LD51 — Every 10 seconds

Der Schließmuskel by OddballDave 2022-10-07T14:06:37Z

Really dug the whole vibe the graphics were great and the music fit in well (although it was a tiny bit quiet). Moving the arm around was fun, as was the physics.

Kind of wish there was some sort of indication of how I was going as I played (rather than at the end.. also the score at the end only showed up for a split second). Also 50 was a lot to get through would have preferred a smaller loop (maybe 20) but I'm impatient I prefer to do more smaller runs.

The Blood Tree by strong99 2022-10-04T06:40:28Z

Everything about it looks gorgeous from the menu to the UI elements and parallax backgrounds.

Found it pretty challenging at the start but I think I got the hang of it after a few attempts / once I figured out what I was doing. Dug the minimal UI but at times I felt like I couldn't really gauge my progress by just looking at what I've built.

Hiccups by cogcomp 2022-10-06T02:06:10Z

Gave me NES platformer vibes but felt really smooth to play. Attacking was great the combination of the sound effect plus so much fire shooting out made it really fun. The only thing is I enjoyed it so much I kept spamming attack and rarely hit the 10 second timeout.

Also liked the feedback of being hit by enemies.

The music never got boring and there were so many levels and enemy types this easily kept me engaged right to the end.

Doing it all in C++ and SDL's incredibly impressive.

Midnight Ninja by shared 2022-10-10T10:25:44Z

Huge fan of FPS's with 2d / sprite graphics so I thought this looked great. Loved the idea it was really fun cutting up enemies.

Got stuck on the movement a bit at the start but got the hang of it. Would have loved some music.

Lots of fun I'd definitely play more if there were more levels :)

Factory Manager Hero by mstrp 2022-10-06T02:25:04Z

Looks great and the theme (like the flavour / story of the game) might have been too good. I was kind of stressed out at first trying to build those trucks, but once I got in a groove and noticed the messages from middle management (and the growing pool of middle managers) it hit a bit too close to home and made me depressed. But in a good way it's funny and too real.

I agree with Wizcas would have loved some music and sound effects. Also the i and l boxes looked kind of similar I pressed the wrong key at least a few times.

Escape the.. something by ThaProfesional 2022-10-03T11:09:24Z

@mdotedot thanks for playing :smile:

Yeah - if I had more time I would have liked to have slowly introduced more interesting terrain as time went on.. or paired strange terrain on one side with simple on the other..

Getting the background working cost me a lot of time so thanks for appreciating it.

@nyxkn thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback :)

Yeah if I keep working on it I'd want to play around with some options and see what feels right. I was thinking of showing an outline of the new terrain but that might get too confusing visually. Freezing time might be a better idea.

Escape the.. something by ThaProfesional 2022-10-06T01:51:31Z

@cogcomp thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback.

That'd be a pretty easy change to make.. and I accidentally drew the dude too small then had to scale him up in the engine leaving him looking ever so slightly fuzzy. So making him a bit smaller (again) and more crisp would be nice.

Escape the.. something by ThaProfesional 2022-10-06T06:57:31Z

@heyguystoreyhere and @wheffle thanks for playing :)

@wheffle yeah I thought the same thing while play testing some times but not others. All the code does is flip the y scale of each terrain (the top and bottom) every 10 second.. I double checked and the player doesn't listen to the timer event.. so altering player position would be an impressive bug hopefully I didn't manage to hide it somewhere but it's possible..

If the player's mid-terrain during a change it'll definitely mess things around maybe I should try code it so they're always pushed up so they'll land on platforms.

Escape the.. something by ThaProfesional 2022-10-06T07:07:25Z

Thanks for playing @boodbarbak

I'm a big fan of hand-drawn art (..and it's all I know how to do) so thanks for appreciating it.

Yeah in hindsight I should have allotted a bit more time for terrain design and **any** amount of time for play testing I completely forgot that's something I was meant to do

@quinn-patrick thanks for playing and thanks for the kind words :)

@noeloskar thanks for playing :D Having the gravity change was another idea I had floating around to the point I did the art (an indicator) and sound effects for it just ran out of time to chuck it in and test it.

@real-human-1000 thanks for playing and thanks for appreciating the parallax I took up way too much time getting it to work. Probably should have spent the time on balance but at least it looks pretty

Destroy Blocks by mdotedot 2022-10-03T11:40:37Z

I really like puzzles so I had a ton of fun playing this. Dug the graphics and really dug the sound effects - would have liked a few more (for stuff like clearing lines). Same with the music it'd be cool if the loop went for a bit longer / it was a bit more hashed out.

Stellar Sauce by Wheffle 2022-10-06T03:01:06Z

Good graphics, **amazing** music, really good sound effects and cool particle effects. The way it all came together made me really enjoy shooting the bad dudes there was great feedback. Part of it was how fast the gun fired that was great.

I did spend most of the game shooting them off screen which probably wasn't how I was meant to play it, but the death sound effects meant it was still fun (please don't judge me).

Liked how creative the ending was but kind of felt personally attacked come on ketchup and mayo living in harmony should be the real winner. Great story and humour.

The First Fire by scottgoldsmith 2022-10-04T08:11:11Z

Really cool idea loved the graphics, the UI (little dots) and the feel - it was kind of tense having that tiny pixelated wolf hungrily stare at me for so long. Liked the lack of music at night added to the mood. Some sort of tune during the day might have been good though.

They hate each other ! by Kaimon 2022-10-04T07:30:05Z

Liked the graphics and really liked the "DVD logo bouncing around the screen" feel of the cats and dogs. Especially once a bunch end up in each enclosure. Also I don't know why but I had fun dragging them around maybe that says something about me...

As other people said the hit-boxes felt a tiny bit off - but I got used to them. Would have liked a counter or something on each enclosure so I could tell how I was going.

Space Buggers by Minipeps 2022-10-05T06:50:23Z

Had a lot of fun playing this got decked out around wave 70 then just let it go for a while. Took a few false starts to figure out but I enjoyed the trial and error. I **really** liked the way the bugs got pushed out of the way when I placed walls.

Simple graphics but they do the job I could easily tell what everything was. Liked the sound effects but things got kind of loud once the screen was covered in turrets.

10 Seconds To Annoyance by zimny11 2022-10-05T03:08:39Z

Everything about it seemed polished / like it was working as intended. Difficulty ramped up really well and I never felt like the game was **too** unfair (it was just the right amount of unfair). Liked the graphics and sound the mute button was as great as it was terrible.

As much as I enjoyed the whole thing (I played through to the end and enjoyed every minute in a frustrated kind of way) maybe my favorite part was the intro screen..

Orzeł by NoelOskar 2022-10-05T08:34:33Z

Had a lot of run playing through this there was enough character to get me hooked thought the difficulty ramped up well as did the additions of extra mechanics. Music was good graphics were great (you'll always win me over with parallax backgrounds). On that note the menu looked beautiful.

It All Comes Crashing Down by Quinn_Patrick 2022-10-07T02:30:22Z

Well that was pretty amazing what a cool idea and a great execution. Loved the music and the graphics - they work really well together to make a mood. Really appreciated the small animations around the place they added a lot of character.

Always a fan of physics in games and this was no exception it felt like everything had the right balance between acting how I expected but also going pear shaped at the right (wrong) time. On that note the sabotages all felt really well balanced just annoying enough to wreck my plans but I never really upsetting or too troll-y.

I don't think I was very good at it kept building up to 40m then falling back down to 20m.

Also I'm kind of (very) impatient and wish I could have sped the blocks up while falling by holding down or something.

J-Menuing by nyxkn 2022-10-05T02:36:54Z

Got it's hooks into me ended up playing for a while. Felt smooth to play / easy to control and the actions felt like they had weight. Liked the simple graphics they served the game really well and the sound was great I think it's a large part of why I was stuck playing for so long.

The only thing that bugged me (which Kuboxxxxx already mentioned) is it felt kind of unfair when the game changed enemy order mid attack.

Tower of Time 2 by CodeRaurus 2022-10-03T10:25:18Z

Looks and sounds great (especially the jump sound), and controls really well. The levels were arranged well there was enough variation and they were the right amount of challenging - a few of them took me a bunch of tries to get through.

