LD53 — Delivery

T.E.M.P.S (The Enchanted Multitasking Potion Shop) by salyon 2023-05-08T00:01:14Z

It's a really neat unnerving minigames game!

Visually it's absolutely stunning. Absurd that you made all that beautiful art by yourself in 48 hours, congratulations! It all meshes really well.

The sound effects are fitting, although the music never feels tense as it should. You're multitasking four things simultaneously and the song just keeps on breezing through.

I really liked how smooth everything went, from shooting to balancing the package. I would like some other input to choose the right math answer (like pressing 1, 2 or 3), but that's just me.

Impressive looking entry, congratulations!

Hover Bites by Togis 2023-05-04T00:20:00Z

Damn that really makes me think of Transport Tycoon.

Visually it looks beautiful, I also like the small bounce buildings do when you deliver on them, well done!

The music is chill yet active, as it should be. I just missed a ka-ching sound when money was made!

I didn't find the storage building very useful. Tried to challenge myself into finishing the game with 6 drones. Tried a looot of combinations until I nailed it after the 30+ days. I wish I could move routes instead of redoing them by clicking in places. Not sure if anyone else felt this way, but a nice quality of life for me would be automatically setting to choose a destination whenever you added a new route. The amount of times I exited the drone window because I added a route and clicked in one building right after!

The only glitch I found was that the drone in the main menu shows "Click me!" once you start the game. No big deal.?

Congratulations guys!

Bulkheads by OrdiNeu 2023-05-04T15:16:51Z

Very nice puzzle game!

The retro visual is amazing. I thought the colors of the deliveries near the characters were a bit too similar (for the blocky thing and the battery, color blindness sucks) but the icons at the right saved me.

The music is beautiful and the sound effects are very fitting, well done.

The gameplay is simple but really neat. I like the progression in difficulty through levels. Though I admit I gave up on the "Only once" one, couldn't figure it for the life of me.

Congratulations!

Rhino Express by Mahjoub 2023-05-08T03:21:39Z

I was floored when I saw this one being played!

Absolutely amazing in every sense. Graphics are beautiful, there's some details in the animation, music is good, effects really pair what's seen on screen. There is even a short intro that's well done.

The progression of difficulty/mechanics was pretty well done. If I had to nit pick something it would be that there was no puzzle that was super challenging and that the restart transition could be shorter. But that's about it.

Impressive to create such an entry in 48h.

RogueLike Delivers by Ausstein 2023-05-02T22:13:55Z

I like the content-heavy grindy nature of this game.

Very cohese visually, but the lack of sound really hurt it. I just tried the web version, so maybe the other ones have sound. One thing I noticed was that while moving, especially horizontally in town, the character seems to have some judder. The environment moves smoothly, but the character doesn't.

Walking around and doing the missions worked well, although combat felt somewhat clunky. I missed some sort of loading once you chose a mission, at the first one I thought the game had frozen, but after a while I got into the delivery/fight area.

From the second mission onwards, an empty dialog appeared. Not sure what should be in there. Also, I had no idea how to check how much money I had. The merchant at the right disappeared after the second mission, but after some more missions it returned.

Kind of a grindy experience, with a little more polish and some sounds it would have been pretty neat.

Bundle Dumper: Florida Edition by cheesepencil 2023-05-06T14:59:16Z

This game is infuriating but so fun!

I first saw it on a stream and kept thinking to myself "Damn this guy sucks", then when I got to play it I saw how hard it is!

The graphics are amazing, you can recognize the rednecks and aligators. The bloodbath of every death is so ludicrous and fun.

The sound effects are awesome, but I missed some music to accompany.

I managed to beat the last level though the stork died right before the baby got delivered. I got the game over/retry screen, and then the house raised the happy baby flag. I had to rage quit!

One nit-picky thing I'd point is that the instructions mention circle button but in-game it looks like a square. This got me slightly confused at start, but it's just a small detail.

Congratulations on such a fun and crazy experience!

Delivery Boy Express by civmaniac 2023-05-07T21:40:09Z

This one is fun!

The visuals are really neat and the game is quite easy to comprehend (although controls are hard to master). Also nice touch with the brutality, I took a while to notice but the dead boy's head was quite the thing.

The music is cool but I missed more sound effects in it.

The red arrows were supposed to be the gravity? I thought so but wasn't sure. The physics are amazing and it feels really good when you get to survive your own inability with the controls, delivery boy got some skills maneuvering.

Overall a very fun game! Especially funny if you watch people rage quitting while they play!

