Fun idea, good execution. Would have liked a dodge, or some other ability besides the smash - lots of fun either way though!

Fun idea, good execution. Would have liked a dodge, or some other ability besides the smash - lots of fun either way though!
Amazing! I really like the idea and execution! cool retro feeling with great controls, I love it :D
Really juicy and fun ! I find it a little hard, I think it would be better with more possibilities to move. However, you did a great job !
Really fun :D I'm really bad at it or it is a bit hard :D Either way I really enjoyed it :-).
Hilarious idea
Survived for 59 seconds. My stratergy was to let them do the first attack. Then counter attack them. At the same time, trying not to loose my combo streak.
Very satisfying to play! The feedback on dropping the crate is particularly good. You delivered a solid retro brawler involving a forklift
This has got to be the most fun I have had with a forklift in a video game!
Very polished & inventive, as usual. Now I understand why you never mess with a forklift operator born in January etc. I think the constantly-depleting health is a little harsh, but I sort of got the hang of it eventually? Well, after several tries I wasn't able to last longer than a minute, but I can probably get there with enough practice. A very solid entry overall!
Cool game, though I am terrible at it! Great idea, I'm a fan of the style and love the music.
Wow that crate durability is some absolutely despicable game design, I love it. Each crate has five durability, and enemies have two health, so the crate breaks midway through killing someone, brutal. I wish the durability indicator was closer to the action though, it's sitting on the corner of the screen, but my attention is fully at the centre trying to avoid dying. But knowing the crate durability was critical to my survival, so I'd often lose track of it and get bitten. If the crate could change its texture when it's one hit away from breaking as a warning, I think that'd help me to get much further than I did. I love the feeling of absolutely smashing the zombies to pieces though, you really nail the action every time!
Such an awesome take on the theme! I love this. So satisfying. I too would've loved some indicator on the box itself that it's about to break? (As it's a pretty important piece). That's usually when I died, not knowing when my box was about to break, then I'm jamming on the attack button, and before I know it, it's gone and I'm dead.
I do like how difficult this is though. Awesome entry.
This was fun. Thats all :)
I lied... I loved the difficulty and the whole combo system. :)
And the art :)
this is the best game to play during meetings to keep your face serious like you are working really hard on something. You should use that as a selling pitch

love the art on this btw
There is nothing sexier than forklift certification. The sound is GUTTERAL and I love it. Pretty fun and simple little game!
As soon as i saw this game, i knew i had to try it. Very very original idea, good rock soundtrack and graphics. The 8-directional movement was a bit frustrating at first, but once i got the hang of it, it became fun and satisfying super fast. Very good replayability factor, definitively going to play this again from time to time in the future.
ㅤ
Okay so you DO get forklift certification when you play it!!!!!!
The game is pretty fun though, I love the concept! I kinda wish there was a bit more depth to it beyond getting close to the enemies and mashing space though.
My favorite element of BOTW, weapon durability! lol
Very cool style as always. Fun to play.
The camera settings seemed "off" considering the environment is so small, as in, we're zoomed into a small room, and the camera has to snap around violently to keep up. Maybe you were going to make a larger room?
The certification is a nice touch. Overall great job, Well done!
I love the concept haha i'm dying
fucking hilarious idea and smooth execution. Only gripe I have would maybe be a smoother camera? Otherwise I mean this is actually great one of the most satisfying game on here
Really clever idea and good realisation. This zombie crushing method is so enjoyable!
Really good, crushing the zombies feels so awesome, wish there was some more variation in enemies but still so juicy, artstyle is great as always, and the sounds are impactful!
RIP AND TEAR UNTIL IT IS FORKED. Really liking the concept and simplicity of the gameplay, good!!
Crazy satisfying gameplay.
Just great, plain and simple fun Doom: forklift edition!!
I suck at this game lol but its really really fun highscore is like 20ish
Great game, I have very few complaints, BUT I think the camera needs to be a bit smoother. Also it was quite challenging. Great game though.
Challenging and fun, I wanted to keep playing to beat my high score (58!). It was just the right level of challenging to be addicting.
One criticism is the camera, it was a little jerky playing in fullscreen.
Love the music! Nice touch having it change when you pick up the crate to start.
