What a fantastic game! Who knew you could get so much atmosphere out of such a simple premise? I definitely recommend playing with headphones on. The soundscape reminds me of riding down a steep hill on a bicycle with the wind in my face. Great job!

azagaya 2021-04-26 11:22

Really nice game, very cool fractal-like mechanic, really feeling you are falling. I like how you quickly discover what to do. I like also that it is so simple to play. Nice Idea on the theme! Very solid entry!

ironicnet 2021-04-26 12:09

Amazing! i really liked the concept and i think reflects the theme perfectly!

zakamana 2021-04-26 14:31

Brilliant, I love all about it.

minibobbo 2021-04-26 15:55

This is a perfect jam game. Does exactly what it is supposed to, simple and polished and super cool. The first time I was confused as to what to do, but after you lose the first time you get it. Then it just gets fun.

Mouse only was a good idea. This is very well done!

jeremia 2021-04-26 18:10

Great game, but at first I did not know what to do.

seanarooni 2021-04-26 21:15

brilliant game. the way the title screen is incorporated into the game, *chefs kiss* sound design really enhances it. It was nice that you kept the sounds simple, it really matches the whole package. sense of speed is fantastic. The only criticism I can think of is that the game gets really difficult really fast between the 30 and 40k area. But I was able to come up with a strategy to improve a little from that point, which is what you want in a game obviously. really nice work.

symbiosinx 2021-04-27 01:34

Brilliant idea!

no-grapes-games 2021-04-27 06:00

Wow. It took me longer than I care to admit to figure out what was going on, but when I did I couldn't stop playing. Really neat and strangely atmospheric little arcade game.

I would love to see download to play offline if possible.

Awesome entry!

maxr00 2021-04-27 06:25

I love this, so trippy! Awesome job, very innovative game

wilsk 2021-04-27 07:31

Nice, really enjoyed the "vibe". Simple but very cool and I enjoyed the technical explanation in your post too.

benjamin-l 2021-04-27 07:44

Wow! This is such a unique concept, and the minimalist audio and graphics work absolutely perfectly!

earlybard 2021-04-27 08:34

Fantastic game. Great work executing a simple concept so well!

sirkovitch 2021-04-27 08:34

GREAT JOB, KEEPS IT UP

shem 2021-04-27 12:43

very simple but really really interesting and original. i wish there were more abstract games like this, i enjoyed it. i didn't get it at first, but heheh, fun anyway when i got the hang of it!!

phafou 2021-04-27 13:19

So simple yet so addictive! I love it!

kirbloid 2021-04-27 13:39

First game I've played this compo that really made me realize all the different ways the theme could have been taken and I've certainly played with this one the most. Really creative take, and the sound and visuals work so well together.

felixmreeve 2021-04-27 13:51

So visceral for something so simple. Great job!

flatgub 2021-04-27 16:21

Oh my goodness this is genius!! At first I didn't get it but after like, 10 seconds I was in love with the idea, its brilliant! Absolutely incredible on every front, the presentation, the idea, the execution, its so simple and yet so well done!

gibss 2021-04-27 18:00

Brilliant bite size game. It's great to see jammer's use the jam to explore really clever concepts like that.

pedonho 2021-04-27 18:36

PERFECT!

archie-evans 2021-04-27 20:01

OVerall amazing, well done!

becher 2021-04-27 21:22

Realy simple concept but very innovant and well done ! So a good idea for ludum dare ;)

bokonon 2021-04-28 00:46

This game was super unsettling in an amazing way. Really, really cool

tim77 2021-04-28 03:17

Best game I've seen yet in LD48!! Super original mechanic. Hoorah for true originality! :) I wonder how it can be improved? Perhaps the line qualities change over time? Or you can modulate the difficulty by directing the line over powerups? Really great stuff. Rating you super high!

brainloaf-studio 2021-04-28 07:22

Wooooah. Simple and original in the best way. Had a lot of fun just messing around with the different letters at the beginning and trying to develop a sort of strategy to survive. Was able to wrack up over 500k+ points after discovering a method lol. Very cool.

le-slo 2021-04-28 10:02

This is awesome. Super simple concept, but the presentation and specially the sound design, is top notch, this is a great example of a perfect jam game, "straight" to the point and unique. Congratulations!

twbst 2021-04-28 13:42

vibe :v:

raynilar 2021-04-28 15:04

I started this game without seeing the control instructions and very much afraid that something would go wrong. But I immediately figured out how to play and I absolutely love it! Very simple mechanics, but I have not seen this before and it was really interesting for me to play.

