LD45 — Start with nothing

Fanfare Fantasy by Valden 2019-10-14T08:43:46Z

Very wholesome game! Love how the music gets quieter so you can hear the instrument of the person you're talking to, Its a nice detail. Amazing work, by far one of my favorites so far!

Adventure Bag by Raphiell 2019-10-09T03:09:17Z

I love the backpack mechanic of this game, there is a LOT of potential here for a neat rogue-like experience! The instructions at the start were quite overwhelming, either breaking up them up onto different screens or highlighting specific parts one at a time would help. But nevertheless Awesome work, well deserving of a high rating!

Tiny Reactor by coffeecup.winner 2019-10-14T08:27:31Z

Definitely could play around with this for a long time! All of my nitpicks have already been mentioned by others (Instructions and erase all feature) so wont go into detail haha. Regardless, awesome work!

Space Office by Celdur 2019-10-14T07:53:33Z

Very fun game, took a while to start to get the hang of things but really enjoyed the trial and error. If anything my only nitpick would be that dialogue goes by way too fast so its quite hard to read. Regardless, awesome work! Very well done!

m_void1 by taffyko 2019-10-08T06:28:20Z

This was such a cool experience! Unfortunately I ended up getting quite lost at the start and found those narrow angled corridors pretty annoying. Despite this I was still enthralled and am still left wanting more! Wish we could have seen more of the introspect mode as there is a ton of opportunity within that mechanic. Awesome work though, very well done!

Nix by slagathor 2019-10-09T03:20:54Z

Very neat game, everything is well rounded and polished off! Had quite a lot of fun playing!

Medieval Mayhem by itsTripp 2019-10-08T05:52:17Z

Even though the game is quite clunky, good work on seeing it through to the end and submitting. Its quite unfortunate how some of your team couldn't contribute as much due to life throwing curve balls but hopefully you all learned some stuff during game jam and will make a comeback in the next one!

ReFormer by yokuday 2019-10-08T05:26:47Z

Wasn't too sure what was going on at first, built a tower on the far left and then got instantly killed by an enemy. However after figuring out how the game worked I had a really good time! I loved the idea of unpacking multiple platforms on top of one another to make strategic towers for your allies. Great work!

Nun in the Chamber by BrokenMirrorMedia 2019-10-08T05:14:11Z

After dying about ten or so times on the first level, finally got the hang of it! This game is very hard and even after getting better its still quite challenging. Overall this is a really well polished game! Awesome job!

LD46 — Keep it alive

The Dumb Kid's Job by Yvanor 2020-04-24T09:30:06Z

Nicely stylized game! Im a fan of the mixing 2d and 3d, though I wish there was a way to change move the camera around. The story added a lot to the experience and I recon adding music would have pushed it above and beyond! Regardless, I really enjoyed this game, awesome work!

MAKE A WISH - A Star Journey by MAYFury 2020-04-24T08:16:11Z

I absolutely love small game experiences like this! The co-op part is very cool and add a lot of significance. I have no real gripes other than I wish more people would play since it really adds to the experience! Amazing work guys!

LAST HUMAN by GuitarBro 2020-04-24T08:44:11Z

One of the most polished games by far! Everything from the graphics, to sound, to the procedural levels is on point! My only gripe would be that I didn't quite know how some mods affected my character so a short description for each mod would definitely help. Apart from that, I absolutely love this! Look into developing this further, I think its a winner!

For Ducks' Sake by GaryS 2020-04-24T08:29:08Z

Managed to survive ~1:40. Simple idea but well executed! Having a brood to look after really mixes things up, so good work on keeping it fresh!

I didn't quite like the 8 directional aiming as it felt a bit off when using a mouse, it felt like a lack the precision. However I do understand the retro theme and how 8 directional aim fits in, its just more a personal preference.

Despite my picky gripe, I really enjoyed playing this game! A very solid entry, awesome work!

Into the Woods by DJN 2020-04-21T10:59:08Z

A simple game but very well executed! I played quite a few times but just couldn't find the third note. I might play this a bit later and see if I can find it though.

Apart from issues with selecting items to craft, this was a very suspenseful game and a really cool experience overall! Awesome work!

Get the Barky Started by Sibi 2020-04-24T22:24:54Z

Originally wanted to do "keep the party alive" but had no idea how to go about it. I makes me happy to see someone pull it off! I really enjoyed the game and thought the different types of music in each room was a real nice touch! Unfortunately the game seemed quite short and would have greatly benefited by having more levels. Regardless, I had a blast playing, great work!

Hope by Darylsteak 2020-04-23T09:21:34Z

Great game! Loved the pixel art!! One thing I found annoying however was that zombies sort of 'flew' in your direction when falling. It made it pretty hard to get parts the final puzzle on the fuel station. Other than that, this was an amazing effort! Good art, good puzzles and a pretty good story too!

The Empty Cone by Acr515 2020-04-25T04:23:06Z

Very fun game! The first demon attack was hilarious haha. I thought I had everything sorted by the 3rd day but those purple demons were really tanky! I thought it ramped up in difficulty way too fast there. I also found that most of the time the dropouts dont get too much to do early on since the server will beat them to an order, fill that order and then beat them to the next customer again and so on!

Apart from those things (which are just minor gripes at best), I really enjoyed playing! Awesome work team!

Arrhythmia by Bodaciouslycrazy 2020-04-24T22:37:57Z

Such a cool mechanic! Its quite rare to find such a unique experience like this. I found at times double tapping space to throw was a little janky when trying to beat the heart faster to run away and so I ended up throwing bottles on accident. However I do understand adding an extra button to throw would take away from the experience of beating the heart. Apart from that one gripe I absolutely enjoyed this game! Awesome work team!

