LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Woodland Pixies by Parxer 2024-10-09T10:39:06Z

@godbo Thanks so much for the feedback and kind words! This being our first jam, we had some trouble managing the scope for sure  . We spent about two days on the first level, two hours on the second and quickly put together a rough prototype of the third in about 30 minutes, but with only an hour left before the deadline, it just didn’t come together, so we decided to scrap it. Seeing all the positive feedback so far, we are planning to expand this prototype into full-fledged game. We’ll be sharing our future plans later this week, so if you’re interested in what's coming, be sure to check back!

Mighty Mice by Chartle 2024-10-08T07:41:56Z

I really like the concept and the art, I only wish the final boss had fewer HP and the controls would allow me to dodge his attacks more easily :D Good job!

Florian the Tiny Hunter by Strega 2024-10-08T23:25:17Z

Wow! Bravo! This game is so smooth, so cool and I am loving that boss design and navigation hints! Id like to ask what's the minion's vs the bosses HP ratio? Even after many damage upgrades, the last "piece" of the main foe took me a long time to slay, resulting into a bit of an "uneventful finale". I might recommend taking the bosses HP down a notch :) But I really enjoyed this! Best action game so far!

Tara by sbeif 2024-10-09T14:37:02Z

This game has been recommended to me by a friend. I must say it's brilliant! The game is quite short, but everything works so well - controls, level design and clones mechanic. Beautiful craft! Can I ask how much time have you spent on coming up with this concept? Thanks!

Oh God Please Don't Kill Me Mr. Frog by crushedsummers 2024-10-08T00:26:16Z

This is very nice! The mini games were quite hard though, on my first run I didn't manage to catch a single illegal animal :D

Tiny Fallk by Anekich 2024-10-09T08:54:56Z

So good! I keep playing this over and over. I was wondering what the list on the left is for. Wish I didn't get to know it.

Particle Wars by NickHellquist 2024-10-09T08:06:12Z

Nice bit, I've had fun! :) Haven't used dash a single time though, because of its ctrl binding

Particle Wars by NickHellquist 2024-10-09T10:45:05Z

@nickhellquist I think someone mentioned it in the comments above as well - Space would be great. Im a casual gamer, so I usually play on a Mac, and smashing Ctrl gives my hand cramps  From my Mac perspective (for example if you are thinking about adding more controllable features), for WASD games Space bar and left Shift work great!

angler by FrauKauz 2025-04-10T10:40:01Z

Loving the art style - great work! 👏 The gameplay is a bit short, but it’s smooth and enjoyable. Really impressive, especially considering you made it in just 12 hours!

Home Deep Home by YogurtTheHorse 2025-04-10T10:13:54Z

Actually I am pretty sad, because I enjoy playing this game so much, it's breaking my heart that it's not finished. No, but seriously - very good job, this is truly amazing piece. Are you planning on some post-jam updates or maybe even full game release later on?

Forest Depths by Martin183 2025-04-09T16:50:38Z

Nice work on the theme and on the simplistic visuals! I really love the atmosphere. I was struggling a little bit with the camera movement and the colliders, but otherwise real good job! :sunny:

Burrilka by echerry 2025-04-09T12:33:50Z

**Super cool game** - definitely my favorite entry so far! It gives off strong *Papers, Please* vibes. I’d love to get a peek into your jam process - did you go through any other prototypes before settling on this one? How long did it take you to land on the core idea? Were there any mechanics you scrapped or ones you’d consider adding if you developed this into a full game? Also curious - what came first, the art or the gameplay? And what tools did you use for the different parts of the game? Would love to hear more!

We're at the bottom by ChiFu 2025-04-09T14:35:11Z

Ohhhh, I love this! Good job, I really enjoyed all the meta-humour!

Submeowrine by duckmaniac 2025-04-10T13:18:56Z

Great job! I think it's really well-crafted, and all the elements of the game come together nicely. That said, I feel like the gameplay could be stretched a bit. There's definitely enough content for a 72-hour jam, but it's very compact — I finished the game in just a couple of minutes. I wouldn’t mind spending a bit more time exploring the depths of the ocean!

The Scab by Parxer 2025-10-07T15:21:36Z

@cheeks Hi, thank you for your feedback! Yes, there’s currently a bug that requires some clues to be dragged from slightly farther to the left than they appear. We’re working on a fix and hope to have it out later today.

