LD46 — Keep it alive

I am your Dead by Akelliona 2020-04-21T19:12:19Z

First of all, great job. The sprites are adorable. However,I felt that the movement system is a bit confusing to be honest and could probably use some explanation. And I guess it is feature that the characters move on their own if you wait to long? I felt that it added to my confusion, especially since movement required mana as well. But I think the game shows some potential and would look stunning with a few more animations added to e.g. the character movements.

A nicely made game. Short and to the point. The pixel art is crisp and cute. The friend going to prison looks like a carbon copy of Joe Exotic, which I thought was quite funny. Although I didn't understand why the main character have such a huge nose compared to every other character. All in all, pretty fun game.

Very nice graphics with some nice pixel-art. A very pleasant soundtrack which combined with the really nice lighting effects creates a very pleasant mood. The auto-aiming might have made the game a bit to easy. The tactic to survive often boiled down to dropping the spirit, and then standing still while pressing left mouse furiously. You could also beat the final boss without entering the arena and simply shoot him from afar, which I felt was a bit underwhelming for an otherwise very strong game. But alll in all a really impressive effort.

Guilty Transplant by AntaresValdemar 2020-04-21T17:04:02Z

A pretty good game with some fairly aesthetic 3D graphics and which adheres to the theme nicely. One improvement would probably to move down the camera slightly. The current view felt a bit...restrictive...maybe. Also I don't understand how #46 can be considered the successful experiment when she is the only one not strutting around the lab als and requires organ'transplants every other minute. Nice work nonetheless.

VURM by AndrewJAdams 2020-04-20T21:35:47Z

Surprisingly fun. A new take on the classic snake with a few new innovations, making it quite challenging. Also nice with a linux installer. A little music would have made the game even more enjoyable though.

Planet Escape by heidelbert 2020-04-21T15:57:20Z

The soundtrack is very nice, really hammers home a feeling of dread. The graphics are very nice too, reminds me of some old adventure games I used to play in the 90's. However, the slow zoom in to the control-stations got a bit tedious after a while, even though the zoom effect looked nice. Unfortunently, I found it difficult to understand what one is suppose to do in this game. I tried to construct components with the fabricator, but even when I have enough energy the I can't press the buttons. Perhaps it is a bug.

The assets and animations are amazing. The gameplay was pretty intriguing too, and pretty challenging. I feel like there should be different way of moving when not engaged in combat. It was pretty frustrating having to jump around one square per second to move across the map. The default sound settings are a bit weird too, the music is barely audible while the effects are surprisingly loud when they appear. But overall a very nice game which must have had some love put into it. Great job!

Paints of Mind by Onizik 2020-04-21T16:13:51Z

Great game with very nice-looking art. I in particular love the way the hands move towards the player. Feels very ominous. One of the main drawbacks, in my opinion, is that when you enter a new "room" you always spawn in the same spot. This makes it difficult to determine where you came from if there are multiple portals in a room. I feel this made navigation unnecessary frustrating.

MegaCorn - Strategy / Economy Simulator by KittRangers 2020-04-21T16:50:33Z

The art and music and overall aesthetic of the game is superb. It took a while to understand the mechanics but after failing a couple of times the underlying logic becomes apparent. Doesn't make it any less hard though, since you need to move around your disposable workers frenetically to keep resources balanced. Very good game with potential to become a great game.

Egg Drop by Bob174 2020-04-21T18:58:43Z

Is that a friggin' Jojo's reference? Love the music and in particular the art. Although the sound of crushed chicken fetuses will probably haunt my dreams tonight. If I had one comment it would be maybe that the egg should be able to take a few hits. The current version felt a bit too unforgiving when the two players are fighting over the egg, and more often than not it just get smashed against the ground.

Very nice looking game in a classic atari-ish style. Things spiraled out of control pretty fast though, but it was really fun.
