not a gaem by euske 2021-04-27T20:15:54Z

I think I'm more addicted than ever...

Boots & Booty by Ava Skoog 2021-05-06T18:46:50Z

What a charming game. It felt really cozy in the cabin of the ship. The graphics were cute and the music was great. I enjoyed the minigame once I got the hang of it. At first I had a hard time compensating for the weight on the way back up. It was very satisfying bringing the last piece of cargo aboard and realizing it wasn't another boot

Excellent work, I really enjoyed it.

Glowstick Run by karlipoppins 2021-04-28T08:35:39Z

Wow, this was a tough one. I had a lot of fun with it. The mechanic is interesting, though I couldn't quite figure out exactly where I'd bounce off to. Surprisingly I managed to complete it... in 7:04. It still counts!

I also had trouble with the HTML5 version on Firefox not loading. Had to switch to Chrome.

Nice work!

Deeper and Deeper by minibobbo 2021-04-27T01:29:47Z

I had a lot of fun with this. The cute pixel art and lighting create an interesting and surprisingly moody atmosphere. The eerie music fits perfectly and made me feel immersed.

I really like the idea of using light as your primary tool. It was nice being able to get your torch back any time you needed. I imagine you could play around with limiting it to some extent to create more challenge.

I wanted to keep playing. I wish there were more levels! Great work, I really enjoyed it.

Crown of the Mountain King by vilcans 2021-05-01T11:27:47Z

I really enjoyed this. I don't have experience with the ZX Spectrum, but I have a lot of reverence for games of this era. I felt so nostalgic playing it. It's awesome that you made such a dedicated throwback.

I thought it was a perfect challenge and length. The level design is really spot on. The checkpoints were well placed and I felt like I was always making good progress. It was nice having some choice with alternative paths and a bit of exploration. I thought it was really clever having to get to the throne and work your way back. The added weight and new perspective created a fun challenge. I just barely got to a few of the checkpoints and it was very satisfying.

Great work on it, I had a lot of fun.

Deep Root by blackoptics8 2021-04-27T08:41:11Z

This is a really interesting idea. I had fun with it. It's neat seeing the roots branch off. I really like the retro graphics and audio--spot on.

I thought it was a little tedious having to wait for the right selection to appear, though I realize it's a pretty core mechanic. I also agree that it was a little hard to know the lose condition at first. I got the hang of it pretty fast though.

Nice work!

VRtigo by infinitycore 2021-04-28T12:45:56Z

This was great fun! I love the idea, it's simple and elegant. The "wireframe" graphics look really nice as you fall. I think it was the perfect choice. It's awesome that you just look down and you're in the game. It's a great transition.

Looking down for too long was maybe a little difficult for me. I'm using the first generation Vive with the original flexible headstrap which has a tendency to slip up on my face while looking down, it turns out. I grasped the headset and mostly solved this issue with no problem, though I ended up with some occlusion as a result. Mind you, I'm sure this is mostly user error  I got a little dizzy, but not too bad. I'm not usually susceptible to motion sickness. It was very tolerable.

This is an excellent game. I was happy to play a VR game during the jam, especially one that was so fun and polished. Really great work on it.

HyperJack by pkenney 2021-05-15T16:57:54Z

Really interesting idea. I had a lot of fun with it. I avoided the spoilers and just jumped in.

I was frustrated at first, but I quickly realized how much control I actually had over the jackhammer. I started getting a much better feel for the nuances of the controls. It was very satisfying learning the rhythm of the game.

I'm glad you were able to overcome the initial block. I know how annoying that can be. It's interesting seeing complexity arise from relatively simple mechanics. You've created something really unique. Great work on it.

Antrum by killthealias 2021-04-28T07:24:07Z

This is so cool. Heavy Descent vibes and nostalgia galore! The art, music, and sound design create a really creepy/weird atmosphere. Using the harpoon to rip off armored segments is a great idea, though it sometimes felt a bit clunky. I also felt a little lost at first, possibly because of how confined a space you're in. I would love to see more enemies, weapons, and powerups... I just want to play more of it, really

I had an absolute blast! Great job with it.

