Wow! Really nice looking game!
Incredible! The style is super duper cute and the music is tight and goes so well! Only thing I ran into is while playing on keyboard I was unable to press "enter" to try again, had to refresh the page. But BIG props, this was a great play no doubt.
This is amazing! Like another commenter mentioned, I can't restart by pressing enter, which was frustrating. However, otherwise? This is AWESOME. The music is great, the style is adorable, and the little "you beat the level" jingle is *perfect*. Very impressive game!
So cute! Can't believe you completed this in a weekend!
Fantastic entry! Had a blast playing it. The music and sound is great, its a tad floaty when jumping but still great fun to control and run around. The only issue I had is pressing Enter on the keyboard wouldn't pause the game, but the start button on my xbox controller did. Otherwise downright fantastic!
I really liked this game! The music is cool and goes well with the world. Also the graphics are dope. It was kinda hard to play with an azerty keyboard but controls were really responsive tho!
It's absolutely amazing experience for 3 days! Really loved the visuals!
This is amazing! I had a little trouble with moving the camera, but overall I need this to be a longer game ASAP!
suuuuper clean art, fun gameplay! running around with the drill and shooting feels great, and all the sounds work well for the mood. if i had any issues it would be that jumping can sometimes feel a bit too floaty, but i don't think it's such a big problem.
Super nice game!Dont know why the camera was so sensitve to my mouse move(firefox) The rest looks super polish. Best of luck!
The presentation is incredible! Love the designs and animations and stuff. The controls did feel a little slippery though, and it was tough to aim the weapon with the same stick as movement.
I love this. The look, the feel, its a tremendous work of art.
I did have trouble with the camera movement it was really sensitive to every mouse move I made, I even turned down my mouse's dpi. Bats were a struggle to deal with. And the Enter button on Keyboard did not function so I could not restart the game without closing and re-opening.
Absolutely love the art style. The gameplay makes me feel really nostaligic for oldschool platformers; I'd play a full game of this.
Hey Y'all. Went again and fixed that Enter glitch. Trying not to touch it very much. Thanks for the kind words and critique!
this is soo good, it looks super pretty and its really smooth and responsive to play, really enjoyed this
Breathtaking!! the art? cute and solid as hell. gameplay? awesome!! Could it be that you implement an aid for landing on the moving platforms? 10/10 The music and sounds are astonishing. levels where kind of... shapeless? what they were really fun.
I loved the art style! Really good animations and simple effects that really worked well together. I wish I had a controller nearby to play it with. It gave me a hat in time vibes, but with a more cohesive art style. Good job!
I cant believe you guys did this in just 3 games, is amazing, love the graphics, they are beautiful, is a little bit hard to move, but is nice overall!
Very Very cool game. Fantastic look and art! Had to use a controller because of the sensitivity being so dang high but it still ended up being pretty sensitive. Other than that, the game is gorgeous and some of the stages have really fun designs. This is a solid entry especially for a Jam game! Color me impressed, great work!
Fun game, the artwork is really well done. But the mouse sensitivity is insanely high.
Adorable animation and art style, catchy song, and everything. Only slight thing is the jump is hard to control. Really great though!
That was super cute! Controls were a little bit hard to use for me (as others have said, high sensitivity, and I also had troubles aiming my jumps, since I'd frequently slide off). But I really enjoyed it, it really feels like a full-fledged game. Goes well beyond what I expect for 3 days of work.
This game is absolutely adorable. I had a lot of fun with it. The art style and character design is so good. The characters are super cute. The sound and music is also excellent and fits nicely.
I had some trouble with aiming and found enemies had a bit too much health. I would have liked to start levels with full health and only take damage from falling into the abyss. I also thought it was a little punishing having to start over upon death.
Even so, I had a blast. Great work on it.
The game is no doubt incredibly well made, but jumps are too floaty and easy to miss. I couldn't clear more than 2 or 3 levels before getting booted to the beginning because I failed to jump on a column with an insta-death void around it. Maybe it's better with an actual joypad?
Love the art style and the music, though, it's something I'd see myself buying on Steam if it ever gets developed into a fully fledged game. Nice work!
wow first things first this game is an incredible accomplishment made in just a weekend! great artstyle and overall mood. That said, i wish the controls were a little less sensitive. the jump was also incredibly floaty without enough air control so itd be difficult to make any sort of precise jumps. the camera controls could also be a little less jerky as that caused me to fall off the map or run into spike pits. all in all though an really well made game. very ambitious and it paid off!
This is NICE!! Wow... well done. I love the music as well. Super special art style but I personally like it. Plays a million times better with gamepad!
