There's a few things I could go into, but I don't know Unity that well, so I'll just say it's a really interesting concept, would love to see it executed on further!
This is great and the mechanics all work together really nicely - at first I just filled up the truck randomly but then realised I have to take the packages out again to deliver :D having to actually plan your route and then also plan how you fill the truck is really cool!
It's great how you have to decide whether you'll take your time at the post office packing as many boxes as possible into each trip or you'll pack in a hurry and spend more time driving as a result.
Package physics feels a bit floaty when you're trying to pack boxes close together in the truck, but the floatiness sure makes it fun to toss them out of the truck onto a doorstep.
I loved this so much! Like no joke I said that multiple times outloud while playing, this is charming and strategic and just so delightful. As others have said my first run I packed it full, and ended up running out of time in the end, but the next go I was more strategic, really planned it out and beat it!
The timing was fantastic, really got down to the wire but it never felt unfair, which was a big plus for me. The physics I really enjoyed as well, they were floaty but they didn't feel too sticky, I never felt like I was caught on anything or stuck, outside of one or two times at the beginning of a day which was frustrating. But just throwing stuff around was lots of fun. The single mouse controls worked super well too, great work.
I was impressed that you managed to make the music as well, I think my only real critique was the graphics, they were a big simple in the driving section, and the different pixel sizes of different elements really threw me off, some had thin lines where as others were really thick.
Overall though I loved this a lot, great work. I can see why at first glance our games appear similar though
Really cool concept and executed well. Only real criticism is that the collisions felt a bit unforgiving and caused some packages to get stuck on other boxes making them difficult to move around. Otherwise really good.
Really good game, I just took a little time to understand that there were two purple houses.
at first I tried to pack everything and then go deliver, not a good strategy :D such a nice game!
i thought the packing and driving mechanics would be too disconnected at first, but when i realised i had to take out the packages with those same packing mechanics i realised it was actually a really clever mechanic that forced me to both think about how i was packing those packages as well as the order i delivered them in. i really like what i played but i couldn't play a lot of it because i'm playing on a laptop and playing this with a trackpad was very uncomfortable, but i imagine it must be really fun with a mouse
It has a very good setting!
That title screen was so nice and satisfying! The gameplay is very solid and I love how you have to balance your time with the packages you carry and the routes you can take.
Solid entry! Puzzle + time = good desicion for a gameplay.
Very nice game! very relaxing to organize the truck and make deliveries! I really enjoyed zoning out and playing this. The art is nice and everything comes together for a solid experience!
The repacking mechanic is really great. I had trouble rotating the packages, but everything else felt really good. The sliding made for a nice level of chaos. Great game!
I liked how the gameplay shifted from first learning the mechanics, then trying to optimize the truck. But in the later levels since the boxes were so big you had to memorizing the locations of the houses and really optimize your route.
Simple and lots of fun. Love the physics!
Really liked it!Didnt even notice when I beat the 5 days!Very nice idea with the sorting and delivering and I really like the art(especially the houses) and the music!Very well done!
Such a good entry. I think the only thing I would have recommended is a slower (less packages) day 1, or a day 0 with no clock, just to let players get their bearings. That is very nitpicky of me though.
Fun Gameplay, great audio, and solid graphics make this the best compo game I've played so far. Kudos!
That's a cute little concept! It works really nicely within the theme and it's very relaxing. Good job!
I agree with CaliceDev above, I thought the packing and the delivering would be too disjointed, but they ended up complimenting each other very well! I initially thought I would just pack them as densely as possible, Tetris style, but I quickly found it was more efficient to pack them in order of delivery. Then it became a game of balancing how many parcels I could fit, how much rearranging I would have to do, how much time it would all take... very strategic gameplay from such a simple concept!
@calicedev @niterich I’m glad you liked the idea. I really appreciate it. I was a bit tight on time because I completely redid the delivery mechanic on the second day of the jam so I didn’t get to expand on the strategic nature as much as I wanted. But it seems like I got the idea across
@phlip45 yeah I was hoping to have a practice mode in the How To Play section. I was sort of planning on it but I ran out of time. The best I managed to get done was playing with the boxes in the main menu (which is useless but fun)
@rawb I didn't even see that you could do that! So cool.
i liked the art and musics and gameplay is sweet
This is amazing! I love this idea of packing up your truck in a certain order based on the route you're planning to take around town. The controls are very fluid and intuitive, and the gameplay is just satisfying and fun the whole time. I also really like how easy it is to use the on-screen truck and map icons. Great sound and music, too. Excellent work all around!
You managed to fit quite alot into your 48 hours. The concept and gameplay is pretty neat with the 2 stages and the scope for being strategic about it. The physics with the boxes is on the one hand frustrating that they don't lock into place when you put them in the van in a more teris like style, but at the same time the chaos of getting them out and throwing them everywhere is pretty fun, so not really sure what would be best there. I found the time constraint pretty challenging, maybe the difficulty ramp could have been a bit more forgiving, managed to make it through the first day 2 days but got stuck on the 3rd where loading up the boxes got so jammed i couldn't move any anymore. The art is tastefully done and I like the kind of chilled meandering music that contrasts with the frantic gameplay. Pretty great work overall I have to say.
Cool idea ! The graphics look great, well done for this entry.
Really cool, even feels like you made two games in one. I thought packing an unpacking the truck would already be it, but you even get to drive around the map and plan the route. Very cool!
Was also fun to mess around with the packages in the main menu :)
dont like thie parcels collider feelings ,always stuck with each other, but game design is vey nice, van controll feelings are nice, graphic and sounds are great,,nice job!!!
@olddog @automatonvx Yeah the colliders for the parcels just didnt want to work, which is annoying. I couldn't a get them to slide nicely into place like tetris pieces in time.
Really clever idea with the game, having to drive but also need to plan how you put in the parcels makes replay really fun. At first it took me a couple of tries but then I got the groove with it (and Unity physics.) Loved it, really interesting take on the game, great stuff! ^-^
Really good game! The premise is simple but gets the job done very well. A bit of an indication where you need to click for the map and driving, like a highlight when you mouse over would be nice. Other than that it´s the full package, nice job!
very cool interpretation! both puzzle and delivery gameplay feels interesting and connected! Clean visuals, great music and sounds. well done!
Super cute game, very nice touch to have the packing order matter with the package colours. When first packing I didnt realise it, until I arrived at the first house. One small pointer, map and driving button do not really look like buttons which meant it took me a moment to figure that out.
Tetris and delivery - like!
This is very cool and lends itself to unique strategy. I also didn't realize at first that the packing order mattered for deliveries and then I was like "ohhh". The only issue I ran into was that it seemed like sometimes when driving, my position on the map didn't match up with where I actually was, which was a little confusing, but the important part of the map was just the relative layout of the houses anyway, so it wasn't too much of an issue. The audio is also relaxing and the color schemes for the houses are very nice. Overall this is a great submission, well done!
My dad recently started working at a post office and this was surprisingly relevant  The strategy of both packing the boxes and running the routes to unpack them with minimal shuffling of boxes felt very true to reality and also fun  Very nice relaxing feel from the audio, really made me wanna stick around and keep delivering :stuck_out_tongue: Nicely done!