The Scab by Parxer 2025-10-07T16:10:04Z

@manabreak It´s pretty funny that you say that :D Obviously, me and @parxer both are huge fans of Disco Elysium (who isn’t). But you know - we were just jamming as usual, I was building the world, he was writing the story and only about an hour before the submission deadline I asked him “This feel pretty Disco, right?” and he was like “ Ohhh, yeah, I completely forgot there was a strike in Disco too!” :D So that’s that. Apparently our subconsciousness dragged us here. But you know - there’s never enough Disco in the world :D

The Scab by Parxer 2025-10-07T21:01:18Z

@damyyr Hey, thanks for the kind words! I have to say Godot is really great tool even for 3D! If you somewhat like what we´ve done, you´re gonna enjoy 3d in Godot very much. Let me quickly explain why - we are working in Godot´s Compatibility mode, because it allows the WebGL support and therefore we can place the game on the web. But if you actually go for desktop build in Godot´s Forward mode, you can get to whole another level with the rendering. You can find a lot of great tutorials and showcases on YouTube regarding the rendering modes in Godot. Just wanted to let you know :)

The Scab by Parxer 2025-10-09T11:26:17Z

@ira-baciu Thank you, so nice to hear that! To be fair, graphics was the **only** thing I did for those three days. 🥲 All the rest was @parxer :D

Tiny Expeditions by bwalter 2025-10-19T06:50:40Z

I like the vibes, very pretty game! I wish the foliage and trees were scaled a bit more, so the player´s view wasnt obstructed that much. Adding inventory would be also nice touch, to see player´s progress.

Outward by chuckeles 2025-10-19T07:02:30Z

Nicely polished, and pretty enjoyable game. I wish it was longer. Any plans on continuing the development? Big thumbs up for using Godot :)

Galactic Data Collector by Gat 2025-10-07T18:14:14Z

So basically Papers, Please in space? :D Nice! It’s hard to rate since Papers, Please is such a classic, and this clearly draws a lot from it. But you pulled it off well, so props for that!

Duck Dealer by LucaVazz 2025-10-07T14:44:33Z

I’m really impressed by how many mechanics and systems are in this game - and that they all actually work! The different “parks,” the inventory system, the dialogues, and so on. Great job on managing the scope, I'd say! :D The audio is fantastic, and the hand-painted assets look beautiful. I'd love to see the ground and sky also use hand-painted textures - it would really help keep the visual style cohesive. I think I'd also appreciate a simple “click to skip dialogue fade-in” option, or maybe just a slightly faster fade-in speed. That might just be a personal preference, though. Overall, a really nice entry - I like it a lot! And big thumbs up for using Godot!

GunShift by ShadyShade 2025-10-07T17:57:56Z

Neat game! The style works really well, and the game itself is pretty nice little rougelite. I'm not sure what kind of tempo you'd like the game to be played at, based on the game description and the upgrades I feel the player was intended to move fast between enemies and obstacles, however, because of the enemies fire range and healing upgrades, you can just snipe them all from the distance and heal up whenever you get accidentally shot. Id very much like if you as a player didn't get the chance to camp the enemies out, Id like to see myself being thrown into the action, ride or die kind of style. But great compo entry nevertheless! And as usual - big thumbs up for Godot! :)

Goblin Lord's Dream by Ira Baciu 2025-10-08T21:48:52Z

Uhhh, the third game is so haaaard! :D Couldn't finish that one, but good job! Got me hooked for many replays!

LD59 — Signal

MOTHER by Parxer 2026-04-24T17:18:03Z

Hey guys, thank you all for the feedback! We realize the game controls (and even game´s goal) are poorly explained in the game. We definitely didn´t manage scope well this time (or maybe ever, it kinda starts to feel like our trademark). We did what we could to help them describe in the entry page, I have attached a graphic that hopefully provides some understanding. Additionally we tried to catch all the bugs and fix them in the patches. Unfortunately we were unable to recreate some of the bugs reported, so we don´t have fix for those yet  (e.g. the "loosing planets and satellites" bugs @verttixpertti and @mezaka mentioned).

But big thanks for playing, hopefully at least some of you got to see the ending cutscene.

MOTHER by Parxer 2026-04-24T17:29:51Z

@stuckne1 Bathel is the big blue planet with grey rings. The unlocking mechanism isn´t very clear, but in essence - on the SatBoard on the left, each discovered object has red stripes, which represent security levels. By "hacking" them with your "F" ability, you are "taking down" the security level by one until the planet has no security and its satellites can be accessed. In Bathel case, the security level is 2, therefore two long-range satellites need to beam it.

Alpine by RenD 2026-04-24T18:49:14Z

Damn, is this game a car hood? Cause it´s got **some** real polish! Great job, its really very pleasant experience to play this game. Very chill. Thank you. And sorry for the bad pun.

Tiny Signal Lost by Strega 2026-04-22T13:58:41Z

Very nice game concept. I really like how the signal can go thru walls, resulting into unintentionally switching some receivers sometimes, meaning that the placement of the signal emit is important. Art is pretty, character has a lot of personality in the animation and I haven't seen any bugs. I wouldn't mind a little difficulty balancing, some levels felt much harder than other later levels. Great job!

