I like the concept. Controls feel pretty good. Impressive work.

I like the concept. Controls feel pretty good. Impressive work.
Wonderful game! The graphics, music, it fits this jam very well. Hats off best project I've seen so far
The mechanics of slowly building out your rail network to go around delivering stuff was really satisfying. Great job!
Awesome game. Love the name and cool retro style
I liked building tracks, it was easy to understand. I found myself losing if I didn't find another resource in time, and often it wasn't one that was required from the other homes. I found myself trying to be efficient by making a lot of loops, and it was fun trying to save my cash.
Lovely all around, feels like a refined game and nice use of pixel art. Well done!
Smart concept! Feels like there's lots of ways to improve and strategize
Great game! I really like the idea of the track building, spend money to explore and go to new places. The track generation was neat visually, the quest icons were really good in helping figure out where new places are, music and art were very good. Very fun!
Love the concept!!Like the art style too, but how can i get the stone or steel or whatever is that hehe
This is amazing, I'm a huge fan of the art style, music, and gameplay! Just solid all around, very impressive!
Very cure puzzleish game. I liked the combination of exploration and logistics required to play this one. The graphics were great and the music set the mood well. Having the goal be the same money that wes required to progress to the goal was a good touch, it felt that I was working backwards until I had a good network set up and could start just making deliveries. Overall a great game, well done!
Really enjoyed the idea of building out rail networks and then benefiting from them later. It does kind of suck when you make a mistake while building since there is no reverse, but it just makes me want to consider my building more carefully which might have been the intention. Great work! The art and music was really nice too!
Pretty good. A little simplistic one you figured out the best way to win is to just build a loop around the towns. But other then that nice chill game
I love the art style of this game. I like seeing my little train bob up and down. Took a little bit of learning to figure out that building tracks on forest and mountains cost more money. The game is really hard so you might want to balance it a little in the future or maybe I'm just bad at it. Really dug the music a lot. Great job!
Fun game. Most polished and enjoyable I've played so far.
Cleared it a couple of times, great work! Really innovative mechanics here, and a very satisfying game loop. The music was just the right tone for the game as well, vaguely creepy, medium energy... just good exploring stuff. I think I ran into a bug in both maps tho: I didn't get any iron (I assume that's what that icon is). It slowed down my progress quite a bit, as I could only do the third quest one at a time. Overall, this is a fantastic entry!
Wow! Thank you all for the comments. <3
Very polished. Sometimes feels unfairly random and the endgame is maybe a little tedious, but a good idea overall.
@pauldee427 Thanks for giving the game a play. I'm glad you liked it.
The procedurally generated map gives it an extra tasty. Amazing working! The music is perfect and gives it a bit of mistery. The art is pretty good as well! Nice nice nice
@sevla thanks for playing!
What a gem~ I loved it, the game-play was interesting and different, splendid loop! Everything else accompanied the game superbly, like the graphics and music a lot, very neat work on them. I think this has quite the potential to be expanded on!
This game is very good, with the procedural generation making things slightly different each time, and the cool background music. Great game with a lovely art-style.
Super fun game that had me racking my brains for the best way to try to navigate as efficiently as possible and not run out of money. Some of the procedurally generated levels were definitely quite difficult (there was one level where I really couldn't find any sheep for the life of me), but I still definitely enjoyed the challenge.
I love the art style and how it matches up to the theme and the straightforwardness of the game - I think the beauty of the game is how it was easy to understand and visually very clear, but difficult to master (which makes for a fantastic game experience for the player).
PSA for new players: if you're new to the game, keep your loops small at first, and keep your eyes peeled - you never know when a new resource might come in handy...
HAHa, I was bankrupt so many times. Nice game. At first I thought we made the same game. I like the controls. I also like that I don't have to wait for them. Once you get used to them I just held space and chose the direction and off I went. Good job, it was fun.
This a really nice game that feels polished. I can't figure out how to not go bankrupt, but I'm probably just bad at it. If only the train could go backward! I really love the color scheme.
Took a while before the bankrupts started turning into not-bankrupts, it was fun to learn the cost of terraforming the different types of land. It was a cute puzzley little game with cozy and warm visuals, well done <3
Very fun and satisfying game. At the start I did not notice that the cost of tracks changed depending on the terrain.
This would be fantastic to play on the train.