Holey Hell by managore 2021-04-27T10:20:26Z

Really cool game. I had a lot of fun with it. It's interesting that it manages to feel retro and modern at the same time. The graphics are really stunning. It's the perfect match for the theme.

I like the simple mechanics and the variety of enemies. The warping surface really changes the feel of the platforming. It all works really well.

The only trouble I had was with the controls while upside down, with directions flipping. I adapted fairly quickly but it was a little jarring at first.

Great work on it, it's a fantastic game.

Down to Goblin Town by panurge 2021-04-28T19:45:10Z

This is so adorable. I had a lot of fun playing it. There was enough challenge to keep me engaged and I think it was the perfect length. Loved the voice acting, it had me laughing

It's really great getting your kids involved. Being able to turn their ideas into reality must be really awesome for them.

Great work!

Nuclear blaze by deepnight 2021-04-29T12:02:33Z

Great game and super stylish. The pixel art and animations look fantastic. The fire and water look particularly good. I can imagine it with some awesome chiptunes. Really enjoyed it.

Just Down Jack by joewan 2021-04-28T08:51:45Z

This is really fun. It's a great simple concept that gets pretty challenging. I got a lot further than I thought I would, though my high score was only around 950.

I wish the question blocks were all powerups. The confusion was pretty punishing. I was tempted to avoid them as a result, but those hearts are just too tempting... I guess it's just personal preference and does add some extra challenge.

Great work on it!

Super Drill Diver! by Cornflowerblue 2021-04-28T14:25:57Z

This game is absolutely adorable. I had a lot of fun with it. The art style and character design is so good. The characters are super cute. The sound and music is also excellent and fits nicely.

I had some trouble with aiming and found enemies had a bit too much health. I would have liked to start levels with full health and only take damage from falling into the abyss. I also thought it was a little punishing having to start over upon death.

Even so, I had a blast. Great work on it.

Infinity Dive by keepee 2021-05-02T09:12:34Z

This game is so cool. It's one of the most creative entries by far. I love how pure it is. You click and you're diving into the "world" itself. It's really a fantastic idea.

Great work!

Riches Below! by mobiledev 2021-04-30T11:18:54Z

I had fun with this. I like the art--it's an interesting style. It's neat seeing all the skulls of my enemies on the floor

It was a little confusing starting so far from the generator. Once I got there I was surprised a wave had already spawned, but luckily they were easily dispatched. I enjoyed upgrading and farming the floor, but at first I really had no idea I could continue down at will. I think it might help if the camera was zoomed out a bit.

Nice work, I enjoyed it.

GRAPPLE the Abyss! by lectvs 2021-04-29T15:41:24Z

Very cool, I love platform games that replace jumping with a novel mechanic like this. It works really well and was quite challenging at times. Loved the meta humor at the end

I had a lot of fun with it. Great work.

Dome Romantik by Rongo Matane 2021-04-28T06:57:57Z

This is such a great game. The setting is strange and fascinating. I love the pixel art, palette, and sound. It creates a very unique mood. It's all so retro feeling--I felt nostalgic. The dome has a cozy feel, but it's contrasted by the panic of incoming enemies. It's a nice place that I want to be in and keep safe.

I really like the mixture of gameplay. Managing your time and taking risks is simple yet fun. The upgrade system is great and coming to the surface with a haul to buy new equipment is always satisfying. Seeing terrifying creatures slamming against the glass dome, getting to the controls, and vaporizing them with the laser is oh so sweet. It all works so well together.

Really excellent work. I enjoyed it immensely!

Mole Hole by ArBe 2021-04-28T13:40:30Z

This was really cool, I enjoyed it. I love the 1-bit art style. The bosses are strange and kind of disturbing in a good way. I like the idea of a series of boss fights.

I think movement is a bit too slow. I didn't have too much trouble as a result, but I never felt very mobile. The boss attacks could probably be telegraphed a bit better, but it might just be my lack of attention. More than anything I wish there was more content

Nice work!

