Silly and funny game!
I really enjoyed your game! The cats are so cute and the animations are hilarious. I also really enjoyed the sound effects ("owww nowww"). It also matches very well with the theme. Good job!
Ah and I forgot to mention that I really enjoyed your intro video!
I played a few rounds and I quite like it. The tradional hand-drawn graphics are nice! Did you do the music by yourself? Overall I struggle understanding the connection with the topic...
Ops... your download link is broken!
Ha! It was worth it to come back here, now that the link is working. Your game is great! I played one round and died at the end, but I will definitely try other routes later today. Shame on me, I've never played a text based adventure before, so i have no comparison, but besides from the story and the consistency to the theme, I liked the clear navigation and usage of colors in the dialogues.
@alienplay thank you for your feedback. We also see that the drag and drop functionality is a bit annoying and we're working on that. I will also add a tutorial (at least to the game description on this page - not sure if we're allowed to make this kind of change to the uploaded game?)
@Alienplay I added a few tutorial images. Thanks for the feedback!
I like your main character and the setting; I think the game matches the theme quite well! Playing the game, I wondered what I have to do in order to "win" the level or to proceed? How many levels are there?
That's a nice, entertaining little game. I like the idea of the currencies of life: health, money and time. However I think it would be great if those rules were more visible/obvious in the game graphic - it looked a bit generic.
First I was a bit frustrated by the controls, until I understood that I need a hook (I may got a bit distracted by the funny character animation and sound effects, glugg, glugg) and after the first successful fishing round, I had fun! Mixing up this adventure/platformer and fishing game is a very interesting turn. I really had to laugh about the fishing rod movement when walking around.
*squeeeeezzzeee sound*
Haha, I like this game. It's short and simple and I had to giggle. It looks polished and the artwork is cute, if you add a background jingle, it would be perfect.
I didn't know there are filled churros. Mind explosion!!
The title reminded me of this Simpsons episode? XD deepfry.jpg
I like your game, it definitely stands out and I love the mood and art style. I missed a bit the theme "deeper and deeper", and also a bit of storyline or twist.
That's so adorable, I can't wait until the first Game Jam with our daughter! The game is simple and easy to learn, I had fun playing it and I enjoyed the graphics and the animation of the characters (which is subtle, but it adds to the overall look and feel and is definitely worth the effort!)
Besides selecting the buttons tube, brain and lungs, I couldn't figure out the other interactions. I'm playing on a Win10 and I'm using Chrome Version 90.0.4430.212.
Besides that, I love the quirky art style and the idea! Did anyone record the gameplay of your game, I'd love to see it! And I'm downloading another browser to try it out!
**Edit**: I'm sorry. It's me, not you. I somewhat figured it out. The problem was that I oversaw the giant "OH NO, I do not feel well" and I didn't get that this means "Game Over". I still don't get how to add tubes, but I will figure out this one as well...
Whaaat  super strange, but fun! The background music and sound effects really match and I like the art work. It's more a pitch or a teaser then a complete game, but I like it and I'd love to see more of it.
Somewhat reminded me on Franz Kafkas "Metamorphosis" (but I'm glad your game didn't end like that!)
I liked your game, the graphics, the background music and that every alien species has its own sound effects! I'm impressed that you did all that in 48 hours!
Nice game! Very Pokemon-Snap-y, but I like it. A background reef or something would make it complete.
@LocustJin @Fozzy @Wallkysek @Kanda It seems I accidentally clicked on "publish" even though our game is not completed yet. I'm trying to figure out how to fix this, sorry!
@LocustJin @Fozzy @Wallkysek @Kanda We're finished!!1 Thanks for your patience!
Thanks for your feedback @Moski!! We are very flattered that you liked the game and gained such a high score (during testing, we performed way worse). As @Valeth2124 already noticed, the digging speed is slow and feels annoying, but that was our intention: To weigh up whether it is better to dig (slowly but targeted) or to take a detour.
Thanks for posting your high score!
Well, we had the idea to add a small storyline and at least a win screen or animation when reaching the portal. And maybe some ladders (as in the board game Ladders and Snakes) could be interesting, what do you think?
@tubular To be honest - we wanted to skip any experiments (take a look at Cashier Simulator, it's painful) and try a more established game mechanic; but without the jumping, the game turns into a kind of puzzle. We were not aware of this at the beginning, but it turns out pretty nice. Thanks for your feedback!
Thanks for your feedback @strailks, this level was put together on last minute :D and I'm surprised that it somehow works.
@the_martijn Yes, Saturday. About 8 hours of work in total :D
@rusty-bailey Tweaking the collision boxes is on our to do list, yes :) thanks for your feedback!
