Great use of theme! I'd like to see this concept expanded into a bigger game for sure.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD51 → Destroy Blocks

Interesting game, I'm curious about which ideas you have for the multiplayer mode ! Good job
Thanks zoglu. I had multiplayer done before the graphics. But couldn't make time to make the GUI/Buttons/Menu for the room selection. So I removed the option. Basically multiplayer was turn based. If you didn't make a move within 10 seconds the other player(s) would win.
Really fun, well done. Simple but makes you want to play more.
I love tetris, so it was fun playing your game haha.
You could have tried to align the pieces your moving with the cursor, and prevent them from being masked by the box. The colour was very dull, as were the audio. Formatting the html page would have been nice as you didnt embed your game on here which would have done it for you. Its like a worse version of tetris.
thank you for the feedback @thegamearchitect . As I was not using a game engine lots of things needed to be made by myself. But good points that I can work on to improve.
Great job! I like the idea, the music (especially the funny sound of losing and winning :) ). The multiplayer idea sounds great! I noticed a strange bug - in order to count a row, it is not necessary to use the last column - it will count even if it is empty there. I think it's worth fixing (compo rules seem to allow this) I would also be happy to have an endless mode with points - I would play for a sooooo long time :)
Cool take on the theme and a classic principle. Nice consistent style! MP sounds intersting. Great job!
Solid game and kept me busy for a good while. I might be just bad at the game but I found it really hard to clear more than 3-4 lines without being able to rotate the pieces. I really like the idea of a modular tetris where you can place pieces where you want. Its a good idea and fit the theme pretty well. Good Job.
I really like puzzles so I had a ton of fun playing this. Dug the graphics and really dug the sound effects - would have liked a few more (for stuff like clearing lines). Same with the music it'd be cool if the loop went for a bit longer / it was a bit more hashed out.
Changing the music when you get closer to winning is cool. Hearing the 'Yippie!' at the end made playing through to the end completely worth it.
Dragged blocks could be in other colour so you could see where it is. Nice little game
@dfyzet : Good catch! I replayed it to check it out .. well at least you didn't lose ...
Y I P P I E My first two attempts were losses, I only came through on the third one. It was very engaging, I immediately restarted each time and was very immersed in getting those 10 rows. Very fun gameplay, would have been amazing to see it in multiplayer too. But great job either way!
This was fun. Every time I lose, I want to try again to beat it (and I did, yay!). Clean interface. I would have liked a counter for the destroyed rows. When dragging short blocks over other blocks, it's sometimes hard to see where the dragged block is.
This is innovative! The concept is well executed with nice tension. It takes me some time to figure out that the blocks cannot rotate. But I beat the game in the end and is not a loser anymore. Haha
What will be in multiplayer mode?
Interesting game! nice entry for the theme:)
@xpycm : multiplayer mode will be that each player has 10 seconds to make a move. If one of them can't make the move the others will win. The mechanics for multiplayer were done, but unfortunately I didn't had time to make the same GUI/Buttons. I didn't want to have the crappy - programmer - code mixed with the other graphics of the game. So I will need to make button generator for the rooms that player can create / join. I tend to do only 48compo and there was no more time left. Once again I put too much time in a multiplayer version to end up not delivering up on it. ... but there is always a next LD where I can re-attempt. Thanks for the feedback!
Yippee! \o/ haha ^^ great idea I like it a lot
pretty interesting twist on tetris!
Yooo, I thought winning was going to be a piece of cake but boy was I wrong. Really fun game! And I think it's JUST the right difficulty to keep it interesting and not frustrating. Cute song but it gets a bit repetitive over time. I love how you managed to make a very compelling game with such a simple idea. I think that's exactly what game jams are about, and what I always fail at :D Great job at scope management!
Very nice! There's a small mismatch between the mouse pointer and the blocks, making it a bit hard to place them in small holes. Other than that, a very enjoyable game! Wish there was some sort of endless mode with scores :D
It's just so addictive. I've underestimated it. 10/10 we can close ld here is the winner
Looove different takes on Tetris, and this is a great idea. Really loved it, plus the sound design was great and artstyle made it easy to follow. Only thing is I had a discrepancy between where my mouse cursor was and the block, but I got used to it really fast. Great job!