Very nice strategie game ^^ Love the soundtrack and the retro style. Very well done
Very fun a stylish strategy.
Like the concept. Game is simple enough to be understood by experimenting. One thing that bother me is that sometimes you build a track without much 'visibility' of the surrounding. For instance, I was at the top-right corner at start (but didn't know it), and I began a track on the right and was blocked by the boundaries of the level. Other than that, the game looks great, feels great. I like the music and the animations. Great game.
Really great game, feels like something that could be expanded into a full game. Love the visuals & audio. The game felt "laggy" when building, but overall an amazing idea. Great job!
It's fun to play. I like the color palette.
@frey, Thanks for playing! The "lagginess" you're feeling is that digging through certain types of terrain is more difficult than others. I think a particle effect or a special sound might be an addition we can make to make that more clear. Glad you liked our game
Beautiful game and also very interesting and satisfying gameplay. I think that the slow-down when going through some terrain feels quite bad, maybe some other effect would be better. I also feel like some way to figure out where resources spawn, or maybe handcrafted levels would be better as it is very RNG-based whether you will find the correct resources.
This was a really fun concept and I really enjoy planning routes and going on delivery runs! Like others have mentioned, the slow down when building feels like the game itself is lagging and it wasn't immediately clear that his was meant to represent different terrain types.
The art is great too!
Overall, awesome job!
Very nice game. Felt a bit too simple when I got used to the controls, but everything felt polished and snappy (except the slow down when going through some terrain). It was a pretty relaxing experience going through, and I felt like I was never really pressured to make a tough decision because I could just make a loop in the rail and go back. The final result was cool to have a big connected rail line that I could maneuver through to get all the resources and deliver everything. I definitely think the concept could be expanded upon if you were to continue development. Excellent work!
I appreciate the style! I think the idea is really, really cool.
wow such a nice little game, I love the artstyle and gameplay, simple but well done!
Oh- this was great! It took a long time for me to get a seed that seemed in any way possible (or I was just bad...) but once I got the winning seed, I had a lot of fun! I even decided to temporarily forego winning just to optimize my rail, ha!
And wow, procedural generation during a game jam? Bravo!
All around, this was a lovely game. I recorded myself playing to provide as much feedback as possible!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rofNkDzRElQ
This was pretty neat. I particularly like the pixel art. However, after connecting the railway to all of the towns, collecting the $200 was a bit boring and felt like busywork. Victory is pretty much guaranteed at that point, so collecting the money seems a bit redundant.
Great graphics and aesthetics, very pleasant experience overall.
Amazing work ! So clean, easy to understand, great music, great art. It's super easy to create rails. And they are fun to navigate. Only a bit laggy when creating rail sometimes. And I don't know if it's hard or if i'm bad, but I lost everytimes.
Again, fantastic work. Good job !
We also choose Godot 4, so I get that part too :)
I really liked the gameplay loop, and the art looked amazing! I think the biggest problem I had was not being able to find the resources, the game I won I didn't even find the wood on the map, I just completed other quests to get the 200, but other than that I had a lot of fun!
@squimmy Thank you for playing! I agree, things tend to get repetitive. We could have ended it once you collected all resources or connected all towns.
@merdeboi I'm glad you liked the graphics! Shoutout to @greatcadet and @tigerwolf181 who did the graphics.
@hmrpf Creating the rails was pretty tricky to make it all feel fluid. The lag is meant to simulate the difficulty of going through rough terrain. You're right, it's a little unclear. As the game is procedurally generated, it can be a bit unfair some runs.
@adam-gallina Thank you for playing. Some resources can be hidden on a corner of the map or behind a bunch of mountains and just out of reach. It can be frustrating. One way to find those resources is to locate them based on the quests. Quest rewards are based on distance, so you can kind of locate the resources.
Cool idea i like it
Pretty neat! It reminds of a game called Soko Loco Deluxe. But it's also very different
aaaah ok ! Maybe some other feedback would make it more understandable then ! It makes total sens then ! It's a shame i thought this was lagging, maybe something simple could make it clearer though :) thanks for the clarification
Really love the depth in the puzzle design. Also the music and art work well together.
@roalinn Thank you :) @wolderado I'll have to check that game out. Sounds interesting. @eharp Thank you. We had a lot of fun making it.
