LD53 — Delivery

Dough or Die by gold.daniel 2023-05-15T18:03:01Z

Oh the controls are not easy to get into but when you do some stuff becomes quite satisfying. But still, it's a bit too harddd. I got to the place where you have to do a tall vertical jump twice in a row and that was just pure hell. I mean the game looks like you're in hell anyway haha.

The beginning sequence is really cool. I wonder though why the hell would you have bombs in a pizzeria :^)

Anyway, great job!

Build-A-Delivery by shp 2023-05-13T11:31:44Z

Wow, an impressive game. It does feel a little bit empty, but the physics of it and the fun loop is really cool. I'd suggest having some sort of progression if you continue working on this. I don't know why, but the aesthetics really reminded me of this one game called 3089, which I really enjoyed. Also just a thought, maybe it'd be cool if you could also extend the car, so you could fit more stuff.

Speedy Delivery Co. by kristinamay 2023-05-15T18:26:13Z

I think this is a really solid game idea, that can actually have potential to be a serious game for learning. I played through a week of the game, and quite enjoyed the vibe.

However, I think the game could improved upon in terms of balancing. First off, I didn't really use the isntructions, and just tried to fill in the truck as spacially efficient as possible. And it turned out well every time! I didn't read the labels, didn't look at the map, it was just a very cozy space management game to me.

I think the map and labels is generally a mechanic, that if it'd work as you planned, might've made the game a bit too long to get into. In this regard I'd say there are two ways to improve it: 1. Get rid of the complex elements, and focus more on space management. That would make it more fun, but also rid it of the more serious aspect. 2. Rebalance the complexities of the labels and map, and make it more engaging. I think if you make it not as tedious, but still involve strategizing it can become a truly unique logistics learning experience.

I really enjoyed the game. Great job!

Hellfire Pizza by AploveStudio 2023-05-12T15:32:43Z

I really liked the game! One thing I found funny is that our team had the exact same idea but with vampires at the beginning, but the mechanics were a bit to tough for us to handle haha. Awesome to see a similar idea :) The atmosphere, the art are supreme. One thing I didn't get used to is the controls. I think some of the buttons used for interactions are a bit unconventional, and maybe some of the interactions could be simplified (e.g. getting all Pizza at once, instead of picking them one by one, etc.)

DE/LIVER by StormCat 2023-05-15T17:01:23Z

HAHAHAHA Loved this one. I love experimental games like these. The blend of different mediums is quite a unique design approach. The story is simple, but with the supporting footage, it becomes so much more effective. Creepy but really fun.

I think this should be considered art. Great job!

Jurassic Part-Timer by TomatoLamp 2023-05-15T17:21:37Z

Haha that's a really fun game. I really like the assets for the game. I didn't get why it's called Jurassic Part-Timer, but when I noticed the dinosaur getting out of the car to throw the packages it all clicked.

I think it looks great, but either the core loop or the physics of the game could be improved upon. I think you could keep the movement as peculiar as it is, but then maybe making the delivery itself be a bit more apologetic, for example through an economy or just having a bit more time. In the current state it's just a tad too difficult. Another thought I had, that it can stay as difficult and frantic as it is, but then have a pointer. That would make it a bit more predictable but fun to play, as there's not much time and space pirates all around anyway.

The music is really hype and matches the energy of the game. But I also think it might get a bit annoying after a while, as it's a short loop, and there are some bassy synths that are heavy on my ears. But maybe that's just me.

Other than that, a very fun game! Great job!

Rail Blazer by alanxoc3 2023-05-14T17:31:07Z

DAMN! This feels like a really thought through endless game. It's so addictive. The core game loop is brilliant. The aesthetics of the game are really well done. The controls are intuitive and simple. Love it. I think the only criticism I have is that the music can get quite annoying after a while, especially that bass is quite heavy on the ears. I think it'd be cool to have wagon expansion or something like that for future development. I really think that with a bit of polish this game could be an amazing commercial game.

Popcorn Odyssey by 0X_VOID_X0 2023-05-15T16:50:06Z

WOAH. Awesome game! It's really addictive.