YIIPEEEE ~ lmao, great work! Those are some speedy coding hands, and they paid off big time. The 10 seconds somehow gives a perfect stress balancer.
I love that you took Tetris and changed it up! I could see this being expanded into a mobile game. I would like to try the multiplayer version - could you possibly release it as a post jam version? I believe you can link to it as long as you leave a disclaimer that it's not your official entry. It sounds like you put a lot of work into it! The music was soothing and fit the puzzler mood. Nicely done!
@pixelydian : I have thought about it, but I don't want to mix reviews. If the online player has better feedback it could skew the result and feedback of the solo one. But I'm definetly going to make the online version. I have the code ready. all-be-it experimental but it was playable by m.e. and my gf. So I'm thinking of making the link public after judging ends. But thank you for the feed back ! really appreciate it!
Lovely game, feels like a weird version of Tetris. Looks and sounds nice as well.
Only complaint is about the picking up of things. Every time I picked up a block it was moved above my cursor witch was a bit weird for me
@bangthewall : yeah I did that for mobile playment. So that your finger doesn't overlap with the piece. But I couldn't zoom the scene so that it scaled nicely on mobile. I fixed that meantime (offline) for mobile but I would need to check for mobile as well which I found the code for as well. Either way : this will be implemented. Good suggestion/catch on that. Some people seem to be adjusting well to the weird behavior. But I totally agree with your point and will be addressed post-compo. Thanks!
I liked your take on this tetris-like! I only had a problem with the picking and putting of the parts because it was always to high for my cursor
Simple and addictive, and a bit stressful :) just as it should be :D Nice job
nice game!
I like how the 10s timer affects gameplay and forces the occasional bad move. Also had the same selecting of pieces issue as erikenginengineer
Nice and relaxing game. It would have been good if the blocks you place were a slightly different tint than the ones on the board, because the way it is now it's very hard to place blocks when the board is almost full. You can't really see where the block is when your dragging it over other blocks if that makes sense. Anyway, nice game, it would make a nice mobile game post compo :)
I really love the game ! It was challenging and relaxing at the same time !
Interesting tetris concept! A counter to track the number of destroyed rows would be a plus :)
That was fun! Reminds me of a board game called Patchwork. The feeling in this game is a bit different though due to the 10 second rule. I quickly started forming strategies for where I should place certain blocks in the early game.
The only major complaint I have is that the piece moved a lot quicker than my mouse - causing a mismatch between cursor and piece positions. This made it quite hard to position some of the pieces. I also would have liked to see a rotating feature but I can also understand why it was left out - it is a cool constraint after all.
Overall, great work!
Way too addictive puzzle game, impressive! I know I've played a mobile game similar to this but can't remember the name (and I'm not thinking about tetris). Wish I could make columns as well, seems like it fits :)
Great entry!
Nice idea ^^ The 10s limit is tight when you try to make plans X) Good game ^^ If I had something to add, maybe a line cleared counter so that we can know how far we are towards the goal.
Had fun playing, even more so when I got a piece that just fits the one I needed! One idea that popped into my head after playing: each 10 seconds some 'shenanigans' happens (e.g. the whole boards is turned 90 degrees or all blocks are compressed). This a nice solid game by itself, but also one that you can greatly expand on!
Good job!
Interesting take on tetris! Took my brain a little while to stop expecting the blocks to fall. I would add some score next time, so we can compare! Otherwise I think there is a nice potential in this. Maybe you could even make it more interesting by adding some random events into it. Anyway, nice entry!
Very easy to understand and quite satisfactory. I suggest more feedback on line making. Fun a replayable!
A nice spin on classic games that could easily become a new point of reference! While it lacked a bit on polish (and I'd definitely love to see how the multiplayer mode would work 👀), I felt it had the potential for something really cool if you expand upon it. Really cool work!
A really interesting approach to a tetris style game. Simple to pick up and took me a good few tries, which is hard to do. I think the ability to rotate or to see upcoming tiles would be really cool. Otherwise well done!
A nice easy to learn but hard to master game! Really enjoyed this game, I kept wanting to try again and again. Nice work!
