eh its alright
Not very unique but it was ok.
I really liked the movement tho :D
Nice game. Graphics are great. You could add more sprites for asteroids.
I really like the that retro feel. Feels like playing those old NES/MD-DOS infinite space flying games. It gets pretty tough later on, but I had fun. And I think this kind of game is idea for an LD entry. It is fast and easy to understand.
really appreciate the comments!!!! i hope to edit the game a litte like add more sprites and tweek the later difficulty but will leave that until voting is closed
Congrats on completing the second jam! Sometimes it's even harder than the first one. Good stuff that you've made enough content in your game, different kind of obstacles, shooting, and even sounds and music. It's simple, engaging, and fun. And most importantly, it's a complete game.
@a333 big love for your comment. made me feel proud of this game even more!!!
Congratulations on your second jam! I enjoyed the game. The controls have an interesting out of control feel to them. It got pretty hectic towards the end (in a good way). It was nice being able to wrap around the screen to avoid asteroids.
It would be neat to have some power ups and maybe health/lives. Glad to hear you're going to keep working on it.
Nice work, and good luck with your next jam!
@arancutter thank you for your feedback and I'm really glad that you enjoyed our game especially the wrap around mechanic as some People found it a little weird at first 😀
It's ok. Cooldown on the gun probably need a meter, and some particle effects are probably in order for the asteroids when they explode.
Thank you for the feedback. I think that the addition of a meter for the gun would be good and will implement that once the jam is over. As for the particle effects, we decided to prioritise other things ahead of them while in the jam due to time although they are definitely something we would.like to add after aswell
I feel like this is a bit out of date, I am a sucker for a decent retro game, but it looks like this needs some polish. The music was a bit too repetitive, but the back and forth dodging motion got me hooked. I was able to master the mechanics and get decently far. Staggering the asteroids and rotating them a bit so they feel more natural and random would be good.
A good entry! The sprites (particularly the asteroids) are well done, and the core game loop is strong.
I think things would feel a lot more satisfying if they felt faster. The ship moves very quickly left to right, but the speed of the scrolling background makes it feel like the ship is moving forwards at a crawl. The slow recharge rate of the rocket contributes to that, too.
Love the graphics! I agree with @larsdu about a cooldown meter. Also maybe the shooting stars(?) could have a more muted color since they don't affect play. I was originally trying to avoid them.
@pennycook the slow moving background was intended to give the impression of distance as stars dont move much in the background due to them being far away although i can see how this can make the game feel slow and we will take another look at the speed of the background and see how a faster one looks.
@evn thank you for your feedback! the shooting stars do actually kill you if youre hit by them, they are small but fast! obviously you are a master of the games as you didnt die to one so well done!!! as for the meter, we will get one added after the jam is over :)
Nice little game. Player movement feels kinda weird and the shooting is really slow. Being able to shoot faster and having the asteroids have maybe a few hits to blow them up would feel nicer. It would also be nice to get some feedback when an asteroid is destroyed. An explosion animation for them could add some good feel to the game. Overall a nice game though, good work for your second game jam!
the movement and slow shooting were deliberate decisions as we wanted the game to be focused on avoiding rocks and using your shots wisely. i do aggree with the idea f having feedback on destroyed asteroids though. thanks for the feedback
I like how the screen loops, so going off screen takes you to the other side. There could definitely be a bit more variety with the asteroids, maybe some could be larger or smaller than others. The music was pretty good too!

Nice game!
A simple and fun game. I found it a little difficult to control the rocket to dodge the asteroids, and because there is a little delay before I can fire again. But it's a good game. Congratulations to the developers.
