LD44 — Your life is currency

Get Money, You Die! by David Wildemann 2019-04-30T10:13:09Z

Fun game. I think parrying an attack can be more impactful visually, but it feels great when you get the parry. The pace is a bit slow because you have to wait for the enemies to shoot and all but I can see that's from the constraint of the theme. Really enjoyed it :)

Autumn Papillon by Tay 2019-04-29T22:54:40Z

Neat game considering you have so much to do in so little time. Less impactful but definitely a unique interpretation to the theme. Really like it :)

What do YOU want? by Ever 2019-05-01T16:09:40Z

Great game, certainly unique. Really like the art... and hey, fellow LOVE2D user :)

Pay to Win - Your life edition by MarcosShiuuri 2019-04-30T11:17:55Z

I agree with what other commentors said, maybe spawn enemy off screen and have they move in. Really like the aesthetic, fun game :)

Life Delivery Service by Gorrion 2019-04-30T10:48:12Z

Ram into the patients on my first try lol. I like how you can do donuts to trap passersby. Enjoy playing it :)

Petulant Petrolheads by SeriouslyCrunchy 2019-05-01T16:23:59Z

Great work, certianly can use some polish, but nevertheless very impressive :)

Death Note Teaches Typing by pke1029 2019-04-29T08:41:28Z

@lemonz-418 Cool suggestion. I deliberately made it hard because I want the player to have interaction with the reaper, or else it will be totally out of line with the theme of the jam. Thanks for trying my game.

Death Note Teaches Typing by pke1029 2019-04-29T08:42:11Z

@gear-steak I re-uploaded the game, please try it out.

Difficult for sure. Still, very impresive for a new dev.

The Bar Game by lemonz-418 2019-04-30T10:30:52Z

I feel the same as bnmkt. I think the constraint of the theme hinder the imagination of the game. With some iterations, I can see it being an awesome puzzle game. Still, good job finishing a game :)

Slice of Scythe by Miyolophone 2019-05-01T15:47:12Z

Adorable. Very hard though. Love the story and humor :)

The Blind Hummingbird by Webox 2020-04-21T18:17:54Z

Well polish game with great visuals and audio, could be a bit easier (or that I am just bad).

Keep the bee (Jeez) Alive by dhim 2020-04-21T18:38:54Z

Definitely one of the best I have seen. The night theme is stunning, althought I couldn't seems to be able to beat it.

Keep Her Light by arche-san 2020-04-25T12:15:45Z

A little difficult to grasp what to do next, multiple correct answer would be nice. Really like the art style and animation.

Controls is a bit difficult to get, really like the visuals and music.

Life by pke1029 2020-04-20T11:06:37Z

@munkkeli Thanks! The game is not very balance due to its nature, so I thought to focus on the educational aspect. Definitly would like to expand on the game play.

@kjscott Thanks for playing (sorry for the loud music). I have always wanted to promote Maths in an interactive manner. I do think the traditional gamifications of Maths aren't very engaging and felt forceful to play.

@kjscott Matt is definitely someone I aspire to become. Thanks for playing!

Save the Fish by Duck Reaction 2020-04-21T20:17:54Z

Extreamly well made, curious how you made the animation.

LD50 — Delay the inevitable

Shepherd's Island by blinry 2022-04-17T22:22:29Z

I love the puzzles. The premises are simple and easy to understand, and I am impressed by the puzzles you made out of it. The solutions are very cleaver and satisfying. Also, happy to see a game made with love2d.

Akashica by Skruffye 2022-04-18T11:25:24Z

I have not played a lot of TTRPG, so I am not sure what the different stats do and how they affect the progression. The mood is great, I think some sound effect such as door opening would add another layer of immersion to the game. The final Endless staircase is really cool and had me for a second. I thought I was stuck or needed some item to progress. Very cool entry.

Rise n Time by alec 2022-04-09T13:29:46Z

Fast pace and really fun to play. I love the aesthetic of the dream realm and the music is great. The only feedback I have is maybe normalize the diagonal movement speed? I think the game can benefit from some precise platforming. Impressive Compo entry!

Aloft by ColeSlaughter 2022-04-17T21:47:38Z

Took me about 30 minutes to clear all the levels. The credit scene is really beautiful, and I love the choice of font you use. The game is quite challenging, but reasonable once I got use to the controls. My only suggestion is to make the spike hit boxes a little more lenient, so the game feels more fair to the player.