Crazy Beat Switcher by StoicKekis 2022-10-04T08:29:56Z

What a jam really good into a good groove after a while then suddenly the difficulty spiked and I fell out of it. The changing styles were cool kept it feeling fresh.

Acid Rain by osh.studio 2022-10-03T11:25:46Z

Amazing artwork, cool sound (music and effects), and the exact right amount of story - made a really cool vibe. Difficulty ramped up perfectly as it went along.

RADARE by Cogent.Invalid 2022-10-03T10:54:28Z

Really cool color scheme (reminds me of Mad World) and great music. The death sound effect was really final.. which works really well. Controls are smooth, it was easy to figure out what to do but difficult to keep track of both squares (in a good way). Only problem I had was I wasn't sure how I was scoring - I felt like I ran into a lot of circles but didn't end up with that many points.

Oh and the web build worked perfectly

Robot by Shuimen 2022-10-06T08:30:48Z

Cool idea and I liked the execution. Played for a while. I especially enjoyed having to take risks to get more actions it kept things tense.

Graphics did the job and I thought the camera moving up and down to highlight actions or the field was cool.

Would have loved some sound :)

Dieztion by milq 2022-10-04T08:51:54Z

I'm a big fan of puzzle games and really enjoyed this one. Eight levels is really impressive for the time frame - especially since they seemed to flow on from each other so well increasing in difficulty just the right amount. Really cool look and feel and liked the idea.

Agree with the other commenters waiting the 10 seconds could feel like a slog - especially after figuring out how to do a puzzle. At least the music was chill so it was easy to hang around waiting.

Happy Minesweeper by torte478 2022-10-07T13:44:45Z

Really cool idea loved how messed up it was, loved how the 10 second theme was incorporated and loved all the things I could do aside from the "main game" like burying or recruiting.

I feel like the game was trying to teach me a lesson without ramming it down my throat (which I also loved).. and if I hadn't played it so late at night I might have got kind of reflective and learned something / come to some sort of conclusion.

Dug the sound the music and sound effects fit in well.

Only quality of life thing I missed was that part in minesweeper where clicking an empty square reveals the other empty squares around it - because I'm lazy.

My 1st Game: Water Ball Challenge 10S by Thanks4AllTheFish 2022-10-05T08:15:50Z

Great music and cool retro style graphics. Had a lot of fun I think it's 'cause the water balls fire so quickly watching those things bounce around / pile up / go nuts was awesome. On that note I'm glad there weren't any "water hitting stuff" sound effects. Block breaking sound effects would have been cool though..

More levels would have been great definitely would have kept playing.

Stay the Night by StesProject 2022-10-03T10:12:02Z

Really cool idea! I kept trying to maximize my time (hit about 50 seconds at best) but it made me realise how bad I am at counting (apparently). Dug the music, the color palette and the lighting it's a real mood. Some animation could have really added to it.. and I was thinking it'd be cool to have stuff near the top of the screen but I like the use of negative space so ignore that..

Black Zen White by BoOdbarbak 2022-10-06T07:23:00Z

I love puzzle games and thought this was great. Heaps of levels (especially for 48 hours) with a nice progression. Got just difficult enough without feeling unfair really well designed. Level 5 was my favourite.

Graphics were good and the controls were smooth. Along with the sound effects and the physics when pushing sleepy there was a nice feel to it.

Only thing I missed was music.. but not too much the quiet was kind of relaxing.

You're going up [whether you like it or not!] by Gruff 2022-10-07T14:26:29Z

Cool concept and really cool music. Had fun but it took me a while to figure out what I was doing.. had to read the comments.

Liked the controls appreciated that the character moved kind of slow - but there was a speed power up. Power up was cool I liked how it kind-of-but-not-really blended into the level and great effect when picking it up.

Also I'm not sure if it was intentional but the buttons labelled "button" were great.

Misinformation: Pandemic by hotPath 2022-10-06T07:39:24Z

Dug the look and feel and sound really embodied the gameboy. The "NPCs changing look" animation was especially cool.

Game flavour gave me a good feeling of paranoia while I was playing.

One thing took me a while to figure out is in the tutorial is says to press "B" to toggle mask but the actual button was "x".

ROSWELL AREA ███████ WASTE DISPOSAL, INC. by Real_Human_1000 2022-10-07T02:52:34Z

Flavour was great (really cool intro well designed and written) and I liked the graphics. Not normally the style of game I play but I had a lot of fun felt like a mix of tower defence and "The Incredible Machine" (oh no my age is showing). Ended up re-trying a bunch of times and played for a while.

Took a little while to get used to the controls. Had the same problem as scottgoldsmith when placing things. That said I liked the layout of the UI and thought it was pretty intuitive. I really liked that while placing items everything kept moving and I couldn't click boxes. It created a nice sense of urgency and made me really think about what I needed to do.

Sound would have been cool but I was engaged enough without it.

Jumprope by djd123456 2022-10-04T06:17:02Z

Liked the look (cool UI / theme / graphics) and the sound effects. Felt like a bit of music would go a long way.

Had fun playing for a while but wished it had an ending.

One thing I **really** liked was I could jump during the intro / initial countdown and start off with a negative score. I appreciated the game punishing me for being impatient no clue why I just did

LD53 — Delivery

Mission: Programmable by Jezzamon 2023-05-17T12:05:52Z

On the one hand the graphics and sound are great. It looks really nice, love the backgrounds, the sound effects blend in to actions perfectly, and the music is really cool and gives everything a great mood. Also I dug the idea and the story had a lot of character.

On the other hand you tricked me into doing my job out of hours.

The War is Over by M2tias 2023-05-01T13:21:50Z

Had a lot of fun playing through this reminded me of the old dos platformers. Dug the graphics, music was great, and the effects when firing the gun made it feel pretty weighty and cool.

Only feedback I have is I would have liked some feedback when shots connected with enemies - maybe a sound or something I'm not sure. Some of them took multiple hits so at times I worried I wasn't achieving anything until they disappeared.

Just a cog in the machine? by Erkberg 2023-05-08T12:05:51Z

This whole thing felt like my jam.

Great game really cool atmosphere - music and lighting really set the mood. I'm a sucker for anything neon-drenched. Loved the story. I really like exploring, and there was great variety in the game play (got to jam out a few times that was nice).

Made me feel kind of mean until I got to the end.

The Dark Forest and a Delivery Through Distant Lands and Geometric Oddities by Tygrak 2023-05-17T11:28:47Z

Amazing visuals with music that compliments them perfectly. Dug the story and the whole mood had a great time. Helped that I felt like I'd taken a bunch of drugs.

One thing I would have liked was a slightly faster movement speed.

de-Livery by ThePelranthean 2023-05-09T12:51:48Z

Really cool idea, great graphics, loved the board games feel, and had a lot of fun taking over buildings.

Only feedback I have is I didn't really have a good idea of where my opponent was or what they were taking over, so I never really felt like there was a threat. They were so far away.

Infant Interceptor by voidraizer 2023-05-06T13:36:56Z

Really cool graphics I really liked how buildings disappeared (leaving their foundations) when I drove behind them.

Liked the scoring system and enjoyed trying to work out the best path to get around.

Music and sound effects were phenomenal. Realised there was a siren after my first play-through so did another run just to listed to it as I drove around.

Driving felt a tiny bit stiff - and so did crashing into stuff. I liked that it added to the challenge but with a bit of tuning I think it could be really slick.

Oh and I'm really happy someone made a "delivering babies" themed game. I know there's probably more but I haven't found them yet.

Early Morning Tofu Delivery by Yngvarr 2023-05-17T10:44:20Z

Had a ton of fun playing this - banger music and great sound effects. Graphics were really good and the physics + controls made things feel weighty. Driving felt kind of real but kind of video-gamey it was a good balance. Wish there was drifting. Appreciate the feel of the car when it bounces off stuff.

Cerberus by Veralos 2023-05-02T12:24:23Z

Cool graphics and suitably crunchy sound effects. Really liked that everything felt like it had weight - especially when I'd get hit and the souls I'd collected were thrown all over the place. Also liked having to frantically run around and pick up souls I'd lost.

Cool enemy variety it was fun having to tackle different groupings.

Would have loved some music.

