Really crisp interface and appearance, works well. Having to type out the menu options is a funny little mechanic. The music ramping up in volume as you get closer to the top is a nice touch! Good stuff.

Really crisp interface and appearance, works well. Having to type out the menu options is a funny little mechanic. The music ramping up in volume as you get closer to the top is a nice touch! Good stuff.
Very neat puzzle to approach and solve, interface was pretty clean and the graphics/sound worked well for it. Figuring out clever strategies and then realizing that there's no way to totally stem the tide of fire is very thematic!
Neat, simple game. I got a 271!
There's a nice mix between purely random and just a little bit of control. This skews a little more toward the random right now, but I think you could, in theory, keep adding more rules and concepts if you wanted to extend the concept. Good work!
Definite Guillotine vibes! Clever idea, and your sprites are very nice. It's sometimes not intuitive which cards will let you do which thing? But it's pretty fun, and the fact that you're not always able to survive for long is very on-theme with the Inevitable concept.
I was betrayed by the egg, I went too far D:
This was fun and cute, great sprite work! The tight jumps in level 2 were a little tough, and holding down space means you jump again instantly on landing which felt off. Good platforming action entry!
Really well polished game, good sound, good visuals. Replaying content pretty frustrating though, really cut in to the fun level of the experience.
Simple but engaging, click click click! Was interesting puzzling out exactly what each area-type wanted to have done to it, on the fly. Sort of like solo SpaceTeam!
Had a couple blocks clip through the bottom of the screen, which broke things. Neat concept, beat up the tetrads as they fall!
Fantastic! Great music and visuals, controls are clean, and the game's enjoyable throughout. It's a concept I haven't seen done, and it's even more fun that it fits the theme quite well.
This is fun and addicting! It wasn't immediately apparent that we were doing gravity whips, but once I figured that out it was fun swooshing up through the level. Very good music and SFX, very pleasant even after trying a level a dozen times :D
Super fun game here, really impressive to get a functioning multiplayer up during a jam! A couple hitboxes are tighter than I think is good, but that's a very minor complaint. Excellent game!
Very thematic concept, although the game is a bit too easy/slow, I had to just let it run for a couple minutes to see what losing was like! The graphics are great, and the UI is responsive. The camera's a bit disorienting. Fun to play for a bit!
Good responsive UI (and the controller support worked fine, even in browser!) Agree witht he other commenter that spamming quick-circles is a little too optimal, but it's still clever and fun to play with for a bit. Everyone loves hexes!
Small feedback: definitely want a button that finishes the text-scroll but doesn't skip it entirely.
Very cute art and fun little game.
You've used a really simple concept and made a very fun game out of it! The physics are a tiny bit clunky but it's great for a quick weekend's work - with some refinement and more maps/etc this could actually be a fun mobile or casual game. Great work!
That's a fun game loop. Maybe a bug - after the first play, the first level game-over'd no matter whether I was in the base or not with the item once the time expired.
The controls are crisp, and I love that hitting the walls spins you out for a bit, a modest penalty instead of straight-up losing. The tension between getting power ups / points / returning to base is very clever. Graphics and SFX are good, as is the music. Nice work!
Music and graphics are very good! The conceit of the game is very clever, although the unforgiving nature makes it not as much fun to play as it could be. Pixel perfect jumps and full resets are frustration makers.
The desert swooshy air is very impressive, specifically.
It's exactly what it says it is! I tried a bunch of times and got 10, woo! The sound's pretty loud, but it's fine, the graphics are simple but express everything they need to. Control scheme is a little bit sticky, doesn't always feel like like I moved as far as I thought I would. Fun!
Nice little piece of IF, I was left wanting a little more in the ways of consequences for the choices, but the writing was quite nice.
Very clever idea. Simple, but executed well.
@widdershin Thanks! Yeah, I'm happy with the amount of little neat tactics you can use. Was inspired a bit by hearing how Regicide used a standard 52-card deck so well to create a reasonably complex experience.
@candlesan Yeah, my first iteration had the special abilities go off on EVERY card play and that was way too much, and I definitely like the emergent nature of the spades raising your hand size over the course of the game :)
@SimplePotential Glad you got to try one! I think it's neat that LD allows tabletop games alongside the digital, and I'm glad this thing I whipped up is giving people some enjoyment!
Thanks everyone for the feedback! If people do like it a lot, I might explore expanding it a bit to a proper game, it's fun to see that the balancing act is compelling and interesting for folks.
It's a game designed for a standard 52-card deck of cards :)
Some say the factions are still at war to this day...
Thanks again so much for all the feedback, it's been fun joining in on LD50 after having watched it on streams in past years :)
Super cool game! Conceptually spot on with the LD theme. Teleport's almost surely the best card. I think with more time you could think up a wider variety of cards that'd make things interesting, but it's a great start!
Some really neat ideas here and a good concept for a "you're doomed" RPG, but there're bugs that make it a bit less fun. Lots of art which is impressive!
I flew around, I bought, I sold, I harvested, I blew up pirates! The controls for flight are neat, and momentum while shooting is very interesting. I did wish maybe for a goal for all the buying + selling? But it was fun anyhow.
