LD44 — Your life is currency

STR!PES by Geckoo1337 2019-04-30T21:54:34Z

Having played a TON of super hexagon, this was really nice to see. You managed to capture the atmosphere of Super Hexagon really well. The visual effects in particular are really good. There are a lot of minor details that are a little less polished than the original game, like the transitions between polygons being rougher, less leniency on the hit detection near edges, and not being able to push into the sides of rings. The polygon transitions can sometimes just kill you and there's nothing you can do about it. All that aside though, this is really neat. I'm gonna keep playing 'till I get the #1 spot on the leaderboard :P

Vital Operations by TinyCastleGuy 2019-05-03T04:20:43Z

@arcana Sorry you weren't able to figure it out :( Basically, you go up to a patient, and if they have a surgery they need, you can press x to go into the surgery minigame. In the minigame, you'll see they're missing a particular body part. You drag your mouse across the red line slowly on the corresponding body part on the doctor's body. Then a sprite for the body part will appear and you can move it to the area where the patient is missing a body part. The youtube video up at the top should show an example of RSK doing it. Thanks for playing our game!

Mahouflask by appix 2019-05-03T04:15:36Z

I liked it a lot! I think the speed at which enemies come hurts the strategy of the game a bit; when the enemies are coming so quickly it's hard to plan out upgrades strategically or handle all the information on screen. Maybe if the difficulty ramped up slower you'd give players a chance to get used to using the upgrades instead of having them overwhelmed from the beginning.

Dungeon of the Blood God by LurkinMcClerkin 2019-04-30T05:43:26Z

I feel like this game maximized on the elements it was working with really well. The combat is nice, I feel like I can sometimes react to enemies' attacks but I'm still a little unsure if it's possible. Since the combat and the random events are both tied into the attack damage/poise/health/money systems it feels very cohesive and it makes the choices vary depending on how much you have for each variable. The art also manages to do a lot with limited scope. Stuff like the walls/floor feels polished even though it probably took like 10 mins to put together. The animations are really crisp too. Also I'm not sure if I just suck at the game or if the narrator is programmed to always be condescending when I die :P Anyway, thanks for the game, I really enjoyed it!

Death. Mame. Gun. Kill. by edshotmachine 2019-04-30T06:41:35Z

I like this game a lot. Going into it I was expecting the focus to be more on run and gun action, but it seems like the gameplay is more about sneaking up on enemies in the right way. Then if things go wrong it's about quick reflexes and action. The AI for the enemies is pretty good for this. It might be nice to see stuff like them reacting if you barely miss them with a shot or other behaviors that would make fighting them more interesting. I also love the sound when you dash :P One issue that I'm not sure is specific to me is that if I use the scroll wheel on the web version it scrolls the page down. Sometimes there'll be a bug where the game thinks a certain direction is constantly being held down too. Anyway, thanks for the game, I enjoyed it.

Currency Lane by Cody Nguyen 2019-05-21T02:23:14Z

I like the idea, but it could be improved a lot with a few adjustments. I think the jump for the coin is too floaty, it's hard to time so you'll hit/avoid fast moving objects when you're in the air for so long. It's really hard to tell which lane the enemies/coins are in too as other people have pointed out. I'm not really sure of a good solution for this, maybe if you move the camera up more so that you're looking on the lanes at an angle it would be easier to see. The shop items are really really expensive. Imagine how long it would take you to get $1000 in real life through only pennies, dimes and quarters :P Anyway, I thought it was pretty fun, thanks for making it!

LD45 — Start with nothing

Planet 7: No Data by Belonzik 2019-10-13T00:06:46Z

I really enjoyed the game! The aesthetic and audio were really well polished and created a really cool atmosphere. The gameplay itself feels like it could have been fleshed out more though. I think the timer counting down would have been better if the player had some more direction so they could feel like they had a good chance of making it out alive on their first attempt. Otherwise as you keep replaying it until you figure out what you're supposed to do some of the tension goes away.