@Xparker Thank you for the feedback! Yes, we decided from the beginning not to make any music or sound effects because we could't invest much time for this game. We thought it was better to have no music and sound effects then bad ones... Would you do it the same way?
@WormholeGames Thanks :D we're flattered!
@Lintfordpickle We are glad that the game encouraged you to play several times!
@leorid Thanks for your feedback, yes, hitboxes are an issue that we want to address!
@DWink Yes, gooey was the look and feel I was going for :D glad you like it!
@Dan McAlister @MikoziQ Sound effects and background music are definitely something we want to include in the next LD, even if they are ridiculous pew pew noises :D
@nsadie @MikoziQ Thank you for reporting this bug, we fixed it and we'll upload a fixed post jam version of the game later this day!
@ColeSlaughter We had a blast watching you guys play our game, thank you for your feedback!
@panurge Thanks :D
@guladam We're flattered :D. Yes, it's kind of a MVP of a game and more levels, more types of enemies were a stretch goal that we couldn't archieve. We opted out background music and sound effects from the beginning, but since a lot of you critized the lack of any sound, we will give it a try next LD!
Great little game, i enjoyed the look and feel, especially the the funny little spaceship! It's pretty hard to play though, and I barely passed the first checkpoint :D
Well done, it's a nice game. I especially like the little blob character. The second level's background looks a bit rough, but overall nice experience!
What did I just play
This is a very original take on the theme "Deeper and deeper" and the sound effects were killing me (so... 5/5 at "mood", I guess?)
Nice game! Although it says "not supported for mobile", I played it on my Phone until the roots and branches were out of reach (since I couldn't scroll or move the camera around). I had fun anyway and I got the idea of your game! I definitely had fun and I will play it again later on my laptop.
Nice and polished looking game, I like the artstyle and the background music and the animated game UI. At first I totally missed that you can place windmills in the "white" sea tiles! Great game!
I never stumbled upon a Minesweeper mix/crossover until now and I am blown away :D
It fits the theme, its short, it's easy to learn and entertaining. The graphics are nice. Maybe some background music would make it complete.
I'm really bad at Minesweeper, so I mainly watched explosions, but it was fun.
Another suggestion would be to place the flags not on top of the blogs but on the center of the block, so that the flag is more visible in case it is placed on the block the miner is standing.
Waaaaattt
This is super scary and nightmarish :D. Very atmospheric, music and graphics are great, it fits the theme perfectly!
@brainload-studio ask me again tomorrow morning after a good long and relaxing dreamless sleep :D
What a funny game! I laughed my head off when the hammer came into play.
I like the fact that you get an acoustic feedback when a screw is targeted. The background music is also well chosen. It was a bit irritating that the screwdriver doesn't necessarily turn in the same direction as the mouse pointer, but I got used to it quickly; and with the hammer, I found the speed too slow (it drove me crazy, I wanted TO HAMMER!!! :D ). I would also have liked to know how many screws I managed - are you planning to implement a highscore?
This damn flashlight goes out so fast! And who has such a deep, dark basement???
I read your blog post about the many faces of goblin girl, which I liked a lot btw. Playing the game the first time, I got a bit distracted by the big "Out of battery/Recharging" texts and giant bats and ghosts sticking to my virtual glasses, so I wasn't able to pay much attention to the status bar and avatar. But after playing a couple of times, I got better and I enjoyed the game a lot! I love the artwork, the intro scene, and that you added background music. Sound effects when hitting a monster with the flashlight would make it perfect!
I wanted to download the Windows version, but the page says "access denied"!
So I played the web version and I made it to the bottom of the pit! I jumped off screen one time, and I thought I'm dead now, but my character dropped down again and I continued. I couldn't really figure out how I collected points. Is it when planks crush to the sides? I also wasn't brave enough to do the "place yourself below the plank and then kick" stunt, but I will try again!
I didn't quite get what interaction causes the sound effect.
But it's a very satisfying scene at the end!
Okay, I gave it another try and played the Windows version, thank you for fixing this!
The sound effects make more sense now, and I tried out the jumping. I got 81 points, is this good? I also appreciate the mini map!!
Your game reminds me a lot of this one scene from Alice in Wonderland, when she falls down the rabbit hole and all the furniture is hovering around her. Maybe adding a few different objects besides the planks could be a funny easter egg?
Great job, it really feels like a real mobile game and it really looks cool. For me, the controls were a bit tricky at first (it confused me that the diver appears on the other side of the screen once you leave the screen). But I liked the incentive to play again and again!
Excellent game, very original idea! The game feels polished and was easy to learn and very entertaining!
