Very nice graphics and the music is really good. I also enjoyed the gameplay although it was a bit difficult. Only got about 4 screens in. I would have changed the game over to something else personally for this compo. But very good game!

Cute platformer with an interesting twist in that you turn into a slime when close to dying. I liked the checkpoint-lives hybrid system. Art was amazing for a 48-hour jam, especially with how tight the gameplay was. Very nice entry. There were a couple physics issues that made me die a couple times in what seemed like a trivial situation, but there is never enough time to QA everything.

Great concept from the theme! It was hard, Well put together and polished. Great stuff!

I liked it! Loved the aesthetic and art style for the game! Only complaint was that not having a timer as a slime made it feel weird and does picking up the time potions as a slime do anything? Still loved it overall!

Fun game. I like the gameplay and the level design. I also think that it is very impressive to have good pixel graphic, sound effect, and music in such a short time frame. It would be nice if I can see how much time I have before I die as a slime though. Well done!
@turkey Thanks for the feedback. Yes the potions will continue to extend time in slime form.

Cute graphics, and smooth controls! I feel like the difficulty or speed of the timer may be a little high out of the gates, I kept dying before having time to explore and discover mechanics. Overall nice little platformer and cool concept.

I liked it. Everything is cool. Most of the jam games has some parts that missing but this game is fully functional with audio, graphs and coding.
This looks like an NES game, and it's about as hard as one! It seems like all of the potions are located so that you can just barely get to them on time. My biggest complaints are that the collisions boxes on the potions and hearts are way to small (I often had to jump to grab them, even when my body was clearly overlapping them) and it's very confusing dying as a slime to running out of time, even when there's no timer on screen. That being said, I love the aesthetic of this game, and it's exceptionally solid overall, especially for compo.
Really great art, the mechanic was interesting, the only thing that was annoying, was the platforming can feel rather clunky at times.
Felt a little too unforgiving. mess up one jump and its game over.

I enjoyed the graphics and music. Definitely felt like a speed-runner kind of game. Most of the potions hearts were not useful and the difficulty ramped up at the 4th screen to what seemed near impossible.. not sure if that was just part of the theme and we were never supposed to win?
Overall a great submission for compo! Really impressive!
Thanks!

The slime form was somewhat confusing, overall the game is cool though. The jump did feel weak, and hearts are hard to grab.
Wow! What a great game! I'm very impressed that this game is for compo. Cool graphics, sfx and sountrack! Really like the controls, works very well. But sometimes i felt that my jumps were a little bit unstable (sometimes the character go higher and sometimes it seems "stuck" on the platforms). I think that the game is very difficult, maybe because i'm terrible or it was intentional due the theme, i think that we will never know. Congratulations for this great project!
Nice platformer, good job. However, I don't feel like the audio is playing correctly on the web build, it sounds very very choppy (yes, choppier than chip tunes normally sound).
Music and graphics are very good! The conceit of the game is very clever, although the unforgiving nature makes it not as much fun to play as it could be. Pixel perfect jumps and full resets are frustration makers.
The desert swooshy air is very impressive, specifically.

I find it interesting how the balance of trying to delay the transformation changes the paths you take throughout the levels. Very adorable little platformer!
it kinda feel like gato roboto, exepcially the part where you have the distorted vision. the difficult is fair, and i also liked the pixel art

Wow, I really loved this. The art is beautiful, sounds are great and it kept me playing even when failing.
On the technical side, I feel like I should be able to press space right after touching ground, I felt like I was being glued to the floor.
I liked this "secret" level when dropped below the bridge on the start :) Great job!
Thanks for bringing your game by my stream for feedback! If you’d like to revisit the play and commentary you can view the highlight at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1447203083
Nice take on a platformer. "slimes can't tell time" was an interesting mechanic, although I'm not sure I ultimately liked its effect on the game. I'd really have to try again without the timer bug to be sure, though, I suspect that dominated my reaction.
As discussed, there was an issue where the timer didn't reset when you fell into a pit, which made those effectively cost you two hearts a lot of the time, in a frustrating way.
Really nice feel to it ... I was stuck a little too long before I figured out to go below the bridge  No fault of the game  It's well polished and fits the theme perfectly

I think I'd enjoy this more if the timer was slightly more forgiving. Trying to get hearts just doesn't seem worth it with the time loss, for example.
Some things were a bit confusing. Why does the bar go down in uneven increments when you're in human form? Why is there no timer in slime form? etc.
Those complaints aside, the game looks and sounds great. Even if it's a bit rough around the edges, it's suuper impressive for a compo entry. Good job.

