LD44 — Your life is currency

The Tree of Bounty by gelisam 2019-05-04T02:59:05Z

This is such an interesting concept and such a peaceful experience. It wasn't clear in the instructions which actions required a click in the center of a hex and which should be clicked on the edges. For example, it took me forever to thicken the branches because the knot felt like the natural place to click. Overall, it's a great game. I love the mechanics.

PigsyBanksy by Joel Davis 2019-05-02T02:26:57Z

I love that you pay a price for coin hording. Great visuals as well.

CrazyAmbulance by C64Gamer 2019-05-01T18:05:35Z

Hilarious! This was really fun.

remnant. by screamrawr 2019-05-04T02:51:07Z

The art and the ambiance were A++ on this! Very impressive for the short time span :)

NECROCAT 9000 by tweedle 2019-05-02T02:34:21Z

The sound was hilarious and I loved the art. I couldn't tell if I picked up the health from a dash or not.

Gladiator Souls by hadesfury 2019-05-07T04:23:59Z

This was really fun! I appreciate the little animated tells before the enemy swings its blade. Details like that are important in this kind of game. I really enjoyed the danger of near-misses, but I also really enjoyed just running into a crowd of enemies in the later waves just to see if I could make it out alive again.

Necromarket by Flaterectomy 2019-05-01T18:25:48Z

What a great concept and fantastic execution! My only issue was with bounding boxes. I kept interacting with the wrong things.

A Small Rocket by uchiro 2019-05-13T03:12:20Z

Some other users liked the voices, but for me they were a distraction. The art, though, was very nice! Very well done overall!

Brave Swordsman by falak 2019-05-04T13:03:36Z

I like the battle mechanic! It's a fun way to have this kind of fight. It's got a lot of potential!

While fighting some characters, I had the game totally freeze up on me. I also encountered some really tricky controls so long as I had an xbox controller connected to my machine (the character would only move to the side, even if the controller wasn't registering inputs).

The Price For Blood by GoZz 2019-05-04T12:39:04Z

This idea is pretty clever! The idea of a riot simulator is interesting, and it'd be curious to see that taken further.

Mint Sprint by kaiclavier 2019-05-04T03:44:26Z

I love this game! Consider adding a simple puzzle between stages 2 and 3 that only depends on the in/out direction. That way you don't have to make it explicit in the UI and it can be part of the learning/discovery process.

Grim by Sanavesa 2019-04-30T17:42:09Z

Great game! The effects were nifty and the trade off for upgrades felt balanced. My only thought would be to differentiate the background color a bit more from the main character.

Long live the king! by PixelSplash 2019-05-08T01:17:50Z

Really fun art! This game has a nice visual feel to it. It's a bummer about the extra time that you needed, but it's great that you were upfront about that. Keep at it! Next time you'll be faster :)

The Capitalist's Curse by Ash Ketchup 2019-04-30T17:29:47Z

Haha, I upgraded myself to death. Congrats on finishing! I hit a few of the bugs mentioned when trying to upgrade.

Robocide by Spiffy 2019-05-18T06:42:18Z

The idea immediately made me think of guiding cats with a laser pointer. I'd love to see this released as a cat-herding game, it would be hilarious! I like the balance of spending your critters to make the other critters better, too. Well done!

A Lively Village by blednaya 2019-04-30T17:17:51Z

It's very relaxing. As others stated, the result text is either too fast or too long.

Dusty by jvolonte 2019-05-02T04:11:52Z

I love the feel of the pistol attack. It felt very impactful! And I really liked the background music, its a nice beat for this kind of game. With the shotgun I noticed a bit of a lag with the bullets and the screen shake. It wasn't much, but enough to make me go back to the other weapons that had a nicer feel. Really great job on this!

Don't Die, Eat Your Veggies by GhostGoatsGames 2019-05-05T06:45:28Z

A very funny concept! Combining a keep-alive race with a farming simulator is clever :) I found myself tripping over the interface a little (repeatedly dropping and then mistakenly re-picking up the same item) But once I figured out where the items would drop, it was pretty easy to get going.

time to time by Rs11s21n 2019-05-13T03:18:57Z

I love the spooky audio track. I agree that the camera was kinda high on the sensitivity side, but I dig the art! Well done :)

Tanemaki by Wyatt 2019-05-05T06:30:07Z

This game is max chill and I absolutely love it. The audio is especially good, and the balance of sowing more seeds and losing your katamari ball as you plant/move feels like a perfect fit to the theme for me. I knew I was in trouble when I ended up very far away from the nearest fertile ground ;) Very well done!

Hell's reefs by Amour Du Pain 2019-05-18T02:07:12Z

Really awesome ambiance on this project! I liked how forlorn everything felt, the stark lighting and the music fit very well together. I wasn't very good at navigating the boat, but that kind of added to the mood in the end. Well done!

Pass the Buck by tg1397 2019-04-30T17:50:35Z

I loved the theme. The music is great. It would be great to break up the text a bit, as least in the beginning.

Procházka by Daniel Jenikovský 2019-04-30T18:10:53Z

Just beautiful. The art and music were lovely. I wish I could walk along a bit longer.

Blood Type Z by Ceuteum 2019-05-18T06:54:07Z

Cute character! And I enjoyed the music, it gives a nice nostalgic vibe. As others mentioned, the placeholder white boxes look like errors at first. I'd recommend using something slightly more if your art person gets waylaid next time. Even a splotch drawn in mspaint would be totally fine :) I think I'd like the jumps to hang in the air for just a little bit longer, too. Overall I like this one, and the umbrella fighting/blocking idea is fun, too!

The Trials of Marzbān by RyanJavanshir 2019-05-02T02:49:55Z

I couldn't read the tree text fast enough so I'm not sure if I did it right, but interacting with the tree didn't seem to turn off hell mode for me. But it was otherwise great and creepy.

Shaman Kaguya by Wigner Matos 2019-05-18T02:36:06Z

I really liked the art on this project. The character design, especially the portrait, is very appealing! It's fun to play too. I started trying to kite enemies around the house to conserve my shots, which was a fun challenge in itself. I did lose track of the mouse cursor sometimes, which might be a color blindness thing. A higher contrast icon would help. Also, the camera shake is a little heavy. Great job overall, though! There's a lot in here for such a short timeframe.

Life of the Party by Madbarron 2019-05-04T18:14:50Z

hahaha definitely archer ftw. This was lots of fun! I didn't end up switching around my points as much as I probably could have, so more incentives (or maybe more feedback on the difference in damage) would be helpful there. Really great job here!

Killing in the name of... by sver 2019-05-04T03:07:15Z

I love the concept. It's goofy in a way that's a perfect fit for the theme. Some alternate screams would have been good, because oof that is not a sound to listen on on headphones repeatedly. It also wasn't clear at first if there was a way to win. But maybe that's the point when it comes for sacrificing for the greater good

For A Bike by hwaet 2019-05-01T02:11:16Z

Thank you all for the feedback! It's super helpful. This has been so much fun.

@sanavesa only one upgrade should be able to reach the island.

@flaterectomy yeah, we ran out of time so the graphics were a mix of stuff we made and stuff we already had. If we release a bigger game, we'll definitely tweak the upgrade uses as well.

@ldjsq could be a bug. Are you in range and the cool-down timer is back to black?

For A Bike by hwaet 2019-05-07T01:32:15Z

Thanks everyone for the feedback!

@coatline We ran out of time for lots of things, especially audio. Maybe future Ludum Dares we'll prioritize a few SFX.

