LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Permafrost Pirouette by Junber 2020-10-06T03:43:22Z

Despite the game crashing after the tutorial I really saw a lot of potential in the idea, Human Bey-Blades on ice, I'd love to see the issue fixed at some point after the results of LD47 and maybe even a fully realized version of the concept, with such a fun tutorial you've got something great on your hands

Dungeon Loop by Ynk 2020-10-06T07:30:17Z

The visuals are positively adorable, and the musical aspect to the combat was very interesting, it's so satisfying to create tiny little scores out of your and your enemies attack patterns, very well put together

Demongraft by kazuo256 2020-10-06T07:50:35Z

The artwork is great and atmospheric, I really admire the implementation of the theme, there's almost a sadness to the loop in the story, the combat system felt nice, more or less a barebones fighting game, I can easily see this being fantastic with more variations on both the heroes and beast

Spinnerets by Jeremy Ryan 2020-10-07T07:55:12Z

God, what isn't there to praise about this gem, the art is adorable, the concept is interesting, and it feels super polished, save for a few bugs, I picked this up with 2 friends and the 3 of us ended up wasting a solid half an hour webbing each other and bouncing around the stage, I only wish it were slightly faster paced and snappier, but it was a blast despite that, Excellent work, especially for a COMPO game!

Leopold the Lich by Grentacular 2020-10-06T07:16:02Z

I have never, ever, previously in my life, been SO HAPPY to lose a game, the loss screen is just that much of a delight! on top of that, Leopold has got to be the cutest lich I've ever seen

my only real gripe with the game is no ability to shoot lob your spell upward or downward making the super fast paladins kinda hard to hit

Echo Anomaly by Fonics 2020-10-06T04:36:08Z

Great atmosphere and art, each puzzle was interesting with the rewind blocks, almost reminds me of a 2D portal, nice work!

Lasso'em up! by honey 2020-10-07T07:01:47Z

The art direction is really nice, I think it could have been even nice if the graph paper grid in the background was drawn on top of the other art, it'd really drive the paper aesthetic home.

The lasso feels great and I love the literal rope loop interpretation of the theme, maybe I'm biased though

add some sound snappy sound effects and make the cows move around more frantically, perhaps an infinite mode would make this an excellent time waster

Eternal Punishment by Yuukurisu 2020-10-06T03:52:07Z

The art is very appealing, both the pixel art in game and the devil talking to you in the beginning, the controls are a bit sluggish for a platformer of this kind however, I'd especially suggest fixing the lose state so that it doesn't reset to the beginning of the intro, having to click through every time really takes you out of the flow of the game

Lily The Bee by Vivien Fargette 2020-10-07T08:23:03Z

super adorable little game, Lily immediately caught my attention, I'd appreciate Lily's stinger being a little more visible and maybe a little faster, the little bits of narration between stages was super cute too, nice work!

EDIT: the narrator's voice was pretty pleasing to the ear as well, just, throwing that out there

Witch Loop by Erukolindo 2020-10-07T08:10:57Z

Super adorable game and main character, seriously the pixel art is a delight to look at, the looping movement could have benefited form being a little easier to control, and some kind of feedback when being hit or hitting enemies would really complete the game, it's an interesting little shmup and I'd love to see a more polished or complete version of it, Nice work, Keep it up

Hamster Simulator by snowinn 2020-10-06T04:08:39Z

In a lot of ways this feels like an idle game except that it demands your attention always, there's certainly an interesting graphical direction with the compressed real world image with the sprite drawn over it, perhaps the rest of the screen could be altered to be more in line with that aesthetic?

I found myself wanting to watch the hamster go crazy fast once I got its speed high enough and felt that the mouse controls for the menus took away from my mashing of W and the right arrow to reach max speed, perhaps the upgrades could have been mapped to some button presses when you made enough loops instead of needing to open a window with the mouse, that way the hamster animation is never blocked by anything and if you're still building up speed you no longer need to take your hand off the keyboard to upgrade

Space Wrangler by AmbaDev 2020-10-06T03:27:04Z

Absolutely adorable artwork and character designs, and it's nice to see another "Physical loop of rope" take on the theme! The posts and pen remind me of the work (well, schoolwork) I have to do in my real life as an Ecology student. I only wish that the lasso was a little faster and snappier as the pace felt a little bit slow, but otherwise a blast to play!

Crocodial by David-Liddelow 2020-10-06T06:24:50Z

The movement felt incredibly smooth and the gameplay really captures the feeling of careening down a hill curled up in a ball, It really felt like I was willingly giving my body over to the force of gravity and letting the force take me where it thought fit

also absolutely love the bee spell, more bees please

Clone Arena by GrizzliusMaximus 2020-10-06T04:48:41Z

tonnes of fun, perhaps a little bit dizzying, I think if the camera didn't follow the mouse so tightly a lot of that problem could be solved, and perhaps decreasing the gravity a little bit, it really didn't feel like there was much to the jumps and a lot of the platforms seemed impossible

otherwise, it was an absolute blast filling the screen with bullets using clones

Looped by KewDev 2020-10-07T02:12:37Z

Absolutely adorable player character and effective visuals, it was a little tricky to get the hang of the jump physics but once you understand it it's not too bad, the application of the theme was neat and seeing how many times I died at the end gave me a decent motivation to improve next time, solid work!

Mage Game by droo shayne 2020-10-06T06:05:13Z

The visuals are nice, especially the adorable mage girl you play as, the difficulty really spikes up super high really fast and I couldn't get through the second level the idea has plenty of potential, if perhaps each level had a different loop of actions there's a tonne of potential for puzzle design, overall nice work!