Don't read all about it! by ThaProfesional 2023-05-02T04:20:03Z

@ShatteredMindofBob I don't think so - ran out of time to refine the level should have given the delivery kid more lead in space / time.

Thanks and thanks for playing :)

Don't read all about it! by ThaProfesional 2023-05-03T03:02:36Z

@sdelay thanks :) It's less intended and more I ran out of time to refine the level - I think I should have placed the dog more centrally and given the delivery kid more lead in time.

@jakobthequizguy thanks heaps - I feel like the extra animations help make the movement feel significantly more responsive and they don't take too much extra time to draw and animate. I wrote the code to allow for more levels and I created more assets but ran out of time to actually make the levels.

@ardorugus thanks for playing and that's a great idea - if I'd thought of it during dev. I would have chucked it in for sure.

@zefphyer thanks and thanks for playing. I chucked the bushes in last minute and didn't have time to make sure both characters can move past them smoothly I think I needed to tweak the collision response a bit. Didn't run into the dog dying bug but I'm guessing there's a race condition I missed thanks for letting me know.

Don't read all about it! by ThaProfesional 2023-05-06T09:20:14Z

@purpledartfrog nah it's not intentional it *should* be winnable. Getting run over or the kid making it to the end of the level is a loss, stopping the kid early's a win.

Number of papers delivered was meant to be a fun scoring thing.

I definitely didn't explain it well - was hoping to do it through level design but ran out of time. I think putting in more cues would have been a good idea.

Thanks so much for playing really appreciate it and appreciate the feedback :)

@asilvers thanks for playing :) Yeah I needed a bit more time to work on level design to try make it more intuitive. The plan was multiple delivery kids after the first level but never got there. I didn't think of having the one level with a "keep playing as long as you stay alive" thing going on I think that's a great idea.

@harmadillo thanks heaps and thanks for playing :) Yeah I spent my last couple of hours making it prettier rather than fixing the gameplay..

@lcstark thanks so much for playing, the nice words and the feedback :) Also thanks heaps for letting me know the bugs I think I know the cause of each but I feel like it might be in bad faith to fix them now as they aren't game breaking. If I keep working on this I'll make sure I fix them before tackling anything else. Even if I don't they're good lessons for next time.

@cavedens thanks and thanks for playing. I would have liked more time to make more level - still need to keep working on my time allocation / where I focus.

@yngvarr thanks for playing, the nice words, and especially for chucking up the play through. First time I've really watched someone playing one of my games found it weird but really appreciate it :D

Dig the idea of having the paperboy drop papers if the dog threatens him at the right time. I'll add it to the wish list of mechanics to try out if I keep working on the game.

Express Delivery by oller125 2023-05-09T12:29:12Z

Cool game. Great sound effects, liked the graphics, thought the drone was pretty nice to control, and it was easy to pick up and start playing.

Agree with the other commenters it's a bit difficult (for the reasons they mention also I found the eagle difficult to escape when delivering to the left hand side of the map).

That said I couldn't stop playing because the music was so good. Every time I died I'd restart straight away and try stay alive longer so I could hear more of the song. In the end I sat around on the game over screen for a while jamming out.

Crystal Courier by Likirus 2023-05-04T12:29:33Z

Had a lot of fun playing around with the upgrades seeing what worked. Was too chill at the start took me ages to realise there was an asteroid but maybe that's my poor reading compregension. Made it off eventually. In the end it was no upgrades just collected and escaped.

Graphics and sound were good - really liked the way the car controlled.

FAT BOBS PIZZA DELIVERY! by Hengen 2023-05-18T11:43:55Z

Cool graphics, good sound effects, and really nice music. Whole thing felt incredibly chill offset by the fact it was so easy to go INCREDIBLY fast and crash constantly. Took me a while to get in a good groove but once I did was really relaxing driving around collecting.

Neural Rot by Angela He 2023-05-10T11:49:45Z

Great graphics and phenomenal music along with an amazing world create the coolest atmosphere.

Really dug the difficult controls they added a lot of flair and while challenging to get used to they were also rewarding to get on top of. Really appreciated the slower moving backwards to help with aiming. Reloading mini-game was great - easy until there was a bit of pressure then just stressful enough.

Agree with a few other commenters the weapon selection was difficult to decipher - I found it easier to just look at the character to see what they were using.

I'd definitely love to keep playing / see where the story goes.

The Nearsighted Mailman by ick 2023-05-17T12:16:59Z

This was really cool and I couldn't stop laughing. Also couldn't stop playing.. and couldn't stop going as fast as possible.

I'm old enough to remember when driving games looked like this. You nailed the feel, graphics (aside from the short-sightedness) and sound perfectly. Especially loved the driving and explosions effects.

Feel like maybe this would be way better or way worse if I had a few beers before trying it out again.

Skate or Die by Don Fouts 2023-05-18T11:26:38Z

Really cool to see a skating game and cool play on the turn of phrase. Great graphics loved the animation. Cool sound effects but kind of missed music. Found it pretty difficult but appreciated the middle finger work out mashing w like crazy.

Postman Battle by Prostone 2023-05-03T11:20:51Z

Really cool graphics loved the 2D but really 3D feel. Loved the difficulty of moving around with randomised controls forced me to keep having to think which was uncomfortable in a good way.

Sunshine Trial by ardorugus 2023-05-04T13:04:30Z

I've have no idea what was going on but it looked and sounded pretty. Found it engaging and enjoyed moving through the mazes.

Drone Diner Dash by Lex 2023-05-02T12:50:59Z

Liked the concept and thought the physics was great - appropriately wonky without feeling too unfair. Took me a while to get used to it.

I felt kind of ripped off when I didn't get any points for busing tables - but I liked that it added flavour.

Would have loved some tunes.

One thing that got me a few times (maybe three..) is I got wedged in between the bottom right table and the wall and couldn't fly out - the drone couldn't straighten up and kept flying into the wall. Had to restart.

Delivery Frenzy! by August1413 2023-05-09T13:12:46Z

Lots of fun and very re-playable. Graphics and sound effects were cool really arcade-y made me think of spy hunter for some reason.

Would have liked music but the purr of the engine filled the air nicely.

Ran it on Arch linux no problems (I use arch btw).

City Transport Ordeal by LCStark 2023-05-06T13:17:25Z

Cool game gave me GTA vibes with some simple graphics but in a good way - it was easy to distinguish everything including the map, package locations and drop off points.

Missed music and sound effects but that didn't really get in the way of me having a great time with it for a while.

Loved how drift-y driving around felt while still feeling like I was in control.

One thing I think would have helped add to the driving feel was if the walls weren't so sticky when I hit them on a slight angle - would have liked it if the car slid more and corrected itself to the wall direction.

Contraband Crackdown by PurpledArtFrog 2023-05-06T13:01:13Z

Really cool game I had too much fun beating groups of prisoners in little piles all over the arena. Liked the graphics and sound effects. Drones were a really nice touch.

Only thing I would have liked that wasn't there was an attack animation - could have made the beatings feel way more meaty.

Also the music was an absolute banger I wish it was looping in the background the whole time. Then again I loved that I could press 'm' and jam out for a little while whenever I felt like it.

Silence is just a pipe dream by Antsa 2023-05-07T13:33:51Z

Amazing graphics and really cool music. Create a real mood. Good story well told had a lot of fun playing :)

Cozy Courier Co. by JustinSix 2023-05-17T11:00:29Z

Great graphics and amazing atmosphere. Got roped in and found it exceedingly creepy. Scared me a couple of times.

Really liked the mechanics which popped up later was a ton of fun figuring out what was going on then getting to the end :)

Lo-Fi Pizza Delivery Guy During Armageddon Trying To Earn $10000 To Buy A Car by deniskazantsev 2023-05-08T10:28:05Z

Really cool idea / execution. Easy to figure out. Loved the fast paced / frantic puzzle game feel. Found it too easy to "just play one more game" over and over.

Maybe it was because the music's an absolute banger.

Graphics were good it and the sound effects gave solid feedback while making the apocalypse feel appropriately chunky.

Daily-very by Fersyvanderzee 2023-05-01T13:55:26Z

Dug the graphics and the music - set a cool mood. Truck sound effect fit in really well.

