Lost my first playthrough because I didn't realize how quickly hazard pay ramped up; prioritized it the second time through and won with one day to space. Excellent game! Enemies feel quite varied. The falling coin animation is delightful.
Instinct tells me to plot efficient routes through the field to pick up as many coins as possible as quickly as possible before more enemies appear, but it looks like enemy spawn is triggered by my picking up coins, so that was poor strategy on my part; the mechanics reward carefulness over speed. (Maybe that's why I never got much use out of the coffee upgrade.)

I love everything about this game - 5/5 across the board! It's just got such a perfect vibe.

@jacobwinters indeed, a new enemy spawn every third bit you collect. I wanted to give the player the time to decide if they want to continue or not, but this is hard to reconcile with a gameplay that encourages you to be fast and think on your feet. Thank you for your comment!
Absolutely, a brilliant game through and through. The gameplay and graphics are spot on. The only thing I find anoying is the camera's "pixel judder"; I probably would have opted for a different setting than the average of the center point and the player. But as I said, an absolutely great game! :heart:

It's an interesting idea to combine incremental with bullethell. I would like to see pickup range upgrade in the game. It was also very frustrating that the number of days was finite.

Awesome game! Probably my favorite so far. I love the visuals, audio, fun gameplay, and the unlockable stuff made me smile. Really well done!
I do wish I had more days though, I wasn't paying attention to that and ended up losing when I think I was on the right track.
Man that was great, I always love the pico-8 aesthetic anyway, but this was still really nicely done. A little story, lots of juicy polish touches, really well balanced and a solid gameplay mechanic. The meta-game of trying to decide what upgrades might be worth it added a little spice too. Didn't manage to pay my debt, but will have to come back for another try. Only thing that threw me is the coffee didn't seem to slow time as far as I could tell. :shrug:. Anyway great work, my favourite so far.

Awesome! Super cool look to everything and just great feeling to play. It was easy to understand how it worked but it took a few tries to beat, which is perfect. Great job fitting such a great game into a very small and neat package.
aaah like silk. Really great stuff. Intro, sound, execution. The lot. Top marks from me.

Insanely addictive. In terms of game design, it’s the best I’ve played so far. I never quite figured out how to use SlowMo effectively, but I managed without it. You, comrade, are a very talented game designer — do you know that?

Very hard, but equally very fun. I love Pico-8 games, they have an amazing retro vibe that is very hard to replicate. Super polished as well, well done!

Presentation as a whole is great. Audio and visuals are great and clear. The pixel art in general is pretty cute.
I'm guessing disc room was this game's primary inspiration lol. That aside, you still did a wonderful job here and made something that still manages to feel like it's own thing. I think the best thing this game does is how it handles progression. The difficulty felt just right all around ( Although I think the beginning might feel a little too slow on replay, but that's fine. From day 2 or 3 and onwards it ramps up nicely ). That and also the scale of the arena and enemy types also ramped up in a way which felt right.
The variety in enemy types were also great, along with each enemy type looking and feeling distinct enough that they complemented each other pretty well. On one hand, I felt like maybe the game becomes a little too random the longer you go on in a day ( Something which I felt disc room suffered from as well tbh ) but I think it works well here none the less since it makes the decision of when to cash in or not all the more tense.
All in all, I'd say you made a damn good game here. Really great job
Had to go turbo gamer mode in the final day, but I won by the skin of my teeth. This game is awesome! Good work Duckollector.png

I am biased towards liking PICO-8 entries, but I genuinely think everything here works really well. The scaling is done correctly, the graphics are awesome, the audio fits. The gameplay was so addicting it made me play through the full game - and the balance is made so that winning is challenging but possible.
What a great entry! If this isn't on the top in the charts - well, it definitely is in my mind. Thanks, and congrats!

Very very nice! I got very addicted to that game. I love the graphics and the audio. The game play is really fun. It's maybe a little hard to lose all coins and a day if you got hit but on the other hand it makes you think about what kind of upgrades to buy when and what amount of money you need to catch therefor in the next round. Overall a great game! Thanks for sharing!

I'm a free duck! And with $1981 in my pocket to boot. I really like this game, so many little things come together really well. The fact that enemies only spawn when I pick up loot felt _really_ satisfying - the intensity increased, but I didn't feel punished for being a little cautious (or, rather, having to spend some time just staying alive). The progression was good, the unlocking of an extra hit felt really great. All the enemies were interesting. Maybe the only complaint I have is I didn't find the coffee particularly useful, some other action (a dash / momentary invincibility?) would maybe have fit well, although just slowing things down did mesh well with the whole "just avoid getting hit" as the primary mechanic =). Nice job!

Amazing game! It looks and feels great. The difficulty scaling of each day is perfect, it gets to the point in a few seconds but doesn't becomes immediately impossible. The 10 days countdown works great. Enemies are all interesting. Maybe some balancing issues with the available level ups, the one increasing money being so much better than the others imo (and coffee being very weak to me). Other than that it's just perfectly done, congrats!

Super crazy fun! The game feels really satisfying to play and I'm glad there's enough leeway to get the good ending without a perfect run. I can only hope that becoming debt free in real life will feel half as good as clearing this game! :sweat_smile:
