LD46 — Keep it alive

Heart Beats by Zitao YE 2020-05-12T18:30:10Z

You have a really unique and fun concept with a lot of potential on your hands. It was a little hard to read the text and since you didn't get punished for pressing a button when it *wasn't* yellow, mashing the buttons and not paying attention to the game is a perfectly viable strategy.

Acorn City by testlab 2020-05-12T13:34:07Z

Graphics are really good, and the engine is really impressive. It's really fun to move around, but the camera going up and down when you jump can be really jarring for the first minute or so of playing the game. The real trouble with the game is the size of the world. It's incredibly large for just 10 acorns and no enemies or any other kind of gameplay. I played the game for around 5 minutes, but I was only able to find 7 acorns. I couldn't even *see* the other 3, and I stumbled upon a couple of them by complete accident. I'm also not too sure how this has anything to do with the theme.

Pumpkin Keeper by gurkenlabs 2020-04-22T13:48:06Z

I really liked the gameplay loop, the art and the dialogue, but the game was limited to 30 FPS which feels pretty bad.

Save The Bird! by F1Krazy 2020-05-12T09:55:13Z

You did a really good job with this game! It could easily make a really good mobile game if expanded. the art and music were simply amazing (other than the bird, obviously). They could easily feature in a $5-$10 game. Gameplay was really addicting and fun, I especially liked the way the drone controlled. Only complaint is that the drone and clouds don't stand out enough, so when the drone goes in front of one it's possible to lose track of it.

Safe and Sound by Bank 2020-04-22T12:39:30Z

You made a really nice game, but it's really tedious to get through the empty chunks of the levels because you can't hold the movement buttons.

Nuke-A-Tron 2000 by kale 2020-04-22T13:36:43Z

Great concept. Loved the minigames, other than the maze

Firepower by POBIX 2020-04-21T13:33:55Z

@piggles Thanks for your feedback! You can resize the window or enter fullscreen if you find it too small.

Firepower by POBIX 2020-04-22T14:29:46Z

@datagreed The engine doesn't give me a 64 bit option on Mac, so I really don't know. Do you have a full error?

The Adventure of Mr. Bubbles by DreadedDruidStudios 2020-05-12T09:32:58Z

Overall, I'd say you made a pretty good game. The art and music are great, especially for a compo game. However, the movement was incredibly floaty, which the levels were clearly not designed around. This made the game far too difficult. Either the movement or levels would have been great if they were standalone, but in the current state they just don't compliment each other enough, making for a pretty good game instead of a great one.

Keep our planet alive by Tengii 2020-04-22T13:06:39Z

Good game. It's far too easy, though.

Walter and Water by Daniel Ewusi-Essel 2020-05-12T13:15:39Z

Graphics were nice and I like the way the character turned. With that said, it's impossible to actually water the plant, you can just fall out of the world and then you have to just close the game and reopen it, as it doesn't restart itself. The enemies tend to go in the exact same place, essentially turning themselves into one, and they don't actually seem to do any kind of damage. Also, the plant can't actually die, the bar just seems to stay on the lowest value it can have.

LD47 — Stuck in a loop

Mystic Dungeon & Mighty Mustache by namnam 2020-10-06T08:18:58Z

Really great game! The gameplay loop and concept are awesome. I loved the graphics and the music was great (although it was a little loud). The only issue I encountered is the lack of variety. You can either fight goblins, skeletons or find a puzzle, and the dialogue is the same every time.

Galdir's Quest by Nehvis 2020-10-06T09:50:18Z

It has a lot of potential - the graphics are great, the idea is cool and the movement is fun. My issue with the game is that the difficulty is pretty bad. The rocks move too fast, there's a point in the game where you drop in some lava but you can't see it before jumping into it, and the spikes are unpredictable.

The Zone by meskaline 2020-10-07T09:05:06Z

Loved the story and graphics but the font was a little hard to read and the gameplay itself was mostly frustrating.

Fault Outcome by VPhyre 2020-10-07T09:22:17Z

Cool game. Only complaints are that it was a little hard to understand what you were supposed to do and the text in the beginning disappeared before I finished reading it.

Trajectory by KaisenTheGreatOne 2020-10-06T10:19:38Z

Really awesome game! Would be better if you were zoomed out by default and took a shorter amount of time to respawn.