Great job!
from someone that IS Forklift Certified! I give this game a 5/5 loved it all the way through
Pretty challenging for me at least, it took a bit of time to get the grasp, but it was worth it. The hitboxes (pun intended) are a bit punishing, but this is what makes is fun as well. Maybe you could work on the camera, but thats a minor issue for sure. The fact that zombies don't come until you pick up the first crate is cool, because the player can read the tutorial. Maybe if you place the text a bit closer, the player can read it more easily as it is off screen now. Anyways, great game, congrats! :)
I am now a certified forklift driver. I did wish that the colors were a little less saturated.
Loads of fun smashing zombies, love the music, the combo meter, super crunchy. The pixel 3D was great, can't believe this was made in 48 hours. Great work!
Really good graphics and the sound fit in well set a great mood. Loved all the blood and there was a good amount of weight when hitting zombies incredibly satisfying. Tons of fun and easy to just keep playing / retrying.
I had so much fun smashing bad guys. The idea was truly magnificent. It also gave me a retro feel. Great job
A brutal whack-a-mole!
Seeing it was BadPiggy I knew I was in for a treat! The game looks really fun, at first I found the 3d and pixels weird but it blends well during the action.
The soundtrack felt a tad too low, but it was very fitting and the effects were juicy.
Loved that dropping the crate without enemies did not count toward breaking a crate. The life always depleting was a nice touch to balance too. Without it could have been too easy. Took me a while to understand the combo counting, I was so focused bashing the bad guys and sometimes my score would go down.
Anyway, really good entry! Wish there was an online leaderboard. forklift.PNG
Despite being a simple concept, this game was a lot of fun - I think this was a great exercise in how to take an action and make it feel satisfying. The crate-dropping felt very nice, especially when you had a mix of hurt and unhurt zombies, so you'd drop it a few times and just keep getting a bunch of kills racked up. Honestly, with a few other types of crate or zombie, I could see this being a very fun time killer! Nice work!
Very satisfying to play! I liked the idea of the health bar also doubling as a timer to force you to keep moving. I just wish there was a bit more enemy variety to keep things interesting. Otherwise I though the mood was great and the game felt polished, good job!
super fun, love the feedback when you crush enemies
It took me a few tries but I gradually got better at it with each play attempt. Good job.
I love infinite fun and challenging kind of jam games, great job!
The gameplay is simple but it has good feedbacks and you feel the need to start another round once you're dead. The fact that your crate has an uneven number of lives and you need to use two of them to kill zombies is also quite clever in terms of balancing. Really good job !
That game is really good :D, it's fun and has a lot of game juice, I didn't really notice anything annoying in it. Really solid :D
great game, liked how it was easy to just go again after dying. feel like the crate texture could have shown how many hits you had left with it or something, and the camera could have been a bit smoother when turning, but a really solid game
This is so funny! The animation of smooshing zombies with a giant crate is so good! It's really trick but I think that's the point, hard and fast game play! I like the hud elements and the warning sign with a forklift on it. I like the mixture of 3d and sprite graphics, you don't see that too often! Overall, good!
Great ideas! And say RIP to those little monsters, lol. Funny game.
Note to self: Shitpost games are popular.
The idea is kind of funny (in a dumb way :D)! The game itself is also alright, but it gets old quite fast. I wish there was more of a difficulty ramp up later on: once there are 5 or so monsters on the screen, it feels like you can simply keep going forever unless you make really *major* mistakes. All you need to figure out is that you can hit multiple monsters with the same attack, and that's hard to miss given the relatively small space of the arena. I died on purpose after some time because nothing new was happening! This is a shame, I think with more powerups, enemy variety, obstacles, etc this could be really fun to compete for high scores.
What a fun concept! easy to pickup but definitely challenging. Having more diversity would be cool! Congrats for your entry
Short and sweet! Although the constantly depleting health felt unnecessary, and it detracted from the threat of being hit.
Loved the smash visual
Fun game! The idea of fork lift yo-yoing a whole crate down onto some zombies I found absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible.
forklift smash. me like. thanks for making this game.
Really fun! Simple yet cool idea. I think improving the attack box will make it better, since sometimes it looked like I hit the enemy but nothing happened
I got 1 minute 20 and 53 zombies
fun game!
the camera movements are a little bit sudden and it's kind of jarring, but that's an easy fix
What a neat very polished and fun little game! End screen was perfect
Neat artstyle. Love the bold colors used here.
cool style!. fun to play. I can see this become a timekiller easily! had great fun playing.
