Interesting spin on the concept. Was there audio? I didn't hear anything. The controls worked well. Really seemed polished.

random-storykeeper 2023-10-02 23:07

@embedder72 There's definitely music and sound effects. That's strange you aren't hearing them. Are you playing the web or the Windows build? I just passed this onto IJZM, and he suggests trying to refresh or play the Windows build if you aren't already.

Really fun game, interesting take on a classic puzzle concept. I love the music, it fits perfectly with the mood. The time limit really makes the game interesting, and the lasers and an interesting strategy element for the timing

vfrabasil 2023-10-03 03:06

Nice tetris variant. well done!

strato 2023-10-03 04:06

This is surprisingly polished. Good art, the music is nice, and the gameplay is solid. Very well done. I'm not quick enough to properly manage the bomb / star placements but I had fun regardless.

jakjak 2023-10-03 04:17

Really nice theme-fitting game, quite addictive. Not much else to say, it does what it needs to do and is fun.

aluminumfool 2023-10-03 06:34

I really like the different types of bonus blocks there are. It made it a lot more fun to play. Nice job :)

gonzo13 2023-10-03 07:30

@random-storykeeper Nice one! Good theme implementation and new vision of classic tetris. Well done!

random-storykeeper 2023-10-03 09:45

@gonzo13 Shoutout to @ijzm for coming up with the concept!

branquelo 2023-10-03 14:07

Wow, it's a pretty hard game. I didn't thought it woul be that hard, but it's a fun puzzle game, good job!

helloimbenjamin 2023-10-03 15:00

Great Stuff! You guys did a really good job! It's a lot of fun to play!

kasmilus 2023-10-03 15:47

It's a fun game and it looks good! The controls are quite hard to get used to, I kept pressing the drop button accidentally all the time...

ijzm 2023-10-03 17:01

@kasmilus you can change the controls, if you can't get used to it!

hunter-van-brocklin 2023-10-03 18:27

this was really fun! i appreciated being able to change up the controls (esp. arrow keys over WASD here), after a few games i was really able to get into the zone - and the bgm also helped with that, such a full sound and fitting atmosphere for an endless puzzler.

i think i'd have appreciated the tetrominoes always being the same color per piece, like regular tetris, so as to be able to keep an association towards the "upcoming piece" in peripheral vision, but it doesn't detract from the gameplay or anything. again drawing inevitable comparisons to tetris, a "hold piece" function would also be neat to help skirt around situations where you can't make a legal move, although maybe it'd be more "endless" than you'd like if that were possible - same with having a free strike before you lose. anyway, this is a cool and polished-feeling take on tetrominoes! my high score in easy mode is 654, and i will return to it again soon 🫡

donutshoes 2023-10-03 18:42

Great take on the theme! It took me a couple tries to "get" it, and once I did I let the JAMMIN' music help me get into the tetris brain-space. Great job, an awesome jam entry!

kenjimarcio 2023-10-04 15:49

Good idea! I had a little difficulty at first with the controls but I think that with more time I can get used to it

smitner 2023-10-04 15:49

A great take on tetris, adding the dreaded Z dimension! It took me a while to get the hang of it, and It was fun.

One feedback point: The shadow did obscure other placed pieces which made it difficult to see if I can drop safely or not.

Well done! and congratulations on the release

random-storykeeper 2023-10-04 16:03

@kenjimarcio I definitely had trouble coordinating the rotate and drop buttons at first. I hope you'll be able to find a control scheme that works for you in the menu.

phoenixstroh 2023-10-04 16:27

charming little game! the sounds are lovely and the music is fun to listen to. the controls weren't super intuitive when i first started, but after i changed the controls it felt a lot better! i wish the visual for when a piece was being placed down didn't obscure the area around, because sometimes it was hard to see the area around. also, for my computer the gameplay was quite tiny on the screen but not sure if this was my device or not. overall great job!

davision 2023-10-04 16:54

Great to see another game inspired by Tetris but with some some unique twists! We even both made it so that the shapes fall from the camera onto the playing field. Really like the many layers of strategy involved here! The pixel style also fits really well. One thing that could be better is seeing what happened on gameover instead of immediately changing the screen

decentsauce 2023-10-04 17:36

Really fun use of the tetris blocks! My only gripe would be that I found it a bit difficult to knowingly place bombs/stars in a good spot so those felt effects felt a bit random but other then that it's a very solid entry!

dan-burns 2023-10-05 01:43

I'm not a programmer, so no notes there, but as a composer I can say I loved the music and sound. And I'm ALWAYS down for a new take on tetris/dr.mario etc etc. great work!

mathkarma 2023-10-05 08:45

Really like this one, first tetris like mechanics i encountered. Great idea, great job

somewan 2023-10-05 12:26

It's an interesting twist on the classic Tetris game, with timed elimination and the coordination of small props. The balancing and tweaking of these elements are very well done.

andruid 2023-10-05 22:41

Very creative rendition of Tetris. I'm sadly terrible! Spot on the theme and very fluid to play. Congratulations!

amberfall92 2023-10-06 01:47

Pretty fun~ I enjoy these twists on tetris. But I struggled with the controls. I would have liked to have arrow keys and spacebar as an option. Nicely polished though and has a good cohesive look :) nice job

adam-konig 2023-10-06 03:08

Create entry. Really nice take on tetris. Provides a lot of interesting possibility space and strategies for the player. Super easy to get going and see how long you can last. Strong work!

random-storykeeper 2023-10-06 03:53

@amberfall92 Were you playing on the web version or the downloaded version? I was told that default controls should also include arrow keys and spacebar, but they seem to not be the case in the web version. In either case, you can adjust the controls from the menu and they should save.

agraffs 2023-10-06 06:54

Nice game ! A nice interpretation of a classic game ! It was nice playing it the concept is really cool. Was originally going to give it a few tries and ended up spending 1h on it. XD

hadesfury 2023-10-06 10:59

Pretty good idea. And quit tough. The webgl loading takes ages :scream:

I’d like the "will be persisted" feedback a bit more clearer .. not sur how

great game

ruslana 2023-10-06 13:05

Interesting idea and quite finished game!

iron-head 2023-10-07 19:40

Thank you for allowing me to change the controls. Otherwise I wouldn't say this: the game is fun. Cool idea, like an inside-out tetris. I played tetris a lot, so... idk I guess I'm used to the blocks... Generally, I liked it. Good game.

zee-yuen 2023-10-08 06:21

this was great, very well polished for a game jam game. I could totally see a mobile version of this game and getting sucked into it for a while

thaprofesional 2023-10-11 10:13

I love tetris, and by extension I loved this. It was similar enough to make it easy to get into, but different enough to have a nice learning curve.

Took me a while to get used to rotating and dropping the blocks as well as timing, but once I did moving stuff around and placing 'em was really snappy.

Moved along pretty quick. It was kind of stressful. I liked it.

Music and sound effects were appropriately retro. Really chill slid into the background nicely.

cookie-chr 2023-10-17 12:03

Simple but fun! I particularly appreciate the control customization
