LD53 — Delivery

Airlivery by Jin9310 2023-05-10T03:52:56Z

Graphics and music work together well to create a cohesive mood. Really, really good.

The font in the HUD looks a little out of place in the middle of all that awesome pixel art. The letters in the game title and the '5' in the package pickup animation are fantastic. I'd love to see a HUD made out of characters like those.

Delivery stations come up often enough relative to drop-off points that I never had to worry about running out of packages. My "packages to deliver" counter climbed steadily throughout the game. If there were fewer delivery stations I'd have one more thing to keep track of while playing - though if you plan to make the scrolling faster, I may start missing more delivery stations.

Return To Sender by Aurailus 2023-05-01T03:31:42Z

The product art is wonderful. By the end I felt like I knew it better than the back of my own hand.

Postominoes by Rawb 2023-05-01T05:16:19Z

It's great how you have to decide whether you'll take your time at the post office packing as many boxes as possible into each trip or you'll pack in a hurry and spend more time driving as a result.

Package physics feels a bit floaty when you're trying to pack boxes close together in the truck, but the floatiness sure makes it fun to toss them out of the truck onto a doorstep.

Time Delivery by Ron88 2023-05-01T16:54:56Z

At the end of every level I thought, "surely by now they've run out of puns", and at the end of every level you proved me wrong.

LD54 — Limited Space

textures_failed_to_load by Yorsh 2023-10-02T21:46:13Z

Genius interpretation of the theme. The untextured states were well done; the switch block's 0 and 1 states were distinct enough that I could still use them before I got their textures, but the enemies looked similar enough that I didn't know which blobs were going to shoot at me and which ones were only dangerous up close. Every texture load managed to be delightfully jarring; "oh *that's* what that thing looks like, I was imagining something completely different".

Blockhead by Fnkee 2023-10-02T22:21:38Z

Turns out Tetris is really fun with platformer mechanics. TIL.

Physics was buggy (but entirely playable); I ended up halfway inside the floor a few times and I'm pretty sure some blocks were overlapping each other at some point. It also feels weird to be able to pull a block out of the bottom of the stack and leave the rest floating there, but I think that's less of a bug and more just the way things work in Tetris.

Grid Island by Hiding.Dev 2023-10-02T23:23:27Z

3750

Impeccable relaxing puzzle game vibes. The water. The other islands off in the distance. The buildings. The building icons in the menu didn't match the feel of the rest of the game, but the buildings themselves were excellent. There were multiple versions of each type! One of my factories was a *windmill*.

Walled In! by Jack728 2023-10-03T00:29:48Z

Fun and quick. Quick enough for one more round! I'm sure I can beat my high score...

*30 minutes later*

2878\. My sore mouse hand would appreciate some sort of autofire.

LD56 — Tiny Creatures

Mini Running Ant by drludos 2024-10-07T00:24:32Z

I thought I knew every Nintendo console.

I was wrong.

High score 264

Creature researcher by notime4games 2024-10-07T00:07:10Z

Let's see, I've got a jetpack now, pretty sure I've seen the entirety of the manageable standard-size platformer map, this is going to be easy.

*holy subterranean labyrinth, batman*

FOREST CLEARING by jefvel 2024-10-07T04:02:06Z

This. Is. Awesome. Upgrade system feels great. It was amazing to one-shot one of the big enemies for the first time.

Tiny Mushy Froggies by BitLuderRb7804Fr 2024-10-07T02:07:51Z

Started playing before reading the description. Figured out there's a power meter and I need to hold the jump button down instead of tapping it. Approached the street, started charging, waited for the right moment to jump.

Screen started shaking. Anticipation started building. JUST HOW FAR CAN THIS FROG JUMP AT FULL POWER?

oh

=D

PocketMen by Brookey1201 2024-10-07T05:35:05Z

There are so many things in the apartment and the pocketmen look so happy sitting in all of them! Incredible amount of content. Very enjoyable.

Would have appreciated some way to know which objects could hold a pocketman. I spent a fair bit of time dropping them in every corner of the screen to see where they'd stick. InsidePocketMan and PoolTablePocketMan were especially tricky.

the Last Leukocyte by bad_fetus 2024-10-06T22:48:15Z

Not used to auto-aim+fire in this genre. It works well here. The ability to physically block enemies from getting to the heart is interesting and I definitely haven't figured out how best to use it yet.

the Last Leukocyte by bad_fetus 2024-10-06T22:53:55Z

It's also just *really fun*. There's a certain amount of time I usually spend on a game before leaving ratings and moving on, and I've been playing this *way longer than that*.

Wizard | Spec Ops by badbons 2024-10-06T22:28:07Z

I've seen plenty of games with fire wizards. I've seen plenty of games with water wizards. *Fabric* wizards? That's a new one.

