It looks just so so pretty!! Is it possible for u to make it into a web game??

bwalter 2025-10-05 21:16

@ira-baciu i think it's too laborious in the load, but i will look into it.

she-wrote 2025-10-06 22:16

I love this game so much. It’s my favorite so far. The world feels so peaceful, and collecting all the bugs is so relaxing. What a splendid atmosphere, I feel like I could play forever. Being procedurally generated really gives me the feeling that this is my own little world, too. The end screen showing all the bugs you caught is so satisfying, and the UI is also so delicate — the perfect conclusion for our little expedition. I missed a bit of SFX for the net swinging, but I can see how the silence adds to the calming nature of the game. I also would have liked to see more gentle colors on the net, as it’s always on screen; I think it would fit even better with the relaxing atmosphere. But overall, great work! Really well done!

@she-wrote thank you!

nnnnneeeedddd 2025-10-07 02:14

Awesome game, you're getting so much more life out of flat 3D planes than I thought possible.

Audio is very nice, very relaxing

My favourite part was just being on the top of a mountain, looking out over the world

sharky3188 2025-10-07 03:57

Really nice chill game, especially just after finishing the jam. Super chill and relaxed. The world looks great for the simple art style, and i appreciated the swimming mechanic + audio. Maybe a bit more feedback on collecting would be nice, also being able to see what you have mid collection would be good. Great work for a solo entry.

yibirabbit007 2025-10-07 04:16

💓🧡💜I love this!

wormkingboo 2025-10-07 04:25

Such a nice, zen game 🦋❤️

quensol 2025-10-07 05:12

The atmosphere the game creates is quite charming. Roaming around a green archipelago to collect insects feels very tranquil. My only complaint is that I think the weeds are a bit too tall and sometimes obstruct the view.

b0guslaw 2025-10-07 05:21

WOW! Amazingly pretty and well executed. The whole atmosphere, the visuals, the soundscape, everything is brought together really nicely. I only found some of the objects, like the weeds and the net too large, obstructing much of the view.

threeli 2025-10-07 05:30

Forget my thing, THIS is a bug collecting game! That you pulled this off by yourself and in 24 hours is nuts. To echo what @she-wrote and @sharky3188 said I'd like a little bit more feedback, but honestly I just want more of the world to see and roam in. Great work!

placeholders 2025-10-07 05:55

this is just my type of game. love everything about it. i can see a the Proteus inspiration which is always fills me with nostaglic, insperation and a warmth feeling.

insanly impressive as for a gamemaker game! (and the 24hrs haha) 5 stars, thank you!

lectvs 2025-10-07 06:20

Awww this game is so cute! Literally my only complaint is that the character is really tiny or just close to the ground, but the grass made it hard to see. Otherwise super fun and chill, great job!

justuspan 2025-10-07 06:32

I really enjoy the atmosphere of the game. It reminds me of the experience in The Legend of Zelda where you chase frogs and fireflies uphill. If this game could provide a mechanism to let players identify whether the insects in front of them have been collected or not, it would be even more interesting. For example, by holding down the shift key, an uncollected mark could appear above the insects. Snipaste_2025-10-07_14-26-20.png

surfacedfox 2025-10-07 08:08

Oh this is just what I needed after this jam. S-Tier art style, and I'm so glad that this is my last game of the night :relieved:

thatfirey 2025-10-07 15:20

Really good game for 24 hours, especially on GameMaker! Nice cozy visuals, calm gameplay and generally just nice bug catching sim! SS4.jpg

nazorus 2025-10-07 15:20

Love the peaceful atmosphere, it reminds me of old-school Minecraft in a way. The minimalist look and the color palette are pleasing and contribute a lot to the relaxing feel. Only issue would be the tall grass which makes it difficult to see where I'm going sometimes (although I guess bugs would be too easy to spot without the grass). The collection table at the end is a very nice touch, makes me want to catch all the bugs!

badpiggy 2025-10-07 15:31

I usually don't play these sorts of games, so there isn't too much I could say about what you could add to this or do differently

What I will say is that the overall atmosphere was immaculate and calming. Loved the overall aesthetic and feel. That said, I do think that the readability of the game suffered somewhat because of the grass and trees etc.