@waldo, great game. The mechanics of the game were smooth, especially the decision points for changing tracks. The focal points of the game are elegant -- not too much, not too little. I had to try a couple times until I won; I like the challenge. Nicely done!
this was an extremely fun game. i loved building the tracks and even though it took me a few times to figure out how to play it was very satisfying when i delivered my first hat! great job! go godot!
Fantastic game!! It's like a puzzly variant of EuroRails, really nails the delivery theme and is a good experience to boot.
Loved being on the rails, thank you! Not that railroad tycoon fan, but love the trains and railways overall. Maybe, needed some narrative encounters on the road, but the game is quite good as it is.
Web version gives me this msg error: Error The following features required to run Godot projects on the Web are missing: Cross Origin Isolation - Check web server configuration (send correct headers)
I use linux, so I can't try the executable :(
Great job! This was a really fun to play. It's satisfying planning and building tracks. Overall a very solid game.
I really like it I cant say I was very good at it but the idea is super cool also love the use of Godot 4!
@dcvezzani Thanks for playing! I think it's typical for it to tak a few tries before you get a win :)
@paulhocker Go Godot!
@asmadigames I've never played EuroRails. I'll have to add this to the list. (Soko Loko Deluxe was also mentioned as a somewhat similar game).
@ardorugus, Narrative encounters would be so cool! Thanks for the feedback. If we decide to develop this game further, I'm definitely adding that.
@noam-blei Sorry :/ We made the game in Godot 4.0 which is still figuring out some issues with web support. We've noticed issues on certain browsers and the game doesn't work at all on Macs it won't work. Hopefully a different browser will work.
@dongle Thanks for playing
@aderpychickenstudios First off, I love your name. But also Go Godot 4!
Great game - though I did manage to softlock myself with Sheep :)
What a fun time! It took me an incredibly dumb amount of time to realize some tiles cost more than others, which led to a lot of bankrupts while my map challenged mind tried to find places. But the game itself was interesting to play and I enjoyed playing it. We also used Godot 4 for our project and just abandoned the idea of a web build all together. It worked great on web on Windows in Firefox.
Good idea about developing a rail track to connect the resource with the customer. The limitation of 2 cargos makes me strategize about which route should I take for the sake of efficiency (even though there's no time limit in this game). And it makes me feel really satisfied to finally build a track that got connected with all the houses and resources. Good job, love it!
Really pretty graphics! I wanted smoke particles coming off the train though! I thought the small view made really strategizing about what you were going to do difficult. As well, I felt the rail mechanics were a bit underutilized. I wanted something to make me feel like this was a train, and not just a path! Being able to branch and merge anywhere made the movement really unrestricted. Maybe I'm just a train nerd. Cool game though!
@drainkid Thank you! By softlock, do you just mean you ran out of money?
@kinart Haha, that's definitely a good idea. One idea we thought of was showing a "-3" when you go over trees and a "-5" when you go over a mountain. Maybe we'll get to it with future work. Also, I'll check out your game. Love those Godot games.
@pralista What would you think about an upgrade that gave you three carts or starting with just one and upgrading to two? We initially had this planned but couldn't get to it.
@nardandas Thanks for the feedback. Smoke particles is definitely something we missed. I think we could try introducing more restriction by making some mountains that can't be built on. Maybe if we continue work on this.
@wadlo I meant I picked up two sheep, and never got any quests to deliver them anywhere, so I couldn't pick up anything else and get more money
@drainkid Ah, interesting. The quests aren't as visible as they probably ought to be. You'll see a sheep icon on the screen somewhere and have to move toward that to find the city that wants sheep. Or maybe there's a bug. Totally possible with how little time we had to test
自定义路线和开拓运输线这两点非常吸引人
Great game! Love the concept and pixel art.
I found myself cursing at myself for buying tracks i didn't need, just to be more efficient when $$ was to be made. When I saw that $22 sheep offer, oh baby, I just had to get there faster. But honestly, what kinda town only offers $6 for coal? Psh... I could just by-pass them with a new rail line. bwa hahaha My greed almost got me stuck in the mountains.
This was super satisfying on first playthrough. Having it generate a new map every play through makes this great to come back to as well. There's a lot of room here to expand on too, which is exciting if ya'll continue to build on it. great job!
Fun game, great graphics, nice music. Made me think of a cross between a clicker-game, Settlers of Catan, and... some kind of train game.