Last Breath by Yorsh 2021-04-30T11:43:51Z

This game is very stylish, somewhat disturbing, and quite fun. It's also really challenging and I'm terrible at it  The graphics and audio combine to create a very moody atmosphere. It's weird and beautiful being dragged into the abyss. My only suggestion would be to allow restarting more easily.

Great work on it!

Demden by Wesxdz 2021-05-06T16:08:04Z

This is an interesting idea and I had fun with it. I like the crisp graphics and the retro audio. Having to venture into the cave, check for teeth below "gum" level, and carefully mine them out was a nice challenge. The upgrades felt meaningful and the constantly decreasing "energy" created a sense of urgency. I thought it was cool having a sort of soft lose condition when your light goes out.

I agree that it really needs to communicate things better. Through trial and error I got the hang of it pretty quickly, however. More than anything I really didn't know how to compelete a level (I eventually came here to read comments). I think something simple like an arrow pointing back to the entrance when you've completed your objective would help a lot.

Nice work on it, I enjoyed it.

Mine Zhero by Colisan 2021-05-01T12:59:25Z

Had a lot of fun with this. The graphics are really clean and cute, especially the ghosts  It was interesting having to mine while being careful about the time. The combo system and hoarding really add a nice dimension to the gameplay. The online leaderboard is a nice touch. If I was better at it I'd try for a spot

Nice work!

Nyctofobia by Cubanfrog 2021-04-29T08:35:17Z

This is really great! I absolutely love the artwork and music. The hand drawn style of the art is almost a comfort in the dark atmosphere. The music is eerie and ethereal. They combine to create a truly strange and somewhat unsettling game.

The gameplay is simple yet fun and I think it's interesting that it's essentially a puzzle game. I definitely would like to see more enemies or behavior of some kind. I also think it would have been nice to be able to walk around after turning on all the lights. The home was a nice place that I wanted to just take in, but I had to rush because of dwindling fuel. It would be neat to piece together even more of the story by interacting with the world during some kind of downtime.

I really enjoyed it. Great work on it!

Catch GEMS all by Panzershrek 2021-04-28T08:10:40Z

Had fun with this! The art is really cute--the presentation in general feels really polished. The song choice was spot on. It fits really well. I wish there was a bit more of a challenge and a way to extend the timer.

I really enjoyed it though. Nice work.

LuK-2000 and the Fragments of the Past by Avzgui 2021-04-27T21:52:33Z

I really enjoyed this. The character is cute and the art style in general is charming. I like the hand-drawn feel of the robot. The backgrounds have an interesting dreamlike quality which is accentuated by the lovely music. It all combines to create a really great mood.

Nice work on it, I had a lot of fun.

Cave Rider by Iker Díaz 2021-04-28T14:38:54Z

I had fun with it. I love the art style and retro music/sounds. It really looks great with the parallaxing.

But wow is it tough... My poor index finger... The bats come out from way too close and move really fast. My reaction time just isn't sufficient. I'd love to be able to hold down to rapid fire and maybe have a little more camera distance.

Good work on it, though. I enjoyed it even with the difficulty.

Below the Ocean by Ismael Rodriguez 2021-04-28T15:03:52Z

This game is absolutely phenomenal... It's jaw droppingly good. The art style and music/sound is so amazing. I wish I could listen to the music on loop.

It's such an innovative game. I was happy with the retro style platforming, but when the tethering mechanic appeared I was just blown away. It's really the perfect idea and it plays so well. It feels super polished. I love this game.

Seriously nice work. I'm really impressed.

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-04-26T23:54:49Z

Thanks for playing everyone!

@locustjin I'm glad you liked it. It was a fun mechanic to play around with, but the difficulty really got out of hand honestly. I decided to just embrace it.

@minibobbo Thanks for the feedback. I became so used to the game that I didn't realize how difficult it really was until I was pretty far along. An easy mode is a great idea. Seems obvious in hindsight... If I make a post-jam version it will definitely include one.

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-04-27T05:50:18Z

@szymon-ogd Thanks for checking it out, I really appreciate it! It's definitely not for everyone and the controls can be pretty unruly. Sticking with it for 70 deaths is pretty good

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-04-27T19:02:12Z

@themightytrout Thanks so much, I'm really glad you like it. Yeah, the death on contact is something I went back and forth on. I like the environment being a hazard, but I think you're right that's it's way too sensitive. If I make a post-jam version I'd like to change it in some way as well as adjusting the collider in general.