Caught in the Sheriff's Loop by Kassie Kitsune 2020-10-07T09:31:23Z

@kpedatte did you extract both files from the .zip? Godot .exe files need their respective .pck file in the same directory

Caught in the Sheriff's Loop by Kassie Kitsune 2020-10-07T09:32:40Z

@copito maybe I should have communicated it in the artwork a little better, but your hands are tied! the only way to open the doors is to push the key to them

Hoops Paradise by GuaranteedTrainwreck 2020-10-06T06:50:11Z

Might I ask if this took any inspiration from the dancing plague?

the concept is solid, though I would definitely have appreciated it if there were more feedback for your actions, maybe adding sounds to every interaction and highlighting objects the mouse is hovering over

Anomaly by Mat Stevenson 2020-10-05T23:27:27Z

It has a nice slow contemplative mood to it and the visuals are quite nice, perhaps it could do with more things to discover at each planet instead of just restoring resources, but otherwise it's a solid foundation

LD53 — Delivery

Dressed Delivery by kiririn51 2023-05-02T06:40:01Z

Admittedly I can be a bit of a sucker for anime women and the story is definitely solid and engaging, but there's a real interesting gameplay concept underneath here. Combat feels like a puzzle already with just the few characters and abilities there are in just this jam that could be expanded upon. Wouldn't be disappointed to see any of these characters return either of course.

Deliver to Whence you Came by JUSTCAMH 2023-05-03T06:04:24Z

Incredible! The ground is slug! Amazing innovations in the slug genre.

Seriously though all of these mechanics are super interesting, this is a really deeply engaging and dynamic puzzle platformer

Fork This by LeYamez 2023-05-03T21:32:37Z

hampter...

Hellfire Pizza by AploveStudio 2023-05-02T05:30:29Z

Getting endlessly lost in the suburbs while making minimum wage. Hell, truly. The art and characters immediately grabbed me and dragged me right down into a hole shaped like your itch profile, inspiring.

F. Ragile by Akromaly 2023-05-03T21:42:31Z

I really liked this! the art is cute and soft, it controls really well and while the arc of the packages takes some getting used to the risk/reward of trying to conserve packages to highscore is really engaging!

A Blacksmith's Gift by Kassie Kitsune 2023-05-02T04:30:19Z

@svenerik Unfortunately i'm just a tiny bit untalented with music and out of practice incorporating sound into my workflow for games. This being my first Jam in a long time without a dedicated music person on team, much less solo. I know how big of a deal it can be though, you're definitely right.

A Blacksmith's Gift by Kassie Kitsune 2023-05-02T04:37:04Z

@paul-avallone All things I would have loved to have included! Definitely things that WOULD be in the game without having had to go to work both sat-sun this weekend.

Constellation Courier by Diego Teran 2023-05-02T08:02:01Z

Gorgeous artwork, I always appreciate soft almost fluffy depictions of space and fun little space fish and creatures.

Deliver Us From Evil by Tobius 2023-05-02T03:22:18Z

All of the art is super charming and I subtly wonder if the physics frustrations add to the experience of having to do this annoying busywork for farquaad. The main thing would be that the red indicator on the ground is deeply unhelpful most times but it definitely feels like it's part of the challenge that the items have real physical weight and all the cumbersomeness of that, rifling through the bag and making a mess. I also found it kinda fun to sorta precisely catch the items when they were thrown up into the air.

Drive! Express Girl! 閃耀,速達少女! by Moonblast 2023-05-03T05:26:40Z

The art's really good, great character designs

Potion Delivery Service by ottos 2023-05-03T03:54:22Z

Really cute and cozy game, makes me feel at ease, only a disappointed about it seeming to break when leaving the house.

Another World Hero Delivery Service by AntonyMo 2023-05-02T03:44:29Z

WOW! As a chronic weeb myself I have to say that, isekai truck-kun simulator is an exquisitely inspired concept. The only isekai game that matters. The art is charming, the goddess is charming, controls right, immediately challenging and fun. No notes! Well, except that I wish I had more time to see what titles I was sending the chosen heroes to, maybe as a list alongside the score screen?

Bloodiest Mary by nullmike 2023-05-02T07:38:58Z

Morbid, naturally. But interesting, very interesting premise, curious to follow these threads further.

Corgi Cargo Combat by Zerfalex 2023-05-03T06:57:05Z

I just have to say, my girlfriend has a corgi and I think she'd love this

Beak and Bundle by Aivaxela 2023-05-03T01:42:14Z

This is a really engaging twist on a shmup, really keeps you playing on your toes like a delicate balancing act. I like the stork folklore as a double-twist on the jam theme too, and it's used really well.

Beat Boxes by PonyGirlLuna 2023-05-02T04:24:38Z

There's something deeply cathartic about this game as an ex-Amazon warehouse worker. Absolutely loved this. It feels almost like a VRless Beatsaber and it's definitely noteworthy that you managed to capture that feeling here. I'd honestly really love to see this concept explored more and expanded some.

Pizza Inspection & Shipping Service by Harrison Jones 2023-05-02T06:57:38Z

A Standing ovation for that title! I really appreciated how the stamp sizzles, more of a burning hot brand than a wet little stamp.

Hemophilia by Roomy 2023-05-02T04:48:40Z

I've always had a weird itch for inside-the-body settings in media and games specifically. This definitely scratches that osmosis-jones itch in me. You are wrong about something though, that virus is definitely smarter than me.

Bunpacking by Chailotl 2023-05-02T08:05:28Z

Cute!