Pizza Slingshot by waffleworksgames 2023-05-02T21:05:22Z

Awesome work!

I liked the art in this one. Reminds me of Kirby's Dream Course in a way. One thing I'd change, which I guess is pretty nit-picky, is the clients dialog ballons having the separation from the origin of the balloon. Doesn't change anything in the game but it feels weird for some reason.

Anyway, the sound as a whole is very fitting and I like how addicting it is. Most of the time it feels like you were this close from advancing to the next stage. And when you have no idea it is hard to just let go because it makes you feel like testing stupid angles!

The powered up pizzas really lacked some explanation mid-game, but reading on the page's description was enough. Also, it's rather easy to figure out by yourself.

Kudos on such an addictive experience.

Forklift-em-up by BadPiggy 2023-05-03T18:12:05Z

A brutal whack-a-mole!

Seeing it was BadPiggy I knew I was in for a treat! The game looks really fun, at first I found the 3d and pixels weird but it blends well during the action.

The soundtrack felt a tad too low, but it was very fitting and the effects were juicy.

Loved that dropping the crate without enemies did not count toward breaking a crate. The life always depleting was a nice touch to balance too. Without it could have been too easy. Took me a while to understand the combo counting, I was so focused bashing the bad guys and sometimes my score would go down.

Anyway, really good entry! Wish there was an online leaderboard. forklift.PNG

Rail Blazer by alanxoc3 2023-05-03T15:24:07Z

A simple and very complete game!

The graphics are super neat, well done on that front!

The music is chill and fits well, although I missed some sound effects, like the train starting or when you delivered cargo.

The gameplay is super simple yet challenging. I took a while to understand building a track over the forest or rocks cost more, so I went bankrupt. But on my second run I became a train tycoon! It's a nice level of challenge for a jam. Really see potential for a bigger game in this one.

Congratulations!

Crystallium by MikoziQ 2023-05-02T20:29:51Z

I loved the van physics!

I really like the blocky look of the game, visually very charming. I just felt some of the obstacles could be a bit more clear from the start, at first I tried running into the smaller crystal obstacle, the clearer one. But once you run into them you learn anyway.

The sound effects are alright, though I really missed some background music for this one.

The simple controls make for a rather slow start, once you lose at higher difficulties it feels so sluggish to retry. On difficulty 4 though things really start to get hectic. I laughed when the van started climbing crystals in high speed and flying around. It also feels rather satisfying when it floats around but still manages to land on the terrain and continue.

Only in full screen I managed to actually see the information in the bumper.

Managed to deliver 32 crystals. Thanks for this one!

Good Vibe Delivery by Kepsert 2023-05-04T01:01:26Z

Holy crap! The sheer amount of content in this one is amazing!

The art is absolutely bonkers, both visuals and audio are top-notch, really well done! I felt Helmut's voice was a tad low, but I'm not playing on my headphones right now so it could just be my speaker.

I really liked the gameplay, a lot of Celeste vibes. Although I didn't understand at first that the orbs allowed me dash. Once I got the hang of it, not even playing on a keyboard held me back (just a few times, but I managed to finish with a B vibe at least!). Also, thank you so much for load game/checkpoints! It would be too punishing for a jam game starting all over again.

There were a few glitches I found in my playthrough: 1. Mr. Stork died as I barely touched the bottom of the screen, sometimes it felt like I still had a bit of space there. 2. I also noticed he goes around walking normally once hitting the bottom, that is weird visually but doesn't impact gameplay at all. 3. I hit an invisible ceiling in one of the latter stages of the first delivery. Helmut just bounced from thin air back to the ground. Curiously on the next run nothing happened. 4. Got stuck in the 4th delivery, as seen in the image. Had to go back to main menu. 4-stuck.PNG 5. After delivering my line to Anabelle, the game froze. Once again, thanks for load games!

I would like to say the 3rd delivery as a whole is freaking amazing. Excellent vibe with the dashes and movement.

Congratulations and thanks for such a fun, lengthy game!

Purrfect Delivery by Mashiro 2023-05-03T02:34:27Z

The Windows XP Cat OS was amazing!

Most of the functions were very nice, although I just got to play the game after I read a comment over here (my dumb ass thought the explorer was to "warp levels" only, and the start button was elsewhere).

The game itself is pretty cute, with a super basic mechanic but works very well when things get hectic. As funny as the ads were, I would rather have them easier to remove. The close button on all windows was a tad too small. The 10 levels have a very good difficulty progression.

The audio is also neat. Chill song and clean sound effects.

