This looks good, would like to play if you update the link let me know :)
Looks fun, but at this moment just looks...
You graphic soo cool! Adorable character) I really want to play this game!
We need a game link! :(
sadly no links, the picture looks so nice
I apologize everyone, after long hours of coding you only want to hibernate and stay in bed, and I completely forgot to add a way to play the game, my bad. Problem solved now.
the visuals are pretty cute! i felt like there was too much delay between pressing X and the attacks actually beginning, and, though maybe this was intentional game design, i felt frustrated that i couldn't move while attacking. at the very least, i should start moving again after releasing the X button if i held the arrow key down, but it seems like i have to press the arrow key again after releasing X.
also, the elevator gave me a choice for whether to go down or not, and i'm not quite sure why. is it that you have the option to stay on the easier levels to grind more gold before going down to the harder levels?
The art is really good, I found that the attack delay wasn't really an issue. It reminds me a bit of games like Castlevania with needing to actually stop and attack very deliberately rather than running around spamming it.
I think it could use a little more visual feedback on when hits are landing on the player, and moving the player's health bar to a static location on the screen would help to make sure it doesn't disappear among the skeletons or generator.
Nice game art, I like the way the beard is moving! :D On the other hand the controls and gameplay could be polished a bit more.
Visually looks great! There's a lot of content here with the shop and the various possible upgrades. The attack delay from when the button is pressed to the actual attack could be reduce. Nice game, with some polish it'll be a great game!
@sakura-magika Thanks for the feedback, I really appreciate it. I do agree that the controls could be tweaked a bit more, but at one point I had the player being able to move and attack at the same time, but it made the game way easier, you just went swinging all over the place and everything just died, that's why I changed it. Regarding the option to "Stay" at the current level, it is to grind more gold, but you have to decide: stay at a level where it is safe but you get less rewards, or risk it by advancing. Anyways, thanks for trying out the game:)
My first thought is why I have that hand pointing to the square on the right. I couldn't find out why until I advanced to another floow. Looks like it is pointing to the current floor I am. It seemed a bit weird. Visually it is awesome though! Like the graphics and animations. Good job!
Game looks good. It was a bit confusing to play. I'm not sure when I should be going deeper so I just kind of did it as soon as I could. Definitely would be even better with some sound effects. But I know the struggle! :p. Good job!
Visually awesome, and took a bit to get used to the controls (as others have mentioned with move/attacking).
I noticed in one run the elevator and shop text seemed to have swapped, and I did find it funny when the skeletons had blocked each other a couple of times (walking into each other)
Awesome entry!
Controls were a bit weird at first but otherwise worked as expected.
Upgrade system was a nice touch. Audio would have helped a lot with the mood, but the graphics were lovely.
That's some beautiful art and animation!! Reaally well done, combat feels a bit stiff, as other said upgrade system is cool and the idea of picking weter or not you are ready to move deeper is really good too. Great job! I liked this one!
Pretty ambitions to create high-resolution hand-drawn sprites for a game jam! Nice looking art.
I had fun with this. I like the art--it's an interesting style. It's neat seeing all the skulls of my enemies on the floor
It was a little confusing starting so far from the generator. Once I got there I was surprised a wave had already spawned, but luckily they were easily dispatched. I enjoyed upgrading and farming the floor, but at first I really had no idea I could continue down at will. I think it might help if the camera was zoomed out a bit.
Nice work, I enjoyed it.
You make this game alone, it's a very nice work. The concept is nice with the upgrading system. I like graphism is yours ?
For an improvement, you could work on a more polish controls.
@florianduf Thanks for the feedback, the art as well the rest of game was all made from scratch by me (no known game engine just a couple of libraries). I agree the controls need a lot of improvement, and I specially have to figure out how to make Box2D physics to feel "solid" and predictable.
You definitely score 5.0 on graphics, beautiful large sprites. It is impressive that you had time to make a game at all considering how polished and smoothly animated graphics is, and that you drew it all. Smacking the undead and seeing their skulls roll was fun. The only problem is I didn't feel much connection to the goal of rescuing the generator, with not always being sure where it is and how much health it has.
Nice graphics for sure. Thanks you build it for web.
