It's a shame the view was so zoomed out, the sprites looked interesting but I couldn't really make them out. The gameplay seems lacking in meaningful decisions for the player to make. I just spammed out the entire deck as quickly as I could, since more units on the field will kill enemies more efficiently.
@nathmate Thanks for the review, it was hard to balance for sure, that was actually my test, if I spam all the units immediately whether the player could win. I was thinking of adding a draw cooldown to prevent spamming, but decided in the end that would just be annoying.
I figure, if spamming all the units doesn't end in a win condition, but close to, then that would mean with strategic playing one should be able to win.
The placement of kings and queens and countering suit waves definitely helps get further, but ultimately RNG whether you get the cards or not.
I agree more balancing should have been done to the unit and enemy strength and suit bonuses so more strategic play is necessary.
Cool game - really enjoyed playing it. Dug the graphics (really liked the difference between friend and enemy units) and found it relaxing watching all the unit run around - for some reason it reminded me of "Dracula: Reign of Terror".
Didn't get win screen, but I'm not great at these kind of games. I'm also pretty tired and couldn't remember which suits were better against the other suits..
Would have loved some sound.. maybe some music or even just "swords clashing" to fill the space.
Also - the cards kind of got in the way of the field. That said I did like that there wasn't some cordoned off "UI" area decreasing the play space so I don't know.. everything felt like a good size..
