definitely need tutorial. Dont understand what im supposed to do

mmayans 2023-04-30 19:25

i agree with the previous comment. I'm confused about what the goal is. I figured out that the background changes to the color of the key you press but i couldn't figure out what i was supposed to do with that or how to reach an end state. It was an interesting mechanic for sure

taxol 2023-05-01 01:35

@mmayans @kontroman I can't give you a tutorial. But I can give you two tips: 1. The place is very deep. 2. Keep moving.

haydads 2023-05-01 07:06

Yeah I really struggled to understand what it was I was doing. The colour changing with my keypress made sense, but I wasn't really sure why I was doing that. Agreeing with above ^ Certainly could use a tutorial/demonstration on how to win

dysleixc 2023-05-01 15:26

I don't think many will understand this game, I'm not sure I do either but I think I do. This is not really a game, this is more like a statement.

matt-green 2023-05-04 03:47

I eventually figured it out. It was definitely an experience. With the music and the...darkening, I kind of expected something to jump out at me, which I wasn't looking forward to.

I think I found the end?

taxol 2023-05-04 07:27

@matt-green Yeah, you find it.

geckoo1337 2023-05-04 17:56

I don't understand what I'm supposed to do - but I know that you are supposed to share source code as a compo entry :) More seriously, I really like this experience - and I want to go deeper. The gameplay is immersive (sometimes oppressive too) with a solid atmosphere. Do you really think that it fits with the theme? Give me more man. Thank you ++

taxol 2023-05-05 13:08

@geckoo1337 Thanks for your warm words. Whether it fits the theme or not, it’s all up to you I think. But I truly create this game under the inspiration of this theme. In my opinion, delivery is a process. We should design the experience during the process. So I create it you see now.

Spooky colors, you nailed the mood somehow I managed to get to the end. I wonder does the ending color unique to everyone?

st00nsa 2023-05-06 11:56

It was... an experience! Very good sound design, it creates a FEELING when color fade in the darkens. But I wish the puzzle would be easier to solve.

kerri 2023-05-06 12:39

The sound and visual effects were amazing, really atmospheric. Would be nice if there was some less subtle feedback on whether you're heading in the right direction. But very interesting game!

kitira 2023-05-07 15:21

Interesting game. Made it to the end, which I didn't think I'd ever get to at first. ^^

riley9 2023-05-07 15:26

i looooved this!! you managed to make an experience i won't forget soon, i'm sure. i really like how at first i felt disoriented, then determined (once i knew what i had to do) and then i felt scared but also... content in a way. thank you for making this !

chris1919 2023-05-07 16:04

Took me a while, but I managed to find my lost heart. I feel like there could have been more feedback to help the player understand when they are heading in the right direction. This could be more exaggerated sound design, or sfx, or maybe some more exaggerated visual cues. The experience did feel very immersive though. Headphones were definitely a good call

petronus 2023-05-07 17:25

Felt also very disoriented in the beginning and was about to give up, but started again because of the comments and hit the end - overall: interesting idea!

asmadigames 2023-05-07 18:01

I do like the sound design, interesting concept but I think you need to give a bit more info to the player.

taxol 2023-05-08 11:04

@chris1919 Thanks for your advice. I am tring to improve my abilities to achieve the effects you are talking about. See you next LD.

taxol 2023-05-08 11:08

@riley9 You definitly experience it. I'm very touched.:sob:

xbcw 2023-05-08 14:35

Reaching the end changed my perspective on the entire game. Really nice job fitting such moody feels into a 5 minute experience.