Even after I "got it," I played until I won because I found it relaxing and satisfying driving my little train around! I also found it unclear at first why my train slowed down at first, but laying track through the mountains quickly made it obvious to me, and I realized it was more expensive! All would change is extra polish to communicate those trade-offs to the player, and a little more celebration after reaching 200!
That was... surprisingly challenging. I wasn't exactly expecting it to be a cakewalk, but I definitely had to be way more careful with my money than I thought I would. Some of the challenge came from not being able to really see how far away particular requests for items were, so I ran out of money trying to reach some a couple of times. Once caught me off-guard having been subject to more expensive rail costs on some tiles. Despite that, though, I quite enjoyed building out that reusable rail network. It was extremely satisfying!
Awesome Game!!! I really really like the gameplay and constrain on the laying tracks. Suggestion: Add more SFX and make different variant houses so we don't get bored
It took me like nearly 45 minutes to win but I liked the music!!!
Good game! The graphics and audio are amazing, as other people had mentioned. Just wanted to mention this game's impeccable cohesion. This polish just makes the game FEEL great, good job!
Nice and relaxing game. Great job, wish you a good jam
Good idea, interesting gameplay. Like it
The game is fun and relaxing! It is very addictive and I can't stop playing it! Great job!
Great art style and interesting gameplay!
Good game. Nice art! Like it!
@stevie257 Thank you. @greatcadet and @tigerwolf181 did the pixel art.
@bodhiagora I love hearing your thoughts as you played. Quest rewards were based on distance from the source city to the target city. We're definitely thinking about expanding the game; at least enough to address some of the feedback we're recieving.
@reef Agreed. We're definitely wanting to improve the communication in the game. The UI hints proved to be tricky to position and we didn't get to all the polish items on our to do list.
@ponygirlluna I like hearing that it was challenging, but after some time, you figured it out. We tried to strike a balance, and it seems like it was well received. Thank you for the feedback!
@random-ideation-studios SFX and some more house variations are always the kinds of tasks we leave for the last day. I would absolutely love if we could add this. Great ideas. Also, wow 45 minutes is a lot of time to dedicate playing a Ludum Dare game. We might have made the end a little too grindy. Thanks for playing!
@digx7 It really did come together. One of our team members spend most of his time on the feel of the game, controls, etc. Our two graphics people chose a palette they'd stick with on the first day to help with the cohesion. Also, seeing as the game was very low pixel, we chose to make the music in Pico-8, which contributes to the "retro game" feel. Past games we've made were done in Pico-8. So while we made this one in Godot, we didn't stray too far from the Pico-8 feel.
@lima-victor Thank you!
@pezdqk Thanks for playing
@smeljey Fun and relaxing is always good to hear.
@5huno-3 @cadetthegreat and @tigerwolf181 did a great job on the graphics! Thank you :)
@kristallllllik ^^^ Thanks for playing.
Really cool game and concept. The art is awesome!
A simple and very complete game!
The graphics are super neat, well done on that front!
The music is chill and fits well, although I missed some sound effects, like the train starting or when you delivered cargo.
The gameplay is super simple yet challenging. I took a while to understand building a track over the forest or rocks cost more, so I went bankrupt. But on my second run I became a train tycoon! It's a nice level of challenge for a jam. Really see potential for a bigger game in this one.
Congratulations!
Nice game! It was fun to play, I liked the chill music.
This is amazing. The gameplay is very fun and engaging. It took a couple of minutes to get used to spending/distance balance, but once I did it got so much fun. The art is very pretty and the overall game feels very polished. I don't really know what to criticize here. Simply gorgeous.
This was really fun to play. It felt polished and easy to pick up, but had a nice level of challenge too. The music was also lovely!
The gameplay in this game is so fun and addicting that I can play it for hours. Good job!
Great work! The controls are really intuitive and the gameplay is really creative. I like how there's the challenge of navigating around forests/mountains. The graphics and audio are also solid. I had some trouble finding certain resources on the map, so some more indication there would be helpful. Very well done!
I really liked the construction-whilst-navigating aspect of this one. The UI was initially a little confusing, but once I managed to build out the network a little bit the mission signposting became a lot clearer. I had fun with this, thanks!
