Nice commando game. Good controls. Didn't realize at first there was double jump but it made sense for the level design once I figured it out. If I could give one piece of feedback, it's a bit hard to tell the difference between foreground tiles (that block movement) and background tiles) that don't block movement). There's a bit of color shift in the tiles so it's possible to learn, but it wasn't totally clear as I was playing which walls would block my movement and which would not.

Had a lot of fun playing through this reminded me of the old dos platformers. Dug the graphics, music was great, and the effects when firing the gun made it feel pretty weighty and cool.

Only feedback I have is I would have liked some feedback when shots connected with enemies - maybe a sound or something I'm not sure. Some of them took multiple hits so at times I worried I wasn't achieving anything until they disappeared.

As opposed to previous commenter, I didn't feel like the shooting sound packed enough of a punch really. It sounded lacklustre and felt like it too as your shots were just tickling those pesky bullet sponge robots to their deaths. Didn't help it either that you could always completely outrange them and make them absolutely trivial.

The mines did get me though so here is a post mortem moonwalk...

At first I thought that they were too invisible but hey, that's exactly what they're supposed to be. The game was just so short that you didn't have enough time to start seeing them properly. Spelunky does this perfectly too. You start off triggering them all the time but learn to see them so clearly after enough runs.

Of course I made it to the end too.

This bit was a bit tricky. As you need to notice that one dim square to get up there. The difference between those foreground and background elements could have been a bit more in my opinion. And now that I look at that picture I'm wondering how I managed to get up there without getting hurt as I didn't shoot the first mine before trying to hop up there... 🤔

Of course the sprite tearing and cursor etc flickering wasn't great but wasn't that bad either really. The pixel art looked good and even though the pixel ratio kinda unnaturally grew bigger when going to the background layer, it was still consistent and worked.

Could have used with some more feedback. Like flashing and sound effects of enemies when getting hit and so on. Especially as they (well, the floating one really) were so tanky that you didn't even know if you were hurting them or not. Or even hitting them at all. And the "inaccuracy" or the shots wasn't often the player's fault either.

Shooting could have used like a bullet trace line. Other than just looking good, it also serves a purpose in helping you see if you hit the enemy or if the shot gets clipped by some corner. And it might look better to attach the muzzle flash to the gun so it moves with it. The smoke (if it's separate particles) would make more sense to still emit in world space though.

What a programmer way to call it "mouse button 0". 👌😂 Always a good idea to add a separate jump button (space) as an alternative to jumping with up. Also, of course double jump was necessary level layout wise but didn't really fit in thematically.

Good job! 👍

Really fun game! at first I struggled with some walls I thought I couldn't pass, but after that I enjoyed the session!

Good job!

I emerged victorious.

I really love the pixel art style of this game. Not only the graphics, but the overall color scheme was also very harmonious and attractive! I didn't overlook the attention to detail where the character's graphics subtly change according to the angle when adjusting the direction using the mouse.

Also, the decadent atmosphere of the sound was very captivating.

Victory! Nice game! I really like the music, it was good and fit the mood nicely. The difficulty was balanced- not too easy not too hard - so the game felt satisfying to beat.

I love the art style of this game. The hand-drawn graphics and watercolor-like textures give it a unique and artistic feel

Liked the soundtrack and the art, the gameplay was a bit rough, the movement was very floaty.

This was a solid little platformer. The graphics and music were excellent. The enemies were mostly trivial because of their limited range, but it was still fun to shoot them. I wish the gun fire rate was a little higher and it wasn't obvious that I could double jump. The level design was engaging as well. Nice work.

Despite the title says, the war is over, it's still on there, however we can end it. The right message can deliver the end to any war, let's hope this works some day. Nice sound and the game feels interesting overall. If this were more of a stealth no-shooting consider and don't fall for the traps kind of game, I think though, the whole idea would be even more actual and involving.

@antti-haavikko Is it bad that I paid literally no mind to "Mouse Button 0" in the instructions? I didn't even notice it was off till I read your comment pointing it out!

I liked the cohesiveness of the visuals and audio design, but really found myself wishing for an alternative jump button.

*You're a godsend. A savior!*

*No, I'm... I'm just the Postman.*

I enjoyed the setting and the atmosphere. Good work on the music! Platforming was quite good. Shooting was a little here and there but still serviceable. Those are some juicy looking hearts.
