LD47 — Stuck in a loop

BLOOP by danman9914 2020-10-07T03:20:51Z

This was a genuinely interesting concept! The game is very well done and the game is legitimately funny. I will say the intro and the ending were my favorite parts! A very interesting "simon says"/"memory game"-like!

Kamishibai by Finn Truman 2020-10-06T21:26:02Z

I love this art style and the gameplay is great! this is very polished!

Circular Dependencies by Potti 2020-10-06T20:43:05Z

i thought these puzzles were very clever. I made it to level 4 and the lasers broke my brain! I think the puzzles were well done and I enjoyed thinking laterally between rooms

OOO by Kultisti 2020-10-07T23:36:22Z

I really enjoyed this gameplay loop (no pun intended =))! I was actually really enthralled with how "different" it felt to play facing another direction; also things got crazy pretty quickly and the game always felt challenging

Kosmosrunda by patetfisk 2020-10-06T14:20:40Z

I really love the atmosphere! The level design also felt pretty clever because it allowed me to sequence break things if I wanted to get risky! My only feedback is that I wish I could have restarted whenever, there were times I knew I really messed up and wanted to restart but had to wait until the threshold was reached

Vibe Shard by AploveStudio 2020-10-07T23:42:20Z

I really dig the vibes here! It was challenging at first but once I got into the rhythm everything clicked; I wish there were some more visual and especially audio feedback to actually hitting a note because it took me until i got a "combo" to be sure I was actually doing things correctly. But, I really dug it overall

Fear Of Gears by dev_dwarf 2020-10-06T14:30:03Z

This is incredibly polished and feels great to play! I love the upgrade system and the complexity of choice the debuff element introduced. I wish there was a way to keep track of all the upgrades since I ended up taking so many! The sound design was particularly impressive, as well. Really just a joy to play!

Groovy Loops by Simpathey 2020-10-08T17:08:50Z

This is a neat gameplay loop! I think the idea of building the platformer level as you playing is a novel concept and it was cool to see your exploration of that idea.

A couple of points of feedback: I think it would have maybe "felt" better, if when the player was leaving a clone of themselves, the camera lingered longer and gave some type of audio/visual feedback. Speaking of audio/visual feedback, I think adding some to the jump would go a long way in improving the "game feel"

All things considered though, this was a neat game and a great idea!

That Dream Again by Bokonon 2020-10-06T12:40:52Z

@herman-chau Thank you for the feedback! We've realized that the hookshot is not as intuitive as we had originally hoped. I think players are expecting it to work at any height or speed but it doesn't function really at heights lower than the player. We designed it to be used like a slingshot where you hook onto something while falling beside it, gain momentum, and let go at the correct time (around the apex) to get a slingshot effect.

Like this: GX9cey.gif

This was really helpful feedback though, thank you!

That Dream Again by Bokonon 2020-10-06T22:04:08Z

@finn-truman Thank you for playing. There is no set path! it's just designed to be open ended. We added the compass upgrade at the beginning of the game to add some guidance, but we wanted it to feel like the player was exploring an unfamiliar place, searching for upgrades and learning about the world. We may have leaned too hard into this though! Thank you for this feedback!

That Dream Again by Bokonon 2020-10-06T23:53:58Z

@rhoff95 thanks for playing! Yeah we thought that was the case so we added some items to help navigate but maybe we tucked them away too well!

We’ve also implemented that exact suggestion regarding arrow keys on the post-submission build on Newgrounds

That Dream Again by Bokonon 2020-10-09T17:46:34Z

@dev-dwarf Thank you very much for playing and for the feedback! We implemented this mechanic with a fixed rope that grows with each hook upgrade and we do a check to see whether or not the hook-point is in range.

We attempted to convey this range with a hook indicator that would appear over the hook-point but I suspect this indicator is much too small. This is really valuable feedback and something we will address in a post jam version.