Cursed Unicorn by gord10ahmet 2022-04-04T21:53:34Z

Love Vampire Survivor. The space is a little small and I was quickly overwhelmed by the enemies. I think with more upgrades and some balancing of the enemy spawning the game could be really fun!

Dyker by lenaschimmel 2022-04-09T13:59:35Z

Very innovative game play and great use of the theme. The item description is easy to understand and having the time only passes when the player start doing stuff is also really nice. I was a little overwhelmed at first but the first few levels are very lean and give you ample time to learn, and when I got to the last level, it left me wanting more! I think slowly introducing the actions to the player could make the game more approachable. Great game overall, I enjoyed playing it.

Holding On by Cubanfrog 2022-04-18T08:47:22Z

Really like the atmosphere and story you have created. I think some small animations on the character and background would make the scene more alive. The tower defence part is a little on the simpler side, but I still have plenty of fun.

The Flower of Marasca by F1Krazy 2022-04-06T18:00:19Z

Yay, a fellow TIC-80 dev! I really like the theme with the metroidvania dungeon exploration and the execution is great! I played the tic.com version of the game (not sure if there's any difference) and I wasn't sure what to do after I got the flower and used it. Pretty sure I am stuck at that point, so I modify the code to execute the ending :) There are also a few clipping issue when I use the feather but that's not too big of a deal. There's a point where I used up all my fire power and died before getting the check point, so it makes replaying the stage without the fire a little difficult. A suggestion would be to have a minimum cap of the number of power ups when the player dies? Overall, it's a great game and I have fun playing it!

Les Aventures de De Lay L'Inévitable! by natpat 2022-04-16T20:03:17Z

Neat little game. Love the different characters and the particle effect is very satisfying.

Wrath of Dog by Maytch 2022-04-05T10:12:11Z

I didn't see the twist coming from such a cute looking game. The mechanics is really fun to play with and the music and sound design are on point. The only suggestion I have is to work on improving the movement physics. AFAIK, there are some great platformer library for Unity (such as the one by Tarodev) and could greatly benefit the controls. Overall a very fun game, it took me around 10 minutes to beat the game!

Runic Moon by pke1029 2022-04-04T21:57:23Z

@circle Thank you for playing! Our team like to prioritize the atmosphere of the game (so the game has less depth than your space exploration game, but it is what we like to make!) and I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the music and graphics. We currently have no plans for future update.

@mira Thank you for trying out our game (15 is plenty). I would spend more time on balancing the difficulty given more time!

@gord10ahmet Thank you for the high ratings. The game is meant to be challenging, but I think I might have accidentally made it too difficult!

Runic Moon by pke1029 2022-04-06T18:59:10Z

@stalemeat Thank you for playing! We really enjoyed setting the mood and the world of the game and I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

@spice-cabinet I agree with you that @starling did an amazing job with the music and SFX. I am sure she will be delighted to hear that. Thank you for playing!

@indiepixel Thank you for the feedback. The main idea of the game is to have the phase of the moon to act as the timer, the time is up when the moon is fully covered, hence the name of the game - Runic Moon. The blue bar at the top is the secondary visual cue for the timer, which is why I made it less prominent. As for the double-clicking mechanic, I wish we had more time to include the instructions in the game. We didn't have the time, so the instructions is moved to the description. A low-time warning is a great idea too! I'd definitely like spend more time on the instructions in the future.

@smttz Thank you for playing! I hope you enjoy playing it.

Seed Of Time by theStoff 2022-04-05T19:43:01Z

Would you consider making a Linux or a web build? I would love to try out the game.

Seed Of Time by theStoff 2022-04-05T22:41:44Z

Love the design and the art style of the game! I played the game jam version of the game. I really like it, but the final level brutal (Took me 32 minutes to beat the game). I find it frustrating that sometimes I touched the bubble but not got in, so maybe consider increase the hitbox of the bubble? In the last level, there are some maneuver that require some depth perception and gauging the distance of the dash, I find those difficult to do. The last feedback is to maybe make the 'Final hour' prompt don't reset the level, I found myself losing some of my progress that way. I'm sure you've fixed some, if not all, of these issue in your post jam version. Overall a really nice game and enjoyed playing it!