Fun and addictive gameplay. I would have loved some different types of boxes with varying damage:hits ratios to spice it up a little more. Overall very fun game and clever theme
This was a really fun concept, and you made it quite fun to play.
The player controller felt great to move around and the main loop of picking up the boxes to use as smash attack ammo was satisfying! The game looks really good too.
Good job!
Really sweet game, action is smooth and the premise is pretty wicked. One complaint is that the camera follow is very disorienting, I think if the camera was fixed or smoothly followed it would be much better. SFX was good especially the smash sound, would be even better if they were higher fidelity than the bfxr/sfxr stuff, to fit better with the music.
Thanks for submitting your game to be played on the stream! If you wanted to watch my reaction again here’s the vod timestamped to your game https://youtu.be/0LdDwOAkfzc?t=8340
Very fun game! The way camera move when you switch direction is a bit weird for me. But besides from that, it's amazing!
Very fun and challenging game. Would be fun to compete for how long you can stay alive. Enjoyed the visuals, the squish and the djent. What an odd, unqiue idea, love it!
Super cool entry! Nothing beats the good old mindless button mashing violence in games. Lovely style as always, great work!
Very neat and fun little game for sure! Sometimes I would get stuck on a zombie (or something) and couldn't move, but other than that happening now and again, it's a highly amusing little time waster! Loved the frantic pace of it and the music was really fitting to it. Great stuff ^-^
Heya!
As usual, your distinct visual style makes your games really stand out in a jam, and I think it served you well. Likewise, it's clear you're in your wheelhouse with the balance and game feel of what you made, with simple gameplay that ramps up in difficulty toward a high score. I must admit, I felt that a few "mixing" issues kind of took me out of the game a bit. Namely the jerky camera, high saturation colours and high SFX volume compared to the music. The experience strayed towards jarring for me especially by my third attempt, though maybe this is exacerbated by playing in full-screen?
I enjoyed your take on the theme, and I think overall the game is fun and well-put together outside the nit-picks. Thanks for sharing!
Anytime I see a BadPiggy game in a jam I know I'll have fun playing it. That 2.5D pixel art works great as always and the core gameplay loop is highly satisfying, you have a way of making enemy and player actions impactful through screenshake, animations, and audio. Cool music btw.
Operating a forklift and turning it into a beat-em-up is a fun take on the theme, and I think you've delivered a really strong entry for this jam. Congrats!

What a random game haha, are there brains in the boxes? Why are the zombies chasing a forklift XD
Anyway, feels really satisfying to use the crushing thing and it's really fun, good job!
nice game
i like your style !!
Just played the post jam version... the improvements are great! I got a total score of 2240 on my first try (51 zombies). Where I think before I could only kill like 9 zombies. LOL
One of the best entry I tested so far Very enjoyable feedback on all the game actions. 2D/3D mix is really well executed. Congrats !
Man I feel good about my 1:40s longest run. That's tough but the challenge balance is pretty fun. The visuals are nice, the squish feels gooood and the after-action report is surprisingly well made and detailed. Very small with little content, but what's there is stylish and polished.
Sick vibes for sure! Love the aesthetic and mood of this overall, and it’s pretty satisfying. Might benefit from a dash-type move since it’s pretty easy to get swarmed and die. Great work!
My personal best... I'm not good at this.😒 forklift.png
This was a lot of fun to play, I especially like the way you implemented the controls/how you hit things, it was simple and intuitive, unlike what you'd find in some other game jam entries with a similar graphics style.
Nice work!
Seeing as though the jam is about to end, I thought I'd make a thank you message then

Ludum Dare 53 post jam gif.gif
- The camera movement is more smoother - There's a final score now - The crate has an indicator for when there's only one smash left with it - The crate gets a little covered in blood when you hit an enemy - The speed of the zombies is no longer bugged by framerate - Depending on your combo counter, there will be a point bonus added to your score with every kill. This point bonus is displayed next to the combo counter - Zombies bleed to indicate that they're about to die in the next hit - The game gets more harder the further you get now
@badpiggy Great work! I'll be right on that postjam.
Fun game, great entry! I played earlier on stream if you wanted to watch initial thoughts (timestamps in the description to jump to your game!) [youtube link](youtu.be/VWB4DGknN6k)