@maggardjosh @dorblin7z7 @heyycap We meant to have the upgrade text read "Rent" instead of "Purchase". It will definitely stack in future versions, but we thought making players pay more souls for this particular instance highlighted the currency/cost of life a bit better. Sorry we didn't make it clearer upfront.

@plexsoup That's a good point about pacing. We'll make a faster tutorial version in the future and make the house more noticeable.

@ransom Those are all really good points. In particular, we totally should have checked that the bike cost was up there. >_< We definitely need to tweak bounding boxes and fine tune interactions.

@michaelsonbritt At the moment, it's all random, but we do want seeding and extinction in future versions.

Your last 10 seconds by guimero64 2019-05-18T02:48:08Z

What a clever idea! This is a great take on the theme, and would make a pretty fun series of scenarios if you wanted to take this idea further. Well done!

Particle Overload by Turtwiggy 2019-05-08T01:44:08Z

What an awesome idea! The particle effect is really nice, and I love the concept. Allowing the user to add their own song was a good touch, too. Since EDM was suggested, I gave that a shot and boy howdy it was worth converting some files over to wav to see that. Really well done :)

Bioenfluencer by caevv 2019-04-30T18:04:06Z

Great concept! The matrix mechanic was seriously fun. I had a bit of trouble moving between the lab and the studio. My creatures wouldn't always show up.

Minimum Viable Piggy by Macks 2019-05-02T03:09:40Z

This game was delightful! I loved the pig farts.

Pilling Debt by MasterProject 2019-05-04T02:41:52Z

Nice. It took me a while to get used to the flow, but it's really fun once you get it. Maybe consider changing the color on a few of the hazards. They are really similar in color to the background which makes them too hard to see when moving at high speeds.

MONGR by minor_gods 2019-05-01T02:29:58Z

The pacing works really well. It feels good - an adorable take on a dark idea.

Meter Maid DX by No Grapes Games 2019-05-04T03:18:34Z

"This parking meter had hopes and dreams" I think is my favorite intro line from this entire competition. Catchy music, cute art, and fun gameplay. Really well done!

Sand and Blood by Pedro137BR 2019-05-01T17:49:55Z

Fun! I liked the big map, but sticking 1 heart closer to center would help me know what I'm looking for. Loved the SFX. Would it be possible to decrease the footstep volume relative to all of the others? Great job!

Currencies of Life by Bartman 2019-04-30T12:28:48Z

Congrats on your first game! The biggest thing that comes to mind after playing is the UX for firing shots. They stop wherever you click, which means the game is encouraging you to click on the very edge of the game's window for maximum range and quickest target hits. This is a little frustrating on the web build, because it's easy to click off the window. I'd recommend having the shots continue past the click, or make closer shots cost less.

also I dig the music :)

Virus the game by Vertuga32 2019-05-04T12:51:52Z

This one was a bit gross! But very on-theme. I'd have liked a different screen for loss/wins, but otherwise this was really well done.

LD45 — Start with nothing

Draconomics by CyberStarLight 2019-10-11T04:12:02Z

Very cute! I really dig the dragon design. This would make a great tablet game for relaxing on the couch. A couple more maps with some more detail and I think you'd be able to ship this. More audio cues would be nice for when the dragon decides not to want something anymore, but I'm just picking nits. This is great!

Buried Things by Skyeward 2019-10-09T01:49:16Z

This was the first game that made me laugh out loud. The intro could be a hair faster, but once I got into it, the puzzles were subtle and fun.

Unlock Everything by DDRKirbyISQ 2019-10-25T01:27:03Z

What a great entry! I was laughing immediately. Clever, and polished, and fun to boot! Really well done :)

Election Simulator 2019 Island Edition by smbe19 2019-10-24T05:57:47Z

A clever idea! I didn't understand what to do at first and spent all my money before starting the campaign. Haha, oops. It's an impressive idea to run a campaign sim, and there's quite a lot in here for a compo!

Mall-icious Intent by superjai 2019-10-09T03:57:58Z

Polished art and catchy music! Very well executed, and the snarky text is a nice touch.

Nothing to Say by celia14 2019-10-08T00:59:15Z

That was adorable. It's a very sympathetic take on social anxiety. If you had more time, I would have liked to build on successful conversations in repeats. Great game!

From Nothing To Nothing by patvanmackelberg 2019-10-09T02:03:28Z

Great game. I like the flow and the music felt very appropriate. It was a bit tricky to tell where the bounding boxes were at times but it was lots of fun. I'm kind of glad I didn't get the whole story. We have a young kid and family death stories make me queasy.

Just One More by grena 2019-10-19T18:22:33Z

Hahaha. Nice story. As a personal preference, the right handed controls feel overloaded. I have to switch between mouse and movement and interact. Maybe add ASDW support in the future? Great theme, great game!

Solar Grid by svntax 2019-10-24T06:12:23Z

This was fun! I didn't understand that you could build things without having full energy at first, so it seemed almost too hard! It's still a challenge, though. I got tripped up on the controls for placing and controlling turrets. It was a lot of clicks in rapid succession to try to control them all, which is part of the challenge but also doesn't feel like something that you can get into a flow with. Controls aside this felt really tight and successful :)

Build Yourself by lilkrit 2019-10-29T03:17:35Z

Very nice! I mistakenly hit escape and restarted the game, but other than that little hiccup I had a lot of fun with this one :)

Gecko's Cabinet by JustMars 2019-10-08T00:40:39Z

It's a cute design and fun to play through a couple of times to see where it goes. It would be great to have a quit button in the main menu.

Zen Man by Team Catwheel 2019-10-11T04:26:14Z

What a great visual treatment! You really nailed the theme on this one, and the control is very smooth. The ambient nature sounds are also a really nice touch. Well done!

Space Scavenger by Mabry 2019-10-09T02:36:48Z

I love building spaceships so I immediately liked this idea! It was fun to avoid those mines, but before I got my engines it was sad to slowly be overtaken by those mines. Oh, that poor exploded space-survivor. One thing I'd recommend would be a star field to give the player some feedback on how they're moving. At one point I wasn't sure if I was still moving or not! Overall this was fun, and the ship piece art is a nice touch

Floatblox by Rewzu 2019-10-24T06:20:50Z

This is a pretty big scope for a compo game! I liked the aesthetic of little floating islands in the sky, and it's impressive to have a build system in there! One thing I would recommend (at least for GL mode), add in a restart button for when klutzes like myself fall off the island ;)

King of Nothing by notapixelstudio 2019-10-25T01:54:38Z

I love the concept of this. There's never enough rhythm games, and combining it with chess is clever! This was really fun

Amalgame by Gnomik 2019-10-08T00:08:41Z

This was a really fun game. It took me a while to figure out that I had to evolve the movement cells. I thought they floated into me like the green cells. Once I got moving, it was a blast. The graphics are beautiful and the controls feel good.

VersusPunch by Coisne Nathan 2019-10-13T01:22:24Z

It's really nice to see a multiplayer game pop up in Ludum Dare! I haven't seen many of these. A++ on the intro, the entire premise of this game is as lovely as it is over-the-top 80s. It's nice that the loser gets to pick their powerups. The music is really catchy, too. The only thing I miss here is a pause button or a keyboard option for folks without multiple controllers. Very well done!

N0THING.exe by PSiv 2019-10-13T02:06:48Z

Really good entry! I love that you have to run the music in-game in order to listen to it as a player, that's a nice detail. This felt very polished! The only constructive feedback I have is for the time puzzle. On any sort of QTE, players usually react better to the timing being on the button press, rather than a button release. But that's a tiny detail in an overwhelming fun game. Thank you for sharing it with us!