Jump'n'Venture by WilloXs 2019-10-13T14:19:51Z

This game was really good! I liked the art/music and the idea of the caveman learning how to move from the cave paintings was a nice idea. The platforming was nice too, but it felt like there was a really huge input delay between when you press buttons and when your character moves. It was really frustrating and made it super hard to do areas like the really cramped one near the end of the game. I also didn't realize at first that there would be a leaping move so I kept trying to jump over that gap with my normal jump even though I couldn't do it. Anyway, the game on the whole had a really nice feel to it and I enjoyed it a lot. :)

TwoFiveFive by mediyaz 2019-10-14T20:05:02Z

This game was pretty good! I liked the animations and art for it and these sorts of prediction games are always pretty interesting. I think to some degree getting a score above 90% relies on luck since for this one you can barely distinguish between the two colors and I only got a 94%. Green.png Then again that might be because difference in RBG values results in greater visual difference when the colors aren't on the super bright or dark ends of the spectrum. The sounds for moving the sliders was a pretty nice touch, though they can be slightly grating. Thanks for the game, I liked playing it!

Nothing For Heaven by Xotsu 2019-10-14T20:20:48Z

The art was really nice, it reminded me of Hollow Knight. The atmospheric color changing effect really worked well to make each area feel unique. Some animations might help make the characters feel a little more alive. I really liked the concept of having to maintain nothingness in the game, but I think it could have been more fleshed out if there was more of a story. The art did a good job at making the world seem interesting so it would be nice to know more about it. I liked the music too, but I don't think it fits the tone of the game well. Nice job on the game overall, I liked it a lot.

One Red Paperclip by Andre Fremaux 2019-10-14T18:36:03Z

I liked the art and style of the game a lot. The idea of trading up starting with the paperclip is also a pretty good fit for the theme. Even though I kind of liked the minimalist way you went with character dialogue, I think it would make the gameplay more interesting if there were more options for how you could talk with the other characters. Some dialogue could add some more thought to the trading rather than just walking around looking for the person who wants your item. Anyway, I enjoyed the game, I think it's pretty polished for the amount of time you had to make it.

LD52 — Harvest

The Night Harvest by Matank 2023-01-15T00:15:28Z

I liked the game, it was pretty well polished with the story and different phases. I think maybe the farmer could have spent less time looking around during that phase, once the dog is hiding in the bushes and hasn't been found there's not too much point to waiting. The balloons (?) were interesting, I didn't realize you have to dart in and out at first since they were going so fast. The ending was nice, it was cool to have that moment happen as I was in the middle of being stressed out at harvesting the seeds. It was a little abrupt though. Thanks for the game!

There Was A Day by T90. 2023-01-15T01:20:36Z

I'm not very much of a visual novel person, so take my review with a grain of salt lol

I appreciate all the effort you guys put into the story, it's very detailed for a 3 day game and the presentation is pretty polished. The AI art turned out pretty well, the final product looks good. I don't know if the game should be rated for art, since it's not really the same playing field as making it all from scratch. I feel like there's a little bit of a disconnect of the styles of the different characters and backgrounds sometimes, but I'm not sure if there's a good way to tune that with the AI. For the story, I would have liked to see some more background on who the characters are, where they live, or that sort of information. There's a lot of small talk and characters bringing up events that happened in the past, but I think trying to follow "less is more" and "show don't tell" a little more would have helped me appreciate the characters more. I think the parallel between the characters in the story and the life lost in the Ukrainian conflict is an interesting idea, even if I don't agree with the way you framed the war. I think it is a little jarring to have it be slice of life stuff and then have such a serious topic come though. There were some moments where I can see the parallel coming through a bit more in the story, but I think it could have been developed a bit more. Anyway, thanks for the game!

Harvest Week by boaz4 2023-01-14T23:27:56Z

I enjoyed the game a lot! I think you made some good decisions for the game concept to fit the jam format. The story carried a lot of the weight for the game to keep me interested. The art also looks pretty polished for the simple style you went for. The twist gave a lot more depth to the game than if you played the "harvest time" theme straight. I did feel like I didn't have much agency in the plot. Not that I have to make choices to branch the story or anything but even little things like filling the dog bowl help break up the feeling of just "wake up, get the juice, work at the bush, go to sleep to progress the plot". Even though I liked the story twist I feel like there could have been a bit more to it too. I figured it out fairly early and I was trying to guess about exactly what was going on but it seemed a bit all over the place. Anyway, it's very impressive you got as much in to the game in the jam time frame as you did, I had a fun time with the game.