Found it pretty relaxing at the start but after a while wished the truck moved quicker.

TOWER CLIMB by JakobTheQuizGuy 2023-05-03T10:55:07Z

Incredibly polished - loved the artwork especially the flavour on the levels and the way the character jiggled. Really good level progression. Took me a while to get the hang of dashing into enemies multiple times but really satisfying once I got there.

Dark Storker by Pawciu 2023-05-18T11:52:11Z

Love the hand-drawn graphics and the voice acting. Also love how close in the camera is it makes things feel so more more.. personal.

Cool controls and mechanics to move around.

And when the music kicks in it's such a MOOD - really amazing.

Only thing I would have liked was if the game made me run the delivery at the end so I could feel terrible the entire time I was doing it.

42 blocks in 7 and one-half minutes by Sashbros 2023-05-09T13:00:45Z

Great graphics (spoderman looks great), use of sound clips, arcade-y music, and physics. Swinging around was really fun. Oh and also I love parallax backgrounds they add so much depth really cool to see 'em.

Died a few times because I wasn't sure what was coming next and got myself into a bad position. Appreciated that it re-spawned me at the last pizza place rather than sending me back to the beginning.

Xerpa Delivery by MaximeG 2023-05-04T13:38:43Z

Really impressive for being built in a weekend. Liked the graphics the shader's a nice touch. Really liked the mechanic of placing items to use - felt very fluid and the way they placed around the truck felt fluid.

Found the first level pretty challenging but do-able. The next two got a bit too difficult for me. Still had a lot of fun trying different things.

Dingsi by maxi1324 2023-05-04T13:22:08Z

Whole thing was a complete mood. Loved the graphics and the music. Controlled well. There was even variety in the game play. I was amazed when the NPC had a button press animation. Incredibly impressive for 48 hours.

Camera took me a while to get used to as the robot but that was fine after a bit.

Thing that would have made it perfect is sound effects for the various actions.

DE/LIVER by StormCat 2023-05-11T10:27:36Z

Loved the mixed media format was really cool - haven't really seen anything else like it. The mix of story and game play enhanced both.

Dug the graphics and the sound really added to the mood.

Enjoyed the mini-games. Found the non-stealth ones a bit easy, and the stealth one kind of difficult but I'm bad at stealth. Got through to the end eventually :)

Robin Hood Christmas by cavedens 2023-05-08T10:02:07Z

Cool game liked the graphics as well as the music. Always impressed by 3D and the lighting was used incredibly well. Sound effects were great they fit in perfectly.

Found it chill and kind of stressful (in a good way) at the same time. It was pretty challenging but I'm not very good at stealth games. From the ones I have played this seemed well balanced..

Didn't really mind that the guards could see through walls because I accidentally slipped through the walls to get away from them a few times which I enjoyed.

Forklift-em-up by BadPiggy 2023-05-03T11:07:45Z

Really good graphics and the sound fit in well set a great mood. Loved all the blood and there was a good amount of weight when hitting zombies incredibly satisfying. Tons of fun and easy to just keep playing / retrying.

Drone Delivery Service by jclardy 2023-05-03T10:33:26Z

Great graphics and really smooth controls. Thought the difficulty was perfect wasn't too hard to get through but died a few times and every one felt like it was my fault - it never felt like the game was unfair.

Bumbol by MiniBetrayal 2023-05-05T14:06:04Z

Really chill. Dug the graphics and feel like it simulated being a bee incredibly well. The way it swarmed around stuff to collect pollen looked really cool. Progression was cool but I was really bad at it and had trouble getting too far. Missed music and sound effects but running out of time's understandable.

Sorted by Harmadillo 2023-05-07T10:09:33Z

Really chill dug how much was going on but how much help was given to figure it all out. Music was good and there was a lot of variety in the post to keep me engaged for a while.

Unfortunately I took too long to figure out postcards have the address on the back, so I palmed a LOT of them off to the dead letter office. But that ones on me.

Once I stopped playing I realised you basically tricked me into doing a job for a while and I didn't notice. So great work :D

Don't Stranding by nekowei 2023-05-03T11:51:48Z

The bright graphics and kind of relaxed but up beat music were really chill. Enjoyed floating around at the start as well as figuring out what I was meant to be doing as things went on.

Logistical Nightmare by Roboolet 2023-05-08T10:15:18Z

Great graphics, solid sound effects (it sounded like I was really dropping boxes) and a cool atmosphere.

Really enjoyed throwing the boxes around the physics felt just right. Also the truck absolutely speeding in and out of the loading bay was cool to watch.

This is the second game I've played for the Dare which has tricked me into doing a job for a little while - and I didn't realise it until afterwards so I was really engaged while playing.

I'm not sure if I would have liked music or not.. I kind of liked the chill lonely atmosphere loading boxes in a quiet room.

Dangerous Delivery by Shuimen 2023-05-18T11:02:01Z

Really cool idea and good execution. Took me a little bit to figure out what was going on but once I did I had a great time. Enjoyed balancing out my actions and testing stuff out.

Had a lot of fun the game play felt pretty fast paced also kind of tense. Just challenging enough.

Would have loved sound.

Swiftly And With Style by 3ggplant 2023-05-10T12:01:58Z

Great graphics (always impressed by 3D and it looked great), solid controls, loved throwing boxes, and the sound effects really added to the feel of the game. It all came together to make the movement feel great.

Only thing I missed was music. Also would have been cool if the boxes bounced around for even longer before disappearing.

Oliver the Bartender by sdelay 2023-05-03T11:38:16Z

Really cool graphics looks beautiful. Great sound - it fit in really well. Whole thing was really chill.

Tons of content great work getting it all in within the time frame. Really like the progression.

Only sticking point for me was the controls took a bit of time to get used to - but after a few minutes I got a feel for them it was all good.

Click to Deliver by Noobman64 2023-05-10T10:43:31Z

Had a lot of fun playing this - went through it a couple of times. Great concept / idea / variation on the theme and good graphics.

Missed sound but understand stuff needs to be cut 'cause of time.

Loved the "Baby Shower" button. Have no idea why the "Next Plague" button was clickable or what it did but I kept getting the urge to click it.

Beep Beep by Ty1rl 2023-05-17T11:10:19Z

This was so much fun to play. The graphics were great - loved the shadow). The controls felt really good / responsive. The car sound was phenomenal I could drive around listening to it for ages.

Loved the physics based activities scattered around the place. Even though I wanted to do more deliveries I couldn't help chasing balls / scattering boxes or taking a jump instead. Really hurt my scores. No regrets.

First Delivery by BrahGold 2023-05-18T11:15:59Z

Cool graphics and really smooooth gameplay. Had a lot of fun flying around especially after the last delivery when I could just go nuts and float around.

Loved the helper raven and the messages - I think this is the first game where I've really felt appreciated for making a delivery.

Missed sound, and felt like reseting after landing was kind of slow - but really liked the take off mechanics.

Great work :)

Deliveride by kierogi 2023-05-01T13:32:25Z

Games so chill what a vibe - the beautiful backgrounds, relaxing music and float-y controls all work together so well. Then every time I eat it I get sent back to the start and my stress levels jump right up.

Genius.

Catnip Caper by ShatteredMindofBob 2023-05-02T04:27:23Z

Had fun playing - got to the end. Liked the sound effects (although I kind of wished for a walking sound), movement was smooth and the whole thing just felt chill which I appreciated a lot. Pretty cool tone / take on the theme.

Took a few tries for me to figure out how far the pigs could see when trying to evade them - not sure how but it would have been cool to have some sort of indicator.

Slalom Pizza Delivery Service by SpeakWithPlants 2023-05-10T12:16:28Z

Really cool game loved the graphics and the feel of sliding down the slope. Really liked that it was easy to go incredibly fast but also a terrible idea. Luckily drifting was also fun.

Would have loved some sound.

Also if I right clicked to deliver pizzas while I was holding left click it wouldn't work. I had to let go of the left click. Not sure if it's intentional or something's gone weird on my end but it made it more challenging.

Entrega by dysleixc 2023-05-04T13:51:06Z

The music's so good, the graphics so colourful and the sound effects add so much texture I just want to keep playing. Everything feels so juicy.

Really love the way the camera slides around.

Took a little bit to click but when it did it was great.

