Yo nice Game! Audio's pretty cool and the art style is great!
Really enjoyed the simplicity and very much love the color pallete.
thank you @subsage . yah the pallete is from https://lospec.com/palette-list/fiery-plague-gb
fun pixel art game. great use of the theme. I really enjoyed it but at some point I didn't get more enemies and got stuck. Overall, nice entry. congrats.
i love the subtle parallax and the palette. one tip i'd give is mix up the sword swings, they got pretty grating by the end. nice work!
Simple but nicely done! Would have a been great to have a bit more juice in some places though
Very stylish game - consistent art and animations. The game itself was a bit too hard for my taste. I've survived for only a couple of waves.
Beautiful art and animations and good music to match. It would be nice if the player could move and attack at the same time, it felt a little awkward to stop attacking to adjust my position so that I could hit enemies.
Really enjoyed this. Its definitely difficult but it looks amazing. I struggled a bit even once I got used to the controls, so maybe a little slower on the difficulty ramp? I'd also really like some kind of dodge move for when I get myself in a pickle, but that would probably be less useful once the space starts to get small. The audio also fit the game really well, so great work all around.
Fun little game! I like the art and the sound and the sword swing animation. I appreciate that you're given a ranged attack and are encouraged to use it given a max arrow stack, you don't see that too often. I like how the theme was implemented with the stage getting narrower. I feel like you could have made it a bit more challenging with more enemies spawning in the later waves and smaller arena, but fun game overall!
Cool game, liked the art, music, responsive controls. Control keys might be a bit not so comfortable, but after a few runs I got used to it. Maybe to jump on space would be more natural than on K.The arrow drops might be inconsistent, sometimes they drop fine, sometimes you ran out of them and stuck on melee weapon. Also sometimes when I hit enemy first (there was no attack animation from the enemy yet) I still get hit like it was, but just without proper animation. Also I think the same happens when I kill an enemy, I see his dead body, but still receive a hit and lose hp. Also sometimes in the start of the game on this page, when I left click from outside the play area and press few buttons, like jump or attack the player got stuck and enemies can't deal damage image_2023-10-04_100257392.png
@dsfan thanks for the great feedback. yah, since u mention that. i totally forgot to disable the hit-area check once the enemy is dead while attacking to player  and for the last issue - before uploading the game, i was implementing the pause/resume functionality on clicking the outside of the game-area and text 'paused' is missing aswell  lesson learned. it might be coz. of that incomplete functionality we see that bug in the game. i'll keep that in mind. thanks for playing and QA testing. really appreciate it
Decent concept. I like the artstyle and the sprites are well-animated, but I'd say my overall gripe with this one is the pacing. On one hand, enemies move and attack pretty quickly to the point where everything looks too fast, but then after I kill a few, there are sometimes these long periods of dead air while I wait for more to spawn. It doesn't seem like there's much I can do to kill the enemies without taking damage if I don't have arrows because they attack so quickly and sporadically. I can try to jump over them to dodge, but they can always hit me anyway. It feels like taking damage is guaranteed at some point. The short loop for the music also gets a little grating. Making it more quiet and/or low-key so that it serves as a break from the game's sound effects can be a good way to break it up so that it's not just the same 4-second loop nonstop (without making the track itself longer).
@dovodx It's really hard to find an honest feedback. I really appreciate it. Sometimes there's a long periods gap for enemies to spawn isn't it - yah, i also noticed that recently  It might be because of the wait-timer i was creating that responds to the delta-time. For the second issue, i agree with you. I should have made a more balancing hit and attack ratio to the enemy while keeping the weapons in check all round  And for the sound loop, i'll keep that in mind for the next game jam, thanks. yep, lesson learned and again thanks for playing and giving an honest feedback.
Nice concept, really amazing artwork, the parallax background was a nice touch (although it could of used like 1 more layer). Either way congratulations on the game!
My record was 27. I think I got the hang of combat, but I found I was often getting killed from glitchy behaviour. The arrows often didn't hit enemies, and sometimes I got hit by enemy hitboxes which weren't actually there. I also sometimes fell off the screen, or knocked enemies off the screen, which softlocked the game. I liked the art style and animations, and the really wide frame for the game was a cool idea.
Simple concept but very tricky to master! Admittedly, I wish my sword had a bigger damage area like the enemies, but maybe I'm just not very good at this kind of game; I could only get to 18 kills. Good work!
Love these simple arcadey games. Very cool game, I wanted to get better and better! It would be cool if there was a little more "weight" to your attacks to help spice up the gameplay. Particles, screen flash, that sort of thing. Great work!
很棒的游戏,美术风格很好,但我一直期望能捡起敌人的武器,当我发现我不能以后我非常沮丧。
Amazing action and Rich content, but not very fit the theme,i mean it seems too universal.
simple and addictive concept, love the art style. well polished controls.
Simple concept yet captivating, unfortunately sometimes the enemies don't spawn at all, had to restart the game.
Liked the simplicity of the game! Controls are a bit unusual if I'm being honest, but liked how easy it was to understand the game! Animations are amazing and polished, well done :)
Screenshot 2023-10-05 121546.png Yay I finally did it! Took me some time to get used to the very short melee attack range and the fact that you can't shoot enemies while they are in their attack animation. The pixelart is very nice, all animations are very fluid. It is already a hard game, but I think that the enemies are "stunned" too long after I hit them with an arrow. With the strategy: arrow for the stun -> melee -> melee, I could defeat enemies one by one without having to jump around or run away.
Super fun! The graphics and the colors are very nice and do their job well. Animations play well. The music and sfx are also quite peasant and fitting. The attack "yaaa" is especially juicy  Generally, everything feels pretty polished.