Press The Button by Steventus 2020-10-07T23:52:07Z

Wow! I found myself playing this for far longer than I thought I was going to. You nailed the ~vibe~ for this and the upgrade progression was great! I am not usually a fan of clicker/idle games, but this triggered a response deep in my lizard brain and I played for quite a long time

Beelieve by Diego Teran 2020-10-07T01:17:32Z

This was a really cute game. It took me a moment to realize, not only was it a puzzle, but I also had to be quick with moving my bee! I was expecting a hare & hounds-like and I was not disappointed!

Time Code by Oleksandr Shchavinskyi 2020-10-06T15:14:41Z

The rewind mechanic is very interesting and the puzzles are neat!

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deep Seek by Sheepolution 2021-04-28T16:46:48Z

I really appreciated the cool upgrades like the mask that undoes the blur effect and the flashlight. This was a really neat game and while the core mechanic of swimming isn't all that engaging, the world you built and upgrades to find kept me interested until the end. Really cool game!

self reflection by torcado 2021-04-27T20:45:25Z

You really created some very clever puzzles with this mechanic. Really satisfying to wrap your head around 2-3 layers at once. Super well designed and well executed. I loved this.

Until There Was Nothing by dietzribi 2021-04-28T15:50:02Z

This was a nice experience. I really like the ~vibe~ that was put together here.

Holey Hell by managore 2021-04-28T00:30:14Z

This is a really clever concept and it was executed really well. The shifting ground is beautiful and really adds an interesting wrinkle to the gameplay. A lot of great ideas here!

Nuclear blaze by deepnight 2021-04-28T00:36:06Z

The central mechanic is really polished and feels satisfying. the art is really well done as well.

Infinity Dive by keepee 2021-04-28T00:46:30Z

This game was super unsettling in an amazing way. Really, really cool

Deepest Sword by Strega 2021-04-28T00:25:52Z

It took me over twenty minutes but this was a really cool mechanic. It remined me a lot of Getting Over It. I really appreciate how satisfying you made the "stabbing" feel

Tooth Toss by MadNukin 2021-04-28T02:29:42Z

The sword mechanic feels really great and is super fun to play around with. The sound effects are phenomenal.

As others have mentioned, it is super easy to softlock yourself by getting your sword stuck in an unreachable place. This happened to me in the spider fight, as well as somewhere else early on. Also, it was an interesting choice to allow the player to walk off the level just to die?

Regardless, this game was super fun and really rewarding. Awesome enemy design!

DOWNHELL by Belonzik 2021-04-30T04:17:02Z

Really tight little gameplay loop. I found myself saying "just one more run" several times.

I did run into an issue where one of the maggot enemies somehow wound up in the elevator and I was unable to shoot/kill it or enter the elevator so I was essentially soft-locked.

The visuals are really cohesive and this is nice, polished experience

The Great Machine by zeoxo 2021-04-27T16:26:23Z

This was a really neat setup for a game. The gold system really added an interesting level of complexity. The sound design is really really well done. I really enjoyed my time with this entry

Sleepie Cookie Eatie by fiaKaiera 2021-04-28T01:25:33Z

Really cool game! I really liked the main mechanic and how it fused a dynamic movement element with what felt like a puzzle game.

Stabalot by bw_devel 2021-04-27T15:31:28Z

This was a really neat mechanic and super clever. you managed to make stabbing very stressful! The art is really cute as well, and the sound track is great.

I wish the minigame expanded a bit to become more of a puzzle rather than a speed test (maybe something like curved blades and two openings in each column so that you had to create a path (other than a straight line))

I really enjoyed this mechanic though!

Bunny Bunny Dig Dig by ZakAmana 2021-04-28T01:07:42Z

I am genuinely flabbergasted in the amount of art, music, mechanics, and polish you added to this game in 48 hours. this [lays like a feature complete mobile game. insanity!! well done!

Tap Trick by Salman_Shh 2021-04-28T02:34:35Z

Amazing presentation. The gameplay was superfluid once getting used to the novel control scheme. Really cool game!

Quick Scrap by Vimlark 2021-04-28T00:02:46Z

Lots of polish here! Movement feels fluid and juicy

Ocelot Safari by pancelor 2021-04-28T16:23:40Z

I really found this to be a cool sokoban-esque exploration game and with so few moving parts you really managed to make the game world feel "alive." The ocelot mechanic and day/night cycle were really cool, I enjoyed exploring this game world!

