The itch.io link is dead :frowning2:

lifeforce 2021-04-27 02:11

@famicon80 thanks for the pointer! I didn't realize my page was still on draft...

Nicely done! I had fun, and after a bit I was like "these guys should be aggressive" then they killed me xD

gno-evenimente 2021-04-27 07:58

Cool game! Those guys with the harpoons are ruthless. Loved the NES graphics.

Very cool graphics, made me real nostalgic for my old MAME days, haha. The enemy patterns and variations (black divers that collect coins and red divers that shoot you) made it very exciting despite it being rather simple. I do wish there was sound effects or music, that would've really helped to sell the arcade-y feel. Great job!

Heyo, thanks for submitting your game to the stream the other day! Here's the vod if ya wanna rewatch, I hope my feedback was helpful!

@thatmanrobin thanks for the feedback! I'm glad they actually posed a threat for once haha.

@gno-evenimente Thanks. Glad you liked the art, it's frankly my favorite thing about it.

@nice-gear-games Yeah, I kinda ran out of time and sound was in the bottom of the to-do list. It's great that you liked it but truth be told, the level isn't very well designed as I made it so the bottom half of the stage will have much less enemies than the top half. I think it all went well considering this is my very first jam and I never touched godot before, though. Thanks for the feedback!

@justcamh thanks for taking your time to do this, it's much appreciated not only from me but by the whole community.

I like the arcade style! Good job!

simpathey 2021-04-29 02:45

I liked the style! Next step I think would be to add some sound and music, great job!

brett-nz 2021-04-29 18:24

was fun

judgeclark 2021-04-30 07:36

This has got ZX Spectrum written all over it .. great job, a "Crash Smash" :)

lifeforce 2021-04-30 21:21

@hybitous glad you enjoyed it, the focus was getting that arcade feel down, thanks!

@simpathey thanks for playing it on stream but you went too soft on it lol

@judgeclark really appreciate it, though I guess I'm cheating on number of colors if I'm competing with ZX Spectrum games haha

Cool little retro arcade inspired game

gorethumb 2021-05-04 05:06

sorry it took so long to drop a comment. overall awesome first game on a modern engine and you are coming from the assembly days how crazy is that? issues encountered, the death and reset of enemies wasn't present which made it a bit harder than expected and sometimes the enemy projectiles wouldn't kill me. but overall i am excited to see more games from you

gabryelamartins 2021-05-08 00:45

Loved the retro graphics, really fun! When I died and respawn i became a little bit confused because i was in the same spot that i died, was not especting that

jacic 2021-05-11 21:43

A nice, classic arcade experience. Well done!

pixelandy 2021-05-18 02:12

Awesome retro style graphics, movement is nicely paced as well. Possibly have a death animation of some sort.