TellyBuddy by ColeSlaughter 2026-04-24T20:13:20Z

Whoa, very original idea and very well made! Playing this was a lot of fun, it reminded me of Inscryption. You guys are pros, very nic job for such a short time!

Below the Light by Beebo Studios 2026-04-24T18:30:49Z

I got hooked immediately, I love this genre. The mood is stunning, the puzzles are complex and make the player think hard, which I like, narration and music are right on point. I like the integration of the theme - having some hints hidden in audio is great idea and in this case I think really well crafted. This entry is the most fun I had so far on LD59. Thank you, team.

Wi-Fix It by DaniSerranu 2026-04-24T20:39:41Z

Loving it, even though I'm not a fan of platformers  But the gameplay was engaging and the style is on spot. I was so drawn into it, only halfway through I realized there are no sounds or music - **when playing on LD page** (itch works fine). I'm not sure if it's just bug on my side, but I'd rather mention it.

Cadence of Glob by Orjan 2026-04-23T21:44:50Z

Hillarious game, it has so much character! I was laughing out so hard. Please keep giving us more! 10/10

Mixed Signals by Fractal 2026-04-23T20:49:17Z

I got hooked! Very simple when you single out the mechanics, but when put together, it´s really lot of fun! Unfortunately I got stuck at 54%, maybe because of a bug? The curves seemed pretty aligned to me, but the "move along x axis" dial couldnt hit the right spot. Even so, very cool game!

Holy Light by Tvorojok 2026-04-23T17:38:04Z

Stunning atmosphere! Took me a while to figure out you can defend yourself from arrows  And great twist at the end, cracked me up. Solid entry

Nervous Breakdown by Cinnamon18 2026-04-24T20:57:57Z

The art is super nice, I would love to see more of the environment, but I couldn't get over the first obstacle. I tried clicking in many different ways, but I couldn't get the worm to move in any meaningful way  Let me please know if there is a trick I'm missing, I'd like to play this game in full

Cyber Resonator (Spicy Hot Chocolate 5) by Kartoffel Licht 2026-04-24T19:08:49Z

Firing the laser is super satisfying  And I love the sprites style. However, I got stuck at the level with two satelite dishes and some mirror walls. How do I get rid of those purple crystals?

GIMME TV by pocketdog 2026-04-24T19:42:09Z

Stylish, fun and well crafted. There's not much to say - you obviously knew what you are going for, went for it and got it. It's polished, it's addictive and OMG the sound effects slap! Bravo!

ECHOMAZE by pipetto 2026-04-24T17:46:42Z

Very pretty visuals! I wish I could fire the LiDAR more without being worried about my battery life. Maybe the LiDAR could show nearest battery packs, so it is not that punishing to fire it? In the end, I just walked through the maze blindly, just trying to navigate myself via the map. Great cutscenes, nice music!

Sigma by peped 2026-05-03T21:09:15Z

Great stuff! Super nice artwork, lovely sound, cool idea. I actually think you could expand this into full game, if you add couple more mechanics. I'd buy it, I love star gazing

Send the Signal by Pavel Goncharov 2026-04-22T08:48:59Z

Oooh, what a nice game! Really enjoyed this one (even though controls could be a bit more intuitive), congrats on first jam entry!

Drum`n`Ice by PepeBrante 2026-04-23T21:13:34Z

Haha, I had a lot of fun! Couldn´t beat the game the first time, so I had to get back to it and win properly! I think the visual beats were throwing me off a little bit and when I really got aligned with the sound beats is when I stopped having trouble casting spells. I haven´t seen many rhythm games in LD, it´s a great choice! I only wish I could upgrade the spells instead of changing them for stronger ones (by the end of the playtrough, I had 2 same spells I couldnt use in sequence). Great job, hope I´ll see you next time again!

ECHO signal by SilentWander 2026-04-24T17:00:51Z

Really good idea, I only never understood which rocks will turn into profit and which won´t. It seemed like the white/dark color ratio didn´t really matter - sometimes selling rocks with bright spots even cost me a lot of money. Also it´d be great to let the player get familiar with the mechanics gradually - many times the first rock sent me to a deficit that I couldnt afford new rock. But still, you could definitely build something on this game idea!

Buller than Bull by gubo 2026-04-22T17:49:57Z

Nice tiny game, I love the icons and the sprites! The bull got me many times before i got a hang of the controls, but I did beat him in the end  Big thumbs up for using hand drawn art and coding in Godot!

Satellite by oriusme 2026-04-24T19:01:55Z

Hey, I think I couldn´t collect the signal from time to time. Is there a specific way how to do it?