@stepan-ilin Thank you, I'm glad you think so!

@nuelijarma Hey there, thanks for the feedback. I definitely think you're right that the game needs to ease you in better. I think it was a missed opportunity not including more open areas in general. I actually did consider something a little less linear, like Mario Odyssey--exploring an open world and happening upon challenge areas. Something to explore for the future.

@euske Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked it.

@leggy Thanks! It was a fun little mechanic to play around with. It definitely could use some tweaks to make it more fair. I really wanted to make some music for it but ran out of time. I appreciate the feedback.

@maytch Really happy you liked it! It can definitely get a bit...stressful, heh. There were 3 checkpoints left after this. You were getting close for sure  There's a continue option if you decide to take the plunge, but beware that doors need to be reopened after (sorry about that).

@ditam Thanks so much! I really wanted the moving blocks to be menacing, so I'm glad to hear they were

@chtimy Thank you, I really appreciate the kind comments and your perseverance  It definitely can be a little draining, heh. Thanks for playing!

@vincent-abel-grimalt Thanks!

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-04-28T05:15:27Z

@olddadou Thanks for checking it out, I'm glad you had some fun. It's an honor to be compared to Dark Souls' difficulty

I'm definitely considering a post-jam version with some changes, including an easy/chill mode.

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-04-28T11:37:48Z

@ceterasdragos Thanks for playing! Congratulations, I think you're the first person to finish it

Sorry about the lack of stats at the end. It kind of just slipped my mind I guess. I'll add it to the list of post-jam additions.

Full disclosure, I've never completed New Game+

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-04-28T12:14:51Z

@twospaces-sg Thanks for checking it out, I'm glad you liked it. Hopefully the game didn't add too much to the stress, heh.

The difficulty really does fluctuate a lot. I think I ended up over and under tuning a lot of the sections, and then just had to commit. I've been thinking about reworking a considerable portion of it, and extending the length overall. Hopefully that, as well as some quality of life improvements, will even things out a bit.

Thanks for playing and I really appreciate the feedback.

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-04-28T16:52:47Z

@humphreysmedia Thanks so much, I'm glad you liked it! Thanks for the feedback.

@panurge Glad to hear it, thanks for playing!

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-04-29T07:15:32Z

@fraukauz @makse Thanks for playing!

@the-neon-shark Hey, thanks for checking it out. I definitely agree about the unforgiving collisions, it's something I intend to change to some extent by factoring in velocity.

It was tough trying to adjust fuel rate/capacity and still make the game challenging. I think there's a sweet spot that I didn't quite reach. I know how frustrating it is to run out of fuel and miss a critical "jump." One thing I really would have liked to add is a sort of hover if you're completely out of fuel and continue to hold down the thrust. At least then you could more safely bail.

I really hadn't considered the reset timer. I think it's a value I basically set and forgot about. Thanks for pointing it out, I didn't realize how frustrating it is. I'll definitely be adjusting it.

I really appreciate all the feedback.

@leandro4002 Awesome! I don't think I've performed this maneuver... Not intentionally at least, and it certainly didn't end well  Glad you had some fun with it.

@cubanfrog Thanks for the kind words, I'm really glad you think so! It's hard to know if your game is fair after spending so much time with it. Thanks for playing!

@cradac I'm glad you liked it. Getting the game feel right was a challenge, so I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it.

@gibss Thanks so much, that means a lot to me. Thanks for checking it out!

@chiyeon I'm really happy that you liked it! I know how frustrating the collisions can be, I intend to fix them up. Getting a section done nearly perfectly and then sliding into a wall can be so disappointing.

It's nice to hear the difficulty was manageable and mastery is possible. I was worried it would be far too alienating for people. It's really easy to start thinking you've created a monster, heh.

Thanks for the feedback!

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-04-29T09:40:21Z

@zeha @videt Thanks for playing, I really appreciate it.