Loot Simulator 2019 by Adam Gaskins 2019-10-11T18:39:20Z

It's got a nice smooth feel. The base mechanic is very satisfying.

Little Guardian by JUSTCAMH 2019-10-11T03:55:18Z

This is a really impressive project to cram into a ludum dare weekend! The music fits perfectly, the game is a fun challenge, and the destructable pixel world is cool. Plus extra points for supporting gamepads!

Still Faster Than 2GD by stolA 2019-10-25T01:16:05Z

This one is pretty nice! I dig the models and the animations. Since the botdogs don't seem to be able to hurt after firing, I pretended to walk up and give them a pet. The internet tells me that any game where you can pet the dog is a good game ;) One thing I'd recommend is to add a little camera shake when you take a hit, or when a nearby box explodes. Something to make it feel a little more impactful goes a long way!

House of Volans by benk 2019-10-24T06:28:02Z

That was fun! There's am unsettling art style here, which adds to the game quite nicely

Nothing is my car ! by T-Bo 2019-10-10T18:16:15Z

I love how you interpreted the theme. The models and animations are simple, but funny. Nor sure if it's just me, but I'm getting some flicker on the horizon. It makes it harder to see the incoming objects. If you plan on adding to it in the future, I would love ASDW controls. Great game!

Bluebirds by hwaet 2019-10-09T01:33:08Z

Thank you everyone for the feedback! I agree @adam-gaskins, we needed more feedback for the red pixels. We ran out time.

Sorry for the confusion @raffe. Next time we'll vary color and shapes.

Dead Again by Joe Bustamante 2019-10-11T18:27:21Z

The graphics and music fit together nicely. It's a fun game with nice levels.

Soulless by Nithin 2019-10-10T18:22:58Z

Great level design and the minimal graphics worked great. Nice game!

Ludum Dare Simulator by Marcin J 2019-10-25T01:46:10Z

I love how meta this is, and on a tricky theme too. It's a fun simulator! I ran into some troubles on a 4:3 monitor, but that aside it was a real treat.

Small Town by Emiliabea 2019-10-09T02:24:17Z

I immediately feel the panic of having messed up my holiday shopping. eep. This was a great idea and adorably executed! Plus, you get extra points for cats. There's always points for cats.

FROGBERT: Road to Culinary Stardom by trmrddr 2019-10-10T17:19:49Z

Out of curiosity, why did you choose isometric perspective? You mentioned it was a conscious decision. Was it just because you liked it or does it serve a larger purpose? It's a fun game. Lots of polish for a short time span.

FROGBERT: Road to Culinary Stardom by trmrddr 2019-10-10T18:03:38Z

Thanks @trmrddr! Great explanation. It makes a lot of sense. It's always nice to know how other designers think.

There's only Dark and you're a Cube (TioDayaaC) by scsc 2019-10-09T02:01:48Z

A good idea! I love games that play with light and shadow. One thing I recommend, especially with puzzle games where locomotion is a big part of the main loop: be wary of physics-based controllers. They can be very unreliable. For example, in my first run I was pushed into the wall by a turret and stuck there. (the impact of the turrets was a nice touch, too!)

VII by Trevor802 2019-10-09T02:12:47Z

The puzzle idea is a good one! It wasn't clear at first where the character's hit box would line up with the stage's dangers, but once I figured that out the puzzles were a fun challenge. The music was very suitably spooky! For the opening text: the lack of a text background and the jumpy word wrap make it a bit harder to read, I recommend tweaking that if you rely on text for your next project.

Memoirs Found in a by Dane Tesla 2019-10-25T01:05:35Z

I love the art style! You really nailed down a cool aesthetic here. I ran into some snags with the UI, I think perhaps this wasn't meant for a 4:3 monitor. But that's what I get for using dinosaur hardware. This was a nifty idea and it's always a treat to see someone play with the cthuluverse :)

Keep Me Burning by NavrcL 2019-10-08T15:04:10Z

Nice design and the sound is really great. I don't understand the random inaccessible lights. Why does my lamp keep baddies away but those don't? The flow is pretty nice when you get the hang of it.

A Field of Flowers by KeithSwanger 2019-10-09T04:07:51Z

What a delightfully chill game! I feel more at peace, having played it. Thank you!

Spare Change by Swordishmage 2019-10-09T02:19:36Z

It's a very humbling game - in a good way. Maybe check your camera update code. It might be updating at the wrong time, which can cause the jitters. Good work!

LD46 — Keep it alive

Faith Keeper by Emkani 2020-04-28T03:38:12Z

I love the light in this game and it was pretty hilarious in later stages. Settings for mouse sensitivity would be nice. Great job!

CHAD THE BABY SAVER by Brendev 2020-04-23T03:45:26Z

This is a delightful concept. And basically a compo too, which is impressive! I got stuck on the first time a guy with a riot shield showed up, because they turn as fast as I could run around them. But then I realized that the strategy there is to let myself get captured and use another baby to splat 'em. I also had a good laugh when enemies wearing pool floaties showed up. Well done!

The Wait by devilqube 2020-04-26T03:05:38Z

I was immediately struck by the voice and sound here! Voice acting is a rare treat for ludum games. I like the ambiance of this one. My first thought and only big comment would be the character controls could use some attention. Since running around gathering resources is so key, having controls that feel tight makes a big difference. Overall it's got great atmosphere, thank you for sharing this!

[edit] I forgot to mention that it's awesome that successive playthroughs start in new locations!

The Only Good Gremlin Is A Dead Gremlin by dwemthy 2020-04-22T02:21:18Z

I really liked the tile reveals. The hints for finding my way were intuitive.

Birdie Burglars by DDRKirbyISQ 2020-04-26T13:42:18Z

I think this one might be my favorite submission. It feels polished, and I love the concept. The music is especially nice! It's giving me such strong Rangarok vibes that I think I'm going to hop back and replay one of my old favorites. Thank you for sharing this lovely game!

The Tribe by Tommy 2020-04-25T03:52:40Z

This is a fun entry! I love how hard it is, though I agree with the others that an undo would be great. If I could suggest anything, it would be a little animation to the card shuffling/dealing. So when a new card comes from the player's deck, they get a little satisfying visual treat rather than cards spawning in place. This was a good direction for this theme, too. Well done!

Spirit of Resistance by arzi 2020-04-23T03:37:29Z

hacking and minesweeper! I never would have thought of that, but what a fun combo. This project really checks all the boxes for me: a nice visual aesthetic, chill chiptunes, hackery and saving the world from itself! There's a lot of fun details you put in here, like being able to click through dialogue to move a conversation along faster. That's a thing that's often forgotten in jam games with dialogue and I really appreciate that!

During my first three playthroughs, the game did get stuck on Rose's phone conversation after Andre says "what was that?". I tried clicking in different areas each time, but no dice.

The sprites are very cute. Thank you for sharing this lovely game with us!

The Wrecker by bmacintosh 2020-04-28T02:37:52Z

Nice entry. The sound was really satisfying and clean graphics were enjoyable. As others have said, the movement is just a bit too slow. Is that part of your difficulty calculations or something else? Great game!

Forest Idle by Firewill 2020-04-23T02:30:48Z

Nice graphics. I like the use of limited color as well. I've never actually bothered with a clicker game before. That's my workout for the evening.

Fridge Helper by ristoretto 2020-04-28T04:10:57Z

I love the concept of this! And I can't help but wonder if you have any kids, because this is remarkably like keeping a child fed during quarantine ;) It was neat being able to rearrange the shelves and have the food be like physics tokens, this gave me an added extra challenge of mistakenly feeding the dinosaur sometimes when food would bounce over to it. For the post-jam version, I'd recommend setting some colors to indicate the different stats. It'll let players more quickly figure out what food items they want to toss into the dino. Thank you for sharing this game!

