My ending score was 37.

Wow this game is an absolute delight. There's so much going on here with the art and the atmosphere. I feel like I really got dragged into this world. Big points to the theme. The graphics and audio though, now those are where this game really shines through. It's pretty to look at, and the music is really amazing. It feels like it could have been an actual track from an old snes game. I love it. As for the gameplay, I like it well enough, I think it makes good use of the theme. What adds to it is the runic moon looming over you, creating a sense of urgency that a number or energy bar can't hold a candle to. Overall really cool game. I wonder if maybe either of you have any plans to update this in the future?

mira 2022-04-04 20:45

Well, my score is 15 only. I'm not very good in this game. But i love the art style and sounds. Overall was fun to play. Nice entry.

Difficult, but cute game! 5/5 for Innovation, Graphics and Mood.

pke1029 2022-04-04 21:57

@circle Thank you for playing! Our team like to prioritize the atmosphere of the game (so the game has less depth than your space exploration game, but it is what we like to make!) and I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the music and graphics. We currently have no plans for future update.

@mira Thank you for trying out our game (15 is plenty). I would spend more time on balancing the difficulty given more time!

@gord10ahmet Thank you for the high ratings. The game is meant to be challenging, but I think I might have accidentally made it too difficult!

stalemeat 2022-04-05 08:55

The entire thing was very well executed. This is a polished entry. Felt very retro, and that's a good thing. The music was fantastic. It really set the mood. Art is great too! It's a nice, cute little matching game that I had fun playing.

spice-cabinet 2022-04-06 01:59

Wow. This is a cute game! It was all very well done but I have to say @starling, that sound design is **on point**! Very impressive.

indiepixel 2022-04-06 03:23

This Game was adorable, the art and music where very fitting.

aerloth 2022-04-06 11:00

Graphics, audio, mood - totally amazing, I was taken back to GBC era with clean, beautiful pixel art, comforting sounds and chill tune in the background. My brain takes pleasure in matching patterns, the icons were well designed to be similar but not 100% which hit the sweet spot for me.

I didn't catch from the instruction that it's possible to double-click to get rid of the bubbles, so at first I thought that this is the "inevitable" part where I run out of correct symbols and I'm forced to place the wrong one in the cauldron - a small on-screen prompt would help a lot here!

Only on my 2nd playthrough I noticed the timer on the top - at first I was not sure why I lost! I think it could be more visible as now it blends with the background a lot (or some kind of a low-time warning?)

Good job, nice entry! :v:

smttz 2022-04-06 11:06

nice pixel art, nice atmosphere

renge 2022-04-06 17:15

Lovely music and art! The gameplay could use a bit more features, maybe, but what was there was very entertaining! Nice entry!

100th-coin 2022-04-06 18:57

Ooh, the music is pretty dang catchy. I LOVE the artwork. the character is super adorable. My top score was 35, but I think I was in a situation where there genuinely wasn't the shape I needed. I tried screenshotting it and everything, but snipping tool screwed up and I didn't save the image. whoops. Really fun game though. Great work!

pke1029 2022-04-06 18:59

@stalemeat Thank you for playing! We really enjoyed setting the mood and the world of the game and I am glad to hear that you enjoyed it!

@spice-cabinet I agree with you that @starling did an amazing job with the music and SFX. I am sure she will be delighted to hear that. Thank you for playing!

@indiepixel Thank you for the feedback. The main idea of the game is to have the phase of the moon to act as the timer, the time is up when the moon is fully covered, hence the name of the game - Runic Moon. The blue bar at the top is the secondary visual cue for the timer, which is why I made it less prominent. As for the double-clicking mechanic, I wish we had more time to include the instructions in the game. We didn't have the time, so the instructions is moved to the description. A low-time warning is a great idea too! I'd definitely like spend more time on the instructions in the future.

@smttz Thank you for playing! I hope you enjoy playing it.

Nice item find game! I have to say RNG matters here cause on my last defeat, required ingredient was so hard to find. Oh well, it fits the theme nonetheless.

Always good to see another TIC-80 dev! I love the game's art style, and I think it manages to strike a nice balance between the casual, relaxing nature of the tile-matching drag-and-drop gameplay, and the frantic nature of the ever-decreasing timer. I would've liked to have known what my score was before I got a Game Over - I got confused and thought the 60 was my score until I realised it was the FPS timer.

Very nice job! I enjoyed it!

paroxysmal 2022-04-08 23:35

Woo another TIC-80. Great game, love the graphics and good sound and music. Great entry.

shortcreative 2022-04-09 15:38

The art and overall mood are absolutely beautiful! The fun factor just wasn't quite high enough to keep me playing long. Could be a great mini game within a bigger project.

betbet 2022-04-09 16:54

The graphics are super cute, and the runes are so intricately designed that I really found the symbol matching aspect of the game challenging on my first attempt! The music and audio really match the aesthetic, so great job on those too! In terms of gameplay, I personally wish there was a little bit more going on from earlier in the game - perhaps the difficulty could ramp up more quickly or start at a higher level, as I didn't really have that sense of urgency from the start... But overall a great job, well done!

blinry 2022-04-10 11:09

Really cute graphics, and yay for TIC-80! Playing this in a two-person team was fun! We enjoyed the relaxed mechanics!

cubanfrog 2022-04-10 16:38

Simple and elegant; very aesthetically pleasing, too. The gameplay loop could use a few twists to keep it fresh for longer, but overall a neat game!

skruffye 2022-04-10 17:00

Really lovely music and graphics. The gameplay was simple but effective--I didn't actually realise you could use mouse controls on TIC-80 games, so it took me a few moments to find my bearings!

Loved the palette you went with and how reminiscent the sparse texturing was of exactly the kind of games that inspired fantasy consoles like TIC-80 in the first place.

Great work!

logicon211 2022-04-12 02:08

Very chill game. Visuals look great too. Great job!

coleslaughter 2022-04-17 07:04

[Thanks for submitting your game to stream!](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1457959497?t=02h44m10s)

I could feel my eyes going crossed as I played. A pretty simple concept, but executed very nicely, well done!

potkirland 2022-04-18 12:15

i loved the art and the nostalgic feeling. it was great having you on the stream since you thought us we can actually manuplate the sprites! i think easier to read sprites would add positively to the whole experience. all in all pretty solid game. thanks for sharing

filipe-leal 2022-04-18 23:27

Love the art and music!

chybby 2022-04-20 15:12

The music is my favourite part, was bobbing along while playing. The art style is really cute too.

Took me a while to notice that the shape above the cauldron is the one that I'm supposed to be putting in there.

thecritterscove 2022-04-20 19:13

Really nice color scheme and graphics! The audio was suitable too, though I did find it a little grating on my ears. I might be a bit too sensitive though. I liked the idea of the gameplay, but I do think it would do better in a non-timed format. Of course the timed thing is what makes it fit the theme. Still, great job overall on this game!

homeworld 2022-04-21 13:31

Found this on the tic80 website, great job. Charming graphics and challenging gameplay (for me), but i admit i stuck around just to jam with the song on my guitar!