MONKEY BUSINESS by QuadApe 2020-10-07T08:43:55Z

Nice game! It was a lot more fun then i expected it to be, but it could still use some more variety as all runs are identical. Maybe some more levels or unlockable moves.

while(true) by PizzArt64 2020-10-06T08:52:08Z

I really liked the game! The idea was brilliant and the puzzles were great. Only issue I had the game is that if you failed the puzzles you would have to restart the whole puzzle, which is often very repetitive as the puzzles are quite large.

Exit Only by alpharock6 2020-10-07T09:00:33Z

Really great game! Didn't notice there was a puzzle at first but once I did I really liked it. This feels like it could be a full game if it had more content.

Overrun by GameDevMatt 2020-10-06T10:32:35Z

Nice game! I liked the gameplay a lot, and thought it was very fun. The graphics could use some improvements and the sound effects feel a little underwhelming.

LOOP by Blue05 2020-10-07T09:09:59Z

Really great concept. I loved the controls and the level design. Only complaint is that the sound effects get very annoying after a while.

Caught in the Sheriff's Loop by Kassie Kitsune 2020-10-07T09:14:20Z

Nice concept, but the physics could really use some tweaks. The character was hard to control and the key was bouncing around so much it was impossible to use.

Looping DefDrone 47 by Eddi_Mitchoum 2020-10-07T14:59:35Z

Cool concept, but the game can be cheesed by the spacebar. You could fix that by giving the player limited ammo (and some extra ammo that flies towards you and you can catch)

Gold Mine And Infamy by yellowsalamander 2020-10-06T08:30:12Z

I had a lot of fun playing it. I thought the concept was really cool, and I liked the graphics and sound effects. I think the difficulty increase would be better if player got faster instead of there being more enemies.

LD49 — Unstable

Uprooted by Zettelkasten 2021-10-09T14:29:00Z

Great game! The art and audio were fantastic, and the levels were clever. However, the movement controls felt very strange, and I could almost never predict where a button would take me. Also, an undo button would have been nice.

Heat Death by zeta0134 2021-10-08T14:17:36Z

Cool game! Pretty fun platformer mechanics, but the cooldown between dashes refilling meant that a lot of my time was spent just waiting for the refill, doing nothing else. Cooldowns are generally not fun, and are a pretty terrible fit for a platforming game. Another way to achieve what is pretty much the same end result without being unfun would be to create blocks that instantly give you a dash when you touch them.

SolituΔe by rodel77 2021-10-06T15:26:17Z

Cool game! Very polished and interesting concept. My only compliant is that you can't drag people around and remove the dead ones.

ch1Pik by NinjaCatz 2021-10-05T15:56:08Z

Good game! I really liked the graphics and sounds, and thought that the levels and concept were good, but being unable to hold the movement keys (and instead having to press them each time) was quite infuriating. A tutorial would have been helpful as well.

Mercurial by Geryon Games 2021-10-06T15:56:43Z

Cool game! Very satisfying to play, and the effects look great.

WobblyWords by Dannyk1994 2021-10-06T15:50:30Z

Fun game! I liked the idea, and I think that after some tweaking this game could be really good. Currently, most of the letters spawning are vowels and useless letters (x, z, etc.), and letters fall out too quickly. Also, the font in the tutorial was way too small and quite hard to read.

Milburt by LiquidFunk 2021-10-06T19:40:45Z

This game is really great. Absolutely the kind of game I would buy if it were any longer. The font was extremely hard to read, though.

Candle Coffee Courier by BluishGreenPro 2021-10-05T16:16:52Z

Presentation-wise, this game is very good - the art and animations are beautiful, the music is great, and I enjoyed the dialogue. However, the levels require great precision even though the controls don't feel snappy enough - making the game hard and unforgiving. The checkpoints are spaced relatively well, however, so it doesn't feel overly frustrating. Still, if you'd tweak some values, I believe this game could become a lot better.

DIE: Doomsday Intervention Enterprise by Cor.3 2021-10-08T14:23:59Z

Fun game! I liked gameplay idea, the graphics, the music(albeit it was much too loud) and the I thought that the darkness at the end was a good twist. My only complaint is that there's no sound effect or flashy visual indication when something goes wrong, so sometimes it would take me a few seconds to notice.