Pizza Gal by No Grapes Games 2022-04-05T09:49:19Z

Really like your interpretation of the theme, and not resorting to an endless survival game. The art and cut scene is beautifully drawn and the instructions are very clear. I am very impressed by the amount of assets you have made in such a short time, you even have an ending card! A minor feedback is to lean on your art strength by having icons of the character on the GPS instead of the triangle or a little more polish/design to the UI of the GPS. I really enjoyed playing it! (My final score is 2750, not sure how it fare)

Circuits by mira 2022-04-04T21:42:46Z

Would you consider to make a linux or web build? I would love to try out your game.

Circuits by mira 2022-04-05T09:22:02Z

I love the mini game style you are going for in this game. My suggestion would be to make the game more fast-paced such as those found in WarioWare, I think it can give the game a sense of urgency and keep the player on their toes. Does the letters in the snake mini game has any significance? Otherwise, I think it is a fun game.

Legman's Breakout by Spice Cabinet 2022-04-09T20:31:43Z

Interesting spin on the classic game. Having the terrain changes over time in a breakout game is really interesting and I can see a lot of potential with the premise. I think the movement can be improve by making it more snappy. Fun little game.

Sandwich Drop by Renge 2022-04-17T21:55:16Z

Love the hand drawn cutscene, made me lol.

Somnokid by Saturnyoshi 2022-04-05T21:27:16Z

Love this game to bits! The production quality is off the roof and to think that this in made in 72 hours!? The game has a surprising amount of depth given it's a shmup where I keep trying different strategy to beat the levels. It took me about one hour to complete the game. I don't have a lot of feedback other than the spring physics takes a bit to get use to (but even that is fun to play with). This is by far the best game I have played in the jam.

lose95 by Sulo 2022-04-05T19:38:55Z

Love the concept and brilliantly executed. The game does a great job explaining the rules and introducing the items and enemies one by one. The UI feels smooth and polish and the sound design is great. This is definitely one of my favorite entries so far.

Hex'd by Paroxysmal 2022-04-09T13:17:25Z

Tiles and sprites are beautifully made, music is really good too. The platforming is a little difficult, especially in tight spaces. It is also a little confusing that sometimes the timer decreases faster but sometimes slower. I think some tweaking of the difficulty curve could benefit the game. Still, impressive game for such a short time.

RUN COFFEE RUN by aerloth 2022-04-09T21:15:36Z

The art design is great and I love the count down with the eye closing. I find the game a little difficult, the timer is quite tight but mainly because of the spacious room and I am not sure where I should go or if what I do is intended or not.

I Don't Wanna Reincarnation by crotonyl_alcohol 2022-04-05T23:10:07Z

I really like the doodle aesthetic of the game and I love how you incorporated the theme into a choose your own adventure game. I didn't notice the days I have left on my first playthrough and I was a little confused when I game over. My suggestion would be having the three currencies: Days left, Karma, and Money be placed at the right or middle of the screen (instead of left) so that it is closer to where the player is reading. Overall a very charming game.

Sweet Bedtime O' Mine by K4M1 2022-04-18T18:44:33Z

Cute little game. I really like the pixel art title screen and the end card. The scratching attack is a little difficult to use, but I was able to beat the game after a few tries. I also find that not getting the movement speed power up help with the controls a lot.

JellyJam by potkirland 2022-04-18T18:36:39Z

The game is fun to play, and I really like the shader and colour palette. I think adding some obstacles could make the game a lot more interesting. I love that you gave the jellyfish expressions >,<

Whoa! It's like a space game or something! by circle 2022-04-04T21:24:45Z

I am impressed by how much you have done in such a short amount of time. Love these kind of strategy exploration game and I can see myself investing a lot of time on it. If you don't mind a few feedback: I find myself keep forgetting how to navigate the GUI or the meaning of each icon. A suggestion would be to display a description when the player hover the mouse over said icon. I think some polishing of the GUI could bring the game up a notch. The other minor suggestion is the key mappings. I am aware that you make it possible to remap the key, but the default Enter key is a little far from the rest of the buttons, maybe consider using the space bar as the default conformation button instead? I hope you don't take my comment too harshly, I really enjoyed the game.

Tamaghost Jump! by Kaiyaki 2022-04-05T20:00:05Z

Love the atmosphere you have created (I expect nothing less from the creator of Project Kat!). Really like the art style and I did not expect the game to become so spooky at the end there! I thoroughly enjoyed playing it.