Firestarter by Snowdrama 2020-04-24T02:06:52Z

Dark, but fun. Is there a win condition? I wasn't sure if I was getting closer since I also went the arsonist route after a while. Burning buildings should not be that enjoyable.

Loco Locomotive by freso 2020-04-26T03:19:30Z

This was fun! It took a couple tries to get the exact timing needed to clear the path in time. I like that it was so finely tuned, but I do wish there was another dimension in here. Maybe a switch to control where the train's path, or the ability to use other parts of the environment to solve the problem (I initially tried using the bear to slow the train's progress). I'm no puzzle expert, but my favorite ones have been where there are a couple ways to arrive at the correct answer. Also, really nice music choice! It suits the game's setting nicely.

Go With The Flow by Baby Dino Herd 2020-04-23T03:09:43Z

I love the concept here! And rhythm games are hard! My hat's off to you for doing one in a compo. It may have been a html5 thing, but I had some cases where it would get out of sync, or the beat indicator would speed up or slow down. Simple graphics are fine, but for a rhythm game it's really important to have that part be iron clad. The addition of a rhyming mechanic on top of keeping track of the beat was very clever, by the way. I'd love to see more games try that.

Symbio-tech by GenericToast 2020-04-28T03:32:18Z

This was fun! Escort missions are usually a tough sell (even when the theme literally calls for it) but this was a fun challenge. I enjoyed the background music and I was impressed by the available unlocks and leaderboard included! That's a lot to wrangle for a compo, very well done!

MACHINA by Harry Alissavakis 2020-04-23T02:41:38Z

This was really great! The visual style is top-notch, and the sound augments it nicely. It's a personal preference, but the intro was a bit heavy on the words. The gameplay was fun and I appreciate that the difficulty ramps up fast as soon as the player gets a feel for that first stage. I'm honestly a little mind blown this was a compo, there is a lot in here for a very small amount of time! Well done!

Good Squire by Eli Delventhal 2020-04-28T03:48:15Z

There's a heck of a lot of polish on this one! The controls, the presentation right at the start, and the puzzles all feel very well thought out. And the music is top notch, it really captures this kind of wonder/fantasy vibe. Plus, I have a soft spot for vikings. The only suggestion I can come up with is the voice of Ragnar, it felt like it didn't belong with the visuals and other audio. I'm just picking nits, though. This was really fun and a great premise, too. Thank you for sharing this game!

the Early Worm by alec 2020-04-27T02:29:35Z

The controls had me laughing the whole time. Nice touch on the sound effects/music. Great job!

Lucid Drifter by taxiderby 2020-04-23T01:36:49Z

I really enjoyed this one! It took me a couple runs to get a good feel for the controls, but I really liked it. Especially once I got the hang of drifting around corners. The music was spot on and I love the art. Awesome job :)

Keep It Alive top-down shooter by kkrac 2020-04-23T03:01:53Z

This was fun! I liked the double whammy of trying to keep yourself alive while simultaneously bleeding bullets. This is mentioned above, but a slide would be really nice to add to something like this. Or perhaps a bounce! That could prevent the player from cheesing it and just running circles around the enemies. In my first play through I got pinned by someone that spawned right next time me, so a spawning deadzone around the player would be handy too. Thank you for sharing this game, and well done!

Zhoot IT by CG_Fred 2020-04-28T03:44:59Z

Nice effects. I particularly like the particles. The controls feel smooth and the sound really adds. Great design all around.

Cells by Gaming Night 2020-04-26T15:32:03Z

I really liked this one! The interface is very clean and satisfying, and I love the way it ramps up the resources that you need. A lot of biological things are exponential, so it feels appropriate, too. The only suggestion I can make would be some minor UI tweaks: a smoother pop-up when the user clicks to drop a new organ, for example. And maybe some bigger numbers, since zooming out a little bit makes the plusses look like minuses on my screen. I think this would make a really fun tablet game, and hopefully you'll consider continuing this one now that the jam is done. Thank you for sharing this game!

Perish alive by Lyrcaxis 2020-04-28T03:23:53Z

I love the aesthetic of this! The visuals and the audio mesh very well together, and the game provides a really fun challenge! Also, I just love the idea of a cogwhale. There's only a couple recommendations that I can offer: The game is a challenge, which is totally okay! But after losing in the web version, I had to refresh the website to try again. A try again or reset button would be good. Also some more obvious indicators would be helpful (maybe a dull underwater thud) when taking damage. At first, I didn't realize that the jellies were out to get me. I had a lot of fun and I really like all the upgrade options that were available. Thank you for sharing this game with us!

Gate Crash by Ranjan 2020-04-27T03:23:04Z

Nice game. Maybe consider changing the color schemes. It feels weird that the AND is green, but produces a false red. You might get people into logic gates faster by using both shape cues and color cues. Otherwise, the art and combination of mechanics are really fun.

Open Fire! by Amazura 2020-04-25T05:13:49Z

This was nice! The art was very good and consistent, and you picked clever way to apply the theme. I appreciate that! My only suggestion would be to penalize the player if they go overboard on the character's health. Forcing the player to thread that health bar would add an extra layer of challenge. Very well done, and thank you for sharing!

StarShip Hamster by Maytch 2020-04-27T15:52:38Z

This one brought a smile to my face :) It's a fun way to hit the theme, and a fun game to play as well! I very much appreciate the menu for audio and mouse sensitivity, that's a big deal when the main mechanic relies heavily on spinning a turrent. Also, I'm not sure if it was intentionally over-driven physics, but I loved that some shots would just totally launch the enemies/cabbages into orbit. The art and music were very solid! I especially liked the grass. Thank you for sharing this game!

Dryad by xfinktion 2020-04-22T02:02:21Z

I really liked the music. The different shots made it more interesting. The camera follow felt a bit slow to me, but overall a great compo. Congrats!

Bringing Home the Bacon by RubixNoob13 2020-04-27T03:30:58Z

Nice game. The dragon is a nice addition to a farm game. I would love to be able to click out of a section. A couple of times I clicked on the wrong section and couldn't get out. Good job!

Lights Out by Shafournee 2020-04-24T02:36:19Z

That is some mood. The levels were really well broken up to help you learn through doing. At first, the movement bothered me, but the more I think about it, the better it fits the narrative/feel.

Blood On The Snow by Wolfrug 2020-05-01T01:41:03Z

This game is beautiful. Most of my feedback is mentioned above, but I will note that I was somehow able to turn before clicking thru the text but not use other action points. The text is great, if a little long. In a fleshed out game, I'm guessing you could space it out a bit. Really nice entry. Congrats!

Mammoth Expedition by Abdurrahman Khallouf 2020-04-26T03:52:14Z

The art is really nice on this! The character portraits are appealing, the sound effects and ambient noise worked really well, and the humor was a nice touch. If you were going to push this beyond a ludum dare game, I'd love to see separate art images for the things that the scouts find. It would give a nice taste of what's going on outside the dig site. This is overall a great submission, thank you for sharing this game!

Bunny's guardian angel by Vatigo 2020-04-26T04:06:46Z

Adorable! Excellent choice on the art and music assets, and I have a soft spot for bunnies. I would have loved to see the carrots affect the bunny in some way, it would give me a stronger reason to redirect the bun to a certain goal. Thank you for sharing this game!

The Land I Live On by Danilo Freire 2020-05-01T01:52:49Z

The intro is fantastic and the sound design is spot on. I definitely had a few issues figuring out the bounding boxes for jumping and shooting. There was no way to tell if I was just missing my aim or if I was splashing against a wall. Otherwise, this game is adorable and very relaxing.