Nice! Easy and fun to play, cute graphics and enjoyable music. I was really excited when I was about to reach the milestone of $200. The "Congrats! You Win! Press [R] to Restart" was a bit underwhelming, though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is such an excellent game! It's so satisfying to play. I love how open it is, you can build tracks literally anywhere you want, and the building system is so intuitive too! The sprite work is great, so is the music. Overall, an amazing job here!
Great idea and gameplay, well done!
Building tracks is a very satisfying mechanic. I like the music and pixel art a lot too!
@noam-blei, I can play the game through the browser. I'm running Arch Linux & firefox 112.0.2. Anyways, platform/browser compatibility seems to be the main issue I have with Godot 4 rn.
@asmadigames, looks like EuroRails is basically the same thing as Iron Dragon. I think they were made by the same people. We loved playing that game growing up and it was definitely an inspiration for this game! It's a very obscure board game as far as I'm aware.
very cool entry!! I kinda wish there was a way to see a full map of the world to make navigation easier, but otherwise I like it a lot!
@vengence Thanks for playing!
@niz Thank you :) The music and sounds were a bit rushed. We started on the music on the last day and couldn't find the time for sound effects. I agree, we might try to turn this into a bigger one. At least finishing up the things we planned. Who knows.
@nsadie Thank you. @alanxoc3 did the music.
@skelleroznik I appreciate your review. We spent a total of over 100 hours over 3 days between all of us. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
@hannah Thank you! Pico-8 music for the win!
@georgy Thank you
@waffleworksgames Yes, I agree! Some resources are super hard to find, and that can be frustrating. It's definitely something we want to address when we go back and update.
@bts So much potential for the build while navigating feature. The rails just combine to form a big track, which is really fun. I'm glad you figured it out. It is a bit confusing at first
@thomas-karcher Apologies! We were rushed  You deserve an explosion of sheep for getting $200. Or at least some fireworks.
@weirdbitgames Thank you! The track building code was one of the more complex pieces. But Godot surprisingly supported what we needed with ease.
@ruslana Thank you for playing.
@tyler-m Glad you liked it :)
@kypello Thank you for the play! We've definitely been thinking about adding a minimap or a map that shows up on a certain key press. That could help with when people can sometimes get stuck.
This was very well made, loved the concept and how smooth it felt to control. Had some issue with some of the generated levels, but managed to finished it with some luck.
Really awesome concept & game, brought me in for quite a while . But it seems like in a lot of instances the maps are unbeatable no matter what you do.
Cool idea! Loved the train animations! I love watching animations! I liked the physics that we slow down when we chop wood.
I like this game so much ,It is cute and funny, this game is my top 3 game in this game jam,I spent so much time collection stuff and build my train network,,nice job
A great entry for the jam. I really liked idea of both building and transporting the goods. The building speed felt a bit off but other than I had a lot of fun and my friend stated that watching was quite fun, so that's also great!
@diego-teran We thought the level generation gave the game more replay value, but like you said, it can sometimes be frustrating to deal with. Thanks for playing!
@markais It can feel like that. Sometimes you have to play a few rounds before you get a really good run.
@vera-babchenko Thank you. @alanxoc3 and @cadetthegreat worked on the train physics and train animations. They dida great job.
@olddog Aw, thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed buliding your network.
@arqcenick Noted feedback. Thank you. I'm glad it was also fun to watch.
Great game. Absolutely amazing that you managed this within a jam. Love the concept as well.
However, I feel like the game really needs you to know where every house and material is on the map, else you're wasting tracks and money trying to find another house or material or elsewhere.
As a result, I ended up in a few unwinnable situations. But either way, the presenation is awesome and it is definitely fun to lay down your own rail network and travel from one building to another
The game has some pretty good minimalistic pixel-art graphics, and a fairly catchy music track. The gameplay was fun, its pretty satisfying to lay down train tracks and complete objectives, however has people have already pointed out, the random generation can sometimes create situations in which the player can do very little to keep playing. The player doesn't infact have that much control, besides choosing where to go (which sometimes is difficult as you won't know whether you'll find a village producing what you need or even anything at all). It also took me a bit to figure out that the slowdown of the train when building on stronger terrain is due to the terrain's cost increasing in forests, it felt a bit like lag, it would of been nice to have some other indicator of the terrain price. But besides this, the game is pretty solid, and also well polished. Well done.
