Ohhhh nice, a 2D platformer breakout, now thats innovative :laughing: great game ! The concept is cool and the execution is clean ! I did get stuck or go through the floor for no obvious reason sometimes :thinking: thanks for the entry.

This is a great variant of Break Out! The breakable floor is kind of like extra lives but it also makes it trickier... and of course, leads to your inevitable loss. The legs are well animated and I like the little GB game cover art too. I only ran into one bug where the ball started bouncing horizontally at the top of the screen and never came down - the forfeit button was useful there.
I love that the "power-ups" are anything but good. Faster? Nah, I'm good thanks. More balls? I'll pass.
i had plenty of fun and really like the inclusion of a leaderboard.
I was going for the top but the ball got stuck in a horizontal limbo where it wasn't ascending or descending anymore
Really cool take on a classic game. I did find a bug that was quite funny lol, you can hook the bottom of the paddle on the ball and go flying with it :laughing:. One thing I wish there was is you could get back up if your caught on the side of a hole, great job overall I had fun.
Yeah. I wasnt quite sure how to handle the horizontal bug in the time I had left to finish so I added in that forfeit button as a place holder. Getting stuck in a hole and having to either wait it out or quit is also quite annoying so I agree with you there @aderpychickenstudios. Im glad you found the ascension bug but I prefer to thing of it as a ***feature*** :laughing:
Very interesting idea, I figured out very quickly to not pick up the ball speed "powerup" hahaha. I wish the jumping was a little more solid when hitting the ball, right now you just stop when hitting the ball while it feels like the ball should have much less weight than the guy.
The physics was pretty satisfying, I particularly was happy to see how hitting it with legman's legs still worked pretty well, and aiming the ball wasn't too tough. Nice code!

Clever concept and well executed aside from a few minor bugs. Leaderboards were a nice touch!
Interesting spin on the classic game. Having the terrain changes over time in a breakout game is really interesting and I can see a lot of potential with the premise. I think the movement can be improve by making it more snappy. Fun little game.
I love the mashups of genres! I would love to see this if you continue working on it after the jam.

I had some problems with the collisions and at one point the ball only moved horizontally and I couldn't go any further in the game~ it was fun, the combination of mechanics is great but I would have liked to see more from the platformer side because I felt like the only thing that changed compared to a breakout game was that i could move vertically a bit...
then gravity came and made me remember that it wasn't like that~ above all good game and see you in another jam!!!
Who doesn't love a good breakout game? I also learned about dreamlo thanks to this, which I appreciate.
Great game! I mean, having breakout as a base game, the game was going to be fun since the beginning, but jumping and dashing made it a lot more fun. I may have found some bugs, but they only made it more fun, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. What else can I say? Sprites were simple but effective, and the sounds were also nice. Overall, really fun game, so congratulations!

Wow! I'm really quite impressed @corrupt-spaghetti that you were able to get up there! Most of those scores were put there by my playtester before all the functionality was built in. Kudos to you for surpassing him!