Fun stuff, mechanically sound and really satisfying to get everything lined up properly! Really well done. Could be a really relaxing game with a serene soundtrack and some nice bouncy juice
Amazing take on the theme! I really enjoy simplistic game like this! Responsive gameplay, simple/soothing graphics, chill gameplay, even though 10s is not a long time, with this game it still felt like plenty of time! Only downside I can think of is that the music got a bit repetitive. Great submission!
Really nice, simple concept! I would have loved to rotate tiles, but I understand the time constraint. Well done!
Simple and fun game, I loved tetris so this was easy for me to understand and play! Music became a little bit repetative, but only a small gripe :)
Looked really easy from the preview, but it was actually surprisingly difficult! Very easy to understand, and the SFX for completing a row definitely felt satisfying. I did feel as though the music was a little bit repetitive, up until it suddenly changed to a different track! The second track was quite nice— maybe the two tracks could be linked together with some type of transition?
Very innovative, and honestly quite fun too. Since it doesn't overcomplicate stuff, it kinda grabs your attention.
Definitely did not expect that to be as enjoyable as it was. I typically am not a fan of tetranomino's, but this game is definitely a exception to the rule
At first I wasn't sure if I would like this (graphics and music wasn't too enticing). But the gameplay was quite enjoyable and made me try again and again...
This was great! It took me a few tries to get the hang of things, but I finally got it. I like that rows of 10 score, but columns don't, and that made me organize the blocks a certain way. And I love that there's more than one music track! Or at least it sounded like it switched things up after a while. Nice game!
I really enjoyed this! Kind of like a cool alternative to Tetris. I had some trouble with dragging blocks onto the grid, though. They didn't show up exactly under the center of my mouse color, and they looked the same color as the tiles I had already placed. I wasn't always sure where the block I was holding was going to land.
It'd be nice to have both the X and Y axis count to complete a row :)
Grats on a nice compo entry! The game over screen called me a loser :( haha!
As for feedback - it may have been a web build issue, but the cursor didn't match up to where the block was when dragging blocks. I would have liked to be able to rotate the blocks maybe? But I think I am too used to tetris, and tried filling the bottom first - where as in your game I could have filled from anywhere!
I really like the idea, very simple yet very effective. Great music. I didn't like that the blocks had certain rotations, it would be better in my opinion, if it came in random rotation, like you can rotate in tetris, but without ability to rotate.
Cool take on a classic game. Like the simple art style and controls. I definitely need some kind of rotation feature and maybe some different colors for the pieces as it sometimes was hard to see where I can place my next piece.
Fun spin of on popular mobile games, you made it fitting into the theme. Enjoyed playing, my suggestion is to make the block you are placing the different color than the others
Nice submission and with a bit of a tweak to tetris. I missed the rotation of objects though - my brain always had ideas on how to rotate
Good entry ! I tried multiple times but I didn't succeed to win, but I think I was near. It would have been wonderful with a score indicator ! I had a small offset on y axis between my mouse and the piece I was dragging, but that's not a major issue as we see the piece moving. It could be cool if we could rotate pieces. But as always, I guess the time was the limitation, especially if you tried to implement multiplayer ! Congratulations for this cool and relaxing puzzle game.
A neat take on Tetris. Would have been great if the pieces moved on the point at which I grabbed them and if I could still see the grabbed piece when it overlapped existing pieces (maybe when placed they could have a slightly darker color).
Verry good puzzle game , love the simplicity of the game and the difficulty of making it just alone# great work.
Even though it's a simple concept, this was really fun and addicting! Nice job!
More difficult than I expected but still very fun to play! Nice Game! (:
Great idea! I do wish there was a way to rotate pieces, and that when dragging pieces they stayed under the cursor where you picked them up. Nice work!
Hey, thanks for making the game! I played through it and recorded my thoughts.

AWESOME review @Vykri. Thank you very much. All of the issues you commented on were very valid. I am aligned with all of them and will attempt to implement them in a post-ludum-dare. Thank you for making the youtube video!!! The advice for doing more stuff is appreciated and game modes are definitely on my radar.
Sorry it took me so long to get back to your game! The sounds got a bit repetitive after playing for even a little however it was pretty fun. I wish you could rotate pieces though!
Overall, well done!
What a good entry! I really liked the mechanic and think with some work you could keep going on this for a full release  keep on making games!