I sort of laughed when I found out the credits window, good job!

Kind of made me want more, loved solving the levels! Congratulations on an amazing experience.

Light My Fire by Crygos 2023-05-04T17:13:02Z

I like the story idea of this runner.

It has lots of content visually, it's nice that you managed to deliver 4 different unique environments. But some of the obstacles are hard to understand if they are really an obstacle at first or part of the scenery. The character running also felt somewhat juddery, as if the cam couldn't keep the same pace as it.

The music was a bit repetitive. Though I liked the spartan warriors scream. The crocodiles sound seemed a bit over the top. It felt like the rain cloud was constantly snarling at me.

The game is quite hard due to the hitboxes. It becomes a test of luck to see whether you'll make it over a platform or stumble on it and die. It's quite punishing, especially in the second level which felt quite long. The cooldown between jumps didn't feel very intuitive either, it seemed to take quite a while before I could jump again. This became problematic in the desert environment as I could do some jumps to go over the platforms but never could time the jumps.

There is also a minor glitch, that didn't seem to affect the game: once you press space to start a new level, it seems to activate the attack with the torch. But it doesn't seem to affect the torch gauge, so not a big deal.

Nice story for this theme!

Fed Up Delivery by Sarah Alexa 2023-05-08T23:41:58Z

I like the idea of delivering by throwing to the sides of the car.

The visuals of the map and the car panel are nice. The city is pretty clear to traverse, however, I would really appreciate some changes in UI. The colors for the arrows to throw packages made me a bit confused. I thought the green one was the right side to throw, and that tricked me at the beginning. Also, the buttons at the level select screen could use more feedback, I didn't know I had them clicked until something happened on-screen. The counter with the sodas and then skulls was a bit hard to grasp at first. I thought I had to use the sodas.

Audio-wise, it's all very fitting. The car could make some more noises, like when you go rear. One thing I'd nit pick on, and that's mostly me, the relief sound right after you go into a shop triggered my misophonia. It hindered my enjoyment just a little, but that's me.

The controls are fine, I just wish the package delivering could be a tad more forgiving, many times I was very close to the delivery area and the package would land almost there, but not quite. So I had to run over it in hopes that worked. Perhaps a mini map could be helpful also! In case you decide to expand on the idea.

All in all, really neat that you added all these mechanics and it feels quite tense and hectic. Congratulations!

Crash Courier by Ategon 2023-05-03T19:56:54Z

Nice rush of adrenaline!

Visually amazing, I really like the transitions and the simple but varied backgrounds! My only complaint on that front would be that the crimson forest is damn hard to keep an eye on raiders.

Music and sound effects are very nice.

The car seemed a bit too sensitive to movement, but I guess that was on purpose. The hitboxes on the scenery felt weird sometimes, at times I'd be really close to walls and it was hard to define the limits of where it was safe.

The power ups are nice, although fire rate is way more powerful than most of them! The slow down on package delivery is a very nice touch, it would be hard to guess the power up during movement, especially later on when it gets hectic!

Talking about the hectic part, it gets so so much fun later on when it gets faster and there's lots of raiders. The start of the game feels too slow after you reach farther in the game.

All in all, one of the coolest action entries I played so far! Congratulations! crash-courier.PNG

Ultimate Package by Triangle Point 2023-05-02T19:10:21Z

Hey there, lovely art!

I really liked the music and sprites in the game, movement also feels rather smooth.

Visually the game is very cohese, although I just figured I could kill packages by jumping on them by accident inside the dungeon. The area that seems to explain about the jump wasn't very clear. Also, the walking animation is a bit off in timing, it feels like it starts way too late and continues after I stopped. Oh, and was there anything I could do with the ghost-in-a-box guy? Couldn't figure it but he looked very cute!

The music was very good and the sound effects felt fitting.

Gameplay-wise, I wish the dialogs could be advanced by clicking anywhere in the dialog. I spent a few clicks around until I understood I had to click the Click text. Jumping and moving was smooth, although there's some weird clipping in some screen transitions inside the dungeon. The boss could also show some kind of effect once hit, I started to believe it would never die.

There were some silly events at the beginning, since I hadn't figured how to kill boxes: it managed to hit me from behind Luna's place, and also killed me during chat. But I'd always respawn right near Luna anyway.

Overall, a solid platformer, kudos for making all that in 2 days!

Ultimate Package by Triangle Point 2023-05-02T20:14:05Z

@triangle-point Actually that seems pretty logical now, I feel stupid hahaha! For some reason I tried pressing S and 5 when near it because of the drawing in the box.