Lil' Death by ASilvers 2023-05-05T14:14:10Z

I was worried it'd be kind of intense when I saw how dark it was, but it was pretty relaxed. The music and the main character sound effects gave it a really nice vibe, and I had a fun time running around collecting souls.

Appreciated that it'd give me a hint when I was taking too long. But along the same line kind of wish there was more variety in the terrain / some sort of landmark I could use to align myself with.

Last Stand Delivery by Sheng Mai 2023-05-07T13:17:23Z

Love a good puzzle game. Great graphics, music settled in really well, great progression and a lot of levels. Felt really relaxed but also challenging at the same time enjoyed figuring out each puzzle then optimizing steps.

Ricardo's Busy Day by Floke 2023-05-02T09:37:23Z

Dug the music and it looks really slick. Had fun playing found it and challenging as it sped up / got towards the end.

One thing I would have loved was audio queues when picking up or delivering food.

Nightmaremaid by vydra 2023-05-07T13:51:41Z

Really cool game. Really liked the flavour text, graphics / visual style and the sound - it all came together to make an incredibly creepy experience that got under my skin and stayed there.

Had some trouble figuring out where I was going but I think that kind of added to the charm.

Delivered the package a few times (well.. five) but wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing or if there's an ending.

Still had a great time :)

soul sender by aushijo 2023-05-10T10:58:35Z

Nice graphics and music set a real mood. Loved the colour pallete.

The car was so fun to zip around. That said movement felt a bit odd.. the car was so fast and turning circle so wide. I kind of wanted a smaller turning circle but also liked the challenge from a larger one.

One thing that I think would have really stepped it up is sound effects.

All that said had a great time whenever I finished a round just wanted to jump back in and keep driving great work :)

Impatience Coffee Roasters by jacobwinters 2023-05-06T13:51:48Z

Graphics are really cool I like how simple they look - it's nice and clean everything's really easy to understand and process. The way the coffee cups tip while the drones fly around is great.

I had a ton of fun but my micro game's incredibly weak so I was kind of stressed the entire time but in a good way. Couples great with the graphics - it's so easy to see what's going on but there were so many deliveries to process. All comes together in a great way.

Appreciated the law in the post and especially appreciated the messages during the game.

Not really sure what pushed end-game - I'm guessing my rating dropping too low. Would have liked more indication about that. Also would have loved some music / sound.

Delivery! NYC by Obe Dot 2023-05-04T12:14:24Z

Always impressed by 3D submissions - it looked really cool. Music was amazing, controls were pretty fun and the idea was great. Really good work. Had a lot of fun played through a few times.

Acid Raft by TyeGameDev 2023-05-05T04:38:17Z

Really cool sound effects and graphics. Music fit in well. Controls felt good and the shooting was appropriately weighty. Enjoyed having to balance everything - shooting, dodging, collecting. It was difficult but in a good way.

Only thing I felt was missing (which Emily-TTG already mentioned) was more feedback when getting his by enemies.

Great work :)

Famous Delivery Man by justslavic 2023-05-06T14:03:59Z

Cool graphics, decently challenging, and a great score board. Had a lot of fun cruising along getting into the groove of jumping over small rocks.

Felt pretty smooth. Only thing that took me out of it was the small delay "spawning back in" any time I hit a rock and got pushed up. Kind of wish it was quicker to get back into the action each time.

Also would have loved some music or sound effects.

Deli's Whale Delivery by theguy 2023-05-03T03:16:03Z

Really cool idea, art and sound the music and effects felt really polished. Found it difficult but in a good way I didn't realise how much I randomly flail around in games until I had to stop the whale throwing up.

Loading packages onto the whale was a nice touch.

One thing I would have liked was a graphic or animation of the whale vomiting would have added some more flavour to the continue screen.

Pixel Stranding by campalans 2023-05-02T07:37:55Z

Cool graphics and level design - enjoyed that I needed to use more abilities as it kept going. Had a lot of fun playing. Really liked the difficult ramp up.

One thing I would have liked (especially in the last level) was for the dash to me tied to how long I held the button down. Like tapping space does a quick dash but holding it down does a longer one. Would have saved me a few deaths :)

Eggs Delivery by yoddaa 2023-05-04T12:51:18Z

Music sounds so grand - and the sound effects make it feel like the chickens are really there.

Controls seemed weird for the first few seconds but then made complete sense.

Found it really relaxing really enjoyed when the chickens went nuts laying eggs.

Pizzapocalypse by Grayce 2023-05-04T13:28:50Z

Really cool graphics and smooth game play. Started off pretty relaxed then got hectic really fast love how crazy things can get.

Missed music or just some car noises while driving around.

On My Way by Zefphyer 2023-05-03T12:02:33Z

Liked the colour pallete and that there's a pretty narrow part of the screen used. Also loved the way the other cars just piled around you.

Sound was a complete overload it was pretty good made the whole game a real mood.

LD54 — Limited Space

The Signal by OddballDave 2023-10-04T11:27:56Z

Phenomenal graphics, cool puzzles, and a great job voice-acting. Felt incredibly polished. It was well worth getting stuck on the last level for so long just to experience that end screen / area.

Full Circle by Erkberg 2023-10-03T12:06:24Z

Music's an absolute jam, controls feel tight and and game feels crunchy and responsive. I wasn't very good at it but kept retrying to chase better times. I couldn't stop just kept going back.

On that note my only feedback I have is I would have liked to be able to restart using my keyboard rather than having to click with my mouse. I'm pretty lazy and kept wanting to get back into it asap.

The Spellswapper of the Dark Forest by Tygrak 2023-10-05T11:19:55Z

Really cool graphics, appropriately crispy sound effects and a cool feel. Highlight was the music it was exceptional.

Difficulty ramped up well. Never got bored / had fun the whole time. Felt kind of tense towards the end.

Furthest I got was wave 11 :)

Too Much Car by pkenney 2023-10-18T10:05:48Z

This game was great.

Loved the graphics, and the controls, and the way the controls tied into the sound. The sound + control combo. was so good I didn't miss music (which I normally do).

Really loved the way the car controlled at speed.

Liked the levels and the progression. Wish there was a timer so I could see how long I spent mucking around.

Tetranome by Random-storykeeper 2023-10-11T10:13:57Z

I love tetris, and by extension I loved this. It was similar enough to make it easy to get into, but different enough to have a nice learning curve.

Took me a while to get used to rotating and dropping the blocks as well as timing, but once I did moving stuff around and placing 'em was really snappy.

Moved along pretty quick. It was kind of stressful. I liked it.

Music and sound effects were appropriately retro. Really chill slid into the background nicely.

Raft Blaster! by Alchemic 2023-10-05T10:10:10Z

Awesome graphics and really chill music made this seem like it'd be a fun little puzzle game but it got really intense. Every time I retried I though I was going ok then after a few minutes I was completely overwhelmed - but it always felt like it was my fault for managing poorly.

Good work :)

Hardcore Overload by FiveCyclops 2023-10-10T12:47:55Z

Had a lot of fun playing this - it was really easy to sit there going "on more game" over and over.

Great graphics. Cool take on the theme. The car felt good to control - pretty weighty. Really liked the laser - wish I could fire it more often.

Only thing I missed was sound.

Also one other punter mentioned not being able to run it on linux - I ran it via wine without any issues.

@quasilyte thanks so much for playing it and the nice words - I'm really glad you enjoyed it :) If you post a play-through I'll definitely check it out - I get so lost play-testing my own games I'm always interested to see how other people go with them.

how you use it by ThaProfesional 2023-10-03T12:01:02Z

@marcus-otterstrom thanks for playing and the feedback :) I have nearly too much fun recording foley so thanks for digging the way it fit into the game.

The swords sticking around was a stylistic decision mostly 'cause I was short on time. I was planning on adding a few other enemy types - maybe an archer and one with a mace (who would spin the player more but not drop obstacles after death) as well as some different terrain to get in the way. If I got them in could have relied on the dropped swords way less.

@wiredoverload that's fair. I ran out of time to tweak the large-sword-enemy AI / code to beef 'em up as well as time to add in the other enemy types I was planning - which would have fueled more levels and hopefully added some more variability / difficulty.

Thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing :)

Yeah I wish I had more time to beef up the end "boss" - I was thinking to make them spin the player more but making them quicker's a great idea. Unfortunately (well, fortunately) I barely scraped them into the game last minute as a Frankenstein of the players sprites with the normal enemies code.

Ultimate Wall Dropper by ciobeni 2023-10-18T09:54:19Z

Great graphics - loved the characters and the background. Cool animations. Also the music's amazing.

Controls feel pretty responsive - but wish there was more feedback when I hit the opponent.

Took a while for it to click - but I had a great time when it did. Really cool game :)

Hope Falters by Jeremy Ryan 2023-10-18T10:27:57Z

So polished and everything fits together do well. Great game - great graphics, incredibly polished music (I loved how it changed when hope was broken). Really cool levels that ramped up in difficulty perfectly. Real vibe even if it's way too.. mushy and optimistic for my tastes.

Penguin Waddle by Flightless 2023-10-18T10:11:42Z

Playing this on stream, and someone playing games with me asked for "a cute game." I felt like this hit the spec. exactly until a penguin got eaten then I felt bad. It was pretty horrific.

Liked the music, enjoyed running around chasing the tiny penguins. Felt responsive, but a bit.. random - like it was mostly bad luck when they got eaten. It mostly happened when a penguin and orca spawned right next to each other other side of the map.

I would have said my favorite part was the escape whale - but I really loved the ending screens.

Deckit by Rewzu 2023-10-18T11:12:46Z

Once I figured out how it was being scored went from coming last to coming first pretty quickly. Like the strategy but also the feeling of the physics for each car.

Cool graphics, cool idea and cool sound effects.

Feel like it needed silly music and a win screen - but had a ton of fun.

S.P.A.C.E. Ltd. by xinux 2023-10-04T09:28:39Z

Really cool game - played it to the end. Great graphics / lighting and really chill music I was happy grooving to the entire time. Sound effects were great especially charging up a shot - the animation for this was great too felt like there was tons of weight.

Really loved the screaming it was hilarious every time.

Spaced out by Marcus Otterstrom 2023-10-03T12:14:28Z

I love one button games - just seeing how much can go on with limited input. This was so cool.

Music was great couldn't stop boppin' along. Liked how fluid everything felt - especially when holding space that slow zoom in and the way everything slows down and the arrow flashes. It was great.

Wasn't very good at it but kept going back for more tries.

Rush Hour by benskca 2023-10-12T10:50:25Z

What a banger game. A great idea realised really well with cool graphics and amazing music.

Had a lot of fun - especially pushing NPC's into pits.

Liked the level variation.

Would have liked some sound effects - especially for pushing people and people falling into pits.

I Hate This Recoil by ddolgov 2023-10-11T11:03:00Z

Got rescued :) Cool graphics, crunchy sound effects, and great idea.

I liked how each game mode built up the tension. By the last one I was so stressed I kept making mistakes, and every time it kicked me out to the menu. Don't know why I was so tense made it out with tons of time.

Would have loved some music.

Just Another Sokoban by Harksa 2023-10-11T10:33:55Z

Chill music amazing sound effects. Felt really nice to control. Puzzles were interesting enough and fun. Good difficulty ramping. Great work :)

Space: 10000km by TinySalad 2023-10-11T11:24:27Z

Everything about this was my jam. Loved the cut scenes (especially the opening), the bright graphics, the droning audio, how open everything felt.

Enjoyed playing around until I figured it out. The solution made sense, but I needed to poke around a bunch to get there.

Great game :D

DARQY by Euler Moises 2023-10-04T11:53:24Z

Cool game - made it to the end after a bunch of fumbling around :D Graphics felt like an early pokemon game but smoother, sound effects were great and the idea was really cool. Really really dug the locational sound - it was cool playing with heaphones. Kind of wish there was non-grid-based movement so I could ping around a bit quicker 'cause I'm impatient.

Midnight Racers by LoicLeGrosFrere 2023-10-05T10:46:21Z

Looked amazing - had a really cool vibe. Really liked the effects as the car sped up - the camera moving down, the.. speed lines(?) and the way the car shook.

Controlling it felt a little bit.. loose or mushy. Maybe that's what happens when cars go that fast.

Love that I could pit-maneuver my opponent.

Liminal Space by falstro 2023-10-12T10:43:19Z

Looks really nice, and feels good to control.

Awesome use of space and physics - two things I love in games.

Would have liked sound, also maybe some way to tell where I'd been before.. like landmarks / colours.

Turtle Gatling by Francisco Lucas 2023-10-11T11:43:56Z

Great graphics and excellent idea. Gun's really satisfying to fire.

Early on wished there was more enemy variety.. but then when the screen filled up it all clicked together and it was great :D

Would have loved music.

Shop 'n Block by Franci 2023-10-11T10:24:35Z

Liked the graphics and really liked the chill vibes - which the sound contributed to a lot. Also the meandering NPC's they were great.

Sound was kind of quiet - had to really crank my volume way up. When I did the music was excellent.

NPC's stopped moving a few times, also I saw some walk through the middle wall. I think they were glitches but it was pretty cool.

Would have liked to be able to see what items the NPC's wanted / their intentions.

Great work really relaxing :D

Claustromowbic by dreamscale 2023-10-10T13:15:00Z

I've mowed a lot of lawns and this felt bang on. Except maybe the boost.. but that's fine the boost was awesome.

Looks great. Mower felt good to control (well, a bit wonky.. just like a real mower), the boost felt appropriately insane. Cutting the grass was satisfying. And the mower sound was appropriately monotonous.

On that note some music would have been great.

Also would have liked it if the mower slid along the walls a bit more easily. Like I said I've mowed a lot of lawns and they like to slide around when you run into stuff :)

The One by smiley405 2023-10-10T12:59:49Z

Loved the aspect ratio, amazing art style and incredibly fluid animations. It feels great to move around and attack - and in my humble opinion a game feeling good to control / play's incredibly important.

I wasn't very good but kept going back for more :D I'm pretty lazy though and wish I could have restarted without having to reach for my mouse.

Liked the arcade-y music and the sound effects. On that note would have liked a sound effect when enemies land a hit.

Galaxy in a Box by Haydads 2023-10-05T11:00:05Z

Really cool - felt perfect to control - tight but kind of mushy while responding exactly enough to avoid asteroids. When I did hit them I felt like it was my fault. Difficulty ramped up really well.

Dug the take on the theme - **really** dug the "The spaceship would have just taken damage!" warning message.

Missed sound effects / music but had lots of fun.

Attack of the Robot Crabs by Dovodx 2023-10-12T11:02:34Z

Great relentless wave shooter. Graphics and music were great.

Shotgun felt great to fire I think due to the chunky sound effects and the fact it melted the crabs.

Liked how tense it got when the arena shrunk, then the relief when getting a power up and it opened back up again.

HOBO BOX: Battle Arena by poopgames 2023-10-18T10:35:37Z

Art style was cool. Loved the music absolute banger. Unfortunately it stopped after a while. Also loved the different character art.

Took me a while to get used to the controls but appreciated them once I did. Couldn't get a win - kind of wish there was more weight to the hits.

Still played a bunch of rounds and had fun :)

Limited Parking by Krynxx 2023-10-11T10:46:39Z

On the one hand, the graphics and smooth controls and overall idea were all great. I even dug the "you hit something" blooping as it kept going off.

On the other hand you made me parallel park several times.

Missed music.

The whole game felt like trying to get a park at my kids day care. Great job :)

Trapped Goblin by chusmimax 2023-10-04T10:59:09Z

The music was incredibly catchy, the art was excellent and the difficulty ramped up perfectly. The enemies and the general style / theme were really cool. There were a bunch of times I said "what?!" out loud - it was great.

Had a few bad runs where it seemed like no power ups were dropping -but I stuck with it and managed to beat the game.

Great work :D

Tiny Tower by Martin Bousquet 2023-10-04T09:55:40Z

Really cool game - played through to the end.. at least I thought I had. I also thought it was pretty easy. Then the second half slapped me around a bunch - it was a great surprise. Managed to get through it.

Great music, appropriate sound effects and cool graphics. Controls felt pretty tight. Whole thing felt like the best version of a NES game.