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-04-30T09:48:03Z

@ev3r4 @mobiledev Thanks for checking it out. Glad you liked it!

@yorsh It can be a bit of a challenge  Happy to hear you liked it, and I appreciate the feedback. I know what you mean about the environment, it's pretty plain. Surface and corner tiles would probably help a lot and I considered lighting.

@rosypenguin Thanks so much for the kind words, I'm glad you liked it. It's been nice hearing feedback and I really appreciate it.

I definitely agree about the collisions, they can be pretty frustrating. I'm planning on making some adjustments and quality of life improvements in general for a post-jam version.

I'm really impressed you got so far on a trackpad... To be honest, I didn't think that was possible  You have the option of starting a new game or continuing on the main menu, so you should be good to go if you choose to venture on

@fpeg Thanks for playing!

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-04-30T22:40:28Z

@felo07 Thanks for checking it out.

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-05-01T10:08:28Z

@colisan Thanks for playing, I'm so glad you liked it. No worries, I know how frustrating/exhausting it can get. I definitely want to rework a lot of it to make a more even experience. I'm glad someone found the Easter egg. It was meant for my primary game tester and fiance

@vilcans Thanks for checking it out. I remember playing a number of games with fuel management when I was younger. Lunar Lander is the one that comes to mind, but Gravity Force is clearly the most similar. To be honest, I only remember it after looking it up. Seems like it's been in the back of my mind all this time

I love the idea of managing fuel, struggling with momentum and gravity, and mastering your ship's mechanics. There's something really satisfying about it. I drew inspiration for this game from a VR prototype I worked on a while ago. In it the ship's rotation was controlled by the orientation of the player's hand. It ended up being frustrating for a lot of the same reasons and hard to design levels for, as I really didn't want to attach the camera to the player. Unfortunately I didn't seem to learn enough lessons from it

I've been thinking about the difficulty a lot. It's the primary reason I've been looking for honest feedback. I think I became too fixated on the idea of challenging "jumps" and didn't realize that the challenge was really in the mechanics themselves. I got locked into it at some point and decided to accept that it was going to be very difficult. I intend to make a post-jam version and I really want to make it more accessible. I don't think I want to make an easy mode that simply gives you more fuel (as some people have suggested) but rather change core aspects of the game. I really just want it to be fun.

The mouse controls are a bit of a double edged sword I think. I was really worried they would completely turn people away from the game, honestly. It seems like the most precise way to control the ship, but also tends to be so sensitive that you can easily over correct and feel out of control. It's a kind of mastery that I suspect few people would want to bother with. I plan to experiment with keyboard and gamepad controls. I'll also have to play around with locking the camera to the player, though I found this to be a little disorienting for myself during development.

I know the level design leaves much to be desired. It turned into sort of the same gimmicks over and over--Winding and alternative paths that end in a button press and backtracking. I look forward to spending more time carefully creating challenges. I definitely want the player to always feel like they're making progress.

Thanks for the detailed feedback. It's very helpful and I really appreciate it.

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-05-01T19:59:20Z

@ismael-rodriguez Thanks for checking it out. I realize it's not for everyone. I definitely want to try to make it more accessible. Getting people accustomed to the controls in a big open area on the surface would have been a good introduction, in hindsight.

Couldn't agree more about the checkpoints. At the very least there need to be many more. I think the idea of allowing the player to set their own could work. If things go awry you could recall to the static checkpoint. Definitely something to think about.

I'm glad the controls didn't bother you too much. Seems pretty split between players. I know the camera shifting can cause issues. In testing I found centering the camera on the player felt strange, but it's probably best to allow it as an option.

I definitely need to add more sound... I know what you mean about the checkpoints, perfect opportunity missed :grimacing:

I really appreciate the feedback, it's very helpful.

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-05-08T13:47:15Z

@ava-skoog Thanks for playing, I'm glad you had fun with it. A death limit is a good idea

I'm trying to make things a little less frustrating and more accessible for a post-jam version. Hopefully I can make a couple tracks for it as well. It's helpful hearing your take on the difficulty. I really appreciate all the feedback.

