LD47 — Stuck in a loop

SPÃ…RVAGN by Dustyroom 2020-10-06T21:58:30Z

Absolutely stunningly beautiful, and I love the reference to a certain Swedish furniture giant! The graphics are crisp and clear, and the aesthetics are so peaceful its almost hypnotic - which did cause me to mess up some times. Although the gameplay smells of Mini Metro, it's still sort of its own. Excellent work for the timeframe of the jam. Looking forward to seeing where you will take this in the future because this is definitely worth taking further.

Me, Myselfs and I by davision 2020-10-06T12:26:26Z

This is a really interesting idea with a lot of potential for further development - you should definitely keep going after the jam. Maybe build on the idea that different versions of yourself can have different items and loadouts, to strengthen the need to use the other characters and not just do it all yourself. The aesthetics are quite strong, with the twisted low poly look, but could maybe be made even stronger with different materials and lighting. Impressive efforts considering the time restraints. Well done!

I like this, although the format feels more like an educational tool into basic electronics than a game - You could consider how to make it feel more game like by making objectives or the like; perhaps different levels want a certain output? It's a good way to introduce the idea of simple logic circuits.

The little walk by Tori 2020-10-06T12:36:02Z

Beautiful little interactive walking-toy. If I weere you, I would consider how to make this more of a game than a toy, because the aesthetics and the mood is absolutely great. The sound was very low in volume, they should be a lot louder. As this is your first steps into solo projects, how fitting it is to make a little interactive toy about walking . The artwork is so cute!

PolyFury by Dom Harris 2020-10-06T09:34:19Z

I suck at bullet hell games. But that aside, this is a great take, and the shield mechanic on the boss is interesting even though it might be simple. Overall, great work and a lot of potential for expanding and refining the project moving forward.

Poppy's stuck in time by Xenation 2020-10-06T11:20:06Z

Neat little platformer, not much in term of invention but it works. The timer is quite strict, and after 5 tries I still was not able to reach my buddy in the clock tower. Good effort within the time frame, well done

Moby's Trip by blaster391 2020-10-06T10:54:12Z

Cool project, impressed with the selection of both multiple cars and tracks! The aesthetic is spot-on synthwave retrowave nostalgia! Soundtrack is good but could be even stronger on the vaporwave/synthwave front.

ronron Therapy by Redunca 2020-10-06T11:43:20Z

Great artwork! It would be great if "enter" also worked after writing a word because instinctively you press that to, well, enter a word. It quickly felt like the goal was just to increase the amount of abuse the cat could withstand, and not really change or fix the issue, just hardening him for the bullying, which felt a little sad.

Neverending partyween by imod 2020-10-06T11:36:47Z

Cute character style, although the mix of voxel models and drawins were a little unclear aethetically. The game could really use some guidance in terms of what I have to do as a player, one guy told me to go to the shop and buy him something but I could not enter the shop, for example. Generally felt like you were under pressure from the time constraints. The idea of using a groundhog-day setting to fit the theme works well, but it would be great with some more clarity in terms of objectives.

I liked this one, although the controls felt a little more like an experiment. It was hard to get a feeling of flow in the movement, where the nature of the flipping circle makes it very "choppy" in a sense. I enjoyed the aesthetics, the look and the music was very peaceful. A minor thing, when you upgrade the size of the robot and not the speed, it moves faster in one direction than the other. I'd say play around a little more with the movement idea, I'm sure there's potential there - the format of only one button controls plays nicely with touch devices like smartphones and tablets, maybe go down that road and see how you can make it feel more juicy to nail a good move, and how you can give the player some sort of feeling if getting better at the controls. Good effort within the timeframe of the jam! Well done!

Escape Velocity by OrdiNeu 2020-10-06T10:07:53Z

Really cool little game, the controls are fairly intuitive but i can see how this is something you could become really skilled at. Game feels responsive and tight, maybe have some sort of progression that facilitates the player learning how to master the controls, perhap some scenarios or the like. If you get caught in the black hole and reset it kinda just follows you around, so a full restart function would have been nice. Love the gameboy-esque aesthetic, really nostalgic.

AutoMate by nelow 2020-10-05T23:14:12Z

Great little puzzler, managed to feel stressful even for simple tasks. The camera is more than a little wonky at times.

GLITCH LOOP by ZakAmana 2020-10-06T09:31:27Z

This is impressive work for 48 hours, so first of all well done! I am a sucker for the glitch aesthetic so I am probably biased but the graphics and effects are stellar. Puzzles strike a good balance in difficulty. Good job!

Lily The Bee by Vivien Fargette 2020-10-06T11:54:11Z

Super cute art! The gameplay was classic space invaders with a little twist with the powerup - I'm still not entirely sure how the powerup cooldown and recharge works, and how it affects Lily the bee - is it the powerup that made her tired and killed her? A few notes on sound and music; the music was fine, albeit a little basic and became slightly monotonous while playing. Next time use a popfilter on the mic or distance yourself a little from it while speaking to avoid pops. Good job overall, considering the timeframe of the jam.

Arrows Hop by Apandso 2020-10-06T12:42:07Z

Absolutely adorable graphics! The core of the gameplay is good, sort of an interesting take on the lovechild of Snake and the classic water pipe plumber games, and it has a lot of potential with adding more types of blocks; how about tunnels (rabbit holes), carrots that makes the bunny go faster, foxes that are moving enemies etc, you can expand this quite a bit and you have a great product if you build on to the foundation you have made here. Great work for the short timeframe of the jam!

NeonLoop by aDaxxas 2020-10-06T00:01:29Z

Impressed by how juicy the game feels! Although not bringing anything revolutionary or new to the genre, it feels very satisfying - usually something the sprint/jam setting makes exponentially more difficult. Looks very contemporary with the neon colours as well. Would probably fit great in a smartphones vertical display and touch slide controls.

Caught in the Sheriff's Loop by Kassie Kitsune 2020-10-06T12:31:59Z

Super impressive little game! The idea of using a "lasso" as the loop is taking the theme absolutely literal and surprisingly not many has achieved that, so big kudos for something original there. The mechanic of being tethered is interesting, and the puzzles were intuitive and clearly becoming more difficult. There is a little bug there if you rub up against the windows, you can noclip through the side walls of the prison, which trivialized the key-parts of the puzzles (speedrun strats  ) You should definitely continue working on this, you got a great project here!

Fractulinear by gungnir 2020-10-06T11:13:17Z

This looks very polished, the aesthetics are strong, and the game is a solid take on a classic perspective puzzler. Great job! The lines did not always appear for me, but only showed sporadically while rotating the level, which made it vastly more difficult but also felt unintended - i assume it is a bug  Nice chill soundtrack as well, well done!

Fractulinear by gungnir 2020-10-06T13:10:54Z

@gungnir Ah I was playing it in browser just in the window, taking it fullscreen fixed the issue. FUllscreen is 2560x1440 and there its fine, but in browser where the game window is 720p it does the bug I described.

Commuter by Aran Ink 2020-10-06T09:00:20Z

The visuals and feel are very satisfying, but it feels like there isnt much strategy involved in placing towers and traps - it makes little difference where i place them. Consider ways to make player choices feel more impactful. Other than that, great effort in this short timeframe.