The level design is done really well, it's noticeable that you made a proper difficulty curve, as well as were able to play around with the concepts introduced in a creative way without it feeling bland or too cluttered. And having little workarounds, cheeses and other stuff really shows how well the mechanics were handled. I mean you alredy have speedrunners, haha!

Wanted to give special attention to the graphics and audio. They're really pleasant. The visuals are nice and cute. And the sound is cozy and not annoying, which is amazing considering that it has to be looping all the time. I especially liked the you like jazz sound effect.

Also the idea with a popcorn tree is quite bizarre I love it haha. The only nitpick I'd have I guess is that it's not clear how it's related to the theme, but I don't think it's that important.

A really good game. Amazing job!

A Blacksmith's Gift by Kassie Kitsune 2023-05-13T11:07:00Z

That's a really nice game! I found the idea quite unique, and I can see this being a brilliant game with some more polish. I love the fact that you straight up steal the swords. Though I'd appreciate a bit more feedback on when you're stealing it, because sometimes it takes one slap, sometimes more. But yeah, great job!

Devil's Corp by Neobit 2023-05-14T17:13:13Z

Ooooh what a nice game. It's really fun. I wish maybe the deaths would be a bit more apologetic, like having three lives or something, but other than that it's a supreme aesthetic experience. Everything is just so COOL. It's like Doom + Enter The Gungeon. The soundtrack, the visuals, the overall vibe are amazing. Big props for using the half life 1 gun sounds for shooting the pistol hahaa. One other thing, I think the cutscene where you get a new weapon should be unskippable, as I actually skipped through those for the first few times accidentally, and didn't know I had new weapons. But yeah, amazing job!

Ultimate Package by Triangle Point 2023-05-14T17:00:10Z

So I'm guessing from others' comments that I wasn't wrong and I was playing as Moist Critical hahah. It's a nice platformer overall. The story is quite simple, but fun. I think the mechanics definitely would need some improvement, as fighting with the boxes especially doesn't feel that much satisfying, and jumps feel quite stiff. I think of all things I liked about music the most. Especially that beginning "Get ready to ruumblee" haha. Overall, good job!

Fresh'n Hot by Lulunaria 2023-05-13T11:13:16Z

I got 245 from my first time playing haha  Quite a fun game, I didn't get it at first, and then it clicked that it's a typing game. I enjoyed the concept quite a bit. I think what would be cool is having some more sound design and having some sort of game over screen, so that the entire game loop is there. I also enjoyed visual assets, looks quite pleasant. Great job!

soul sender by aushijo 2023-05-14T16:46:59Z

That's a really nice little game. It's short and simple. Getting used to the controls is satisfying, but one thing I noticed is that the spawns can be a bit too tricky considering the hitboxes, it's quite random.

Bloodiest Mary by nullmike 2023-05-15T16:08:55Z

@sebastian-m Thank you for the feedback! Actually yeah, we should've made it a bit more clear.

@merrow Thank you! I do really hope I'll get to work on this up ahead. We fell in love with this idea, and we had much more narration ideas further down the line haha.

@adam-jewell Thank you for the extensive feedback :) Glad you liked it!! I personally don't work on any bigger projects atm, but you can find some of my jam games and short projects on itch. I would love to get this game to a more satisfying and fulfilling point.

@artatruc Thank you! We worked quite a bit to make this atmosphere (especially getting 3 different artists to do little bits that would still stay be consistent). But the resulting vibe was really inspiring and motivating for me, the developer, to get this thing going haha.

After The End by pasha37 2023-05-12T15:37:17Z

It's a really nice idea, and the imagery supports it really really well. I think the difficulty is quite matching to the visuals, but generally I'd say that having the acid insta killing you is a bit hardcore. Maybe having it just hit you, and leave some invincibility for you would be a bit more apologetic. But awesome otherwise!

Shuffle of Brushstroke by Nail 2023-05-12T15:41:26Z

A nice game, a very cool spin on the idea of delivery. Liked the story bit and the use of AI art is done really harmoniously. Good job!