The end screen seems to have some lack of consequence in the number of kills. It showed me that I did 35 and 31 kills.

I died so quickly haha but the game is fun! The dark colors make difficult to see but overall good game! Love the animation of characters & the song!
Not much to say here: pretty good!
@boxedmeatrevolution "...and sometimes I got hit by enemy hitboxes which weren’t actually there" -> yah just recently found out about this bug  i forgot to disable the hit-area check once the enemy is dead while attacking to player. And for other issue "...sometimes fell off the screen, or knocked enemies off the screen" -> since i was using simple AABB collision and because of the overlap must have caused tunneling issue  I'll keep that in mind and fix that later in the git repo. Thanks for taking a time to to play and providing a really helpful feedback.
@picross adding a little more “weight” to the attacks will really help boost the gameplay. Thanks for the idea. I'll definitely be adding that in the future games. Loved the idea. :v:
@bucharlardy yes, the ability to pickup enemy weapons would have spice up the gameplay. Why didn't i thought about it :bulb: . I'll be adding that soon in the future games. Thank you.
@supersayafynn yah i should have made the player able to attack while moving and jumping. That would have change the game outcome drastically :bulb: . And thanks for playing and being the first one to win all the waves. :sunglasses:
@fabula-rasa yep that's definitely a bug  I'll fix and commit that in the main github repo. Thanks for the great feedback
Like the art and graphics style and also the music. Really cool atmosphere, also pushed by the film roll style border. But the game is really tough and feels a little monotonous (or maybe I did not come far enough).
It really fun and geniunly I enjoyed playing this
I love this style of pixel art and your execution. Especially those animations! I do wish you had done more around the theme, like having the floor give way and rise in pillars forcing you to jump between them while continuing to fight for instance. Still had fun as is! You should flush it out some more, lots of great feedback in your comments :)
Nice art and atmosphere, simple but fun. I was stuck waiting for enemies to spawn a little too often and I think you could have done more with the theme. As it stands the level getting smaller doesn't add or detract a whole lot from the gameplay. I was also sad when it ended, would have been nice to loop with higher difficulty and maybe a better weapon or something.
Really good! simple and fun. I like how the stage gets smaller and smaller. I did manage to break the game at one point, probably by trying to jump when the level was loading. I could not move anymore and enemies could not hit me.
It's a bit awkward how the attacks easily push enemies out of attack range, but once you figure out the timing it's pretty satisfying to "kite" the enemies.
The pixel art looks very nice and simplistic. Maybe you could give the player a more distinct color, I confused an enemy for the player once
@pen-island-games liked that idea. i'm gonna use that in future games. Thanks. :ok_hand:
@raaph yah there is a bug on enemies spawn timer  Thanks for really awesome feedback.
@javid-ladhani there is a collision tunneling issue in this game. so, it might be that causing the issue. I'll keep that in mind for future changes and the next game jam.
@hilkojj yah i totally agree with u, i think adding a white outline to the player at a certain threshold would have made it more easy to distinguish. :ballot_box_with_check:
Nice artstyle and mood, for some reason the controls don't work for me but it can be a problem with my browser
Good concept and sprite work. Also, is it just me or the game has no sound at all? If there is not, this game totally needs some.
very cool! the only nitpick i have is that the limited space mechanic didn't have much impact on the game, at least if you die as fast as i do xD
Good concept ! I agree that the player could have a distinct color, but it was fun :3
A very good game with interesting gameplay and interesting fighting mechanics, my record is 35 kills. I wish you continued success
Really cool concept and execution, at first I was afraid it would be too difficult but I beat it on my 3rd try. The base is really solid and there are so many ways you could expand on it, with upgrades (I wish the blade's range was larger!!), pickups and such. Nice job!
Nice hack and slash game, I can clearly the limited space. Too bad the combo require manual positioning making it less fun to create.
The second one where my arrow ran out and I couldn't get another shipment. The music got repetitive quickly. I've played some similar games. But there is a lack of balance here, it is very difficult in the first phase..
Loved the aspect ratio, amazing art style and incredibly fluid animations. It feels great to move around and attack - and in my humble opinion a game feeling good to control / play's incredibly important.
I wasn't very good but kept going back for more :D I'm pretty lazy though and wish I could have restarted without having to reach for my mouse.
Liked the arcade-y music and the sound effects. On that note would have liked a sound effect when enemies land a hit.
@lincolnsalles thanks for the super helpful feedback. I'll try balancing the difficulty level and the usage of the weapons for the future games. thanks
@thaprofesional thanks for the super awesome feedback
Cool concept. great job with the movement. It'd be cool to have more knockback with the sword and arrows ,if the enemy is taking more than one hit to kill.
I couldn't survive beyond the 2nd wave
Screenshot 2023-10-11 004609.png
interesting idea for the theme, I had a hard time with the controls but that's a me problem haha
Simple but fun game! I like the inclusion of a different enemy types and the limited arrow system. The animations are awesome, though I did find it the hitbox for your attacks to be a little small, especially since you can't move during attacks. It definitely gets hectic once there's a ton of enemies (leading to jumping around the screen like a madman) - it's a simple implementation of the theme but very effective! I do agree with others that the controls are a bit difficult to get a handle on at firt, but once you get used to them it's a fun arcade-y time. Nice work!
The presentation here is very good but like some others I had trouble with the controls and often pressed the wrong keys on the right-hand side. Maybe using shift and space or other more strongly distinct keys would have worked better? I could have gotten used to them over time I think, but for a jam game there's not a lot of time to do that.
The art style is great but like others mentioned the untraditional controls kinda messed with me.
Pretty neat game. Great art, and combat feals good, but controlls are wird.
