Oof, that was a biiig download. Great submission anyways!

mattdotam 2019-10-08 03:45

I think the combination of lighting and sound nailed the mood for the game. As promised, I got to dispatch with skeletons and two-headed pooches. You pulled it together and still produced a working game. I hope you had fun doing so. Good job!

For the record, not put in the top. We're all students who graduated Game Design the Friday this started so we're really fresh. 3/4 team members unfortunately had life happen unexpectedly so could not be as big of a part as we had hoped. I was honestly hoping nobody would play this and personally didn't even want to submit. It's painful, the more I play the more I see things I wish I had time to get to. Also, other than Store Assets, all code and other things were made from scratch as we don't really have libraries built up enough to pull from.

aden 2019-10-08 05:24

A little big of a game and it might move some people to the next game, but it was great.

andre-fremaux 2019-10-08 05:52

Even though the game is quite clunky, good work on seeing it through to the end and submitting. Its quite unfortunate how some of your team couldn't contribute as much due to life throwing curve balls but hopefully you all learned some stuff during game jam and will make a comeback in the next one!

roberto-romao 2019-10-08 05:53

The game is clunk but is fun. @drjeebus don`t be so hard on yourself! :) You have to make some bad games before start to make good ones, and this one is not that bad for a Jam entry! Gj to u guys!

geoff-nagy 2019-10-08 06:29

The audio and graphics were very well done! This set the mood of the game very effectively. There was a little bit of glitchiness at times (I believe I clipped through a wall and fell forever, once), but this wasn't a deal-breaker. Well done!

pierre-feuille-studio 2019-10-08 06:40

Reminds me of my too ambitious projects of my student days! Seems like you had too much on your plate but you made a good run for it! Curious to see what you can do next time!

About beige, it’s a brilliant level design from the genius of our Kojima (no))) I disassembled all the skeletons, zenocidyl all the hellish dogs, it’s a pity that the game has no ending)

yokuday 2019-10-08 08:46

The controls are sooo good. And the mood is immersive. Overall great submission

graphicedit 2019-10-08 09:56

Yes... Very nice, I liked playing it...

yaroslav-kravtsov 2019-10-08 10:36

@drjeebus it's okay than not each time you make exactly what you planned. I participate with my students in Ludum Dare not for victory, but for collecting fails that we can use to learn.

nachtwitch 2019-10-09 00:30

Awesome game, loved the style and gameplay

idontknow 2019-10-09 00:40

Definitely feels a bit overambitious, but it still looks pretty good for being done over just a weekend, with major setbacks even. I'd pay attention to a full project like this. We need more first-person skeleton punchers in the world.

raphiell 2019-10-09 00:44

It felt really cool to run around exploring the area. Felt very doom-y. I found that some guidance at the start of the game would help, I wasn't sure what to do.

inusun 2019-10-09 00:56

Game seemed interesting. Loved the skeleton and its animation. Wish you guys could have gotten more done.

don-fouts 2019-10-09 01:26

Nice job following through to the end. Every time my team participates we get a little better. I hope you stick with it and submit another project for the next jam!

ryuu 2019-10-09 03:31

It's impressive to see how much you have done even with the problems the team appears to be through.

I don't know if it's only on my computer, but the mouse sensitivity were too high and the fps were dropping frequently... also, how do you pick up an weapon? I did it one time but on accident haha

I managed to slash enemies and reach the end! Good job to everyone involved!

plazmaz 2019-10-09 04:28

Yeah, you can tell you weren't able to get everything you wanted in there. It's a cool start though, the level layouts remind me a lot of earlier FPS games like doom

ben-ash 2019-10-09 18:37

Really ambitious! Don't beat yourself over seeing things you didn't have time to fix, 72 hours is not a lot of time for most things! Technical issues aside it had a great atmosphere and you should be proud to have submitted something that works. :)

dominas 2019-10-09 18:45

The Dark Souls of Ludum Dare. Very good mood created with badass voiceover and spooky ambience. Nice level design, fast movement and hilarious jump. Ambitious submission, but ideas are solid.

jharler 2019-10-09 20:01

Looks like a lot of work went into this one! Great atmosphere. I did encounter some enemies going into the walls. It was kinda funny to watch the two headed dog run into the wall, literally. Nice work!

frederikh 2019-10-13 12:17

I liked the level layout and design - reminded me of older UT-titles. I hope you'll find the time to improve upon the build when all members have more time :)

philomory 2019-10-14 03:29

It looked really nice, but was unplayable for me; the mouse look was at the same time both hyper-sensitive and also extremely laggy. Maybe my machine just isn't up to it, as few of the other commenters seem to have encountered that problem.
