I love the juice in this game. Screen shakes when firing, the epic(ish) slow motion death animation when you get taken out by a bat, etc. I'd be curious to see who gets the farthest! My only concern is that it seems whether or not the player does well is more up to chance than skill as the way the bats randomly spawn could work for or against you.

Good look, feel and sound! Birds could be slower - it was kinda hard, but who am I to say, everyone tells me my game is unbeatable :D

I really liked this game, the art, music and feel are all really well polished. The only thing holding this game back, in my opinion, is that the game is a little too hard. Maybe having a auto fire or some indication from where the bats are coming from offscreen would be nice.

I LOVED the music and the pixel art! Also I think that the enemy appears very fast and is a bit difficult to shot and aim that... but I liked it :)

Hello! Music is awesome and the pixel art as well! This is just sad the game is way too hard, as said before, birds should appear slower. Also, a tip for your next jam :) Write the controls somewhere, even if this is intuitive and mouse-only!

I really enjoyed the art, animation and music, that go perfectly well together, this is very beautiful!

But your game is waaaaaay too fast for my poor skills! I kept trying for a good time, but I keep dying very quickly without being able to do anything after four or five successful shots. This is a bit sad, because I think I could have enjoyed the game if I had been able to live longer.

Maybe you should have set the scrolling speed to a lower value at the start, and have it increased as the time passes. It would allow bad players like me to enjoy the game a bit longer, and add a difficulty curve to the game.

This is a great entry however, very clean looking (this is so far from what I have done on this aspect, I am really amazed). Really good work!

Simple but very well polished, I really like the visual style and the feel of the game. I feel like it is a bit too difficult, as sometimes the birds were kind of hard to see and react to in time.

Most of the bats come at you way too fast, I think some sort of indicator on where one will appear would make it a bit easier. Nice job on the music and sound effects, they really fit the mood well.

Needs a bit more work. Enemies are hard to dodge and some of them can attack you from below, which is pretty cheap. Maybe slow everything down and gradually speed things up would also work, so you get some time to get used to the challenge.

Definitely is a bit hard right out the gate. Style is amazing, but gameplay needs some polish. - Early enemies come in super fast and are very small. Make them slower and bigger early in the game so players can ramp up in their skill. - I would've loved the ability to jump. I felt so.... static. - Upgrades please!

Very fast, I had trouble with some of the initial enemies. Also at least for me, the cursor was kind of shaky which made it hard to feel like I was in control of the aiming.

I really like the graphics, sound effects, and other stuff -- the presentation is really nice, would love to see a version that's slightly easier for people like me with bad reflexes :sweat_smile:

I agree with the others, the enemies come at you too fast, and sometimes from below, obscured by the graphics.

Otherwise it looks really nice, love the parallax scroll, it gives an amazing sense of depths and the colours are well choosen. Just adjust the enemies a bit and it can become a great autoscroller!

Like the others - I like the idea behind the visuals, but found the enemies too fast and unfair. The only way I could succeed was by spamming shoot, which was pretty rough on my ears. I like neon shark's idea of larger enemies at the beginning.

I agree with other comments, it's really beautiful, but way too hard ! The enemies are really fast, come two at a time and are sometimes barely visible... But great job on the atmosphere, and the screenshake on the shot is a nice touch :)

I had fun with it. I love the art style and retro music/sounds. It really looks great with the parallaxing.

But wow is it tough... My poor index finger... The bats come out from way too close and move really fast. My reaction time just isn't sufficient. I'd love to be able to hold down to rapid fire and maybe have a little more camera distance.

Good work on it, though. I enjoyed it even with the difficulty.

Wow i couldnt get farther past 210 meters. but i dissagree and see that as a feature and not a bug. that being said were this a completled/shared/potentially profitbale off of product, yea ur gonna want easier modes. but for now that was a ton of fun! the music is great. also it almost sort of felt like a rhythym game, not in that it was, but had the spawn patterns of the bats been in time with the music that woulda been cool.

The game was definitely really cool, and it looked great.

The problem was the same with others was it was extremely difficult. Along with that when you hit the enemy it just disappears without any cue that you hit it so it along with it being fast and difficult. It took my brain a small bit to realize if it was dead or not. Also I had issues with the enemies coming from below, so I could barely see it since its blocked by the rocks before it was too late.

I agree with some of the previous feedback: the enemies move very fast, and their spawning locations are sometimes so far off to the top or bottom you can't see them until you're dead. All that being said, the graphics and sounds are adorable, and I love the cart just rolling on after dying. This looks like it could be easily expanded upon to be a fun, compact game.

I wasn't able to make it super far, only 211m after a few tries.

The shooting was satisfying and I liked the art style.

I did have enemies come right along the ground some times which was difficult, made more so because they would display behind the track making them hard to see.

I think it would have been nice to start slightly slower and then ramp up in difficulty.

Overall well done, good job. :thumbsup:

This game looks really cool, and has a lot of potential. Unfortunately it's way too hard! The furthest I made it was 344 after about 10-15 tries.

The speed of the enemies is too high for their random attacks, and sometimes they attack from below, where it's impossible to react to. If they attacked in the same pattern for every run, it may be forgivable because we could learn the pattern and adapt. The easiest thing to do would be to lower their speed, but a cool idea may be to set the random "seed" to a new number every day, so there's a new daily challenge! Then we can try to learn the attack patterns and work our way up to higher scores!

The level of potential here is super high. Gun power ups, enemy variations. It can basically become an on-rails shmup! A jump button could also be a cool feature to consider!

The screen-shake for every shot may be "overkill". Consider using it for taking damage, or causing damage, just a thought.

The art, the style, and the music are very good!

Hi! The game's nice although, as a lot of players around here, I think the game's to hard, at least for me. As one mentioned above, I think success is more up to luck than skill. But very nice pixel art, parallax and music!

Nice little game, but extremely hard! You sometimes can't see the birds approching when they come from the bottom. At first I was startled by the camera shake ahah but that's a cool effect! I liked the color palette and the audio, good job for this game :thumbsup:

I do love the aesthetic you've set up for this - the palette is beautiful, and everything in it reads well! The sound effects are nice to listen to, and the background music is enjoyable! Everything about difficulty has already been said, and I wasn't able to get too much further.

Still, this is a really strong base for a game, and the visuals are delightful! With a little bit of tweaking, I think you've got a really strong game here that I'd love to play for such a cute aesthetic!

As far as a jam goes, great work~! ☆☆☆☆☆

Needs to work on spawning enemies. When two birds appear both from below and from above at the same time, it is almost impossible to shoot them. I just had to shoot into the void, ahead of the curve.

The visuals and the feel of the game (sounds, screen shake and t hings lake that) are very nice! The game is a bit hard/unforgiving. I got around 250 m and it wasn't because I was good at hitting the enemies, but because I had the luck to hit them. If they spawned a bit less frequently and had a lower speed I think it would be a really fun game! Great overall though! :D

The enemies are unfair, it's very disheartning getting whacked by a bat zipping at you from outside your screen less than ten seconds in..

The graphics and colours are very nice!

Really nice color palette choice. Also the parallax was a nice touch. Not a crazy ambitious submission or anything, but the gameplay was super straightforward to learn. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to give the player a bit more time to react to the enemies as they moved way too fast for me when they came from the front (though the top ones weren't so bad).