Ruins Runner by Ackbad 2023-10-12T11:19:15Z

Love the old school vibes - mostly from the crunchy sound effects and cool graphics.

Smooth to control but also pretty difficult.

Would have liked music.

Loved that the character just kept running on game over.

Shelf Shift by Spajus 2023-10-04T11:10:40Z

Looks really nice and the music's really chill. Whole game feels really chill. Incredibly relaxing just stacking books. I feel like the time limit should have added pressure but it didn't I just had fun seeing how I could fit the books in.

CaveBots by quasilyte 2023-10-04T10:28:40Z

Took me a while / a few tries to figure out how to start and what was going on - but once I did it was a ton of fun and also somehow really relaxing and kind of stressful at the same time. Music's really chill and the graphics look great.

I wasn't very good but retried a bunch of times whenever I'd try stop I decided to "play one more round" and kept going. Feels really unique.. like a mix of dungeon keeper and old school RTS while very much being it's own thing.

Great game. Boggles my mind to think you made it in the competition. Great work :D

One does not make jam without breaking pots by SimonCarter 2023-10-18T10:45:55Z

Cool game. Appreciated the allure of a quicker speed worth more points as well as the ability to pause. Liked the puzzle like quality - pretty cool idea well realised.

Missed music - could have added to the already chill but kind of tense vibe.

Escape the maze by bayunyoubi 2023-10-03T12:58:07Z

Managed to beat it after a few times. Music set a cool mood, it looked great, and played very fluid - it was fun to control.

Because it took me a few tries to beat I wish there was a "retry" or "restart" button when I died. Also would have liked if the doors opened away from me (got stuck on 'em a few times) and there was a bit more feedback when enemies hit into me.

All that said it never really felt too difficult or unfair. I had fun and was really happy replaying it until I figured out how to escape :)

LD55 — Summoning

The Summoning of the Dark Forest by Tygrak 2024-04-17T11:27:52Z

Really loved the graphics and the sound - especially the music. Created a great atmosphere.

Found most of the rooms really interesting to wander around, and a couple a chore - mainly the ones where I felt lost and didn't find the backgrounds as interesting (the "shimmering room" being the main culprit).

Got to the end screen but I feel like there's stuff I missed so I might dive back in some time..

Fire Festival by commanderstitch 2024-04-21T13:25:42Z

Love the aesthetic from the introduction to the game play itself. The graphics were great they had so much charm - same with the sound. Shortly after starting it all turned into a glorious cacophony. Everything worked so well together.

I wasn't really sure what I was doing half the time. I kind of felt like it was both too difficult and too forgiving.. but I got a victory screen and had a bunch of fun doing it :)

Circle Tracer Cookie Defense by pkenney 2024-04-21T13:44:48Z

A really cool idea executed well. Felt responsive. Great graphics and sound (loved the "pop" sound effect) - worked really well together to make a cute and fun mood, which was cool 'cause the game got kind of intense as it went on.

I think that's when I had the most fun - when I was down to one cookie and the screen was absolutely filled with enemies and I could just go nuts in a blind panic.

Also - I feel the pain of having to make something toddler-friendly. No idea if mine would love this or be filled with existential dread at the idea of the cookies being eaten. Could go either way.

Cubomancer by Spexxilove 2024-04-17T11:55:58Z

Loved the graphics, the gameplay loop, and the ambient sounds.

Had a bunch of fun playing it, and loved how crunchy dropping blocks felt.

Really wish there was a "popping" sound effect every time I destroyed a cranberry - would have made it so much more satisfying.

@pe7e thanks and thanks for playing :)

I'd calibrated the controls (/ physics) early on before I made the art when my hit boxes were bigger, then I kind of got used to everything.

Thanks for the feedback I'll try remember to re-check and tweak everything at the end next time.

@coderaurus thanks and thanks for playing :)

I had grand plans to have the "next item" show up in the UI tetris style, and to have every item be useful, but they were lost to time.

The spamming section was my attempt as using the mechanics for something other than killing enemies. I agree it didn't work out great - needs tweaking :)

HTON by deniskazantsev 2024-04-17T12:07:36Z

Really cool graphics and a great mood. Really loved the "feel" of the world - it was like there was a ton of lore hiding just beyond what I could play.

The "click" sound effect was satisfying.

Enjoyed spinning around in the story - the achievements were good motivation to keep going around.

Kind of wish there was some ambient music, but didn't mind the silence.

Spirit Edge by BadPiggy 2024-04-17T11:43:16Z

Great graphics, crunchy feeling gameplay, and the sound really elevates everything.

Loved how difficult it was, and enjoyed having to get good quickly so I could experience the joy of using the special attack.

The Summoning Circle by Harmadillo 2024-04-23T13:29:15Z

Cool game built on a cool concept. I liked the story and the graphics. Really liked the music.

Got to the end I think.. would love to see it stretched a bit further.

Against the Titan by CodeRaurus 2024-04-17T11:06:15Z

Music and graphics were great, and a really cool execution of the theme.

Loved the hand gestures.

Managed to beat it (got the fish), found it easier the faster it ran. Also had more fun the faster it ran, especially towards the end when there were more symbols offering a bit more variation.

inner vacant- by She Wrote 2024-04-17T10:48:21Z

Really loved the graphics, sound (especially the music), and the unique controls - it was a real mood.

Aspect ratio was really cool as well.

Whole thing felt arty.. but still accessible. Felt pretty easy to pick up and play. Didn't get bored at all - liked the challenge. Died a couple of times and appreciate that I didn't have to go back to the start.

It's not on you at all, but I wish I hadn't broke my scroll wheel and fixed it with a paperclip a few weeks ago - it would have made things easier.

Tiny Summoner by Dovodx 2024-04-23T13:37:59Z

This was awesome - tons of fun to play, great music, and a lot of variety in the summons. Started slow but got to be kind of overwhelming pretty quickly which I loved. Really enjoyed pinging around while my small army did all my dirty work.

Slimemancer by chusmimax 2024-04-18T13:26:59Z

Cool idea executed well. There's a lot you could do with it if you wanted to take it further.

Dug the art.

Died once, then managed to win. Had fun playing the whole time :)

Summoner's Chess by Matt Ravenhall 2024-04-18T13:15:22Z

Had a ton of fun playing this. Cool idea, good level variation, and the difficulty ramped up well.

Failed a few times, but eventually made it to the end.

Found it really relaxing for some reason..

Summoning Solitaire by eudaimyst 2024-04-23T13:51:58Z

Cool game - really enjoyed playing it. Dug the graphics (really liked the difference between friend and enemy units) and found it relaxing watching all the unit run around - for some reason it reminded me of "Dracula: Reign of Terror".

Didn't get win screen, but I'm not great at these kind of games. I'm also pretty tired and couldn't remember which suits were better against the other suits..

Would have loved some sound.. maybe some music or even just "swords clashing" to fill the space.

Also - the cards kind of got in the way of the field. That said I did like that there wasn't some cordoned off "UI" area decreasing the play space so I don't know.. everything felt like a good size..

The Cleansing by henk 2024-04-18T13:37:10Z

Great graphics and sound - worked well together (along with the aspect ratio) to make a really claustrophobic atmosphere. Got pretty creepy at times.

Found the areas different enough that I was engaged the entire time. Also like magnusfurcifer I had to grab a pen and paper to get through the last one - which is always great :D

Really cool game.

Willy the Wizard by Queble 2024-04-21T13:56:59Z

Wow the graphics were amazing.

Felt really smooth to play. Dug the mechanics and the puzzles. Managed to get through it pretty quickly once I figured out what was going on, but still got stumped a few times. I was also worried I'd soft-locked myself but luckily I hadn't.

Only thing missing was music.. and maybe some more puzzles. Really cool game :)

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

I Have Put The Creature Into My Gun by Jezzamon 2024-10-20T13:11:06Z

What a great entry - cool graphics and music, and really crunchy sound effects. Managed to hit the win screen. Everything worked together well and it stayed interesting the entire play through. Really appreciated the back tracking - felt metroidvania-y in a relatively small package.

Oh also loved watching the tiny creatures spill out of lanterns then run around.