I wouldn't say I played with much strategy and foresight. Planet 1 to 10 was only "wildly clicking around" (later I picked the more promising planets), I looted every planet I scanned completely and got as far as planet 19 that way, after all. The end of the game was a bit unexpected for me. Is there any way to tell how many resources it costs to mine materials, so I can made a informed decision? Or is this "gambling" intended by you? All in all good job, I liked the graphics and the animation of the small spaceship! Compared to all the other (mostly "mining" themed games), your gameplay stood out!
I was really surprised by your game, it's very atmospheric and I would love to see more of it! I also didn't understand at first glance how to use the tools in the top left and what they do, and suddenly I could add blocks out of nowhere (yay!). Is there any way to read the explanation of the tools while playing? Maybe add an explanation on the game page?
Beautiful atmospheric game, background music and graphics work together excellent, and it also matches the theme perfectly. I have to say I had trouble learning the controls at first, but I put it down to the fact that I am really bad at shooter or jump and run games. I was also missing checkpoints and I would agree @bodaciouslycrazy that sound effects would make it perfect!
On startup, I get the following error: Failed to read the 'serviceWorker' property from 'Navigator': Service worker is disabled because the context is sandboxed and lacks the 'allow-same-origin' flag.
That's a nice little game that you made here. It's quite complex (buying enhancements on the boat, multiple types of fish, loot boxes etc). I liked the graphics and the eye on the detail. The background sound was quite basic, but it worked setting the atmosphere - the game was nice relaxing. I agree @papykent that it's quite easy to catch fish, simply sit on a spawn point and get one fish after the other :D. I didn't quite get how to "catch" a chest, they moved away from me :D. I also didn't know how to end or "win" the game; I dived down to 140ish meters and found a ship there. The didn't use all the light-, speed- and radius enhancements since I did not see the neccessarity of it, but I think if you add predators or time limit, this would polish you game. All in all great job for the given time!!
The game felt really smooth for me, and nice pleasing animations. Although you used only simple elements and texts, the shapes, colors and animations were well picked. All in all very athmospheric and it matches the theme. I have to admin that I liked that it is a short game, since I don't like to read long shaky texts on screen (lol).
What a cool game! It fits the theme really well and seems really consistent in terms of graphics and sound. I love the art style, and that the surface with the museum works like an intro. I didn't realize at first that the lava comes up in several spurts and when everything is safe again, you can go back down. Deeper and deeper... and you can also dig strategically. very well thought out.
I really enjoyed this little game and the enhancements with the multiple bird eating animations, the microbes and the background sound really payed off in terms of atmosphere. The game really looks quite polished, with the UI and all the sound effects. Gameplay wise it was not easy to jump-start into your game, I missed the thing with the bad tooth and wondered what triggered the jaw to close - but now that I read the instructions it was fun. I loved that the camera angle rotated and I had the impression I'm falling into the mouth of this alligator XD.
OMG it's a THUMB, I just thought I stumbled upon some NSFW content XD
Really nice LD game, with cute comic artstyle, well chosen sound effects and music, multiple enemies, a boss fight.. and OMG thank you for the save points. I made it to the second stage of the end boss.
I've been watching this game for a while (the mockups were very promising!) and now, at the last minute, I finally got to play it (the Post Jam HTML5 version). At first I was a bit confused because I thought I could or should move the camera section with WASD. I also overlooked the little cannon at the edge of the screen at first. But then I got the hang of it! I have to say, I really had fun! Those nervous scientists in the foreground, and the news flying in with the funny headlines. I had a good overview of the game's progress through the two jars. I love the artstyle, which is very consistent throughout the game, including the UI. Well done!!!
@pe4q07 @jona-scheidig @nacchan @ybzpp @yanzhi Thank you so much for the compliments on the art style. We thought a lot about using this kind of "watercolor" art style - or using a clean comic look and size down all objects, which would allow to add movement and a level design to the game.
I honestly feel very bad that I drew the "idle" animation of our main character with only three sprites or so, whereas I spend a lot more of sprites for the animation of the prey fish. I tried to do justice by animating the "snap" animation of the angler fish with a lavish 12 (?) sprites. XD
@alvaron Thank you for playing our game on your twitch channel! Here's a fun fact: Since we never really thought about how to create sound and integrate it into our game, I simply did some recordings in a messenger chat on my cell phone - that was the quickest way I could think of. Embarrassing? XD
But in this jam, I definately learned that it makes a lot of difference, having sound effects and music, since it sets the mood and rounds up the overall look and feel. We will do our homework next time, and prepare a more professional setup and make more use of it! Thank you for the feedback.
@ava-skoog thank you for your feedback! We really haven't thought that much about the controls. During testing, I noticed that you sometimes skip the end of game screen because of all the button mashing: I initially had a “press enter to restart” navigation built in. This happened so quickly that you couldn't read your score and restarted the game immediately. It's worth putting more thought into this. I think “hold key” also fits better for lurking... it doesn't make so much noise :D.
