Fun game but sometimes Instead of following the road he would turn around when I didn't hit any keys. Also really good song!
I'm not sure exactly what is going on in the controls, I tried to use the arrow keys as instructed but it would not really do anything in my game. I do appreciate the art style and very innovative way you implemented the player's movement behavior and AI.
The controls are quite difficult to get into, I agree. I recommend pressing the buttons in advance, as the game will remember what direction you press and will turn at the next possible junction. So if you press LEFT, the player will choose the left path (if there is one) at the first opportunity.
The GUI on top kind of confused me a couple of times. I was lead to believe that there were items on the top road, when it was just the icon in the UI. Apart from that a nice, very replayable game. Well done!
The numbers at the top were confusing and the controls took a while to get the hang of but it was fun when I got into it! Good job!
Fun game and works as intended. Has a nice rhythm to it once you get the controls down.
It's a fun game! Took me some time to get used to the controls timing but after that it was a solid experience! Great job!
Nice fast paced arcade-like game. Possibly some progression of the difficulty, like starting off with a smaller map with less deliveries, could help with the onboarding, but overall nice job!
I like the gameplay. When it starts to speed up it gets quite stressful. I really appreciate that you buffer the input ahead of the intersection so I don't have to push the button at the exact time but rather you remember which direction I've instructed and let the car take the turn as soon as it gets to the intersection. This made it feel arcady but still a positive experience as the game sped up.
This is fun and well executed. You really have to think fast while playing. Good job.
Very fun! However, it was a bit hard to control, but in general it was a very fun game!
My high score was 27. Pretty fun, would be nice to get some time bonus for each delivery.
Dug the music and it looks really slick. Had fun playing found it and challenging as it sped up / got towards the end.
One thing I would have loved was audio queues when picking up or delivering food.
@triangle-point Incredible that you actually liked the song - it was the first time I ever "composed" anything, and I just clicked buttons until it somewhat resembled the melody I had in my head. I showed the game to a friend who is a music teacher and the first thing he did was mute the game...
@kent-lizardo @brandon-campbell @cantthinkofaname Yes, the controls are quite fuzzy and unintuitive. It definitely is something to fix as soon as possible if I want to continue on this game.
@trakina @tom-cumpsty The UI was supposed to be more distant from the top roads. I had to move it down after finding out I used the wrong resolution when creating the game, and they rendered too far outside. I probably should've used a different bubble color for the UI too but I didn't think about that.
@partysquadmember @adrieldf I'm happy you liked the game!
@squidgod I thought of that too, but the time frame of the jam was definitely too short to implement more than one map. Even this map is quite bland, I wish I had time to add any buildings or scenery.
@candlesan Gald you like it! The input buffering is inspired by Pac-Man (the whole map is aimed to be some kind of "Pac-Man with curved paths").
@kgurniak91 Bonus time for successful deliveries is actually a really good idea, should've thought of that. Well, you can't think of everything...
@thaprofesional Audio cues were planned, but I did not have time to add any good sfx except for a classical "beep", which I don't really like as you can hear it in every second LD game. Not that they are bad, but they simply don't feel unique and do not fit the game either.
Thank you all for playing the game and for the constructive feedback!
that's fun and complete. The moving is not intuitive at first but that is what's interesting about the game. Optimizing the path is really addictive. Maybe it could be a bit longer (2min or 2m30) Also the speed up is good! Love also road passing on other like bridges. Good game!
fun game. I like the movement of the character, feels really good. Very solid entry!
Good game design, simple to control but require some timing and route planing. Music are so good for the scene, it makes me feel like a real rider on the way. Well done!
I enjoyed the level design both how it looked and played. I think you could have fun generating or building those. It took a bit to get used to the controls for me but it was a good blend of luck and skill.
Would have liked some more sound effects, but a fun idea nonetheless!
Nice game! It was a little hard to control for me (car goes fast), but I like the concept and it was fun. Music is nice, too. GG!
Nice! The music helped me get into the rhythm. Maybe could try highlighting the upcoming road intersection, to make it easier for the player to react?
I had problems remembering that I also had to press up and down, and not just left and right relative to the courier, but anyway, it's a really nice game!
The popups make it kinda hard to figure out where to go, sometimes, but the idea is really solid. The movement along the roads seem really smooth.
Took a bit of time to get used to at start (turning could be easier if it was a hold input check versus a press), but a cool lil concept, enjoyed my time with it, cheers!
Neat audio and graphics. I appreciate the detail that the vehicle tilts a little when turning. Quite an enjoyable game. At first I had some problems to get used to the controls. Also, the icons might be a bit too intrusive and sometimes obstruct the view. However, it is a great entry overall! :D
The graphics are pretty cool. The smooth riding through the squiggly roads was nice! I would have appreciated a fullscreen support, but zoom helped. Nice stuff!
