No web build?! :(
@izzqz No unfortunately :(. Web build had problems with audio and performance. Maybe I'll fix them post jam but it's no simple work
Thought it was interesting! I feel like towards the end there, the screen got too populated in such a way that clearing the space was impossible. Might help is, including pushing the creatures, the bullets could destroy what's on screen could help with that. Chill vibe with the music and the pixel art is always a plus for me. Nice job!
Woah epic game guys! Loved the aesthetic and creative gameplay, very intuative and didnt even need a tutorial!
A great entry, very polished. I enjoyed the presentation and the music was nice! I agree with a comment above, after a while it was very difficult to make sure the area was clear. Also, it was funny to see the newspaper title "the galaxies were newer clearer" with the picture of my ship right in the middle. I had fun! Really good pixel art!
@dandee thank you :))
@zio @marudziik Thanks for the feedback. I may add an easy mode with reduced length and enemies.
Nice game ! Loved especially the art. At the end it was easier to lure the ennemy than shoot them, but still nice to play ! thanks
very fun and funny, I wasn't able to beat it after a couple tries but I had a lot of fun :)
Fun! I managed to win, but the last few successful photographs felt mostly like random chance rather than a result of my actions. But the art, audio, and concept were very well executed.
@izzqz There is an HTML build now
I was able to beat the game on my first try. good game. -J
Beautiful art style and mysterious music! It was inevitable that the world would know about the creatures the moment they put me in charge lol, the difficulty escalates quickly especially once the big green creature appears, it felt like a was juggling many things at once I forgot to breathe for a moment XD.
I found the best strategy to be standing where the camera is and shooting without moving too much which worked for a while but I gotta say, the game is quite difficult even in post-jam build.
Overall I found myself getting immersed in the action (at some point I screamed at a person "GET YOUR BIG HEAD OUT OF THE WAY" XD) and had fun despite the challenge. Nice work!
@0x-void-x0 ahahaha, glad you enjoyed it
I nearly managed to win in the Hard mode and I did manage to win in the Normal post-jam mode. I don't really see that much difference tbh, especially since the Normal mode has those tiny guys (which are difficult to aim to) and the big pink ones (which are harder to move and are bigger so they have bigger collisions too). I didn't really like the fact that after shooting something off the camera you had a bigger chance of something coming to the camera again because one of the monsters got a higher speed, it's like punishing for doing a good job. And I really disliked the green guy at the end, it seemed like it didn't react to my shooting at all (if it did, it was way too little). Whether he was within or next to the camera, it was pure chance, and me trying to push him away caused me to not pay enough attention to the other monsters. And the other ones were worse now that Cthulhu was taking so much space since they were colliding not only with walls but with him too.
I really liked the humor and the art, but got really frustrated playing it. Great job on your entry and on rising my blood pressure. (I'm not even joking! I still gave you high scores though, they are fully deserved).
@tiar Heya, thanks for a detailed explanation of your experience, and thanks for the kind words. I'm glad you stuck around to try the hard mode as well. Normal mode has fewer enemies on average but it's pretty RNG. The game also progresses a bit slower so a new player has more time to digest what's going on. If I make an additional tweak to the difficulty your comment will help me a lot.
I love the idea! And I feel like it's executed very well overall. I also love the artstyle and the extra touch of the people walking around and the newspaper articles based on your photos. I love the mechanic of pushing the monsters with your shots and not killing them, very original and makes the gradual rise of difficulty feel very fair and fun. Good job!:)
That was a cool idea you had for the jam. The last monster took me some time to figure out, but beside that I had no real difficulties.
Really original setting! I was very fun and I'm glad it is not endless, but you have the goal to get more fundings than complains. The art style was really good and the news after every shot were a really nice touch. Awesome result!
Love the idea and art for this game! The scientist characters look awesome and the newspaper articles are a nice way to make a successful photo feel really good. There are really nice touches too, like the instructions mirroring the 'don't lean on the glass' note and getting to see the photos that I took.
It got pretty tough as the screen got more crowded, maybe a way to trap monsters or deal with them more permanently could be a good thing to add?
Great job! :)
Very good idea and was fun
love the art aesthetic and the idea - puzzle difficulty seemed pretty friendly as well, got a lot of cozy vibes from this - thanks for making a HTML build :)
I win! Nice I really love that you don't kill the monsters but just push them away! Some fun strategies to keep them at bay.
I did so well (for once) that I did not even take a picture with a monster, I have to replay to see if there are funny complaints!
Great entry
Edit: I played again the web version, in a corner not shooting to get a monster, and they aggregate around you and avoid the picture by themselves... So I won again not playing.
Really creative idea and the presentation is fantastic. I did found the more I played I felt like I was getting more frustrated rather than feeling like I was slowly mastering it which is a bit of a shame but overall this is really well made.
@perrin Hey, I remember your last game. I liked the music a lot. It's fun that we can bump to the same people even when there are so many of us :)
Really nice game! It was definitely one of the most fun games I played, and has a surprising amount of detail and polish for a jam game!
A wonderful cute and exciting game with unusual gameplay and original idea. Very beautiful drawing. Thank you!
I've been watching this game for a while (the mockups were very promising!) and now, at the last minute, I finally got to play it (the Post Jam HTML5 version). At first I was a bit confused because I thought I could or should move the camera section with WASD. I also overlooked the little cannon at the edge of the screen at first. But then I got the hang of it! I have to say, I really had fun! Those nervous scientists in the foreground, and the news flying in with the funny headlines. I had a good overview of the game's progress through the two jars. I love the artstyle, which is very consistent throughout the game, including the UI. Well done!!!
