very cool game! especially being turn-based so you have to plan your moves
A Pico-8 game, very impressive! I really like the colour scheme you went for and the music changing depending on the state of the game. Very stylish minimalism all round :)
I had a look at the source code, I didn't realise Pico-8 was scripted in Lua, neat! Love the way the graphics and sound are encoded right there in the same file too.
I like the game and retro astetics. The gameplay mechanics are really quick to pick up.
Very cool game and that art style is amazing. I love that it's all built around that one tight mechanic, great work!
this game is so coool!!
Really neat! Fun little strategy game. Music and graphics meshed well. Easy to pick up and understand, hard to master :)
On a 13'' macbook the top of the game is cut off. Nice little mechanic. Completing music for a compo is something I aspire to. If you plan to expand, maybe different movement values for terrain / water, possibility of drowning etc.
Oou nice, same comment as Cryptomnesic, the top part is cut off. It'S addictive
Neat simple game. Possibly a bit hard, it seemed basically impossible to keep the fire burning once there were a bunch of enemies around it, but I guess it's score attack so that's okay.
This is a really fun game with a surprising amount of strategy potential (if you let there be more than 2 enemies on screen)! Also love the music
This feels really well scoped. It looks great and I had a fun time playing. Probably the biggest strength, in my opinion, is that it's very clear what I'm supposed to be doing immediately. I feel like a lot of jam games struggle with that.
This is so much fun! I love how you've managed to keep it so minimal with just movement controls!
This is really cute. It took me a couple rounds to understand what was going on, but once I got the hang of it, I had fun throwing the little guys back to their corners.
I'm terrible at this game but I kept playing which means its good. I am always surprised by how good the games you guys and gals that do PICO-8 development end up. While personally my high score in this game was -49 I did really enjoy it and you have really nice music and sound effects as well. Truely a really solid game. You did a fantastic job (I didn't notice the japanese until after writting my comment so just to just to say it again 良いゲーム (google translate tells me this means good game in japanese)
What a great game!
Nice visuals, great color scheme. The gameplay was hard but not frustrating. Could need a bit more balance on the enemy spawn rate, as it was just overwhelming at the end after they took the fire too often.
Well, get off my swamp!
Awesome game! Pretty hard pretty quick, I liked the gameplay most when I was quickly beating up dudes and constantly taking my fire back before they reached it, that's when the enjoyment peaked for me! Also the water is visually so smart and cool
I didn't get the goal immediately, but on the second run, I had fun kicking those guys stealing my fire! I don't know if I'm really bad, but when there are too much guys around the fire, it seems impossible to light it without getting stolen immediatly, fun concept though :)
The difficulty ramps up quickly. I love the pico-8 games and the retro style. Well done!
Quite of a fight to keep this guys away! :muscle: Some strategy, but whenever 4-5 are waiting for the flame in the center, you can only surrender  Well done!
I like the jiggly animations of the characters, like they are making a dance around the fire.
This is a amazing game, the best one so far. The theme is spot on, the gameplay inovative. And I was able to learn the mechanics very quickily without a tutorial, that is a hard thing to do.
Such a simple thing you need to do but quickly devolves into chaos and sanity of getting the fire back from the body. I love this game! It's easy to learn, too~
There's a few things I need to say for feedback: * It's nice to keep that up once the chaos starts going. I felt it cheap once I place the fire it literally gets grabbed on the same move. At least there should be 1 turn of it being there so I could recover some of the score. * Though it plays good as intended, the score system feels a bit useless. I feel a fail state is missing for reaching 0. I saw the numbers go negative. A highest score is nice to see! * For visibility, a dotty field feels very much of an eyesore after awhile despite the player and the enemies clearly seen. Try to lower the brightness of the field next time.
Other than that I had fun playing this game. Great work~!
Dear diary, after three hundred days of wandering through the windlerness I woke up on an island and saw my fire stolen! These pesky cavemen were relentless, every time I slayed a group, and I was given no choise but to do that, a new batch spawned out of nowhere! Hideous creatures only bent on one thing, taking my fire, my only lifeline. I cannot begin to imagine what it is that makes them behave this way, but I can feel my end is drawing near. If you will not hear of me again, know what tragedy fell upon me. Signed, Dr. Roger Johanson III
Really liking all the fantasy console games. Very nice mechanics and fun game!
This was super cool! Love the simple mechanic. Was really easy to jump in and understand. Plus it was fun!
I would have liked the z+x keys explained in game, even if it's a "z to jump" "x to skip" as would have helped me get to grips with the game a little bit quicker.
Also on mobile, I had to full screen the game else the up button wouldn't work. I had almost abandon trying to play until I remembered Pico-8 could do that and hoped it fixed the issue.
I enjoyed playing the game and I would like to hope I can come back to playing it again some more. If it's on the Pico Bbs would probably try to favourite it so I don't lose track of it.
I loved the idea! I would just work on the difficulty. In addition to an endless mode, it would be cool to see levels where you could kill the bad guys instead of just respawning them.
I liked your ideia. Nice take on the theme.
I dont know why but I like those minimalist graphics.
Very nice looking game in a classic atari-ish style. Things spiraled out of control pretty fast though, but it was really fun.
I really loved how chaotic this became the further you progressed. Enjoyed it immensely
the best strategy I could come up with was to grab the fire when they get too close and circle until it's safe but once there were too many couldn't make it super far. Nice game!
I like the game and how strategic you have to play (and can play!) to keep the fire alight. It gets hard really quick, but that's a part of what makes the game fun.
Simple, yet addictive. Fun idea & solid execution!
Cool idea for the theme. I like the puzzle concept so you need to plan your moves. Good job!
Lots of potential, but soon enough I start getting swarmed and even though I can push them back and put the flame back on, it never lasts there for more than a round and I end up with either 1, 2 or negative points.
Nice little game. I included it in my Ludum Dare 46 compilation video series, if you want to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/rlppIbg4aVI
I live for games with this type of art! Very fun little game with real raised stakes and challenge, and played it for a bit. Took me back to the style of some of the games my parents used to play, but I definitely remembered fondly because of the style.
Genius game! I loved every aspect of it! The roguelike/puzzle mix is simple and fun. The graphics blends perfectly with the audio. The upper left corner is cutted playing on the browser, but that's just a little detail. Excellent work!
Hey! Played your game and love how you made a really smart little game! Here's the feedback, sorry for the late post, I got sick and had to take a break https://youtu.be/lRO6eo6fBbM?t=1789