This was pretty interesting and fun. I'm still vibing to the music after playing. My only feedback is that the speed of building rails through obstacles was a bit too slow for me, I kept pressing forward as if that would make me go faster. Great graphics and audio!
I just spent (without realizing it) 45min of playing with this music that will stay in my head all the day. Really congratulations, very good gameplay balance and beautiful realization, i love it! 🚂🛤️
music was niiiiice, also i liked the idea for the mechanics, cute concept! loved being in the woods the game felt so cozy i was chillin a lot with it B)
This is such an awesome game! I loved that its procedurally generated everytime, and that you've made an effort in making sure that at the start the correct resources are nearby. I unfortunately went bankrupt in all my 4 attempts haha.
It would be cool to be able to zoom out -- but maybe that'd make things too easy? Aside -- i think it would be cool to print out the tracks/map on game completion :D
Holy... this one blew me away! It's my favourite game in this gamejam for sure. At one try I failed because of exactly 1$! But I retried and finished then. (It helped to learn that building through wood costs more) I think it might be a little frustrating though, that there is a chance of it being impossible to win? This could also be made into a roguelite no doubt, but not sure if that would be a way to go. But it would make up for levels being impossible.
Man, I really want to make a strategy game now...
Very interesting and unique game, good job
Slowing down when building new rails is extremely frustrating. Played two times, failed both times. You don't know where to find needed resource AND you limited in your traversal. So you have to just guess right direction and if you don't - start over again. I like the idea and trains.
A really funny way how you create a train simulator with train tycoon games in a one piece  Since I'm a big fan of both - I like it a lot!
fun game! I liked the music a lot, it's a real earworm. I would have liked to have had more of an idea where resources were so I could plan my routes more wisely. Overall though, I enjoyed this.
Cool game! Wish there was a way to zoom out the map a bit so I could plan where I need to build my tracks next so I don't waste any money. Besides that it's pretty fun and enjoyable.
Fantastic game! I played it on my stream if you're interested: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1812362155
Fun game! It has a unique aesthetic and play style, and was really satisfying to play!
Very nice concept! Good balance on needing to venture out to complete deliveries but also wanting to make efficient paths so as not to spend too much money.
Cool idea that mixes exploration with economy. Took a while to find a map that felt winnable, but I commend your bravery for doing procedural maps in a jam! :)
Fun game! I really liked the random map generation (were the maps calculated to be beatable every time?), but would have been nice to have an idea where the item spawns were at. That would help a lot in the beginning with planning out where to place the initial rails.
The art and the music are super well done - great work to your whole team!
Very good polish it is very consistent :train: I have a little trouble with the balancing, (maybe I'm not taking enough risk). But the idea is very nice.
You were not afraid to take godot 4, the web export was not too bad? For 2D, was it worth going to 4 ?
@aviv-levy @batony-robson. I agree, tracks should be placed faster with better animations. We will work on this when/if we extend the game. I think the forest placement speed is fine, but the mountain placement is way too slow for me too.
@badpiggy @locke8 @tofucat @avi @cdunham @hulien22. Thanks for the feedback. If we extend the game, we might make the screen slightly bigger, but probably won't have zooming. I also really want to add some indication of where resources are. This could be a UI indicator, a map, or even a random sign in the world.
@thewrath @elisagonda. I'm really glad you liked the music! This was added at the end, so I had a lot of pressure making something that complements with the game in only a few hours. I also think it turned out well though.
@made3 @nuin @erlioniel @weeping-rupee @vetzi-studios @jordan-p20 @caeonosphere. Thanks!!!!!!
@aune. Thanks! We actually had no experience with Godot/Godot3 before this, so we don't have much to compare Godot4 to. @wadlo was a Unity dev before this and I was a PICO-8 dev. I like the fast compilation, files stored in plain text, and open source aspects of Godot and we didn't really have any issues with 2D graphics. Main downside is the web export not being compatible everywhere. We'll probably stick with Godot4, hoping that it will get better compatibility soon.
This game is awesome! I love the art and the game mechanic decisions - great work!
This was a really great little game! I liked the decision making, where I had to decide whether it was worth the money to make a new rail to some village, or whether I should continue selling stuff on the tracks I had already made. I also like how I could just flatten mountains if I just had enough money XD The only problem with the game I had was that once you had a big network of tracks, there was no real challenge anymore. I am not sure how to fix that though, and for a little jam game like this I also think it is completely okay :)
I also loved the cute pixel art and the nice sound effects. Really nicely done! :D
Very fun concept and well executed too. The difficulty seems like it's right where it should be. The simple pixel graphics and nice music are also really charming. Nice job!