Gargantua 3 by Piter 2020-04-26T15:50:06Z

There's a lot of potential here! I like the idea of the station being visibly adrift, and repairing an almost-derelict station sounds like a fun challenge. Some things immediately stand in the way, though. The camera is overly sensitive for mice that are already set to a high speed (as mine is), and it's a little jarring to try to control a character when the camera is that fast. The lack of sound is noticeable, especially when going through doors. We ran out of time for proper sound effects, too, but it merits mentioning. Thank you for sharing this game with us!

Faire L'Amour aux Plantes by Jenny Bourke 2020-04-25T05:45:43Z

haha oh my, this was an unexpected submission. A very unique take on the theme! And it was suitably challenging to get to our favorite Neil. It's okay though, there's other... plants... in the sea...

Space Ranger by LuCecyl 2020-04-25T05:20:24Z

The art is incredibly strong with this entry! I like that you took the time to have nice polished menus and effects, that's a very nice detail for a limited time project like ludum dare! This was fun to play, thank you for sharing!

Keep The Spirit Stone Allive by Ausstein 2020-04-23T02:05:24Z

Are there bonuses for each animal? Are some more effective against certain monsters than others? It's a really fun game. Relaxing yet challenging.

Desertification by hwaet 2020-04-23T01:49:17Z

Thank you everyone for the feedback! We definitely need to work on making our objectives and tile effects more clear. If we keep this going, it would be our first change and something we're already talking about. We wanted to give the effects (particularly the wells) direction indicators and more permanent visual cues, but ran out of time.

@alec We'll probably expand actions per turn if we do more/bigger maps. Hoping we can add some more diverse types of trees and weather as well.

@bmacintosh We have a tendency to make games without much explanation. My personal goal is to focus more on affordances so even if there isn't text, the set-up guides the player better. Thanks for all the feedback!

@mlkvr The plan was for the player to cull young trees to grass or mature trees down to young trees, but a mistake in our code put mature trees all the way back to grass. We only found it after submission. Oops.

Desertification by hwaet 2020-04-28T03:23:43Z

Thanks for the great feedback everyone! Sorry it's so confusing. We're planning on expanding it and breaking this stage up into a few tutorials. We're hoping to keep the early stages more exploratory so we'll probably leave some ambiguity in there, but limit the number of options available on tutorial levels so the player gets a better sense of cause and effect.

@kkrac and @fabula-rasa Thanks for the catch on Settings. I always miss some debugging checks.

@edalbung Great suggestions! Putting "end turn feedback" on our to-do list now. For future versions, we were planning to let the player do a few move/actions per turn as maps get bigger. But we would definitely put a cap on the total distance traveled.

@chief141 We used Blender for the graphics. It's free if you want to check it out. And it helps that one of us is a professional animator.

@nabo369 I didn't even think about the color change. Thanks for the feedback. We're definitely going to tweak that.

@ristoretto Huh, we thought we fixed the walk-off-the-map bug in early testing. Next time, we'll add a location check to seal the deal. It is possible to take back desert, but it needs decent soil and water. We haven't found a good way to show that, but we're working on it.

AMT: Alien Medical Technician by No Grapes Games 2020-04-25T05:03:45Z

I saw this and thought, "hm this makes me think of that awesome meter maid game from a while back." I'm glad to see another entry from you folk! This one was fun :) The music was great, the art draws me in, and you get lots of extra points for doing a rhythm game. That is not easy! If I could make any suggestions, it would be to add a third level to the rhythm part: like a key press combo or a third key to match a target strength. It's hard to give cpr to a banana after all.

very well done!

do not go gently by nsadie 2020-05-01T01:27:02Z

Great game. I really liked the mood. Maybe I'm old or I've been staring at a computer too much today, but the font size seems small. For a jam, I like the balance. It gets the point across while letting the player accomplish something.

Grow by TerribleTrioJoe 2020-04-22T01:47:09Z

I can't believe this is your first jam. The mechanics are really great. The tutorial is a bit confusing. I was expecting some text explanation. Once I got the hang of it, it had a nice flow.

The Last Guardian by civmaniac 2020-04-25T04:44:16Z

What a fun game! The music really stands out. I'm not sure what I can add that others haven't already covered, but the only thing I felt missing while playing it was an obvious reaction when I get hit by and enemy. Some stager or camera shake, perhaps. This was a really nice entry, and I can't praise the music enough. What a joy to play!

Satisfy'n: Keep the Love Alive by BlackOpsBen 2020-04-25T05:38:13Z

that was a fun game! The movement, especially how the character sort of snaps into buidings, felt very good. That's a nice detail that doesn't always show up in regular jam entries, and you did in in a compo! So my hat's off to you. It was a good application of the theme, and it's got ninja. A++

Rouge Connection by Edalbung 2020-04-25T05:55:14Z

This was a good application of the theme! I like the ambiguity of "here's this mystery mcguffin now go protect", it's simple and effective. Much like the art style, which is was simple and clean and worked well for this. My only suggestion would be to add some buffer zones with the camera, when changing direction I'd often end up right on the edge of the screen, and get harmed by enemies that I couldn't see until it was too late. It's always best to have players get hurt because they chose poorly with enough info, rather than choosing poorly because of unknown stuff. Thank you for sharing this!

Lifeline by mlkvr 2020-04-28T03:03:25Z

Wow, for a (nearly) compo, that's a really nice interface. The premise is engaging and the music feels appropriate. If you want to put more time into it, consider highlighting the important details with color saturation or brightness. It was a bit hard to tell what I was supposed to be looking for. Great job!

Carry Me Through by WooshDUde 2020-04-27T02:28:20Z

This was fun! I made it to the bottom right corner, so I feel like a winner :D I'm guessing there's no exit! I liked it, my only suggestion would be to add some audio cues to stress the player out a little more when they get close to running out of time. The original Mario games have scarred me and I'm convinced we must pass this along to future players. Thank you for sharing your game!

Protectors Of The Core by Dryden 2020-04-25T04:06:36Z

This is really impressive for a 2 week unity intro. Congrats on your first game! I like the visual aesthetic, though I'd recommend in future projects to have a little less black. Darkness is best conveyed with desaturated blues, it makes for a more interesting scene! I'm not sure if it was intentional, but I had some fun moments where I'd block a piece of debris and it appeared to knock another piece of debris off course. That'd be a really cool idea to push in a game like this.

Kitten Catastrophe by Phasm Studios 2020-04-28T02:51:37Z

Nice first game! The lamp posts had a weird error where they would only trigger some of the time or at different distances, making it hard to predict. If you want to polish this game further, I'd check on those. The particle effects, sound and over controls felt very satisfying. Congrats!

The Land of The Consumed by NanoArch 2020-04-27T03:02:57Z

Really satisfying game play. One thing that might help in generating early levels would be to limit map size so beginners can practice finding everything a couple of times. Nice mechanics otherwise. Great job!

Sourdough Finisher by instanti8 2020-04-25T04:24:29Z

This one made me chuckle! The music is goofy, but works very well here! The idea is a great application of the theme, and it was fun to figure out the sweet spot and get all those breads. I think the player needs better friends though, they kept lying and taking all the starter. What a bunch of layabouts!

The Last Hearth by Jorim 2020-04-25T06:01:59Z

I love the feel of this one. The ambient sound and the art really combined nicely! It'd be nifty if this game had a victory state, but I also kinda like the whole metaphor of fighting against the darkness even though if the end result is the same. Well done!