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-05-09T01:24:57Z

@yorsh Nice! That's awesome, I'm impressed. It means a lot that people are enjoying it. Thanks for letting me know.

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-05-15T05:51:47Z

@pkenney Hey, thanks for checking it out. I really appreciate the detailed feedback.

I hadn't considered how frustrating the restart time might be. I've reduced it significantly in the post-jam version, but it's still not instant and includes the camera pan. I'll have to experiment with it. At the very least an instant restart button might be a good compromise.

I played around with the fuel meter before settling on it being attached to the cursor. I realize it isn't ideal but it seemed like it would get in the way if it followed the ship. At one point I considered embedding it in the ship itself, or representing the fuel as a glow that "filled" the ship. I'll have to give it some more thought.

I'm glad you like the new look. It's hard to make such a drastic change, especially after getting generally positive feedback about the original graphics.

It's very helpful getting feedback from the core audience. You've given me a lot to think about. Thanks again.

Crash Lander by AranCutter 2021-05-17T22:22:03Z

@pkenney Interesting, I'll check it out. Thanks for taking the time to let me know, it definitely is helpful. I appreciate it.

Bunny Bunny Dig Dig by ZakAmana 2021-04-27T07:22:48Z

Really enjoyed this. The art style and the whole presentation is very charming. It feels so polished, I'm surprised it was made in 48 hours (like everyone else it turns out  )

I love the dungeon crawling and hauling idea. I think it would be really cool with weapons and armor and some kind of endless mode or campaign. But it's already great for what it is.

Really excellent work, was a pleasure to play!

End of my Rope by Maytch 2021-04-27T21:16:12Z

I had a lot of fun with this. The 3D environments with 2D sprites works well and reminds me of some classic Playstation games. I really enjoyed the pixel art and the unique audio... But it is THEY who are the cheeky buggers!

The roping was definitely kinda wonky, but I had a lot of fun with it  I had some issues with double jump activating after coming off a rope, at least I think that's what was triggering it. Also, I think the hit boxes on some of the enemies were a bit too small. It was a little frustrating trying to land an arrow while jumping around trying to avoid them.

Nevertheless, great work, I really enjoyed it!

Deeper Into The Mind by michaelyount 2021-04-28T12:04:18Z

Congratulations on completing your first game jam! Hope you'll participate in many more. They're a great way to learn, and great fun of course

I enjoyed the game. I like the idea of fighting your personal demons, especially in bullet hell format. It was cool fighting in a sort of arena and moving forward/deeper. I wish there was more. I also found some of the audio to be a bit harsh.

Nice work!

Asteroid Breaker by GibsS 2021-04-29T09:37:40Z

This game is great. I absolutely love the look. The abstract style works perfectly. The music is great and the sound effects are satisfying. The game controls really well and it's interesting being able to modify this throughout the game with upgrades. I thought it was clever having a very finite upgrade path and definite goal in a game like this, rather than being endless.

I found the enemy placement to be frustratingly random at times, but I didn't mind starting over and trying to be more careful about resource collection in the early game, which helps a lot. It can be pretty rough being out of control while falling, but I like that you need to try to plan--It's a double edged sword.

I really enjoyed the experience. Great work and thanks for sharing it.

Dear Child by deformhead 2021-04-27T09:43:51Z

This was really interesting. The art is great and I think you did a really good job creating a mood. It would be nice to experience this in a longer form. It's cool that you decided to go for something different and challenge yourself. It's really commendable.

Thanks for making it and thanks for sharing.

How to Swim! by backurio 2021-04-28T11:12:28Z

This is a really interesting game. I had a lot of fun, and frustration, playing it. It's very stylish in every way--very calming, even though I was raging inside.

I really want to make it but I fear I never will. I might give it another go, but my enemy buoyancy is really persistent... I liked the tutorial, and strangely it actually did help :smirk:

Excellent work with it. I feel like it could be a classic like QWOP.

Research and Rescue by Kaleido 2021-05-09T15:20:25Z

I had a lot of fun with this. I really like the presentation and minimalistic graphics. The audio and music are really nice and fit well. It's a very stylish game.