I really enjoyed the game's concept and the smooth and fluid movement. I think the missions and challenge have a well-balanced difficulty level. It might seem confusing and difficult at first, but as you play, you get used to it. The pixel art is beautiful, with simple but effective use of colors that fits the atmosphere perfectly. The screen filter complements the art style well. Additionally, the music and sound effects are spot on, adding a lot of charm and life to the game. Overall, congratulations on creating a super cool game! ♡( ◡‿◡ )
Such a cute entry! I love the music and the visuals a lot. Interesting concept as well
super unique and fun!
Wow, when I'm first going in I didn't think it was gonna be this fun! I can see the balancing played into this game - When the resource haven't discovered yet, the quest related to that resource doesn't show up, and I can always appreciate well-balanced game! If I have to make improvement into this game, I'd put more game feel here and there just to make it more 'crisp'. Overall though, it's a very fun game!
Also you might want to update the description since the goal is 150 and description said 200:grin:
I love it !! The art (cute shapes and colors), the music, and the game idea !! I earn more than $200 héhé Capture d’écran 2023-05-07 184740.png
@camden-obertop @slickclyde @yumykon @panpukin @mahc @roroto-sic Thanks so much! We really appreciate the feedback!
@wuppos Thanks for the feedback. And if we extend the game, we'll need to figure out how to make it fun once you have a big network. I have lots of ideas, but not sure which ones we will pick right now: - the map could expand - new resources show up - there are train upgrades - natural disaster/bandits destroy tracks
@ahistyap Thanks! And I updated the ldjam description now.
@alanxoc3 I liked all those ideas you wrote down! I guess I would go for something that would shake up the gameplay a little, so train upgrades and natural disasters or bandits sound like the most appealing ones to me. Perhaps you could also have some economics in there, where if you decide to sell sheep to the same village each time their prices will decrease? Or you could also put a bit of extra danger into the game, as right now you could in principle play the game indefinitely once you have a big network. Perhaps you need to pay some tax, or maintenance cost for your network, such that you have some incentive to make more money to keep up with those costs? Just spouting some ideas, feel free to ignore them all :)
I think it would be really cool if you all decided to extend the game. I would definitely like to give it another shot if you have a new version :D
@wuppos Ooooo, I didn't think of land taxes/price increases. Those are some good ones, I just put them in our notes!
What I liked: - Cute pixel art - Pretty catchy music, altho it did get a little repetitive after a bit :) - Once I realized that it took different amounts of money / time to build rails on different terrain, it made more sense (I initially thought it was lag)
What I didn't like: - I thought I was lagging for like 5-10 minutes before realizing that it was based on where I was building rails lol (that is probably just me being silly and nothing wrong with your game lol)
Great job and I really enjoyed playing it!
LOVE the graphics, so appealing! Has some sort of embroidery vibes to it. Fun little game, very polished for a game jam. I thought the implementation of the theme was very cleverly done, the track building mechanic is cool and kind a unique. I liked the game audio, tho I wished to have some feedback when picking something up or creating a track. Different sounds for the different terrain would have made it even clearer. All in all, great job!!
Very good! I like to play and it's not boring. The random map sometimes makes it difficult to leave the cities too far from each other, but I really enjoyed playing.
Congratulations!
Great, addictive game with an interesting idea, I enjoyed it.
It was very fun, amazing graphics/music/theming. Very original idea and great execution. I loved how smooth navigating around was! :)
Hi! First of all, it's a really great game! The graphics are good, and the gameplay is innovative and pleasant. I really liked it!
But I have to tell that de moments the game was slowed were a bit annoying.
It would have been cool to have a map at the end of the game, to see the work we've done throughout the game!
Again, really nice work!
This is a neat little game! You have to put a surprising amount of thought into planning your routes, optimising for things like terrain, turning back round, whether you might end up picking up a resource you don't want (speaking from experience there)... it's not as easy as it looks! I approve of the user of PICO-8's music tracker, it's good for those sorts of retro vibes.