BEARable apples by FlyingKiwi 2020-04-21T09:51:36Z

Nice game! Simple and easy to understand and the art is very much pleasing to look at! The platforming felt quite floaty but other than that it was an enjoyable experience, great work team!

Save Me! by BankSho 2020-04-21T10:27:28Z

A good entry for your second ludum dare! At first I thought I couldn't change weapons but realized that you had to scroll up for the shotgun and scroll down for the rifle. Also a way to quit back to the menu (or just out of the game) while playing would be a nice addition. Apart from those two things it was still a fun experience! Great work!

Can't Control Cage by Shay Cichocki 2020-04-21T11:16:04Z

A very 'fantas-Nick' game! Loved the humor and the daily nick never failed to crack me up! I would have liked a better indication on how each choice would affect you but apart from that I really enjoyed this experience, awesome work!

Faire L'Amour aux Plantes by Jenny Bourke 2020-04-21T09:35:43Z

Loved the art for this game! Each plants design was a little creepy yet strangely pleasing haha. Quite basic in gameplay but still a fun and whimsical experience! Great job guys!

do not go gently by nsadie 2020-04-25T06:34:31Z

Having the same deck that gets thinned out the more parts you find is a great way to increase the difficulty! This game was well thought out and as a result it ended up being quite challenging while also pulls off the RNG without feeling unfair. Awesome work!

Dragon Keep by Daxic 2020-04-24T22:09:57Z

Brings me back to the good old days of plants vs zombies! Very cool and very challenging! I found it difficult to place traps on squares with people on it, I assume this is because you need to click on the square itself but the people are in the way.' Apart from that, I really enjoyed your game! I recon it could be something worth working further on.

Beat Savior by HKSpadez 2020-04-21T10:13:17Z

Very cool and nice looking game! Having the video for the tutorial was a nice touch and really helped me to understand the mechanics. I dont know if it was just me but I felt as if the timing for shooting was slightly off, perhaps a way for players to adjust the latency could help. Also being able to play to your own music is just icing on the cake!! Awesome work!

Beached by Andre Fremaux 2020-04-23T09:29:53Z

Hey thanks all for the kind words!

@pee-thief @jenny-bourke Thanks for coming back haha, I have a huge list of games to go through and rate so hopefully more people will see my game afterwards.

@baconeta I had a few friends try to speed run my game, so naturally they also suggested I add a timer in! I think a timer is just priority now in game jams hahaha.

@sludgekey Yeah I would have loved to put a skip button in but the intro cut scene was the last thing I did before the submission deadline. Ill definitely keep that in mind as a priority for future jams!

Beached by Andre Fremaux 2020-04-24T10:39:47Z

@gonzako Unfortunately I cant sorry, the game was primarily designed to be only downloadable as there would be a lot of scaling issues with an HTML5 build :frowning2:

Automata by WhatNameGames 2020-04-23T08:48:26Z

Love the graphics and the robot designs for this game!

I found the platforming to be quite janky at times, its mostly due to the slow initial movement followed by the fast acceleration (its especially bad for the tiny robot). I also found myself getting stuck on the raised platforms and vents and would have to jump to be able to move again.

Apart from those two things I liked the staticy background for the intro/outro text and the simple story adds a quite a lot to the game! This is a real solid entry, great work guys!

Anthill Death by hllrm 2020-04-24T09:51:25Z

I had a blast playing this game! I love hectic-ness of going back and forth from my keyboard to mouse. I didnt end up doing very well but managed to get at least one star so ill take it! Awesome work team!

Defend the swarm by Defenestration 2020-04-23T08:57:53Z

A Simple idea but well executed and very fun! The game is lacking instructions at the start but luckily its pretty easy to understand.

I feel the use of some background texture would help with the sensation of moving as I was pretty confused at first thinking that I moved everything around a center point instead of that point itself was moving.

Apart from that one gripe I really enjoyed this game!

Repair-it Roger by somethang123 2020-04-21T10:38:06Z

Congrats on your first Ludum Dare! A simple idea but the endless jumping and automatic weapon switching really mix it up! I found the mini map to be quite useful but would have liked a better indication on where enemies are coming from. A count down to when your weapon will switch would be a nice addition but apart from those few things, it was still fun to play! Good luck for future game jams!

JAFLL (Just A Frozen Lost Lumberjack) by PaoloGinefra 2020-04-24T10:03:29Z

Very nice! I liked the idea of keeping the fire alive. I found it quite hard though as the hypothermia bar filled up quite fast. I did also have an issue with jumping, it seem that your jumping code only works when the play is on the ground, this made it an issue when I ended up getting stuck on logs or the slay. Apart from those I really enjoyed you game! Great work!

Keep `em alive! by SimanSimon 2020-04-24T09:15:46Z

I like the idea of this game, the mechanics are very intricate and the gameplay is quite challenging!

Unfortunately I found that I was overwhelmed from even before the game loaded, the big wall of instructions and specific details were quite a lot to get through before playing. And once the game loaded, was still overwhelmed due to the size of the game map! (Zooming out did help but still)

I feel to help this game reach its full potential either it needs to be simplified or have the mechanics brought in gradually to help ease the player into it all.

This is an ambitious and very well thought out game. I really enjoyed playing and I think you are onto something great here!

Botanist Blitz by BrokenCogGames 2020-04-23T08:30:24Z

Great game! Unfortunately I couldn't beat the second to last level, its was just too hard. Other than that I have no other gripes, its a very solid entry! Awesome work team!