I thought the enemies moved a little fast and took too much damage. I think it would be more satisfying taking out a hoard of weaker enemies. It also would have been fun having an alternative fire, like a rocket or grenade with a long cooldown.

I really enjoyed playing it. Great work!

Adventure in Socksland by OwlyCode 2021-04-27T22:22:20Z

Had fun with this. It's a really amusing take on the theme  It reminds me of some old classic games.

I had some trouble having to memorize the patterns, though I quickly realized I needed to just feather the flashlight button. It seems like you should start each level with battery life since you regain it when losing anyway (a bug maybe?)

Really creative concept. Great job with it.

I really like the idea. I wish I had someone to play with locally but I gave it a shot on my own. The graphics and music are nice and set a unique tone for the game.

I had some trouble with the controls. The mouse turning felt slow and kind of floaty. I also think the rotation speed for the observer is much too slow. I felt pretty disoriented while playing. I noticed an issue with the grey blocks getting nudged out of place and becoming unmovable.

It's an interesting game and I think it could be a lot of fun with some minor changes to the controls. Nice work on it.

This is a great idea and I had a lot of fun with it. It's a really unique take on the theme. I think the minimalistic style works quite well. It feels really polished.

Great work!

It's a very polished game and I had fun with it. I was impressed with the music and art, and I love the retro feel--you nailed it. I really like the idea of selecting your character and then facing off against the rest. It was a fun surprise.

Unfortunately I found it pretty difficult to aim. I think a big part of it is the character's slow fire rate and the behavior of the enemies. They definitely felt too tanky to me.

I enjoyed it once I got the hang of it, though. Nice work on it.

This is a really interesting idea and I had a lot of fun with it. It's pretty mind bending, though I eventually got the hang of it. I had some trouble imagining what the configuration would be after an operation, but I think that's on me  I think there's a lot of potential here for even more.

Great work on it.

Awesome! This is a great little meditative deep dive. I love the art style and music. It's fun just interacting with the sea life. The puzzles were simple but enjoyable.

Great job on it.

Hook, Line, Key by chiyeon 2021-04-29T10:51:10Z

This was a great chill game. I love the piano music and low-poly art. There's enough gameplay to keep me engaged but it doesn't overstay its welcome. The humor is funny and I wanted to catch more stuff to read all the descriptions. This game really works on all levels.

I did find the tutorial to be too long. Actually, at one point I thought maybe this wasn't a fishing game at all, and instead the joke was that it was never ending tutorial dialogue (Not to offend, I thought it would have been amusing!) But I know patience is key when fishing... :smirk:

I really just loved it. It's great. Thanks for making it.

Deeper and Deeper into Outer Space by TheMightyTrout 2021-04-27T19:25:17Z

Congratulations on your second jam! I enjoyed the game. The controls have an interesting out of control feel to them. It got pretty hectic towards the end (in a good way). It was nice being able to wrap around the screen to avoid asteroids.

It would be neat to have some power ups and maybe health/lives. Glad to hear you're going to keep working on it.

Nice work, and good luck with your next jam!

Blackout by Frasse 2021-04-27T11:00:46Z

This is such a great little game! The art, the music, the story. It's all just fantastic. I really can't get over it. I was happy to find an adventure game to play, but this far exceeded any expectations I had.

I only noticed one small issue with a door frame/wall near the clock overlapping the player towards the end of the game.

I really loved it. Thanks for making and sharing it!

I had fun with it! Sort of a Lemmings-esque experience. The characters are cute, too bad I couldn't save them...

Deeper Into The Forest by SnappyPath 2021-04-27T02:28:50Z

It was fun playing a "shooter" that was a bit different. The graphics and sound were nice. I thought it was a bit slow, however. It would have been cool to see some different monsters with more demanding/varied timing.

I had fun with it though. Nice work.

The Tourist by Frostfall 2021-04-28T07:57:33Z

I really enjoyed this. It was a nice relaxing atmosphere. The graphics are very crisp and pleasant and the music adds a lot to the experience. Like the others, I had performance issues as well. It was sort of exacerbated by the high mouse sensitivity.