Tag me as well!
Thanks for this nice little game! I especially like the consistent artstyle and mood, the color palette and the character design. I had the misunderstanding at the beginning that it was several different ghosts and not one that keeps changing its hiding place. It's a great little POC of the core mechanics! Well done! I scared the ghost away successfully... do I get a raise? :D
@Carraka I had the exact same questions. The floaty movement made sense for me, as I am familiar with Cthulhu :D. But I also wondered if there is a mechanic that I missed to get the hearts behind the walls? I like the consistent art style and mood of the game, and descending deeper and deeper also fits the theme! Well done!
Wow, what a polished looking game! Athmosphere and artstyle are great. I somehow got stuck in the second stage of the tidying up minigame :/ but I think I might have missed something? However the dialogues were not too long for me at all - I expected something else after I read the comments before playing. I'm really bad in rhythmn games, so I am very happy about the screenshots of the end of the game. I also would be very interested in a "let's play" video XD
WTF did I just play XD. I was first quite repulsed by the animated background and the overall sketchy artstyle, but it was oddly satisfying with the music and it all built up to a really good atmosphere. It also fit the theme very, very well. Very original and weird.
My first impression was... wargh! What is the foreground? Is this the background? Where am I? Why am I here? Am I?? :D BUT! I've gotten used to this foreground-background confusion effect, understood that there are these holes I can slip through, go deeper, and use that strategically. You used the resolution of the texture, and also the dark coloring to separate the foreground from the deeper layers, but somehow it was still hard to see at first. I like that you can play different insects - what differences did you have planned here (I played termite and ant)? I also liked that the art style is consistent, from the background images to the character designs and animations, and even the UI. I absolutely love the font XD.
Background rustling or crawling bug noises, or apple munching noises might have been cool for the atmosphere. The theme is great and the graphic style is cute, the animations look alive! Well done!

I think you had a very good game mechanic there, which together with the description makes sense and fits the theme well. but I couldn't read the texts (they were very small) and so I just clicked on the bars without a plan. At some point I unfortunately got stuck because I couldn't click on a remaining bar.
The description on the game page here is quite crowded and scared me away first, but I'm glad I read it all and understood the game better.
It ran smooth in my browser.
Well done!
I love the game pitch (with the bro in the cutscene), too bad it didn't make it in the game.
Really athmospheric and fit the theme very well. From the sneak peak gif, I expected something different, so it was a nice surprise. I was also a bit intimidated at first from the selection of movement interactions (I'm really bad at first-person games), but I was happy that walking and carrying this fuses didn't overstrain my abilities XD. Well done!
Wow, that's a really polished game for this short amount of time (and only one person who created this!). The artwork is great, not only the main character and levels, but the whole atmosphere and backgrounds, particle effects etc. The music suits it so well! I was also thankful for the hints that are placed around the level that encouraged me to go deeper and deeper. I have to admit that I always die pretty soon, and I think I need a couple of minutes in peace and quiet to learn and practise. Bookmarked for later, when the kids are in bed. Thumbs up!
I played it on Itch.Io and it was very laggy, I was not able to play it properly. But I definately had a "OMG what is happening, why do I shoot in the air, where am I" moment :D
Really nice little game. I enjoyed the smooth swing of the bucket and liked how the stones from above come with a warning (the dirt). Well done!
Nice little game idea that can certainly be expanded! Yes, a bit of sound feedback would have been even better, even if it was just click clack - but considering the time, it's totally okay! The art style is pretty cool and the setting - the demons and the fact that you descend deeper and deeper - fits the theme perfectly.
Me too :( - @me when you fix it, I would be glad to play and give feedback
Funny little game, and wide color depth indeed XD. Screenshot 2025-04-07 213842.png
Very artsy and meta game... I liked it a lot. I also would be glad about more varying walking sounds :D but maybe it's part of the experience to endure it.
Ah, I did a short look into your updated version on itch.io. Yes, way better sound. But - the longer I think about it, the less it makes sense for me to randomly play different versions of a walking sound, since the movement has a constant speed and should adapt to the speed of the walking sound. lol. Maybe I make it complicated XD. It's nice as it is, thumbs up
@tenzz waaaat
What a cool idea that fits the theme very well! I also liked the character (I agree with the others who say the text/fonts and buttons don't quite match it as well) and the colors of the game. The ocean noise makes a very good mood effect. The effect of my answers seemed a bit random to me, but it was amusing to watch poor Julio. Do you know the Pixar movie “Elemental”? This reminds me a bit of it XD
I love the artwork, but I can't manage to play the game. Can you please provide a short description on how to play?
Ahh okay, now I get it. I haven't played a Match Three game yet, which makes me now feel a bit embarassed :D. It's a fun game and I enjoy it! Well done :)