IMO improvements: * Controls are a little bit too sensitive / too much air control, etc * It is VERY punishing that you always start from the beginning with nothing. Slightly too hard for me. * even though I love the "sucess" music tends to be a bit annoying. absolutely LOVE it's fail pendant when you fall down the level.
Very good production quality! Nice graphics and sound! But I had some troubles with: - too sensivity mouse control; - too difficult catching the key in level 2.
But it's realy nice work!
Beautiful! Loved the *softer* elements of this game: the art and the music.
It looks like a few other people agree that the controls are a little off. I actually love platformers that some people would call "floaty" or "unresponsive," like N++. Being more charitable, I would call them... "momentum-centric." I think my beef with the controls here stem from the fact that on the ground, the character turns on a dime, while air control is very low. It's realistic, but it's not what most people would expect. Funnily, I did this exact thing in LD44 and [got the same criticism](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/meltup). The instadeath pits are also pretty harsh, and I feel that the gun could have used a liiittle bit of autoaim.
The modular level generation was a great idea, though! Would love to see more of that in 3D platformers.
This was sooo fun! I love the visuals, everything looks so cute. The music/sounds are nice and fit with the mood of the game. The controls are a bit too sensitive as others have already said. It's incredible that you did this in such a short time. Amazing work!
This is some really inspiring stuff you've managed to put together in a weekend, polished outcome despite ambitious combination of elements. I hope you've considering pushing the project further.
Super impressive aesthetics and content volume. I am very curious about the process and tools you used to create this. I really wanted to keep playing the game but its extremely punishing, and success didn't feel satisfying enough to justify that. Just having to restart from level 1 every time was a "feelsbadman" moment, where with some tweaking could tun into a "I got it this time!" moment.
However my biggest complaint is with the combat encounters. It felt like a chore clearing the level of the enemies. There was no way to get around them, just, run, turn, shoot, run, turn, shoot + not being able to move the aim reticle off the 2D plane was frustrating. Having some sort of targeting system would help a whole lot.
Even with the design flaws in the game (which I think are pretty straightforward to remedy) I think the technical achievement is massive! I'm blown away by the unique art style, procedural generation, and scope/scale of this for a 72hr jam. You should be very proud of yourselves!
I don't even know how you managed to pull this one off in 3 days, but if you keep going you could have a very compelling platforming. Not sure if roguelike is the right direction for this, it felt like it was gonna be a classic 3D platformer that this world sorely needs right now, but oh well.
I will say, however, the jump needs a lot of work - it's very slidey and floaty and hard to judge your distance. Look to games like Hat in Time for what a perfect jump feels like. This game also could use some sort of z-targetting for airborne enmies. There's a lot of bells and whistles to this game, but it needs more focus on getting the platforming basics down.
Overall fantastic effort and I really want to see this team go all the way with this. You're already extremely close.
Controls could benefit from a bit more polish in a post-jam version as it's quite hard to aim at the moment. That said it's rare to see 3:rd platformers on LD, so it's cool that you went for that.
Music and graphics are colorfull and upbeat. The wobbly effect on the girls hair when she runs is particularly cute.
the art style is so cute!!very fun experience OMG I really like the character
Audiovisual masterpiece but gameplaywise - very annoying controls at least on keyboard+mouse. I don't understand the purpose of using mouse orbit in a shooter when you can't shoot in the direction you're aiming. If you aim with the mouse, there is no strafing and you can't shoot and go backwards at the same time. I understand that the game was targeted at the controller, but it was possible to replace the mouse orbit with an automatic camera movement like in 3D platformers e.g. Mario 64, and the game would also be playable on the keyboard. Besides, on my gamepad, which works seamlessly in Unity, the second analogue stick can only control the horizontal axis... and by moving it in the vertical axis :) Also the mouse sensitivity is sky high (had to slide it nearly to the bottom) - please tell your testers to switch their mouse DPIs to normal human settings :)
I love the art style to this game. I had some trouble with the controls, The mouse camera movement was too much for me, thank goodness I had an actual gamepad. I also experienced a lot of overlapping music, and I'm not sure if that's because of it being the web version or what.
This is a fantastic start to something bigger if you decide to take it in that direction!
This was a great game. I found it more fun to ignore enemies and not try to fight them. I'm playing on controller and found it a little awkward to fight. Maybe its because the enemies are just as fast as you so getting the proper space to safely engage was usually difficult.
Side note: I love character controllers that have a bit of leniency allowing you to still jump even though you just walked off a ledge a bit. It always feels great.
Wow, the graphics and general vibe are incredible in this game. Some of the nicest and cleanest cel shading I’ve seen in a jam game, and great effects on top of this. The movement and gameplay in general are great too, though I might’ve preferred a but more of a traditional 3rd person shooter style where you always aim “forward”.