Invertaburied by bradur 2024-10-23T10:10:56Z

Cool graphics, groovy music which made it easy to keep playing. Took me a bit to figure out what was going on, but once I did it was really relaxing. Maybe too relaxing.. but it was really easy to keep playing to the end.

Kind of wish all the bugs didn't run away.. but also liked that it made the upgrade choices mean a bit more.

Let's Go to the Magical Frog Party in the Dark Forest! by Tygrak 2024-10-11T12:51:03Z

Loved the graphics and the music. Great game design as well - the game play loop was really tight. It burrowed it's way into my head and just hung out for a while, and the longer I played it the more cool strategies I managed to figure out to get more mana. After a few false starts managed to get the W on the last day. Amazing game :)

Beetle Brigade by bentglasstube 2024-10-14T11:34:58Z

Clean and consistent graphics, really solid game-play and tons of levels. This was amazing.

Not being able to spawn the bugs / try out a level on demand was a bit rough. 'Cause of this I got stuck with them running around a lot and it took me AGES to beat it (but I did). Luckily the music is an absolute certified banger so it was really easy to jam out and keep playing.

Tinybuns by notnasiul 2024-10-13T12:15:10Z

Phenomenal game to churn out in 48 hours. Great music, great graphics, cool gameplay idea, really polished, just the right length and difficulty ramp up.

I felt like a bit of a psychopath when my second paragraph repeated the word "killers" a few too many times..

TiNY's GardEEn by ROBOWARRIOR1982 2024-10-20T12:54:35Z

A bit repetitive, but lots of fun - great work :)

GO BLO by deniskazantsev 2024-10-09T12:31:47Z

Loved the graphics, the sound effects, and the controls. It felt really cool pinging the little dudes all over the place. Really liked the ideas in the levels - enjoyed the trail and error of figuring out what things do and how to move on.

Only thing I really missed (aside from more levels) was music.

Exter-meh-nator by Samuel Fine 2024-10-15T03:18:01Z

Never seen or played a second person perspective game before - so I find this incredibly cool. I'm also impressed that you managed to belt out such a cool looking 3D game for the compo. Music fits in nicely, and the game loop's fun for a bit. Got past the five stars then wasn't sure what to do next - wanted another goal. Had fun while I was running away though :)

Tiny Lab! by Wren Erickson 2024-10-10T12:15:25Z

The fact you built this for the competition absolutely blows my mind. Cool graphics, fun and very fitting music. The way they just run around and do stuff.. it's all so cool and cohesive. I'm really keen to come back to this when I have more time and just.. build and watch everyone run around. Great work.

Moldable Monster of Mine by She Wrote 2024-10-23T10:27:04Z

Amazingly cool idea realised really well. Super creative. Love the art, and the gameplay loop's really fun. Really like the space for creativity and for me to make my own terrible art in the game - got me attached. Found placing pieces a bit slow at times and wish there was music.

Niblo and Mubbit by milq 2024-10-14T07:13:36Z

Really cool game mechanics, and enough levels / room to really explore them. Also really cool graphics and I loved the way things jiggled around. Great sound effects - a cool and effective story.

Missed music, and found the challenge more.. frustrating than exciting. Maybe it would have been different if the stakes were higher?

Really cool idea realised into an original and well polished game :)

Olives with legs by tete 2024-10-08T12:25:36Z

Really cool overall idea and cool execution - I liked the ideas in each level. Had a ton of fun playing through it. Got stuck in level 2 for a while.. and I'm not sure I solved level 8 how I was supposed to but I managed to beat it :)

Love the graphics, the way everything controlled, and the sound effects. Missed music.. but I'm not sure how to make music that's "olive-y"..

The Governor's Will by chusmimax 2024-10-09T12:41:32Z

Graphics were great, music was flippin' phenomenal. Really liked the take on the theme - especially with the defensive units. Had fun and managed to beat it first try - in the end it was chaos for the poor ants :)

G'nope by Frib 2024-10-13T11:51:24Z

Watched the required videos, and subscribed to the channel. Also beat the game (took me 8m 32s 'cause I'm a scrub).

Mind boggling you got this built in 48h. Feels really polished - good sounds (loved the voice lines), cool graphics and pretty smooth to control. Would have liked it if movement was a bit quicker, and there was a cross-hair for the bow.

Great entry :)

DE SMÅ by dysleixc 2024-10-07T13:39:41Z

Everything about this looks and seems so chill - the relaxing graphics, the music, the floppy characters and the charming story. But it was kind of really stressful (in a good way). Everything moved slightly too fast for me to feel on top of things. I liked the challenge. Had to retry a level in the middle a few times but got to the end eventually :)

Norrland by StoicGoose 2024-10-17T11:57:47Z

Took me a while to figure it out but managed to get 8 through. What a mood :D Loved the sound effects, graphics, and the gameplay - all of it worked really well together. Pretty simple, pretty rough, but also pretty rewarding.

Larrys Ducked Up Adventures 2 by Fatz 2024-10-17T11:47:29Z

Really cool game - love the different duck types and really love the music. Found getting hit by smaller ducks and losing bar a bit rough. Also had a tough time if I didn't get bread quickly right at the start of each round - it'd turn into a slog.

Wet_Adventures (GigaGamesStudio) by Willbone 2024-10-11T13:00:30Z

Really chill I enjoyed zooming around collecting bacteria. Couldn't figure what else to do beyond that - tried a bunch of stuff. Really want to know what the slider at the top does.. I'd also love animation on the tardigrade as it moves around.

Star-Bearers by Makache 2024-10-15T02:56:20Z

Great art and animation, cool (but a bit repetitive) music and sound effects, and a really interesting idea realised pretty well. The core game play loop (clicking to walk) was really satisfying. Would have liked some variation later in the game, but I think the length was perfect and the difficulty ramped up well.

TINY GOON (Ludum Dare 56) by SdCorpse 2024-10-23T11:10:39Z

Loved the graphics and the sound effects. Enjoyed the music. Also really enjoyed enemies flying off when they died. Got stuck and didn't finish, but I'll try come back.

Wish there was an indication of when enemies got hit.

Tiny Friends :) by daflamingpotato 2024-10-07T13:25:04Z

Cool concept. Had a great time playing - managed to beat it :) Had fun trying to figure out where to go, what to do and more importantly what to do with my little guys.

Controls felt good and were easy to pick up. The sound effects were really nice. I kind of wish there was a bit more going on graphics wise, but also kind of don't. What's there had a ton of charm and everything gelled together.

One thing I did miss was music. I think I just need noise to fill the void..

Snail Typing by SatLess 2024-10-08T12:34:21Z

Classic "looks and sounds really cute, and is easy to pick up and play but exceedingly stressful" style game - in the best possible way. Got stuck on the last level for ages, but managed to smash it out eventually. I think the difficulty curve was perfect.

Had a lot of fun getting through it, and felt a good sense of achievement after.

Loved the graphics, but I was so focused on hitting the right keys it took me a bit of time to take them in. Liked the crispy sound effects - and like a few other people would have loved some music.

I was a bit sad I only escaped with two socks.. then I remembered that's the perfect number of socks so now I'm happy.

Loved the sound it was really chill - both the effects and the music. Graphics were great. Loved the puzzles and the difficulty. Great game.

Cool art / style - I really liked the animation. Controls feel good. Managed to get all the way to the top.

Missed sound - would have loved music and some effects. Also similar to ellaris I could sometimes jump through blocks, and a few times I fell through them.

> how do i make my own sounds?

@itstimothy999 for sound effects I normally set aside 30m to record myself either making weird mouth sounds into a microphone or hitting things into other things. Eventually I get a few sounds I like. My music skills are terrible I just noodle around on a super cheap second hand keyboard.

I'm sure there's programs that could chip-tune something out pretty quick.. including some crunchy NES style sound effects..

I'm terrible at RTS games.. so I didn't get very far even after a few tries. Sorry that's more feedback about my rather than the game..

Cool graphics, really cool game play systems. Easy to control / pick up - with a bunch of depth to dive into (especially for someone bad at RTS). Really great in terms of realising the theme. Mind-boggling that you built this in two days.

Only thing I missed was music.. also more skill at RTS games..

Cool art, cool music, great sound effects. Really dug the idea and the method of control - Would love to see it pushed further / used in some more levels.