LD54 — Limited Space

Dig That Hole! by DriagonV 2023-10-04T21:32:37Z

Nice work on the game! There was a bug where the enemies would spawn on top of you or glitch through you which made the combat a little unwieldy but overall I liked the concept. Having to manage all your crops and trying to expand while fighting enemies is a good idea for the core gameplay.

Cavescape by Tomssuli 2023-10-04T22:13:23Z

Enjoyed the game! The art, music, and story all came together to made the world of the game feel interesting. The character voices, dialogue and the intro/outro had a unique personality and the presentation was good. It was also impressive to have the world be as big as it was, most jam games don't have that larger feeling to them. To be honest, I really didn't like the ship controls since it felt like I had to be constantly modulating the speed since the ship accelerates so fast. But overall it was an impressive entry!

Capsuled! by Norma 2023-10-04T16:53:01Z

Really impressed with the amount of art made for this, it's hard to make that much with a good level of quality in the time for a jam. The descriptions for items made me interested in learning more about the backstory. Reading the descriptions for items to try to guess which ones go together was a cool way to integrate some story into the gameplay. For a jam game it was pretty playable, but sometimes it does get really hard to tell where the layout of different objects is. Maybe having a button to press that could temporarily only show the current tiles would be a good feature. The music was pretty well suited to the game, it fits the puzzle game feeling but also has some cyberpunk intensity. I also liked the choice to have the packing minigame occur at multiple different scales. Good work on the game!

Claustrophobia by Maryk 2023-10-04T16:00:58Z

I liked the game, the atmosphere was pretty good! The music fit the tone of the graphics and story but the loop was a little short. The mechanic with being able to pick up and place the lamp was kinda cool, it would have been nice to see that used a little more in some puzzles. I think adding some other surprising elements outside of the doors disappearing on you would have been nice, since I was expecting every door to close up on me later in the game, it started feeling less mysterious. Overall nice work!

Mr. FLATFORMER's House by blinyadebil 2023-10-04T22:32:33Z

Really impressive polish for the time limit and a pretty cool concept. I think having a lengthier tutorial would be a good idea for this game since it takes a bit to wrap your head around some of the mechanics. The puzzles were pretty smart, but a few of them felt like I was missing some info about how the game worked when I was trying to figure out the puzzle. The art is really cute and makes good use of pretty simple designs. I wish the loop for the music was a little longer but it fits the game well. Great job, probably my favorite jam game I've played so far!

LD59 — Signal

Alpine by RenD 2026-04-24T23:48:49Z

Really well made game! I got all 10 feathers and enjoyed playing through it. The art and animation was really nicely done, and the music did a good job setting the mood for the game. I think some more elaborate music could have elevated the game even further, but given the time I'm very impressed with what you were able to accomplish on the whole. The combination of the platforming with the puzzles involving the cables was really neat. I was a little confused in the room with the opening and closing doors; I wasn't sure why the door on the lower right was opened when you connected the signal to that specific terminal. I liked the mechanic with cutting the rope to get a double jump, it would have been nice to get a tricky puzzle that involved that idea. I think one of the feathers requires that and maybe one of the main sections though so I'm glad it got some use. The dialogue was a nice touch too, I'm glad you took the time to add that.

Agent Gnortz by Murumart 2026-04-25T01:20:56Z

I loved the sense of style in the art and music, I'm a big fan. The animations and effects were really nice too. I liked the mechanic to capture the energy during conversations but I think it could've been balanced a little better. Some of the patterns were so chaotic and extreme it limited how much strategy was involved. When the spaceship touched down on earth in the cutscene it looked vaguely like it was landing in Africa so in my head this entire thing takes someplace in East Africa lol