Extreme Deep Sea Fishing! by Sbug 2021-04-28T00:50:48Z

I really appreciated the net mechanic and learning to use it effectively was very satisfying. The controls are fluid and the fish ai is really compelling! I really enjoyed this entry!

BUGGED by Mr.developer 2021-04-28T18:05:05Z

I really liked the artstyle, this game is dripping with a really cool ~vibe~. The mechanics are well polished and feel great to play!

River, Carry Me Away by Noire 2021-04-27T16:19:48Z

The art and music are so well done!

It took me a moment to realize what the actual gameplay was, as the objects floating down the river were not immediately apparent. But with that being said, this was a really nice and relaxing experience!

Red Archer by BadPiggy 2021-04-28T18:08:34Z

I really liked this mechanic and it was super rewarding to get right. Part of me wishes the bow behaved a bit more like a bow and had a "draw time" mechanic or something because as is firing with a fixed delay felt odd at first and took some getting used to. Regardless, I had a lot of fun with this game.

Into the Deep Web by Jon Topielski 2021-04-28T00:43:22Z

This was a really clever idea and a fun auto-battler! I wish there were slightly more things the player could besides bumping dice, but as is, it kept me engaged and the upgrades were really fun. I would love to see a longer version of this game. Really cool entry!

Lower Lower by Bokonon 2021-04-27T21:03:59Z

@iorena thank you so much for playing! We have noticed the game runs very very slow on Firefox(but not chrome or edge), I am just curious if that was the browser you were using? It may be that you were experiencing this performance issue.

Lower Lower by Bokonon 2021-04-28T16:49:37Z

@trusty thank you for this feedback! we had included the ability to navigate with the arrow keys as well, just in case WASD felt too cramped with the Z and C buttons, but I don't think we did a good job of advertising it=) Thanks for playing!

Underneath by HumanIsRed 2021-04-27T20:04:56Z

This was a really fun entry. The main mechanic was very satisfying and new wrinkles were introduced at a good pace which kept the level design fresh and interesting.

So much polish and juice went into this, it's pretty remarkable. The opening cutscenes were fantastic and the game ~feels~ great to play. The sfx & music are also super satisfying

My only criticism is that the "level end" felt a little strange where you could pass through the bubble only to get sucked in when you land within a certain radius.

Really loved this entry though, nice work, all!

Seamoth by Aniebodie 2021-04-28T15:59:07Z

The art here is fantastic, and this a really chill little exploration game.

Down Under by anactualhuman 2021-04-28T15:54:49Z

The controls were very good and the game feels nice to play.

My slight complaints are that it is difficult to be sure which block you are going to break (an indicator would really help) and some jumps that I think are the "correct" way to solve the puzzle(jumps that are made while in a 1 block niche) rely on coyote time as mechanic instead of just a convenience feature.

But all in all, I liked this game!

[HTML5] Bodenhorizont by minotalen 2021-04-30T04:26:37Z

This was a super interesting game, I liked trying to poke at the little ecosystem I was creating to find it's underlying rules. Really relaxing, puzzling, and interesting gameplay loop. I really liked this entry!

LD53 — Delivery

Air Delivery by pianoman373 2023-05-03T03:01:23Z

Wow! what an incredible Pico 8 cart. I loved my journey to the airship, and enjoyed the progession as I explored the small world you created. I wish I could spend more time above the surface!

Superfetch Dog by benjamin 2023-05-07T03:54:02Z

I really enjoyed this entry. Fantastic ramp up in difficulty and I really enjoyed the alternating pattern of upgrades/difficulty enhancements.

This was a really nice polished little experience.

shape shipper by torcado 2023-05-07T04:01:10Z

I loved this idea; it was simultaneously relaxing and stressful to make these shapes. Things really clicked when I realized you could hold multiple items at a time. I really enjoyed this experience, and it felt great to play!

