This game is really cool. I liked it, but I think the progression is a little slow.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD56 → FOREST CLEARING

This game is really cool. I liked it, but I think the progression is a little slow.
This. Is. Awesome. Upgrade system feels great. It was amazing to one-shot one of the big enemies for the first time.
I can't really make any complaints about this game, it feels like a short, fully fledged, perfectly executed game. In the context of a gamejam, progression might be a bit slow (if you're as clumsy and impatient as me), but in general, it's a perfect game
I really enjoyed this game. The gameplay keeps you engaged with each upgrade. The art style is amazing too!
A very good game! I killed all my friends first, because I thought that was the right thing to do)). When I what I had to do, it became a lot of fun to play! Great sound, great art
One of my favorite entry so far! Interesting choices, good action, really good yet simple look. It's a great game. I just wish there was a bit more incentive to keep going further, and not just die at the start to collect more meat. But aside from that, perfect 😊
My favorite game so far ! Very fun and feels great to play.
Love the concept! Easy to pickup but definitely challenging. Well, I played with my laptop touchpad which doesn't help ahah. I like the upgrade on death, it rewards player who want to try again and that's pretty cool. I caught myself saying "one more time" many times. Congrats!
I definitely could have done it way faster, than 8 rounds  Would try again tomorrow
As always, great game with original concept! You keep amazing me with your gameplay ideas every time.
I thought I was doing pretty well until the hyper aggressive wiener-dogs came out of nowhere and taught me a lesson. Loved all the sound effects and music, and was surprised and hype when the music changed. The boss was also really fun to see at the end! My only real "complaint" was that I had a hard time using the pierce damage on more than like 2 or 3 enemies at a time, it seemed a bit inconsistent. I ended up playing through the game twice, nice job!
This is a very solid interesting game! I finished in about 10 tries and would continue if it has more content Liked upgrades and want even more, for example new weapons
This game feels really good! I like the graphics and audio, it fits very well. The upgrade system is working effectively. Maybe the progression is a little bit slow and could be improved. Nice job!
Really good game, it's fun and challenging. I would enjoy this concept on a bigger project than a jam game !
Ok you got me. I sat here and played this just to get the next upgrade. Then the next, and the next... Also the pierce upgrade is great because it adds a bit of skill to what is otherwise a standard clicker. This was great fun.
The sword mechanics were a lot of fun! The first time through, I was wondering if there was a penalty to farming the animals. And then I got to the end, and the score was based on number of rounds to complete. Oh well, I guess my farming empire will have to size down a little :)
After realizing that, the game transformed into something partially about sword fighting, and partially about resource management and deciding when to cut losses, which was a cool dynamic. Best strategy seems to be buying as many pals as possible for the first couple rounds, then maxing out offensive stats to finish the game.
Got 21 my first try, and 3 on my second:

Incredible game! The graphics are so cute and the gameplay is fluid and polished. The whole thing feels really fun to play and it's definitely the kind of game I could see myself playing in the future should you release it with more content.
Woah!!!! I'll settle for nine rounds on my first try. Very, very good! I enjoyed the unique approach to managing friendlies, cursor combat, and the incremental upgrades felt very good to earn. Well done!

Awesome game!
A easy straight 5 stars! Defeated the final boss in 14 rounds!
Some innovative way to bet your stack. This is imaginitive, yet I would remove speed out of progression, the sword is too cluncky
@oldtoadpower Thanks! Yeah it's very slow, I had zero time to balance it sadly D: Might fix it in a post jam version :)
@jacobwinters yippiee, thanks for enjoying it!
@fenderbate Thank you! Yeah it is very slow, realized 20 waves was wayy too much, gets repetitive and tedious. I should fix it!
@matt1will Yay, thanks for liking it!
@sid37 Thanks! Hehe yeah, I think I should probably turn off the friendly fire, or change it in some way. They give free meat though!
@docgeraud Thank you!! Yeah, there isn't a lot of content there, 20 rounds was way too much, got a bit repetitive. Glad you enjoyed it though!!
@mreliptik Thanks for playing and liking it! Yeah it's not the easiest to play on touchpad, I'm testing out analog stick controls and it works surprisingly well, might release a post jam version with it!
i too tired for beat it today but i will! i'm so sad when my green friends died but... meat need too :< At first I thought, damn, just click on enemies with a sword? But no, you need to dodge and also carefully poke if the enemies are very close to your friends. It's very exciting :crossed_swords:
heck ya that was sick! i love how the music gets more intense at the end. before you get the insurance upgrade, theres a really nice risk/reward mechanic where you try to push your luck to get more meats. the creature designs are simple but really efffective!
This game was a whole lot of fun! I ended up winning in 5 rounds.
I think a common problem with a lot of incremental games is that there ends up being almost no actually planning involved, as the goal is always just to pick up the next immediate upgrade without thinking, but this game definitely allowed for some planning of what style of playing you wanted to angle for
I also really liked how the pierc mechanic worked, and it ended up pairing really well with move speed upgrades!
This was a whole lot of fun, and super impressive, especially for compo!
Very fun and amazingly polished!!
This game has a slow and clumsy start, and then continues into a great and solid experience. And, I guess, if you kill the final wave in a single run — you finish on a high note. But I kinda died on the wave before last, and then on the last wave. And by that time I have already bought every upgrade a long time ago, so getting to the last level felt like a chore. Especially the first several waves. Guess i just suck at games like this
Maybe a solution to this could be making an expencive upgrade to skip first boring levels, but polishing small thing like that is hard to do in scope of just two days
Great job!
(upd: i tried to play again after rage quitting and managed to finish the game (in 14 rounds), but I still feel salty about it )
Very fun, I really liked how you are left to decide if the situation is so dire that you'll have to kill your own friends. Graphics and music were top notch too! Really impressive.
First of all, congrats on making a game all by yourself. One day, I hope to have that kind of courage. Secondly, great job on the game! It’s a simple yet functional idea, perfect for a game jam. It’s in line with those newer games where you level up even when you die.
Terrific game! I was hooked from beginning to end. The progression is very satisfying and the art and sfx feel so crisp. I especially liked the way the sword worked against multiple enemies. It gave a nice skill aspect to the whole thing.
Hurray for peace in the woods!!! This is super cute and I totally didn't get it at first (I killed my critter for meat lol and the second time they demolished my sword cuz I didn't realize they could) but once I got it, it was a lot of fun! And a challenge to beat it in as few resets as possible.
This is a super addictive game that I was super happy (and proud) to finish!
fun, liked the crunchy music. Getting experience from the meat of your friends is interesting since you aren't really penalized from accidentally or purposely killing them, perhaps a "peace, but at what cost" feel.
Great gameplay loop and there's something sinister about needing to willingly sacrifice your own herd for meat.
Great job making a full accumulating adventure. I agree with the progression feeling slow, a third in I felt like buying a defender like herd dog could be nice. The game feels satisfying to finish with the enemy variety.