Really cute graphics, the control are good and snappy. Cool game, great job !
Fun game and well polished! Restarting the game on game over was pretty brutal, wanted to see more of the content but didn't want to have to play through everything again. Overall great job

Tiles and sprites are beautifully made, music is really good too. The platforming is a little difficult, especially in tight spaces. It is also a little confusing that sometimes the timer decreases faster but sometimes slower. I think some tweaking of the difficulty curve could benefit the game. Still, impressive game for such a short time.

I liked that the levels had checkpoints but would have liked if you just replayed a level when losing all lives instead of starting from the beginning. I also did not really understand how much time I had as a slime, it just showed -1 and then sometimes I would die. Overall a fun game, though.
Very solid looking game with not so simple mechanics. Slime mechanics seem confusing at first, but you grasp their principles during the gameplay. Pseudo-retro style feels nice and, also, some of the jumps seem as unfair as those in the retro-games.

Nice game! Graphics and audio are superb and the gameplay feels great! I really like that wavy effects in the 4th level.

Challenging little platformer... The graphics and music definitely oozed that old school adventure game vibe. I know it's a more modern example, but the soundtrack reminded me quite a lot of Shovel Knight.
Good fun to play--could have done with an indicator for how long you have left once you're a slime (or a more obvious one if one's already there and I missed it!) and slight repositioning of the hitboxes so you don't have to jump to collect some of the pickups that look like you should just be able to walk through them.
Great work!
Interesting game. Looks really nice. The one negative point I have is that it sometimes feels like I'm dying for no reason/get no feedback when I'm about to die. Besides that it was pretty fun.
Nicely done! Really liked the art style and the music. Overall a great game.
The pixel art of the sidescroller's simple, and brilliant! It meshes well with the gameplay, and the controls of this game are tight and intuitive! UI's also simple, and presents the status of the player well. Audio I have no criticisms with, though it's an almost catchy beat! The heat wave shader in the 4th screen is also a plus, capturing the desert heat well. In addition, the game conveyed the jam's theme solidly by using a slime transformation as "the inevitable" the player is trying to delay (if he reaches the temple, probably to defy, which is an extra point from me on the theme category).
A few critiques I have are that there should be a countdown timer, or at least, a warning, for when the player is turned into a slime to show how much time the player character has left before dissolving. Another is that I got stuck in between the platforms a couple of times, could that be a bug of sorts?
Critiques aside, this is one of the best games of this jam so far! Congratulations!
**ETA:** I downloaded the Mac executable for this game, and for some reason, it's not working. Is there any additional software I need to download before playing it on my Mac?
@boaromayox Thank you for the feedback. I'm not sure why you are having trouble with the Mac version. I developed it on Mac and tested the build version. I did not test on an Intel Mac, but it shouldn't matter as the engine is made for Intel and not M1. Thanks for bringing that up, I'll look into it when I get a chance.
Edit: Tested fine on an Intel Mac so I am not sure what is happening with yours.

This is really fun! The graphics and sound/music are among the best I've ever encountered in a TIC-80 game, especially for just 48 hours' work. This really feels like something you would have played on the SNES or Genesis. The controls are tight, the mechanics are easy to understand, and the levels are well-designed and with a pleasing amount of variety. My only regret is that I got stuck on Level 3 and couldn't see everything the game had to offer, but even then, I appreciate how genuinely challenging this manages to be.
This has to be one of my favourite entries this time round, and I'd love to see more of it.

Really beautiful art and audio! I was confused about the "out of time" dialogs, as they seemed to happen both as a human and as a slime, and as a slime there is no time counter? Running out of hearts also shouldn't make you restart from the beginning, as that's a bit frustrating and gets people off the game I think. Anyway beautiful presentation!
Really liked the music and the pixel aesthetic!

Hard to understand parts of the gameplay, but the graphics look really nice and music fits the game really well.
Good job!