Mt. Deliverest by QwillaK 2023-05-02T19:28:24Z

Damn, this looks gorgeous!

Visually impressive, I felt the gauge was a bit weird to understand information, but that's pretty much it. Everything else looked very clear and cohese.

The sound effects were very good, but I felt the background was a bit too quiet. It adds to the tension but maybe some snowy tense song playing in the back would feel more fitting?

The gameplay is amazing once you get the hang of it. Really nice to go climbing rocks quickly and grabbing ropes in quick alternation. It is hard and challenging but I didn't feel like it was unfair. It always was a problem of not reacting quick enough to avoid a hazard. I just felt the dying event took too long, took a bit of the motivation to try again.

Managed to get to 72, the cold winds always get me somehow.

Very nice game, well done people!

Lil' Red Witch by Bluepir 2023-05-02T20:10:24Z

Damn, this was cute!

I really like the poems, wish I could honor them with rhymes!

Very cute visuals and a cute song to accompany! Excellent way to present the tutorial also.

I did a second run just to check the game over, nice pictures on the player defeat event. My only gripe with the game was that there seemed to be some heavy drag when moving to the right. I had to hold left for a long time until the broom started to turn. Made it slightly more challenging but it felt wonky.

Overall very good! Congratulations!

Yuki's mystery by Sevla 2023-05-04T16:26:02Z

Nice little creepy game!

I liked the visuals, although there could be a hint as to which places are interactable. I spent some time walking around in the first room wondering where to go, it wasn't very clear that I should go into the stairs, maybe if there wasn't furniture in front of it.

The audio helps on setting the mood of the game. It really feels eerie, and the short glimpses of the ghost are cool.

The gameplay works but I felt running was a bit too slow, didn't really feel like running from a ghost. The bad ending could be a bit more... gloomy or scary I guess, it lacks the impact of an evil entity.

Congratulations on setting a nice atmosphere!

Also, I laughed at the portuguese text on the good ending. Foi bem inesperado.

Deep Sands Delivery by Rjdrag 2023-05-03T14:59:39Z

Really interesting one.

Visually cohese and it's nice to customize the rig.

Music feels fitting, although the hit effects could feel more powerful (the missile ones are cool though!).

In my first run I didn't understand much of what was happening, took me a while to shoot enemies because the build button was clicked and I couldn't shoot. It was also hard to understand the delivery rules, first I went to the echo station but couldn't do anything there. On my second run I noticed that the first cargo was the blue-ish one. It would be nice to have some other hint of what can be delivered where, I could see differ the blue and the white one, but the other ones looked the same (sucks being color blind).

I had a situation in which I fell from the rig but while still kept in it, as shown in gif. It soft locked the game for me as I couldn't move, although the rig carried me through one last trip to the echo station. Here is me under the rig shooting, unable to move. sands delivery.gif

One of missiles kept on spinning around at one point, I think it targeted a desert cockroach that died too soon, so it just stood there spinning around its dead body. Looked nice though.

The crosshair kept on juddering, it doesn't affect the experience but visually it's quite annoying. The player laser could have started slightly later to not appear behind the gun, but that's just me nit picking.

Overall a really cool game! I like the setting and the customization, congratulations!

Delivery, Xtreme by anguium 2023-05-02T23:31:43Z

Very fun idea!

Visually stunning and very smooth to play.

The sound is kinda chill (at least on the normal mode, I ain't got the skills to try harder modes).

Amazing idea with the commands. I kinda wish there was a mode without the blocking spaceships, just to check how far could I go just inputting commands, it really feels smooth to play!

I just did not understand the lives. Sometimes they would replenish and I couldn't find a pattern for why did it happen.

Anyway, amazing game!delivery xtreme.PNG

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-02T19:53:19Z

@emily-ttg Thanks! I planned on making her twist her bones while talking to you, to justify the creaking sounds but... I got no time to do it at the end. It was my first time working with 3d models, so I tried to go as basic as possible.

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-03T01:14:02Z

@stalemeat Thanks! When she reaches you and talks, answering no leaves her "stunned", but she'll always try to latch unto you whenever she can! Answering yes should lead to game over

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-03T13:47:00Z

@liven Damn:/ I dunno what could have happened, you just freeze with the package upon starting the game?

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-03T16:34:13Z

@rjdrag @liven I just watched a streamer play it, and he had this stuck problem too! He fixed it by unplugging his game pad. It seems Unity gave priority to that input over the keyboard or something like that!