It's not really a problem though, and I'd say you definitely achieved what you set out for here with this game. Definitely a charming experience

exludos 2025-10-07 17:18

Grass too damn big, but the hand animations and the concept are nice. Could be really charming with a bit of extra work

ulziton 2025-10-07 22:07

just an amazing visual!!!

lalikopter 2025-10-07 22:13

it's really cute and chill, i was SHOCKED (in a good way) it was made in gamemaker tho huge props!!!

graebor 2025-10-07 22:37

I enjoyed my tiny expedition :) The atmosphere is really nice, and I like that you included details like the changing footsteps and swimming.

leo115 2025-10-07 22:48

Super cute! but I really struggled with the extremely narrow FOV and so often the terrain and objects really block all vision, I feel like the pixel grass could have been half the thickness and it would have helped it not block all my vision.

jahwffrey 2025-10-08 03:18

Really pretty and a delightful little world! I really liked the color scheme especially when I occasionally found like a contrasting bright red bug.

lefinno 2025-10-08 06:39

yeah my vision is also blocked quite a bit by the plant meshes, and the camera is making me a bit dizzy. but otherwise the game's concept and vibe is immaculate ^^

chuckeles 2025-10-08 07:11

This looks wonderful but unfortunately I can't play it on Mac. 😥

ciphereo 2025-10-08 07:34

Such a cute game, it really makes one feel extremely relaxed!

melomaner 2025-10-08 15:53

Cute little game about a duck :) But the grass gets in the way when trying to run and catch butterflies!

hank-ather 2025-10-08 20:57

Such a lovely game. Just has this sense of wonder to the world, its insane what you can do with a great color palette and creative use of shapes. Great take on the theme, love me some cozy walk-around games.

tercs 2025-10-09 02:55

It’s a very visually pleasing game — it’s surprising that it was made in GameMaker. The fact that you managed to create this in just 24 hours is really inspiring and impressive.

designernap 2025-10-10 08:59

maaaaaan this is lovely! Really enjoyed this a lot. A wonderful sense of calm and exploration. LOVE the audio and the fact that swimming works too! Only criticism I have is that the timer adds a pressure that I don't think the game needs. This won't stop me giving 5 stars though. Excellent entry.

wouter52 2025-10-12 13:58

What a lovely game this is~! The vibe, the sounds, the calm graphics. Its downright therapeutic I had fun playing it. I think it's wise to have a timer per day and that you can play as many days as you want. Also, it's nice to see that progress is saved between runs, making this game re-playable

If I may give some suggestions: - as it is 'day driven' how hard would it be to make it such that there is a day-night cycle thingy? - a crosshair or maybe a glow indication on the insects gives the player feedback that they can swoop the insect. Now it was a bit hit and miss

euler-moises 2025-10-12 14:52

Bugs everywhere!

Unfortunately, I couldn't take a screenshot. Windows wouldn't let me. First-person games make me dizzy (motion sickness), but I managed to finish the 5 minutes without vomiting.

Congratulations

jvdwijk 2025-10-12 15:13

Such a cute game! Kind of a shame there were so many bugs in the game, but it did add to the charm of it!

It might be nice to make the timer optional and use tab to open the inventory, as just seeing a timer made the game a bit more hectic to me (even though it should be a chill game).

Either way, impressive for only 24 hours!

megalukes 2025-10-15 02:02

Very impressive for 24 hours! I like the visuals, it’s a mix of Minecraft with a more flat or cel-shaded world. This could definitely be expanded into something bigger. Looks great!

nadan 2025-10-19 06:50

I like the vibes, very pretty game! I wish the foliage and trees were scaled a bit more, so the player´s view wasnt obstructed that much. Adding inventory would be also nice touch, to see player´s progress.

ssar-5190 2025-10-19 07:58

Lowpoly, but color makes me feel comfortable.Fantastic and pretty landscape scenery!

jeremy-ryan 2025-10-24 06:00

Delightful entry. I loved the peaceful atmosphere, procedurally generated world, and wide variety of bugs to find. My one complaint is that some areas with grass and trees are not super pleasant to navigate because your camera gets blocked so much --- perhaps making the trees taller so you're just interacting with trunks, and the grass shorter so you can see over it, would make it a little more seamless.

I love the little bug collection summary at the end, it makes it pretty clear about how many there are still left to find! It might be nice if there was just a little more information, like what habitats you're more likely to find certain ones in, that could let you fill out the holes. But very small detail in the scheme of things for a 72 hour game.

Nice work!

wouter52 2025-10-26 07:53

Congratz on the great results, three of em have 4 or more stars. That is very respectable!
