Very interesting concept! I liked how you combined 2D and 3D aspects together. The style of art you chose works well and looks very good. The controls also felt really good once I got used to them.
I really liked the graphics for the game! It was very satisfying to collect money and kill enemies with the powerful upgrades. There seemed to be missing collision in a couple of places, but it didn't really detract from the experience for me.
The graphics for this game are really good! It's already been mentioned, but a difficulty system would be useful. Sometimes it's really easy and sometimes it's really hard.
It was a little confusing at first, but was pretty fun to play when I got used to it. The pixel art was very well done. Nice job!
This game was very fun to play. It's nice and simple and is very polished!
Great job on this game! It's fun to play and looks really good. An interesting take on the theme too.
The art for the game looks really nice! I hope you continue working on the game. I think that it has potential.
The story is pretty interesting and the audio really fits the mood of the game. I liked how you interpreted the theme. Good job on this one!
I'm not a huge fan of puzzle games normally, but I enjoyed this one quite a bit. The minimalist graphics work really well. I liked the gradual how there was a gradual buildup in difficulty but that I was still learning something every level. The player animations are pretty funny to watch too!
The graphics and audio fit very well with the game. It sets a really strong mood, and the story is well-developed. Really well done.
The puzzle design is really cool. I liked the looping mechanic, and how it was used to its fullest in the game.
I liked the idea of repeating through the loop and learning a little bit each time. The art and audio were good too. I wish there was a short warning before tiles disappear in some of the attack patterns though. I think it should also take less time to restart the level when you die, because waiting for the door to open and going through it starts to feel repetitive after multiple attempts. Overall I enjoyed it besides a few nitpicks.
This is REALLY good! It does everything really well. The art looks amazing, it sounds good, and it just feels good overall to play. I think this game would work very well in a full release!
I liked how you used the zapper mechanic in the levels. It gives this game a different feel from other puzzle games. The graphics look really nice too.
Cool interpretation of the theme. Was a little confusing at first, but I liked it after figuring out what I needed to do. Something about the game just feels good, and it's really relaxing.
This was fun to play! The length is good and the gameplay is pretty fun. Although it can be slightly annoying when rings spawn right in front of you.
I really enjoyed this one! I liked Hollow Knight, so this mechanic made me pretty excited to try this game out. The graphics and audio are good. It feels good to slash enemies and pogo off spikes. The only issue I had was that it was really easy to press attack too early and miss the pogo.
The idea of this game is very unique and I had a great time with it! I like how it progresses, and the difficulty options lets people enjoy the game regardless of skill level.
It's very easy to understand and the gameplay is really fun! The graphics are also very good, especially for a game jam.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I was thinking about expanding upon the game in the future since I liked it so much. I will definitely take your feedback into account. I'll try to fix up some of the issues that have been mentioned too:
@kpedatte The game should be in full screen normally, so I'll need to look into that. Thanks for letting me know!
@extar I'll probably have to adjust the volume for the game. I thought I changed it in code, but maybe I missed something.
@jam373 Thanks for the feedback! There's no different ending for collecting all the secrets. It was mostly just an extra challenge. I'm likely going to make a post-jam version later on, so I'll probably add some sort of alternate ending then. Some of the art I did for the game was inspired by the pico-8 version of celeste, mostly the tileset, so it's cool to know it gives off that feel a little bit.
This feels very polished. The simplistic art style is very nice to look at and the camera feels really good. It's really easy to understand and enjoy the moment you start playing it. Really well done!
The game's not too complex, and it's very fun! The music's great and I like how it escalates as you get close to running out of time. The graphics look extremely good for a game jam too. The paintings on the wall are a nice touch. Very enjoyable game!
The visuals look amazing for this game! It also just feels really good to play. It was very difficult to begin though. I think it was mostly stress from the limited amount of time. Besides the difficulty, it's a really good game!
This game took a very different approach from other games and I liked that. The narrator is hilarious to listen to! From all of the games I've played in the jam, this deserves the top spot for humor. It's a great experience that's unique from the other games. Very well done for your first jam!
The level of polish is really nice, and the art and music for the game fit well. There was a bit of information overload at the start, but I really enjoyed it after learning how to play!
Nice game! I liked how the character controlled and that mastering the movement is important to do well.
I really like your interpretation of the theme and the idea of the game! The audio is good, and the graphics work well for this kind of game. It's cool to see all of the giant roots branching out. The only thing that can be irritating is the randomness of the roots, which I feel slows down the pace of the game at times.
This was a fun game to play! The movement feels really solid. Getting the orb around got really frustrating, but I'm glad it's not something you have to worry about for too long. The drowning effect is really cool.
A really cool concept for a tower defense game! I like how the enemies adjust their paths to avoid the towers you place.
I could totally see myself getting addicted to this! I always enjoy seeing Pico-8 games, and this one's really nice. It feels good to play and there's a lot of audio and visual feedback that makes it feel nice!
It looks good and I like the idea of it. There are some improvements that would help the game, mostly making the UI easier to read.
A really cool interpretation of the theme! It feels fun to play, and I love how it quickly ends up turning into a bullet hell. The background also adds a lot of style to the game visually.
Thanks for the feedback, everyone!
@adrocodes Thanks for the feedback! I'm really interesting in speedrunning, so I normally find myself speedrunning when testing my games. There a definitely a few interesting skips and tricks in the game.
@mhorth Thanks for the advice! I didn't think about the fact that the use for the block wasn't entirely obvious at first. I'll keep that in mind if I continue to work on the project.
I liked the theming of the game. The art is simple but good. The atmosphere is also really nice, but a little background noise or music would go a long way.
The idea of the game is really interesting. I was kind of confused at first, but I really liked it after playing for a bit. It was cool to see the art that I created after getting outside!
I enjoy rhythm games, and I could definitely see myself playing this if you keep working on it! The graphics are simple but work well. I think adding an accuracy system would definitely give the game a lot more depth, and it would be nice if there was some sort of visual feedback to know how early or late you hit a note.
The art and sound for the game is really nice! One you get used to the controls, the game also feels really good to play. Having a few different areas is cool too, considering not all game jam games have the time to do it. If I were to suggest one thing, it would be to adjust the hitbox size of the character (I find myself missing gems that I feel I should have collected.) Other than that, this game is great! Well done!
I had fun playing this game. I like the idea of increasing the depth tolerance to access more of the level. It feels really nice at the end of the game when you get max depth tolerance and can swim through everything.