The Day They Got Hungy by Neon Kuroasa 2024-10-06T23:30:55Z

Took a few rounds for me to figure out what was going on; would have appreciated a bit more tutorial up front. That said, loved getting strategy tidbits from the game over text. The game over text was fantastic in general.

Let's eat Grandma. by Yoav Kagan 2024-10-07T20:24:40Z

The apostrophe level. The semicolon level. *The music/SFX sliders in the menu -* `Music [---,---]` *- the handles are commas.*

LD58 — Collector

The Collector by ScrapMetal 2025-10-07T00:10:58Z

It's a fun core mechanic. Wish I could see what it would've grown into if you'd had more time.

(His walk animation is adorable.)

Stamp Collecting on Planet Q by cassowary 2025-10-06T01:34:28Z

Introduces ideas at just the right rate, and then the last puzzle is a monster. Really fun.

I don't mind the English control descriptions, but thanks for keeping the rest of the text in the original Qzian!

Attic Thrifter by Sthor726 2025-10-06T00:28:11Z

Sokoban with enemies? Love it.

I never managed to figure out exactly how the rat's pathfinding works. Sometimes it'll go around obstacles and sometimes it won't. I could solve all the levels in the game through a little trial and error, but I could see the unpredictability becoming frustrating if it had continued into more advanced puzzle-y levels. (And I did find myself wishing for more levels. This is a really fun mechanic.)

GEE by deniskazantsev 2025-10-06T04:12:43Z

Fantastic on mobile. I didn't think it'd be possible to capture that much of the Game & Watch feel without physical buttons.

It took me several failures to figure out how many frames there were in the egg falling animation, but after that clicked I ended up getting to level 5 on my next playthrough.

Human Collector by The1 2025-10-05T23:00:34Z

Had me "one more round"ing until I could break 500, and it took around ten tries to do that. Very effective use of minimalist graphics (the way the ground color changes!).

564.png

Took me a while to figure out what the orange boxes do. Do the cows have a special effect, or are they mechanically identical to the people?

Human Collector by The1 2025-10-07T02:52:26Z

Wait the cows are worth *50*?!

... my new high score is 914.

Hottentottententententoonstelling by Wouter52 2025-10-06T23:38:28Z

Other raters: go play the game FIRST, read comments LATER, this is one you'll want to go into blind.

Hottentottententententoonstelling by Wouter52 2025-10-06T23:44:36Z

This is delightful, totally destroys any conception of game genres, and is the first game I've played with a pen tablet. Making a note to come back to the collection page later.

Collecting Dust by jacobwinters 2025-10-10T19:06:55Z

> man that was hard, are the roombas programed to go towards the objects no matter what they were always headed straight for them

\- @soloadventurergames

In the levels where they bounce off the walls, at each bounce they have a 1 in 2 chance of heading directly for a piece of furniture. In the levels where they come from the sides, 1 in 8 will spawn aimed at furniture. Otherwise they're aimed randomly. I spent a while tweaking the probabilities to try to make it hard but not too hard, but I don't think I got the balance quite right :L

> hey so uhhh. which roomate made this? asking for a freind.

\- @kallico

Hard to say... I'd probably start collecting robot vacuums before I started collecting dust, so probably the annoying roommate? Neither of them were meant to be based on real people, but now I want to go buy some roombas :D

> Just curious though, I poked around in the source for a bit :) Did you use pure JS, HTML and CSS for this?

\- @wouter52

Yep, it's the tech stack I have the most experience with, I love the tiny download sizes and practically instant load times, and CSS is a great way to build game UI quickly. (I'm particularly proud of the way the buttons turned out in [my entry for LD54](https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/54/tiny-rocket).) Every once in a while I'll think about switching to a language that lets me have nicer operator-overloaded vec2 syntax but I have yet to find one that doesn't come with enormous compilation overhead.

Duckollector by ghettobastler 2025-10-05T22:40:53Z

Lost my first playthrough because I didn't realize how quickly hazard pay ramped up; prioritized it the second time through and won with one day to space. Excellent game! Enemies feel quite varied. The falling coin animation is delightful.

Instinct tells me to plot efficient routes through the field to pick up as many coins as possible as quickly as possible before more enemies appear, but it looks like enemy spawn is triggered by my picking up coins, so that was poor strategy on my part; the mechanics reward carefulness over speed. (Maybe that's why I never got much use out of the coffee upgrade.)

SECRET MUSHROOM PASTA by guillaumepauli 2025-10-06T22:31:37Z

Wonderfully absurdist. I didn't see it all, but I did fall out of the world on the other side of the mountain, and then I went back and explored the caves, so I think I saw most of it. Never did figure out what was up with the letters in the school.

The to-do list was a nice guide. I wouldn't have known to go back and look at the crates as a parkour challenge if it hadn't told me. Having a sense of a mountain in the distance kept me moving forward. Later on it felt like I lost the thread - no idea what part of the world I should revisit to find a secret party.