Unfurmiliar Territory by marumaroo 2020-04-22T02:15:01Z

Nice animations and the music was relaxing. The colliders for the platform edges felt unpredictable. Otherwise, great game!

Planty's Day Out by CitDev Chris 2020-04-24T02:14:16Z

Great art and the drop mechanic is really interesting. I don't get the flying enemies. Sometimes they'd hurt, sometimes they wouldn't. Is it a collider thing? Either way, great game!

Runner 2049 by inact1v1ty 2020-04-23T02:14:01Z

Nice art. The color concept is spot on. I'm not sure if it was the fps or something else, but it would take an extra split second for the jump to register. There's a lot to take in for a runner, but it made for a fun challenge.

Seasons by leekanarchism 2020-05-02T04:22:06Z

I spent a lot more time playing this than I thought I would, at first! It's a fun puzzle and the falling trees each success really add to its depth. Scaffolding up players like this is something we need to work on, so much respect! Also the layered music was a really good fit for this kind of puzzle. Thank you for sharing this enjoyable game!

untitled by BEBADBOI 2020-04-27T02:50:42Z

I also had trouble with camera controls, but that said, this is a beautiful game. The effects are particularly stunning. Loved the atmosphere and exploring the world!

Keep IT Alive by bjl 2020-04-27T03:08:53Z

That hit a sweet spot for me. Just the right amount of time to feel pressure without completely messing up right away. Nice concept!

Coxless Dirible - In 72 hours around the World! by fachscahfttf 2020-04-26T03:33:36Z

This reminds me a lot of the OverCooked games, and I think it would be really fun to play if I knew all the ins and outs. I'd recommend taking a close look at OverCooked or Onsen Master to see how they deal with player feedback: icons and context-related reactions. You've constructed a fun scene and a great canvas for multiplayer co-op, but the player feedback portion is vital and missing. Thank you for sharing this game with us, and keep at it!

Keep Culture Alive by Gray Fustos 2020-04-27T02:24:20Z

A very unique take on the theme and the mechanics. It's got good replay value with the more topics I think of after I run out of time.

LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Is this a tiger? by limered 2021-04-27T02:42:12Z

This is a great, unique take on the theme. I love the art. It's always a good sign when you start talking to your NPCs in real life.

Deep Meditation by Evil_As_Shit 2021-04-27T06:03:50Z

I feel like you should add a ludum dare logo into the list of thoughts, since I'm playing this at 2am instead of sleeping.

In seriousness though this is a great idea! The only feedback I have is that it would have been nice to have some visual feedback for when you deflect a thought. When things are going really fast, I'm not sure if I successfully block some of the thoughts because the audio is so close together. And I guess related to that, it'd be handy to have the screen pull out a little bit as it gets faster, too. Then a player could really get in the zone. Congrats on the first solo run for a ludum! That's a awesome achievement

RAMnesia by 100th_Coin 2021-05-01T02:03:51Z

This is a great mechanic. Everything fits together really well. I really like how fast it resets after mistakes.

Hamster Mania by michidk 2021-04-27T13:52:49Z

The music is super chill. I love dragging the hamsters around. I kept trying to drag them onto different nuts so they could gather faster and they always seemed to go for the farthest one. Does dragging them remove their target nut?

Deepsea Alchemy by Hugimugi7 2021-04-29T13:59:21Z

I love the mechanics, but I agree the tutorial is too long. If you are going to make it into a bigger game, consider breaking the beginning up by making missions out of testing the movement controls. Your writing style is fantastic and goes a long way to fleshing out the world so I think you could get the same effect with less. Great game!

Cthulhu's Deep Dream by retrome 2021-04-27T13:41:12Z

The graphics are great. The level design and controls feel good. Nice work!

Deep Breathing by MadMystic 2021-04-27T14:04:52Z

I was so relaxed until there were a bunch of things on the screen and I had to blow them all away. If it were a full game, maybe ramp up slower just to keep the chill vibe but it was great take on the theme.

Sorry, That's Not My Deepartment by byAdam 2021-04-27T03:16:44Z

This is a really clever take. I especially like the time dilation as you get deeper. At first I panicked not thinking I'd have enough time. Then I panicked because it was hard to juggle all those jobs. Well done!

Diva's Descent by volsk 2021-04-28T01:04:54Z

I LOVE it! It's great that you have to wait for the right rotation to hit the correct side. Using a flag as an attack just tickles me pink. What move is the short ranged attack supposed to be? This may be overly picky when we're talking about fighting hell demons using pole moves but I can't tell how he's staying up.

in bed, can't sleep by tanatb 2021-04-29T14:10:26Z

This is the first time I've encountered a game where a mechanic is to run the game while I make myself a snack in real life. Nice style, good humor, great game.

Falling Through Love by CinderBlock 2021-04-27T02:53:15Z

My spouse and I played this together and now our relationship is stronger for it <3

The art is beautiful here! It fits the theme and it's got a great feel as well. I'm not sure if it was intentional, but we started using the potato-bounce to push each other out of harm's way. It's easy to imagine more abilities or bounce combos to extend gameplay further.

Congrats on the first game jam! This is very well done

The Adventures of John Drillman by Stanislav Angelov 2021-05-01T02:23:31Z

The sound effects make it very satisfying. The random objects are great. I also had a collision detection problems as well, but overall a very fun game.

The Search for Catlantis by TheEarthAbides 2021-05-01T01:37:14Z

The art and music are great. The slow descent is nicely paced. Great addition to the usual mechanics.

Turtruckin' by eharp 2021-05-01T02:57:28Z

Thank you everyone for the support and feedback! The controls need some tweaking, but we do enjoy the chaos that players get from a little imprecision.

@cinderblock I couldn’t have asked for a better first comment. Thank you!

@milano23 one side uses shift and the other side uses ctrl to pick up. Sorry it’s confusing, we’re still thinking about the best interact button for each hand.

@nvrskipgameday the icons are a little ambiguous, that’s definitely on the list to fix next. We didn’t have time to implement a trash can for tossing out rejects. The window was the next best thing. It’s not an environmentally friendly game.

@epiglottalaxolotl thanks for the bug updates. We’ll check our scripts

@potti I can’t believe we didn’t think of a vegan option off the bat, but we definitely want to make additional more complex stages. Vegan will be the first thing on the menu.

@retrome thanks for the feedback. This will help a lot as we tweak the controls.

Trolley-ho! by MrMattSim 2021-04-27T03:07:11Z

I liked the beat on the background track! It was a bit dark on my monitor, so it was hard to see the scenery at some points. I did like that I could jump on the other cart and mess up its day, though. And the particle effects looked nice!

A fun take on this would be to give the carts a resource they'd need to spend to shoot forward. That way they'd have to pick and choose when they shoot forward to try to cut ahead of each other.

LD49 — Unstable

The Potion Cellar by mactinite 2021-10-05T02:22:29Z

The mini games are great. This would be an awesome mobile/touch screen game. The concept is really interesting. It would be really compelling if you could flesh out the world and customer stories (if you had more time).

Project Stallion / Zherebets Proyekta by dob 2021-10-08T01:33:17Z

The Skip Level is a great add. I may or may not have lost on a purpose a few times just to listen to broadcasts. One tiny tweak: there's a few text boxes that have a button shadow that aren't buttons. It's a little confusing at first.

Chickie Catchers by DDRKirbyISQ 2021-10-05T02:42:03Z

Tip-toe, tip-toe. It's another Cocoa Moss game! Everything here is amazing. Did you ever have to balance peacock feathers? It feels exactly like this. The kitty butt wiggle before pounce has to be my favorite animation. My husband and I can't stop laughing at the whole thing. Excellent job (as always)!

