Hello! So I just finished playing through a decent chunk of the game. Here are my thoughts so far... * The rope feels like it weighs a metric ton, which is bad as it makes maneuvering around the rope very tedious * The building in the first few levels does not have colliders on the right side of it, making escaping very easy without the need for the key * The key is very inconsistent to move around and if the guard is chasing I mostly rely on luck to make it out of the building.

Overall, don't take this feedback too harshly, because the idea here is lovely, and I can see a lot of effort has been made here. I think you did a fantastic job considering you were learning a whole new engine. I really like the art-style, and the whole western vibe of the game makes it all the more fun to experience. Nice work! I look forward to your next game

I agree with Seth that the rope feels like I'm draggin the titanic with it, I do think it adds something to the game, but movement becomes just a bit more of a chore than I'm comfortable with, I really enjoyed the level progression and it felt great to hit that key just right so it flew into the door ♥

Good concept, but could use some tweaks. I feel like I would be the buffest robber around as the rope seems to weigh a lot.

Good concept with nice artwork

The points listed before are all valid, but I wanted to add that the art-style and vibe of this game are absolutely spot-on. Add a western chiptune and some snappier gameplay and you've got something special here!

Agree with other players. Nice entry anyway. Western game are not as frequent. Enjoy to play it.

Super impressive little game! The idea of using a "lasso" as the loop is taking the theme absolutely literal and surprisingly not many has achieved that, so big kudos for something original there. The mechanic of being tethered is interesting, and the puzzles were intuitive and clearly becoming more difficult. There is a little bug there if you rub up against the windows, you can noclip through the side walls of the prison, which trivialized the key-parts of the puzzles (speedrun strats  ) You should definitely continue working on this, you got a great project here!

Really good concept, the theme is respected 100% gg. It feel a bit tedious to play because of the weight of the rope. I stucked the key in the on the second level and i resolved it by passing trough the wall of the bottom right.

GG for the work anyway ^^ keep jaming.

I had a decent time with this game. I have not a problem with the ice physics of the items but I rather preferred that the rope didn't have self-collision and any collision with the player character and the sheriff. It limited my range of movement hugely in a frustrating way. A slightly increased movement speed could also increase the playability a bit. The puzzles and the ramp up in difficulty was just right.

I can't play :(

Nice concept, but the physics could really use some tweaks. The character was hard to control and the key was bouncing around so much it was impossible to use.

copito 2020-10-07 09:16

I really struggled with the key mechanic in this game, after cutting the rope I seemed to be able to push it around but I couldn't figure out how to open the door with it; do I need to push it into the door? The game was quite unique but I felt I got stuck quite early on due to the above

andidebob 2020-10-07 09:23

A nice concept, but the rope made out of lead makes its it a bit of a struggle to move. Luckily the guards seem to be wearing boots made from the same material so it is fine. A really nice concept that, with a bit of tweaking could turn into a fun little arcade style game. Maybe add a timer on the levels to see how fast you escaped. Nicely done!

kassie-kitsune 2020-10-07 09:31

@kpedatte did you extract both files from the .zip? Godot .exe files need their respective .pck file in the same directory

kassie-kitsune 2020-10-07 09:32

@copito maybe I should have communicated it in the artwork a little better, but your hands are tied! the only way to open the doors is to push the key to them

kewdev 2020-10-07 13:05

I love the concept and the artwork of this game. The physics take a bit getting used to but the rest of the game makes up for it. Amazing entry!

nazorus 2020-10-07 13:31

Really love the pixel art, and the concept is pretty cool too, I like how you have to work with physics to escape. I just wish the game was faster because it can become a bit tedious sometimes. Good job!

honey 2020-10-07 21:16

Guys up there are totally right, the lasso feels so heavy it's hard to believe it's really a lasso. Still great idea that it actually loops around, so you have to think where to go not to cut your reach. What I don't get and hopefully is a bug is why would you obscure so big part of the game with a wall? I was expecting the front wall to disappear or get at least transparent as soon as I enter the corridor, but none of that happened, so I just guessed where stuff was and the gameplay felt rather frustrating in there (the level on the picture). Also I managed to escape through the wall in the level before, where the guy is patrolling outside, through the bottom right corner of the sheriff's office. The artstyle is pretty good though and the idea is really clever and surely looks like something that could work well with further improvement :)scr.png

fonics 2020-10-07 23:30

A little buggy and a bit rough around the edges, but the concept is there and I love the art! One small bit of polish that would go a long way is making the walls transparent when you get close to them so you can see what is happening inside. Solid entry!

le-don 2020-10-08 10:14

Man, I really like the artstyle of the game. It looks so great! As some people mentioned, the rope physics feel a little too heavy. I also think having the items hidden behind the walls is also a problem - maybe adding some transparency in that case. And it seems strange, that the cops are chasing the player, when they are still roped.

mrhthepie 2020-10-08 19:04

Fun game and cool interpretation of the theme. I got stuck in the level where the scissors are in a hallway with a patrolling guard, I couldn't seem to get free.

somogy 2020-10-10 19:29

Game very well done, I liked the fun provided, good job!

kuro 2020-10-17 15:09

I got to the first level with two keys, opened the doors, cut the rope, got to the horse/carriage thing, and nothing happened. A bug maybe?

Anyway, this was fun to play. I actually got used to the rope physics. It does make the game a bit tedious, but I took it as a part of the challenge. Graphics is nice, and game mechanics is a good idea. Well done

pedrocoden 2020-10-17 15:15

Nice game!