I came unstuck on my first playthrough because all my missions were for coal and wheat, while I could only see sheep on the map. I didn't want to go blindly shooting off across the map, wasting all my precious money, just in case I happened to stumble across coal or wheat along the way. That's just the perils of procedural generation, though. My only other complaint is that the icon for wood doesn't look anything like wood (though it looks like wood when it's in the train carriage).
This is a very good game overall, and feels complete in its present form. Good job!
I kept on running out of money but I didn't mind. It was a really fun game and the UI and feel are just perfect
I really enjoyed playing this! The graphics are very effective, the music is nice (if maybe sliiiiightly repetitive after a while), the core game loop is solid and a lot of fun, and the game also matches the theme very nicely. Definitely my favourite LD53 game so far!
My only real gripe is that sometimes, you simply can't find the resource being asked for directly, requiring you to spend money that you may not have to explore the map, which can feel a bit unfair. And I did also initially thought the slow digging was lag rather than an intentional delay. But those are just minor criticisms of what is otherwise a really solid effort! Well done!
One of the best games i'm really bad at! I love that you need to figure out quickly the best way to do your loops and to keep a track on where you can get items. The randoms map sometimes feel really difficult to play in and sometimes the game was slowed down and it felt weird but overall it's a really good game ! It is very cute and appealing. I'd love to have some shops to get a new cart or some new ressources and maybe even an increase in the price of rails after some time.
Great game, I really enjoyed the retro-style graphics and music, and the gameplay is fun.
I didn't want to stop playing! Super polished game!

This game had a lot of going on. There's the unconventional movement where the train has to obey the train tracks but can still choose which way to turn. Then there's the build mode that adds complexity to the movement. And then there's the procedurally generated map! Quite a good combination of mechanics. I really enjoyed it.
Fantastic game. Such a simple management mechanic but has so much depth! One of the best games I've played in this jam. The more I played, the more I wished it were easier to know where I can go pick a new type of good, but the current way it works forces you to plan for exploration with the limited money you have and asks you to balance delivery and discovery. Amazing work, excellent entry!
edit: because how could I have forgotten the music! such a calming, charming soundtrack.
DAMN! This feels like a really thought through endless game. It's so addictive. The core game loop is brilliant. The aesthetics of the game are really well done. The controls are intuitive and simple. Love it. I think the only criticism I have is that the music can get quite annoying after a while, especially that bass is quite heavy on the ears. I think it'd be cool to have wagon expansion or something like that for future development. I really think that with a bit of polish this game could be an amazing commercial game.
Excellent, one of my favourites! The whole thing fits together very well. Graphics are nice, music is repetitive, but welcomed. The game is very fun and addictive. The slowing down of the train when crossing wooded terrain feels a bit like lag, but that's me trying to provide constructive criticism.
Super nice! Feels so polished and complete. The graphics are very pleasant, as is the color scheme, the music is fitting and pleasing. Core gameplay loop feels fine and plays well. There is a bit of hitching in the web version (on Firefox), but that seems to be normal with Godot 4 web export. Because of the limited resources and not really knowing where the villages are located, choosing to build every new track piece feels like an adventure and a bit of a gamble. Very nice design.
Love the game, super fun, the lack of indication of where new resources/towns gave the game a sense of exploration and discovery.
The world generation/track building does lag the game, but otherwise it's great :)
This is probably the best games I've played this jam. Really cool! I only have minor points:
* Building tracks felt laggy, not sure if there is some performance bug * It would be nice if there were ways to help you find a certain resource. I had to finish the game without ever getting sheep, because I couldn't see any civilisation in my line of sight. Maybe providing arrows or a way to buy a map would be useful.
Great work!
This is a cute, polished gem. I love the crunchy 8bit visuals and the catchy tune! I got softlocked out on my first run due to no more goods/buying offers coming through on my tracks or in range, but that's what proc gen offers sometimes. It was really helpful to have the little signs pointing offscreen towards new buyers. Simple, clean, excellent delivery for the jam.
This game feels really polished and complete. The art and sound design is great, and the gameplay is a lot of fun. I found the $200 goal a bit high for the map size, I ended up just circling my track at the end there, but the game was a ton of fun, and a great experience. Nice job!
The game is surprisingly easy to pick up and enjoyable ! After a while, it becomes difficult to figure out where are the new resources, and the exploration costs starts to become greater than just optimally building your track to reach the houses. But very nice game anyway :)