Trailer Trials by thomz12 2021-10-06T05:02:56Z

Very difficult! I wish I could thread the controls a little more, WASD just doesn't give enough dexterity to drive a big rig. Or maybe I should just never drive a truck ever ;) Excellent game, thank you for sharing!

Sky High Islands by jan5366x 2021-10-11T14:54:12Z

This was fun! I liked that the you'd have to push twice in a direction in order to move. When first starting out, I would have gone in the wrong direction quite a few times, otherwise. The music choice was good too, very chill!

Viole(n)t Cooking by Shess 2021-10-05T02:13:01Z

This is excellent! The art is really nice and the music is quite catchy! It kept me hooked while I figured out why my stew ingredients kept quickly imploding. A++ would stew again

Help me there are buildings falling from the sky onto my precious mountain by Kaje Cimhael 2021-10-06T13:39:32Z

I snort laughed at the title. This was a good idea and a solid execution. The music is a perfect fit for it too.

Unstabally World by Holy 2021-10-07T01:15:31Z

Great graphics and audio! For me, there seemed to be a slight lag when shooting. The emotions angle was really unique. One other note: consider changing the shootable rocks to look slightly different from the non-shootable rocks. Congrats on a great game.

Super Quakster by Jared York 2021-10-05T02:13:59Z

Your audio is amazing. I love how the SFX fit with the music. The coins are really satisfying and the camera shake is appropriately disorienting. I'd love to see more levels.

NEKONOVA'S NOT HOME by LeYamez 2021-10-08T01:03:26Z

This game is genuinely beautiful. Once I understood the play, it was more relaxing to watch everything play out. If you ever have more time, breaking up the concepts into levels would probably help.

NEKONOVA'S NOT HOME by LeYamez 2021-10-08T01:14:31Z

gravity.png We love gravity games! The visual treatment is really nice on this! especially that opening effect, dang. Also, doing a skill game like this with only one shot at a time is a really clever choice. You have to make sure each shot counts, but there's still time to appreciate the ambiance of the whole thing. Awesome job!

Emily vs the Unstable Creatures by JPatchZ 2021-10-06T04:43:05Z

I like the art! Especially the smoke poof on the enemies, that was very satisfying. The shooting part became fairly easy once I upgraded the machine gun enough, I was able to just strafe back and forth and take out all the creatures without any danger. That might have changed in later stages, but the game got stuck for me. At first, it failed to load a couple times for me, and hung after a few stages with '[SW] Error fetching 'v6p9d9t4.ssl.hwcdn.net/html/4568119/' (403 )' which seems to be related to Construct. I'm not sure what could be done about that, but wanted to give you a heads up. Anyway this is an awesome entry for ludum, and doubly so for a first game. Y'all did awesome, thank you for sharing your game!

Ebb and Feel by Baconeta 2021-10-05T01:59:11Z

The art and music are great. Wonderful ambience! The character controller needs work. It's too slow (if you want slow, I suggest a different walk cycle). There are times when the walk cycle didn't trigger and other times when the colliders didn't work and I fell through stable platforms. It's a great first pass.

Bitrot by Maxathon 2021-10-07T02:47:52Z

I wouldn't say the game is too easy, it flows. The scaffolding is so seamless that you can't see it ramping up. Nice work all around. Those graphics!

AFTER SUN by rufson 2021-10-05T19:30:33Z

This was fun! The thrust *felt* super fast, there's lots of good juice in this game :) I was a mean pilot and burnt half the planet to a crisp instead of saving them. Oops

Rickety Ranch by GreenXenith 2021-10-07T01:06:09Z

The animations are great! I really like your intro level design as well. It does a nice job of setting up the obstacles. Not sure if I missed something, but why are the birds dangerous (plot wise)?

Cultist aboard ! by Guilloteam 2021-10-06T13:15:01Z

The audio treatment is really nice in this game! It fits the mood perfectly, and the art matches it well. You got to a really good level of polish in such a short time, awesome job!

Nucleus by mrBell270 2021-10-07T02:49:47Z

I love how chill how this is. The audio matches with it very nicely. It's almost meditative. I really enjoyed it!

Head Librarian by Daniel Giorlando 2021-10-08T01:19:38Z

I'm still giggling. This game is great! The whole aesthetic, background and character design are really spot on. As someone already mentioned, the explosion sound effect is a bit off. Everything else is lovely. I loved racing to a bookshelf as my pile collapsed. Just made it.

Apocalyptic Commute by Rocketcat241 2021-10-07T01:24:16Z

Nice audio! It sounds particularly good when it slows down. Clicking on blocks didn't always work for me, which was a bit frustrating, but when it worked it was a great mechanic.

Unstable Ship by Aidan and seb 2021-10-06T13:06:25Z

This was lots of fun! I could see this being a really awesome multiplayer game where teamwork was needed to keep the ship from exploding. Thank you so much for including menu options for mouse sensitivity and such! Getting in those extra details goes a long way. Thank you for sharing this game!

A Stable Life by baconharemthug 2021-10-07T00:58:25Z

Great environment work. I liked your textures. Lots of the clues were subtle, but stood out just enough to check out. If anything, it would be nice if the bounding boxes to click on evidence were bigger. I think I missed a few things, but I'm pretty sure I was clicking the right general area.

Rise and Fall by Coelacanth Studios 2021-10-06T01:33:58Z

What a great mechanic! There's so much you could do with it and yet it's so simple. Nice music too.

Wobbly Cannonry by LucDeligne 2021-10-07T02:39:49Z

Excellent! This is a very well executed idea. I wish I could have had just a little more control, either by weaker inputs or supporting a gamepad. Mostly because I'd really like to pull a circus maneuver and see how much taller I could make my tower of guns. Thank you for sharing this game!

Crybaby-sitter by always prepared 2021-10-06T04:50:05Z

Ooof. This captures the panic of 'where's the dang pacifier!?' pretty well for any parents in the audience. The music is very catchy, that added quite a lot to this!

Uncertain Orbits by Malcolm 2021-10-08T01:08:31Z

Great game! I really like the level progression. A little spacey music during play would add a lot.

LD53 — Delivery

Astroxite by MAT4DOR 2023-05-05T07:18:29Z

I always enjoy a good space game! Like others, I tripped over the routes bit. I could sometimes figure out a way to ship stuff around, but other times I couldn't seem to create a route between places that I needed. I also ran out of carbon in my match pretty quickly, as I tried to build up iron for a station, and felt stuck there. I was hoping I could generate more carbon on earth, but alas!

Pack Bringer by Bugord 2023-05-07T07:05:10Z

This is really well put together! I loved how tight the puzzles were. Every step mattered, and it was fun to figure out what 1 or 2 extra steps I was wasting as I navigated around. Thank you!

Beelivery by Jejkobb 2023-05-02T16:25:22Z

Wonderful game! I love that I start back at checkpoints. It's really well designed for a high failure rate. Great graphics and music. Thanks for a great game.

Faking It by Hannah 2023-05-07T07:17:44Z

This is a hilarious idea, and the art is very well executed on this! I did very well for a normal human without extra tentacles to hit all these buttons. Aliens would probably find it much easier. A++ game jam entry!