Delivery Drift by Cambryx 2023-05-03T02:51:14Z

Incredible amount of polish, all the little details you were able to add, like screeching tires, the tire marks, the speed cameras all really came together to elevate the whole experience

Maily Melo by Blix 2023-05-05T16:48:35Z

Beautiful entry. So much character and whimsy!

Special Delivery by Ismael Rodriguez 2023-05-07T04:15:18Z

I really enjoyed this game. It's a super chill one(well 3) button experience and a ton of polish and love went into the level design and mechanics. I really enjoyed the slow ramp up of new mechanics.

Overall, a really cool game!

The Pigeon Post Principle by cassowary 2023-05-06T00:38:13Z

Awesome progression of introducing new and interesting wrinkles on the core set of puzzle mechanics. Feels very elegant!

Rhino Express by Mahjoub 2023-05-04T01:16:12Z

Great game. Great art, lots of polish and and I loved the subtle ramp up of new mechanics. I feel like the game really shines in levels 16/17 where everything comes together. I'd love you to keep iterating on these puzzles and explore the whole puzzle space because this was a joy to play!

Chain Mail by AdamCYounis 2023-05-03T02:39:48Z

Wow! this art is so well done. I loved all the details that were put into the character designs and mission texts. Really created a palpable vibe!

Hellfire Pizza by AploveStudio 2023-05-02T14:27:41Z

Neat art style! You managed to create a really great vibe with the gameplay, dialogue, and quest system

Postominoes by Rawb 2023-05-02T14:22:30Z

Very nice game! very relaxing to organize the truck and make deliveries! I really enjoyed zoning out and playing this. The art is nice and everything comes together for a solid experience!

Rover Herd by JHax 2023-05-02T13:28:19Z

This is a really cute game! The way the different animal behave is interesting and creates a unique puzzle mechanic!

Forklift-em-up by BadPiggy 2023-05-07T04:05:18Z

This was a really fun concept, and you made it quite fun to play.

The player controller felt great to move around and the main loop of picking up the boxes to use as smash attack ammo was satisfying! The game looks really good too.

Good job!

Rail Blazer by alanxoc3 2023-05-02T14:17:45Z

This was a really fun concept and I really enjoy planning routes and going on delivery runs! Like others have mentioned, the slow down when building feels like the game itself is lagging and it wasn't immediately clear that his was meant to represent different terrain types.

The art is great too!

Overall, awesome job!

Paddy's Portage by Spacespytv 2023-05-04T01:52:28Z

Clearly a lot of polish went into this game. All the controls feel great, and our pigeon friend feels great to control. Plenty of juice to go around. The main mechanic is fairly interesting. There's definitely more for you to explore with it, gameplay-wise! Cool game!

Mt. Deliverest by QwillaK 2023-05-03T02:38:52Z

Really interesting mechanic and great art!

Buccaneer Mail co. by ChanceA 2023-05-06T16:43:22Z

The pixel art is amazing! the jump of the PC feels really nice!

Dear friend by hmrpf 2023-05-03T03:16:27Z

Amazing art style, maybe my favorite so far. It was interesting how the music and aesthetic were so comforting while juxtaposed to the frantic difficult gameplay. Tried very hard to beat but couldn't quite deliver the letter!

GobEx by WeirdBitGames 2023-05-03T02:43:34Z

I really love the art style, and the main Gob character is super cute! The physics were fun to play around with too!

Delivery Boy by waptaincaffles 2023-05-06T16:38:03Z

Awesome art, love the Philip J. Fry inspired player character! Lots of polish in the game; the cell phone menu is super juicy and it looks amazing

Delivery! NYC by Obe Dot 2023-05-06T00:43:12Z

i keep getting hit by the derailed d train!

Infernal Express by BonzoChuff 2023-05-02T13:31:23Z

Awesome art style! I wish steering were a tad more responsive, but this feels good to play!

Pack It Up by thomaspixelart 2023-05-06T00:24:12Z

Tons of polish on this one! feels really great to play, and easy to get lost in the gameplay loop. Really nice experience all around!
