Very, very creative entry! I loved the concept art and mix of different cultures represented in areas within the game; it was a clever usage of the theme and gave the game its own unique style. However, the lack of options and story prevented it from being super engaging, at least from a gameplay perspective. I would really enjoy a full version of this game, perhaps with more hallways and areas of the apartment to explore, more complex puzzles and representations of Australia and Antarctica. Maybe even some original music (I know I would like to compose for a game with multiple genres of music like this). But for what it was, I don't think I've ever seen this concept in a game before. Good job!
While maybe not the most intuitively designed game ever, this was still an amazing effort for the allotted time. The animations and music were very charming; they reminded me of SNES-era games like Yoshi's Island. The gameplay isn't too dry either, though I feel it could use some tweaking. The parts of the world you made are well designed, but make sure that the player is eventually led towards the power up they need to collect in order to move on so they don't wander off from it and have to go back or get stuck. In addition to this, I feel like the game could use a minimap and maybe an ending that doesn't leave the player confused. Other than that (and a few bugs involving enemy spawning and clicking on the screen), Bugyard is a very solid entry.
Very cute and charming game! The synth-based music and quirky art style were what really made the game for me. Little touches of humor like the sperm with a mustache, too. However, I feel like the actual gameplay could use a bit more meat besides swimming against other sperm and spamming buttons until you win. I feel that the game succeeded in what it wanted to be, though. Would you be able to release the soundtrack for this one?
A simple and enjoyable game, though I found it to be a bit on the easy side once you know what you're doing. I like the variety of characters and feel like maybe you could give each different advantages and disadvantages, like having varying strength or quickness. Other than that, there's not too much to the game. Perhaps the fish helped bump up my rating a bit, though. ;)
Have you ever played Drawn to Life? It's a very similar concept to what you did here, but your game still feels unique on its own. It's really fun to play as and interact with your own creations in a game, and you pulled it off pretty well. I would say that the shooting part is a little simple, and that's not a bad thing but I would like to have seen the whole "choose your color of weapon" thing expanded upon, because it seemed kind of interesting.
@Raiyumi I think we're considering lowering the length of enemy waves, possibly making them start off short and get slightly longer. We're big fans of your work, by the way. Thanks for your feedback!
Wow, the fact that this is the second rhythm-typing game I've played this jam blows my mind.
And good job on this one! The thing I like the most about it is the visual presentation, but I like the gameplay and the varied music as well. The rhythm seemed a bit off with the music at times, but I didn't have a huge problem keeping up with it (apart from the speed level).
One idea I had while playing is to add new rules as the game progresses. For example: When you see two of the same letter in a row, type them twice as fast. I think there's potential in this concept and I enjoyed what you did with it.
Not sure what two genres you're trying to combine, but cute game! It's too bad when you can't finish everything in time, but I would encourage you to keep working on it outside of the jam. Any game where you play as a jelly donut has potential to me.
Adorable and good entry that I was not good at because I didn't realize you had to press G until after I played it. :stuck_out_tongue:
Okay so no joke, this is something I said during the conception of my team's space shooter-dating sim hybrid:

Anyway, despite having no gameplay you excelled in the pixel art and humor. The music is pretty great too. I would love to see a full game out of this.
I especially like the concept for this game and I'm pretty impressed with the overall length. Unfortunately I couldn't get far enough without dying, so I feel like some save points would be useful. Anyway, I like how you took the basic elements of a Metroidvania and mixed it with the gameplay of a bullet hell. My main criticism is that areas can often feel cramped and you don't get much of a break to explore between rooms because you're constantly preparing yourself for the enemies on the next screen. I also accidentally used the teleporter before exploring further, so... whoops. I really like how the rest of the game design turned out, though. Looking forward to the next version!
The juxtaposition in this game is so hilarious and clever. I love when the music changes from intense to cutesy.
Very addicting game that works well both in concept and execution. The only thing not present here I would have liked to see is some catchy music to type along to, but that is excusable since the game already feels polished and clearly a lot of hard work went into making the gameplay fluid. Also got quite challenging as I progressed, partially because I'm bad at typing.