sam-bigos 2021-04-28 15:07

This basically ticks all the boxes for amazing jam game. Nails the theme, super simple premise amazingly executed. Top dollar, nice one.

nyanpierre 2021-04-28 15:43

score : 15558 I love the idea ! its short but intenseeee ! Really nice game

boxedmeatrevolution 2021-04-28 16:13

Really creative idea! It feels like diving into a fractal. Well executed and polished.

filgru 2021-04-28 19:07

Wow! Awesome idea for a game. My eyes hurt from staring at this line, you can't blink :) My top score was almost 48000! I love the sounds. Great job!!

ava-skoog 2021-04-28 19:26

Nice to see the final product with the lose state in place! Still very cool. The audio adds a lot too, I like how it's kind of spooky ๐Ÿ‘€ Making the text itself the level is also a great touch. Simple but so good!

jake-white 2021-04-29 01:50

This is one of my favorites so far for sure. My mind is blown at the concept and the level of polish. The fact that the high score is reused as the "level" for the next game is so cool.

david-u 2021-04-29 08:47

Simple concept, super playable. Makes you want to keep beating your score like any good game of this genre.

ghost-wave 2021-04-29 12:42

Woaw this is a really great game, good job!

dude-the-hero 2021-04-29 18:05

Remarkable! The fact that a jam game was able to give me an adrenaline dump less than a minute into it is surely an achievement! Bravo!

peco 2021-04-29 20:34

The idea and the graphics are soooo cooooooool :D

albertnez 2021-04-29 21:58

Love the concept. I also appreciate you shared the technical details of the game. Simple yet powerful.

The smoothness of kill screen into the game is very creative!

wizard-sino 2021-04-29 22:01

Once i figured out what i was supposed to do and how to do it, i was really exiting.

kotzi 2021-04-29 22:02

Amazing game, it feels great when you understand what to do. Congrats!

ruruie 2021-04-29 23:53

One of my two top games this LD. Incredible what's been done with so little.

yorsh 2021-04-29 23:55

That's the kind of genius idea that let you spend 1h on gameplay and 20h on fun "pointless" effects. I'm jealous. Also the result is amazing.

rosypenguin 2021-04-30 05:39

Love the effects and sound design; it is such a trip diving deeper and deeper into a fractal. I can't imagine the technical breakdown of this game and it's truly innovative in my eyes. Great work!

vanleiden 2021-04-30 19:30

WOW! Now that's satisfying gameplay, amazing!!

microchasm 2021-05-01 02:18

It's so rare to play a game with a fundamentally unique mechanic. Such a cool idea, and the effects around are so effective at giving the impression of falling faster. The soundscape really adds a lot to the experience. I love the idea that these pieces of text have so much detail if you zoom in, like going into the roiling mass of the universe at the plank length or something. Dang cool game.

arancutter 2021-05-02 09:12

This game is so cool. It's one of the most creative entries by far. I love how pure it is. You click and you're diving into the "world" itself. It's really a fantastic idea.

Great work!

bomdiajj 2021-05-03 00:52

it took a few tries to understand what was going on, but i just can't explain how this game FEELS GOOD

shawn-moore 2021-05-04 02:48

Ohhh so that's what pixels are made of!

ciaccodavide 2021-05-04 15:50

Very nice idea! Perfect realization.

exilegl 2021-05-04 18:13

Damn, really great idea - don't think I've seen anything like it before. Very exciting to play too.

Here's my high score so far after a bunch of tries (I'm slowly getting better :P)

Screenshot from 2021-05-04 13-09-50.png

As a side note, I think instructions in the description would be a good idea - it took me a little while to figure out how to play.

olddog 2021-05-05 00:48

It so cool  I wonder how you write this code; why this curve can get biger and biger

digital-bacon 2021-05-07 12:34

Really great game. Novel mechanics, retro graphics and I love the sound! Excellent entry!

smbe19 2021-05-08 20:31

Really innovative idea and very fun to play!

marc-grabow 2021-05-11 12:24

I have to admit it took me a few tries to actually understand the mechanics. This is very clever, well done! Amazing what one can do with a little math and GL.Lines!

luke-mundy 2021-05-14 10:35

Like others said, took me a while to figure out what to do but this was neat. kept me entertained for a while

itooh 2021-05-14 16:52

Wow, this is absolutely amazing! The concept is "simple", and yet it quickly achieves to be intense without feeling repetitive. And on top of that the visual presentation and the audio are perfect. I love this impression of unity the game provides. It really is a incredible experience! And congratulation for the technical aspect. Finding the right trick for an infinite zoom can get quickly complex, the illusion is perfect here!
