Very interesting concept, but felt too easy. It doesn't seem to matter much which way to grow, and you always have plenty of resources to do so. Also I never had the tree bend to the wind like on your gif for some reason?
Anyway, solid entry. Root growing tech is cool.

Nice entry that fits the theme pretty well. Took me a second to figure out how to play and how the water, sun, and wind were all tied together in the game. My main feedback is that the game lacked music or sound. I also felt the scrolling was a bit touchy or jumpy.

Cool game with the innovative mechanic. It's interesting to play the game and satisfying to watch the roots network grow. I think this game has the potential to grow too if you polish it a bit and add some sound effects.

Those vegetation graphics are truely next gen ! The concept works really well. In terms of balance, I ended up focusing on the roots and discarded the branch management. Maybe, the player should receive less "sun" points or the roots should cost more.
Прикольная игра :) Механика очень понравилась. Несколько режет глаз тонкая черная обводка, но графика все равно приятная, так держать!
I liked the interface. It’s really friendly. I spent some time playing the game and enjoyed it a lot.
Interesting view on jam theme. Good job! Blew away animation is so cute!)

Very solid mechanics and visuals. I also liked the general idea of balancing root and leaf growth. But to make it more fun, I would have loved a few more different mechanics. Maybe you could make it so the tree needs minerals to grow which you have to tap with the roots. Maybe parasites that can cut of parts of the root system or eat leafs etc... I think there is a lot of potential here. Hope you keep working on it!

A really solid entry! Loved the idea and graphics. It's not that difficult after you figure it out. You could probably have lowered the resource generation a bit.
Overall a great game.
I wish it had audio
Right now the concept get boring really quick as there isn't anything new going on while you increase the tree's size, but with enough polish this game has a lot of potential. On possibility is adding milestones for tree size that activate certain events or bring new objects into the mix, overall a very promising entry.

I am total sucker for idle and idle-like games and that game just scratches that itch for me. The graphics are nice and enjoyable and it just feels satisfying to keep digging into both directions and having that huge tree at the end.
At some point i ran out of ways to build up - is that intentional?
I really think the base idea here is pretty good (at least for a short game). I thought it was quite enjoyable to switch between building the roots and building the branches--I really don't think the game needs much else, in the form of new mechanics, or even really a losing condition--the idea of building was enjoyable enough for me.
The only real problems I had were quality-of-life issues--there's a number of these so I'll just do a list: - Sometimes the user interface would be a little laggy and wouldn't stop showing me a root I had previously selected. - A lot of the roots themselves were not visually drawn. One way I can think of to fix this is to remove the user choice of where the next roots will go. That way, the entire root tree can be generated at the start of the game, and new parts of it will essentially be "revealed" when the player clicks on a new root. - The tree started to drift off the screen, making it impossible to grow new branches. I ended up with just hundreds of thousands of water as I would just keep adding roots until I could add no new ones, while waiting for the tree to come back on screen.
But if the game was polished to fix these issues, and maybe juiced up a bit with snappy UI and some SFX, I think this would be a really enjoyable short game. If you want a longer game you could definitely go the route other commenters are suggesting and add new stuff--but I did have fun with what was there, only hindered sometimes by small UI annoyances.
To be particularly clear: just the two things, roots and branches, plus the space background, are easily enough to make me want to play this game as long as it takes to fill out the root network and reach space. Just the presence of those obvious goals were motivation enough, and the gameplay was pretty fun working towards that goal.
(I suppose my one idea to solve the root drawing issue conflicts with the presence of the clearly defined end-goal root network... that rendering problem might need a different solution)

It was a fun game, and I managed to withstand 490 wind, until I added a branch too early. Interesting concept, but I agree with honey-pony about SFX and feedback.

I loved the game and I played more than planned, so great job guys. I like the fact that you have to work on both growing the tree and its roots, it's an enjoyable cycle.

I like the idea and the mechanics of the game, good graphics. But I definitely shouldn't take care of the plants, I felled the tree a few times  Cool game!
Really quality game! I noticed some of the problems with the root graphics but they were really no issue while playing. I did find the water/sun thing kind of imbalanced though. It was hard to grow fast enough to use all of my water without falling, but I always needed more sun. With a little balance and polish this could already be a fun mobile game!
Mwahahaha, you shall never defeat me, wind! I have reached all the way up into space!
The fact that you gave the root mechanism such smart growing it's practically AI is incredible! Too bad I ran out of space for the roots, I had probably filled up every possible spot for roots and all that was left was expansion into space.
I had the same scenario near the end as @honey-pony , when the wind got really strong (especially when it went over 1000) I would have to sit around waiting for the wind to change direction since the wind was so strong the tree's expansion points blew off-screen.

Nice game! Although it says "not supported for mobile", I played it on my Phone until the roots and branches were out of reach (since I couldn't scroll or move the camera around). I had fun anyway and I got the idea of your game! I definitely had fun and I will play it again later on my laptop.

There were some problems with the root and branch graphics but it didn't effect the fun. Great game!
Really interesting concept, and great execution!