Excellent work on it, though. Thanks for sharing!

Ariel Cleanomancer and the Eldritch Sweep by alyd asmar 2021-04-27T19:54:05Z

This was great! I didn't realize how fun Sokoban with a vacuum would be  The art, music, and design was really outstanding. I love the pixel art.

I have to agree that it could sometimes be difficult to perceive tiles properly. I found myself suddenly realizing there was actually a free space right next to me a couple of times. Still, I actually really like the isometric style. I didn't have any trouble with it other than that.

Really nice work on it!

Get Down Mr. Lucifer! by Trungler 2021-04-28T06:01:58Z

I had fun with this. I really like the setting, it goes well with the theme. The mechanics were interesting. I like that you have to decide to fight or flee using the same tool.

I think maybe some of the controls are unnecessarily complicated. It seems like left click could be used both for attack and recall for example. I like the idea of dragging enemies to you, but I feel like it might be better to combine this with the healing mechanic. I also thought enemy health was a little confusing. I didn't ever have a good sense of when they would die, and I ultimately just started avoiding them. I feel like they should have a lot less health.

I enjoyed it, though. Nice work on it.

Deep Dive by mharitsnf 2021-04-27T02:01:02Z

Very fun and challenging game. I like the "abstract" runic style of the art. The bubbles are a nice touch. It's simple and all fits together nicely.

I wasn't sure how much I'd like the inverted platforming but it worked very well. The switching was used in a clever way and really made me think. I found the difficulty to ramp up pretty quickly, but it was very rewarding to complete levels.

I'm not sure how much I like the spikes destroying the treasure. I understand it might be necessary but it was frustrating at times, especially when I was carrying it. Of course this didn't stop me from enjoying the experience.

I had an issue with the treasure moving through colliders and getting stuck. It never caused me to be unable to finish a level, however.

Great work on the game, I had a lot of fun.

Into The Depth by Szymon OGD 2021-04-27T02:55:24Z

Very fun! I didn't realize I wanted to play a shoot 'em up with sharks before this :) The graphics look really nice and the sonar pings definitely create an interesting atmosphere.

Like others have said, I thought I was doing pretty well before I saw how deep I had yet to descend. Not that this is a bad thing, but I wish there were more power ups or various weapon upgrades. It would be nice to have more creatures with unique behavior. I also thought it was a little frustrating not being able to collect power ups during invulnerability frames.

Great work, really enjoyed it!

Objective Atlantis by Catoryu 2021-04-29T08:15:14Z

I really enjoyed this. It's very charming. The art and audio is very good and really creates a good mood. It's fun being in the submarine but not having direct control. Things get hectic, but if you're mindful and man the stations regularly it's very doable.

Great work on it. Bravo!

HELL deep is your love? by Villanelle 2021-05-01T14:04:49Z

This game is great! I love the pixel art and palette. The music is amazing. I'm listening to the soundtrack while writing this  The whole thing is just really stylish. It's great fun also, but wow it's tough. It felt really rewarding making progress and eventually completing it.

I sort of found the auto-scrolling to be unnecessary. It often times slowed me down. I realize it's just personal preference, but I found it to be more frustrating than fun. I also had a lot of trouble with the medusa heads. I think maybe their hit boxes could be smaller.

I was playing with a gamepad for most of the game, but the last level I ended up having a lot of trouble jumping ladder to ladder. I think maybe I was experiencing a bug.

Really nice work, it's an astounding game.

ASTEROID SHOWER by EV3R4 2021-04-29T09:53:27Z

I love the retro graphics and audio. I had fun with it but I had a lot of trouble surviving. The perspective made it pretty hard to tell when something was actually going to collide. Death often seemed unavoidable to me. It's entirely possible I'm just very, very bad at it, though

Dungeon Painter by IanTheBee 2021-04-29T12:17:48Z

Really great idea, I had a lot of fun with it. I like the neon glowy aesthetic. It would be cool to have other abilities that might highlight larger areas. Falling from a height or something causing a splatter of paint, for example. My only critique would be that some of the sounds get a little old, namely shooting, and that the death sound is sort of terrifyingly loud.