ROG LD53 - Relic Courier by Rocktavious 2023-05-06T05:09:05Z

This is great! There's a lot in here for jam game! Even options menus, which is quite fancy. Audio options are key, and I'm guilty of skipping for too many jams. I wasn't able to get my xbox controller to work on the web5 version, but keyboard works just fine. The myst-style controls took out some of the immersion, I'd perfer a little more degree of freedom in how I explore a dungeon like this. But the minimap was really cool and helpful, and that's a super big plus! Thank you for sharing this :)

The Pigeon Post Principle by cassowary 2023-05-02T21:05:38Z

The graphics are nice. The music is great! The difficulty of the puzzles is perfect. It's blowing my brain just how well the levels are set-up to teach you the tactics. Great game!

deLIVERY by hwaet 2023-05-02T11:29:44Z

Sorry folks! The bad link is fixed, thanks for flagging that <3

deLIVERY by hwaet 2023-05-02T16:52:59Z

Thanks @jakobthequizguy! We ran out of time but one of the ideas we were kicking around was an in-game guide to help the player learn the terms. Kind of like how Va-Hall-A has an guide to teach the player how to mix drinks as a bartender. There's so many ways to tackle this, we might dig a little deeper into this idea once we finish taking a post-jam break!

deLIVERY by hwaet 2023-05-03T05:07:38Z

Hi All. Thanks for the great feedback! For those stuck by the language: you can flip back and forth between drawing and delivery as many times as you like before you deliver. For the first four stages, we specifically chose flags that had a few modern words that should help decipher between them. Everything after that is randomly generated.

For the color mismatch, we had a NASA rover moment and accidentally built some of the code using different color values. We ran out of time to fix it. It's first on the fix list for next time.

@junagames we were going to make a whole town that you could walk around to find the right house. Alas, we are time's subjects. Hopefully we can expand on the next round.

deLIVERY by hwaet 2023-05-05T05:47:36Z

@wetburritosupreme Reverse word engineering is exactly what we were hoping for on this one. Thank you!!!

License To Serve by No Grapes Games 2023-05-05T06:25:41Z

For others unable to get the cheat, try ctrl+f11 instead of shift! I like this one, it gives me pheonix wright vibes. I didn't get the puzzle at first but it was fun to try to narrow down character traits like this

maritime delivery job by CodeForJoyCaro 2023-05-05T07:24:16Z

Something about the font choice here is very inviting to me! I love the ambient sounds, they add a lot. I also really appreciate that we can sprint with shift, thanks for putting that in there. My one wish would be to wrap around the map, but I suppose that would make it too easy to avoid the dangers sometimes ;)

Postominoes by Rawb 2023-05-02T23:50:41Z

The repacking mechanic is really great. I had trouble rotating the packages, but everything else felt really good. The sliding made for a nice level of chaos. Great game!

Pancake Day by Martin183 2023-05-02T20:26:09Z

My brain hurts, in a good way. Switching cars definitely leads to some great chaos. The piano player in me wants to be able to play both cars at once. This might be one of the best character controllers I've played so far. Nice fine tuning. Great job!

A Backyard Scramble by Bea 2023-05-07T07:09:52Z

I feel like I hate chickens in general just a little bit more after playing this. I really liked the game! The music is well made for a game like this, and it was fun to fly through the obstacle course. I'm glad the chickens were throwing eggs at me because I lost quite a few along the way. I don't think I'm cut out to be a farmer :/

Aerial Odyssey by Tvorojok 2023-05-02T20:18:48Z

Great game! The graphics and sound are awesome. The mechanics feel really good. As someone already said, the how-to screen is a wall of text. Maybe break it up into a screen for each of the sections? Overall it's a really fun game. Congrats!

The Great Eggscape by Syriella 2023-05-02T20:40:53Z

Nice game! The audio is great and the theming is consistent. It was a bit laggy for me. Considering the game already has a low poly feel you could probably get away with graphically cheaper models. It's a refreshing tangent on the theme. Congrats!

Midnight Muffin Delivery Service by Tyler M 2023-05-06T05:57:34Z

hahahaha muffins go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

This was fun, and relaxing, and the art felt very cohesive! Adding a controllable parachute added quite a lot to the strategy of it, too. Thank you!

STARTUK 🚕💫 by froissant 2023-05-02T16:12:16Z

It's great graphics and music. I like the added three dimension driving mechanic. Like the others said, the sensitivity is super high for keyboard. If you want to make it chaotic, maybe start with lower sensitivity and raise it as the player succeeds at a few missions. Congrats on a great job.

Starhook Express by zSharpFire 2023-05-17T07:17:45Z

I love that on one my early plays I just launched myself into deep space. I hope that package was insured. This was a fun game! I did find myself wishing I could zoom out a bit sometimes, but the flow of hopping between planets was really nice. Thank you!

lycoris;lastwords by robobarbie 2023-05-02T20:55:07Z

This game is just beautiful: the stories, the music, the art. The word bubbles are laggy, but I still want to bask in the whole experience regardless.

De-livery by Sylf 2023-05-07T06:39:10Z

Of all the delivery puns, I never thought of relieving someone of their liver! This was really well done! I'm bad at staying healthy though, all my livers died way too young ;_;

Detective Root by seshoumara 2023-05-07T06:21:40Z

I really dig the puzzles in this! The art has a cool style and the music surprisingly uplifting for a noir story. It makes for a very chill puzzle experience. It took me a while to figure out the second one and the music really added the experience while I was fiddling about

Rain On Their Parade! by TomasPraestholm 2023-05-02T23:34:09Z

This is super cute and very chill. I only wish there were more levels. Great job.

You're Doing Crate by armannobari 2023-05-06T05:36:40Z

This is really polished! The art kits and music were well chosen, and I really enjoy the segway-esque navigation of the robot. It feels a bit like a single player Overcooked, I played this for quite a while. Thank you!

GobEx by WeirdBitGames 2023-05-03T04:34:59Z

What a fun game! I had an issue where anytime anything was held in front of the goblin it counted as a bonk on the head. But the graphics and design are wonderful. I want to get more into the physics of it, but with my error, I was losing too fast. Congrats!

Glimpse of the Future by AigleSan 2023-05-02T16:31:24Z

It's a great first jam. Congrats! I agree with the above feedback about collision. The map helps get around it, but it would feel better play wise. Great job!

RELEASE THE MEAT by NuiN 2023-05-03T04:14:05Z

You've got some great physics in here with minute to learn mechanics (though I definitely haven't mastered them). I may or may not be declaring "Release the Meat" out loud in every stage. Hopefully, I don't play this game in public.

DETOUR by Nozomu57 2023-05-07T22:28:46Z

Great puzzles. Is the delivery box supposed to be a collision object or not? I've seen the game do both. Otherwise, the game is super fun.

Logisticlaw by Cubellia 2023-05-07T07:23:43Z

I love the art on this, and the level start screen was a nice tough! It was fun to play the game properly, but also lots of fun to realize I could just use the magnet to sweep piles of boxes towards the truck like a giant broom. I think now I understand why all my shipping boxes arrive damaged all the time! Thank you for this lovely game

Am I your "Type"? by pralista 2023-05-02T16:04:04Z

The graphics are great and the mechanics are original and fun. The timing is pretty spot on. I think more cards should have hearts beyond compliments of physical appearance. Great job!

Cursor Courier by ClarkDjent 2023-05-07T06:29:22Z

I love the concept! Cursor commands as a game mechanic is a clever way to hit this jam. I had a lot of fun with the stages, though I did get stuck a lot on the corners as I jumped around. The music was fun too!

Hive by blank_3D 2023-05-06T05:22:34Z

What a lovely chill game! I could play this all night. It gives me katamari vibes a little bit, but without the timed panic. No non-bee bugs were encountered ;)

Of Mice and Mail by ShamanTramp 2023-05-02T13:27:25Z

Great game! I loved the music from the start. I'm not sure how the aim works, but I got a decently high score. I can't wait to see more.
