LD48 — Deeper and deeper (18)

The Deepest Dungeon by Susumu Asaga 2021-04-30T21:35:25Z ♥ 2

Cool little idle clicker, the problem is that it's a tad bit repetitive, more variation would be cool, but overall not bad!

Piranha Drama by JudgeClark 2021-04-30T21:29:57Z ♥ 1

Great game, love the art style and how panic inducing hearing the bite sound effect is. Nice job!

Deeper Into Enemy Lines! by Ganny 2021-04-30T21:18:35Z ♥ 1

Wow, really fun and deep for what simple the game is. I enjoyed it a lot!

Last level was tough lol!

Mariana's Trench by mmisspelling 2021-04-29T05:43:35Z ♥ 1

Very atmospheric, but I wasn't really sold on the ending. Aside from that I enjoyed what I've seen though. Nice!

Super Drill Diver! by Cornflowerblue 2021-04-29T05:35:30Z ♥ 2

The game is no doubt incredibly well made, but jumps are too floaty and easy to miss. I couldn't clear more than 2 or 3 levels before getting booted to the beginning because I failed to jump on a column with an insta-death void around it. Maybe it's better with an actual joypad?

Love the art style and the music, though, it's something I'd see myself buying on Steam if it ever gets developed into a fully fledged game. Nice work!

Mrs. ScubaMan by Shaolin Dave 2021-04-29T05:20:41Z ♥ 1

It's not perfect but I think it's a bit better than you give it credit for. But, of course, it does seem like it would have benefitted from a few more hours in the oven. The whole game loop isn't all that engaging or challenging: I ended up hitting obstacles on Mrs. Scubaman's ascent on purpose at some point because I wanted something else to happen (only then I found out this game had a lose condition).

Descent mechanics aren't very good either since you'll almost always get stopped in your tracks by the platforms/obstacles, some mechanism to make movement more agile would complement making the obstacles themselves more interesting and varied than a mere annoyance you have to go through every time you touch one. You know, make a risk reward dynamic for getting gold vs. losing life, oxygen or something of the sort.

On the plus side, I like the presentation and minimalistic graphics, and I thought the game over screen was a bit funny. Jams are very time constrained and we shouldn't expect masterpieces everytime (my game suffers from a lot of easily fixed issues too because of the 3 day limit), so don't beat yourself too much over it.

Very well done puzzle game. Is there a leaderboard? I inputted my name but it didn't show up anywhere.

Hadal Depth by RAC-Games 2021-04-28T21:53:06Z ♥ 5

It was very fun, nice job!

Down To Hell by IkerNoya 2021-04-28T07:52:54Z ♥ 3

Super cool game, but weapons feel too weak and short-ranged for the number of enemies the game throws you. I only cleared it by cheesing the last two levels by staying in the corridor, getting the enemies intentionally stuck.

Nice Fall by Nice Gear Games 2021-04-28T05:02:01Z ♥ 1

Cool game overall, but it would be nice to have a depth indicator to be able to compare where you are exactly vs. the opponent.

Cavity Tycoon by Roberto Romao 2021-04-28T04:04:44Z ♥ 1

This was great! The only problem really is having the game suddenly tell I won, the "win" rate grows up too fast while I wanted to keep playing (I actually played 4 or 5 times in a row trying to explore but got disappointed every time I won too fast). Make the game more long lasting, maybe tweaking how the victory condition works (change it to population?) and this is a winner. Also, you could implement a full view of the map once you win/lose so you could see all the structures you built on some poor soul's cavity filled teeth.

Infinit Pachinko by BrianGlassman 2021-04-27T20:33:56Z ♥ 1

How about a game of lucky hit?

Fish'o'gram by Amolker 2021-04-27T06:34:05Z ♥ 1

I give it full marks on most rating categories, this was really well done! I enjoyed the whole upgrade sub aspect even though I was soon making obscene amounts of money too fast. The atmosphere and gameplay are great.

Damn, that's deep! by Falke 2021-04-27T06:24:11Z ♥ 1

I found the game to be simple and fun, but the transitions between levels are too jarring, and I didn't even get it was supposed to be me going inside a hole down to the next level until I read the comments section.

It's a winner game if you make the level progression follow each other naturally!

Submarine Adventure by bflatinteractive 2021-04-27T06:18:11Z ♥ 1

Great atmosphere, this would benefit greatly of a more robust set of gameplay rules though. Awesome entry!

Just Defuse the Bomb!! by AndrewDavidJ 2021-04-27T03:59:32Z ♥ 1

This was such an atmospheric game, but I feel like I'm too dumb to get it lol. I definitely need to spend more time with it.

Gold Digger by ThatmanRobin 2021-04-27T03:31:20Z ♥ 0

Fun stuff, but I'm not sure if I'm just not qualified to operate the drill, but I fell and couldn't get the drill back anymore. This feels like a great concept given a day or two more of polishing, not bad at all. I especially like the models and the game's look :)

PogoFall by Taek 2021-04-27T03:03:29Z ♥ 2

Woah, great stuff, the pogo stick mechanics are on point. Please extend this game into a full release!