Music + SFX were pleasing, and the visual appearance was nice!
The jump controls are a bit rough and the precision needed is high! Gets somewhat frustrating trying to do lots of little jumps. Challenging, but a bit more due to not being able to make jumps than difficulty. Neat idea with time dilation though!
The music, the animations, and the graphics are great, creates a solid atmosphere and expresses the theme well. The game itself is not super interesting, but it does function fine. I think the puzzle there would need to be a bit more intricate or varied to be fun.
That's fun! I loved the moment when I landed on a purple for the first time, wasn't expecting that. It handles well and is enjoyable to run through a few times to try and improve your score. I think the randomness is okay, although maybe some more forgiving early setups might be smart! Great work on it.
Very nice art and simple clean music, it's short but to the point.
It's satisfying swooping around and pew-pewing all those squares (although it took me two plays before i realized my ship was always aiming at the mouse pointer!) Definitely would like to see a score of some sort.
The time-stop effect is really neat, and satisfying when all the pews start flying again after it ends.
Very impressive entry - the sprites look great, the game sounds and feels clean. Controls are easy, and the gliding is fun once you get it!
So cute and well written. It's fun to cheer everyone up, and now I want a cupcake :3
Great arts also, it looks very polished for a jam entry.
We made it! What an important delivery.
Really fun game, good writing and mood, and it runs perfectly smoothly. If anything, maybe more diversity in encounters could be a plus to shake things up a bit.
Fantastic example of a simple game that's fun to play. Good little music loop, enjoyable, good stuff!
Incredibly cute :> :<
The writing is great too, although the game itself has a little bit of an aimless vibe - more clarity on a goal might be useful, even though it's fun sending letters off to everyone!
Good job making a thing that works :D
Very surreal! The art is quite impressive, and I'm not sure if I finished? THe game went to a black screen, the little invisible mazes were interesting to sneak through. Fascinating journey by our tad-kid
Very clever game with good writing, although the typing got pretty annoying - don't get in the way of the player engaging with your game! The twist was neat, and the little sound effects did a lot to set the mood in a good way.
That's a banana ton of good writing and some fancy art (AI generated/assisted?), and a really clever concept for a game.
There's a high degree of polish here, along with a satisfying core game loop. Good work making the different attack types feel a bit different and require individual strategies to overcome!
The music gets repetitive quick, but the sound FX are solid. Graphics and controls are really good and smooth. Great work!
Fantastic!! Really clean and solid implementation, enjoyable to play, and it fits the theme great. Definitely could've enjoyed even harder levels, haha.
You can pet the cat! This is the most important feature :id:
The game loop is interesting, though it took a bit to figure out how the interface worked. More feedback when you did a wrong-thing would be useful! Fun though, good little game :)
Haha, this is pretty great and fun to play - my sneaky secret strategy is to go REALLY FAST and bounce off the walls of the map. Probably not intended, but a fun way to play.
Biiiiiiiirds!
This is incredibly clever as a concept, although some in-game signposting indicating you should drag and drop characters might be smart! I didn't go to read the description until after I'd played a bit. Doing the levels with different characters was hilarious though.
Fantastic game!! It's like a puzzly variant of EuroRails, really nails the delivery theme and is a good experience to boot.
Cute little game, good for a last-day effort surely! Sounds would be great, and it starts off pretty slow but is still fun for a bit.
Haha, very nice. Walking was a touch slow, but otherwise enjoyable little story(s) to get the endings.
To get a perfect score, you need to get a 1-2-3-4-5-6 to the finish line, sorry if that was unclear!
Also I made this in just a couple hours Monday night after our planned Jam game fell through, so the graphic design flourishes didn't happen (maybe we'll release it as Extra?)
Really clever! Got stuck a couple times but it was a lot of fun figuring out how to get things to the right place, very enjoyable puzzling feels.
This is super cool! Really impressive polish level on the graphics and interface. Moving is smooth, the mouse cursor/targeter is sleek, and it's just fun to play.
Asteroids do indeed look cool! Simple game loop that functions, definitely could use some more stuff but a totally reasonable comp entry.
Simple but functional! The music's a reasonable little background tune, and the controls work, even if they're a little momentum-heavy. Good work putting it all together yourself in just a couple days!
Great jam game! Controls work well, burrowing is a neat mechanic for dodging, and it escalates nicely with more seagulls as you play more - but I could see even going more than 3 to really ramp things up.
Bit hard, but this! is really neat and works well!
Simple, but it does function! Ninjas stole my dumplings, very rude indeed. Those dumplings were not for ninjas.
Hehee, that's fun stuff. The little sound effects are great, and it's a satisfying little puzzle remembering who can get along and such. Good work! The sprites are cute too.
The music, sound and graphics are fantastic. The gameplay loop is a little repetitive, but is enjoyable enough for a little bit.
Neat little game! Always good to see some IF in jams, especially text-based.
Little bug:
>x harbormaster He is pretty big. All that rope pulling keeps him in ship shape. He has a small boat for sale. >ask harbormaster for boat You can't see any such thing.
Clean and functional, nothing super amazing going on but it works as a game :)