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-03T16:37:41Z

@aloya yeah I didn't sync the movement and the sound effects at the end, I also should have made the steps less louder. Watching streamers play almost makes me regret putting the footsteps.

@beebster-games glad you liked it! Some people thought the game forced you to die, maybe I should have made it clearer that you can escape after the last package

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-03T16:38:45Z

@rjdrag oh, I noticed the UI gets a bit wonky depending on the resolution... didn't have much time to work on that at the end. But it should not affect the gameplay

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-04T13:15:17Z

@ardorugus Oh, she just takes your soul if you say Yes. It's sort of like that Kuchisake-onna story, in which she asks you a question! A background story for every monster would have been nice but I spent so much time learning 3d stuff for this one that time was scarce at the end.

@m0zrat Did you check the game pad warning? For some reason Unity was messing with people who used game pad. Unplugging and restarting the game seemed to do the trick!

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-04T16:56:32Z

@koyaaaa Thanks a lot! I kinda enjoyed working on a horror game for a change, though I rarely play them due to my hate for loud jumpscares. Maybe I will work more into it!

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-04T20:48:22Z

@mateu Thanks for the feedback! Actually the idea of the branches was to trigger a rabid beast coming from one of the lots. But I had no time to add one that felt fitting to the game, so I decided to just keep the footsteps of a dog-like creature running towards you and then biting. But the footsteps felt too brief, I guess people barely notice them before the bite. And perhaps the footsteps are too loud...

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-04T21:32:42Z

@fruitflinger Thanks for playing! Yeah, I put the package 9 after the 14. There's a text showing up right after you deliver 14 saying the player mixed the packages, but I think it was too short and people couldn't read it. The idea was to force the player to look back and see the hitchhiker lady! The haunted house activates the last ghost, which pursues you and you have to run. But stepping on branches activates the rabid dog, stepping on a second branch pretty much guarantees you're dead.

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-06T17:04:36Z

@cheesepencil I wish I could:/ I battled at the last one hour and a half of submission to make a working web build but to no avail. The game simply didn't accept my inputs for some reason

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-07T01:16:05Z

@cheesepencil Managed to get a web version running. It was actually a problem with the input manager, but seems fixed now! I recommend playing on full screen.

Westwick Street by niz 2023-05-07T23:38:30Z

@fabula-rasa Glad you liked! Did you think the roar was too loud, though? It's my first try at horror and the only single objective I had was to not make a loud jumpscare as I hate them! Didn't help that my headphones died recently so I depend on the monitor speakers (nothing ever gets loud on it).

Dead Deliverance by JimmyMcGinger 2023-05-07T22:25:30Z

I like the characters and the environment very much in this one.

The monsters look good, the ghost-kirby thing with long legs was pretty creepy. I just wish there was more visual hints of them attacking and when the main character gets a hit. Sometimes a ghost would go into me and double hit as I tried to escape the hitbox. There's also this strange glitch when you aim right above yourself with the character just flickering left and right. The same happens when you're just under a ghost. No big deal though.

The soundtrack was good though I missed a few more sound effects for the combat.

Dashing was nice, but I'd rather have another button for going downward, sometimes I'd press it late and drop down by mistake. There could also be an indication for where the fire is. I got a lot of souls once but I couldn't for the life of me find my way back. I felt rapid clicking the attack button got the souls faster, dunno if that's the case or just me.

All in all nice game!

Pizzapocalypse by Grayce 2023-05-03T14:27:35Z

I like the smoothness of the movement and the chaos that follows the first deliveries!

Very pleasing art, I really liked the car. Sometimes when running fast and moving the camera the screen felt a bit juddery, but it didn't hinder the experience.

The bomb sounds gets a bit jarring after a while, because there are so so many all the time. It also would benefit lots from some music!

The gameplay was simple but worked well. Managed to make 20 deliveries until a bomb hit me. It feels a bit unfair due to the randomness of the bombs, maybe if there was a shadow showing where it was gonna fall it would feel fairer. Like in those cartoons that the shadow moves around the player and then BANG!

It was fun! Congratulations!

Pack It Up by thomaspixelart 2023-05-05T15:32:57Z

Damn! I managed to make a 13 min run and was feeling proud. But the game moved to the main menu as I was readying to get a screen...

Anyway, absolutely ADORABLE graphics. It is really pretty.

Song is very nice. And the sound effects are on point.

I just wish there was a way to go back and get some papers. I left 2 behind, right before the last checkpoint, that was mortifying.

It's an absolute masochist gem! Congratulations people!
