cute art style! kinda reminds me of parappa the rapper. nicely done!
Cute art. I didn't know about Game Maker having a 2.5 D version. What did you think of it?
@candlesan you had could always make 3D with game maker, it's a bit difficult but the engine can do, game maker 8.0 (old version) had a lot of 3D fonction and effect, in game maker studio 1 they reduced them and focus only on 2D, and in game maker studio 2 you need to work with vertex etc and develop your own fonctions but the engine can do. It's like construct 3, it's a "oriented 2D engine" but you can do 3D with. Finally the lot of game engine work with 3D because all modern GPU work better only in 3D, this is just a choice to limit in the 2D or not but the rendering is 3D (i suppose). DragoniteSpam (on youtube) have made a lot of video on game maker and 3D if you want to see about that. So it's not a 2,5D version, you just choose what you want to send to GPU for rendering :), if you use classic draw_sprite the engine just render the sprite on a layer, if you send directly vertex with z coordonate you can display complex models etc... just change the camera orientation and waouh finally all its in 3D !
Nice work! Enjoyed the music, and gameplay was fun for a prototype. Pretty simple, but was great to see the hunter bushes trying to steal the tiny's so you give them a whack!
@furtive-pygmy thanks, i had not the "force" to rebuilt my graphics the second day so i just published my prototype and add few sounds and music to make it playable. I'm happy if you have found that funny ;)
I like this stile and music!
Nice little prototype, the placeholder art would work as a style with some polish, I like the animations
This is very neat! The drawings are cute, and it's very satisfying to punch the bushes away from the poor tinies. I had to play a second time to make sure I could save all three.
Cool game! I'm getting late 90's/early 2000's vibes from it. Always interesting to see 2D sprites in 3D space.
I did want to click to start though, and it took me a second to realize you had to use the arrow keys and press enter.
cute little game about protecting tiny creatures. I definitely see more potential if there were different creatures you had to protect that wanted different food and you had to manage all that while protecting them well done!
This game was really charming! The camera at times was a little bit weird but I enjoyed the controls, and the art style was really well done!
It's a cute game! When I first played, I thought there was only one little animal to protect, haha
It's cute! I definitely thought the little moles were the hunters until one got grabbed by a bush.
Interesting 2.5D game! I didn't noticed how 2 tiny creatures got stolen, so I focused on remained one and clubbed all hunters lurking around. Second action (carry) didn't found much place in my play, may be I should carry them from the start so they sit together. I don't know if food is needed for tiny creatures to survive; If so, there could be many possibilities, like, tree gives limited number of acorns and acorns need to be planted to give new trees. Wish you good luck!

I smacked all of the hunters. Pretty relaxing!
This is super cute! I love the art and the little guys, I was so surprised when I saw one getting dragged away by a bush in the background!
@gdman yes food is needed, when they lose too much the icons on their head change to broken heart and finally they disapeear. The tree are also limited nuts, and when the model change with no point on it's empty ! At the beginning of my little test they decresed too speedly, so it's maybe slow now ^^, but the main threat are the hunters, because they take them and move speedly to the left or the right of the area. And yes creating things like plant new tree etc is really a good amelioration ^^, thanks for your test !
@tad-i-guess Be aware of the bush ! Like in real life 😄
I love mixed 2D and 3D, and you made it work well! I had a laugh when I noticed one tiny pet was missing and saw a bush running away with it in the background. In the end I saved 2 on 3. Nice entry!
Gj using GameMaker to create this! The cute art style and impressive 2.5D implementation really shine. The gameplay is fun, especially protecting the tiny creatures from hunters, and it has a lot of potential for future improvements. It's quite impressive what you've managed to pull off with this engine!
I love the colorful environment in this game, especially the groundwork — a combination of abstraction and realism. I wasn't able to release tiny's from the hunter-bushes, but did learn how to feed and protect some of the tiny's. The music is simple but catching, and it fits the mood of the game very well. A lot of potential in this entry.
It felt refreshing with that colorful ground mixed with the 2D. I had fun tending to my little creature with food, and not let him get kidnapped by the bushmonster
I really like the style! Good job!
Cool idea!
Really cool graphics, smooth controls, easy to grasp game play, and pretty chaotic backing music. Had a lot of fun playing and found it really chill.
I like the 2.5D nature of it. Easy to figure out, i could see how it could be expanded into something pretty fun. Nice work!
Bravo ++
