I'm not sure if it was a glitch, or just something not yet implemented, but I'm seeing what look like white hitboxes instead of animations.
I found the jumping kind of awkward, and also aligning hits with the enemies.

@jasond , white boxes are placeholders to give the players a basic idea where to hit. Unfortunately, our art guy had a lot of real life issues so he couldn't finish the attack animation, among other things :/
Can you please elaborate on what you found wrong with jumping and aligning hits? Not picking or anything like that, simply curious because we're planning to finish the game eventually.
I loved your art style more than anything else!
Loved the visuals! The gameplay was also fun and the game was quite challenging. The audio and sfx fit the tone of the game. A nice add would be an option to skip the start splash screen, but I don't see this as a big issue. Overall it's a solid entry!
Buying things for "health points" is a nice mechanic, but the game feels repetitive pretty fast. Also when jumping and hitting the ceiling, the character glitches to the left (played on Windows 10 64bit). I would like to see this game in a more finished state, as I like the idea and character design.
Would have gone for up key for the jump, controls feels weird. I liked the art, too bad you didn't have time to finish animations. Music is pretty cool too ! Overall the game is nice, it just feels a bit unfinished which is normal with such a limited time ^^
I enjoyed it a lot, even with placeholders the gameplay felt pleasant. Would love to play a full version if you ever make one. ^^ Great job!
I was really looking forward to this from the screenshots, but it feels disappointingly unfinished and broken.
@gecco-xyz , @gil4 , @juhani-koskinen , @kcourtois , @mamoniem thank you guys for the feedback!
@gecco-xyz , I actually feel the same about the repetitiveness myself! We didn't have time for new levels at all, after all, I finished the game over screen only something like 40 minutes before the deadline. The level editor that I made for the levels guy is really crude with no auto-tiling and it takes a lot of time to scroll past the selection and place all the bricks, haha!
It is a pity that you have not been able to finish the game. The character art is nice and I like the idea of fighting with an umbrella (and blocking with the umbrella! That was really good idea).
**THE GOOD** The art style is consistent and the main character clearly had a lot of work put into it, despite the placeholders. Sound was good enough for a jam game and the gameplay was straightforward.
**NEEDS WORK** Obviously, the placeholders looked way out of place and definitely didn't help the experience. That aside, the physics engine was probably the biggest problem I noticed - jumping felt a bit strange, I was bouncing around and didn't have the control I wanted to have over the character.
The game feels mostly complete and fun to play, despite the placeholder sprites.
You should fix the colision if you plan to finish it 'cause it definitely feel weird, for exemple, I had enemies half sunken into the ground.
@amastryukov @zuzupd thanks a lot for the feedback :)
Cute character! And I enjoyed the music, it gives a nice nostalgic vibe. As others mentioned, the placeholder white boxes look like errors at first. I'd recommend using something slightly more if your art person gets waylaid next time. Even a splotch drawn in mspaint would be totally fine :) I think I'd like the jumps to hang in the air for just a little bit longer, too. Overall I like this one, and the umbrella fighting/blocking idea is fun, too!
@hwaet , thanks for the feedback! :)
The character, her look, animations, was so cool! Cool idea with using umbrella as a weapon. I feel like I hang in the air a bit too long while jumping
I tried to play your game but could not even start it. Each time I would try to open it, it would bug... Here is a screen: screen_blood_type_z.png
The character is cute and the sounds are good. The description of the game (syringe umbrella) implies that there could be an interesting story to the world. It's too bad that you couldn't finish more but that's the way it goes in a jam. What do the different color vials do? Are they just different amounts of health?
The music and audio of this entry is great and probably the strongest part of it.
The style of the protagonist's idle stance is very nice albeit the majority of the graphics in the game are very rough and unfinished. I understand that life gets in the way and your artist had to pull out of the Jam, but I'd like to see them return and put in more of their beautiful sprite work.
Gameplay felt very samey with levels feeling like you started at the beginning of each level once completed. There's a lot of collision issues where the player can get stuck and such. The store felt intuitive having to select which vial you wished to purchase with the number keys.
I never quite understood what the other coloured vials were for.
The character walking and idle animations are pretty good. I feel like this would become a lot more fun when you apply that same quality to the missing attack, block, and enemy animations.
This is your 20th rating, so you can get a score now. Good job!
@ransom @littlew00d @dovakla thanks a lot for the feedback! Different vials give various buffs the player. Yellow gives speed, green gives jump height, and purple gives shield boost. They also stack!
