LD42 — Running out of space

Pervertica - CCG by mitus 2018-08-14T13:50:59Z

This is great. I absolutely loved the gameplay, even though it took me quite a while to even beat the first boss because there's so much to watch out for here. I love the difficulty though, just makes you want to get better.

The artworks are stellar, although the pixel art and fonts look kinda weird. And the music is great too!

I'm probably gonna spend a lot of time in this game at least until I beat it...

Great job on this one. The core gameplay is very satisfying and the difficulty is great. I like how the game combines platforming action with rebuilding a village, it reminds me of an old game called ActRaiser a little bit.

There's a lot of content for a small game like this and it's a great thing.

The presentation is very charming. The artstyle, the music and the llamas (those are llamas, right?) make the game relaxing to play.

I enjoyed this one a lot.

I felt as though I played one of those arcade shooters from back in the day. Once I figured the controls out, I just couldn't stop playing. The whole thing is very satisfying. It's very easy for a shooter like this though, which is honestly just a little bit disappointing. The hitboxes seem pretty weird as well.

The music was pretty interesting.

My only complaint is that it doesn't have a leaderboard to save the scores. I mean, that's one of the most important things for an arcade shooter!

Keep it up, I loved this game.

Penguin Voyage by guladam 2018-08-14T10:04:03Z

When the theme suggestions were still up, I suggested "penguins". I was pretty disappointed that my suggestion never reached the voting stage. Even then, me and my team ended up making a game about whales instead.

But then I find this game. Wow. You are my hero.

On a more serious note, the graphics and the audio are pretty good. Everything looks polished and very well done. The voice acting was pretty surpising, too. The gameplay... Well, maybe it's all down to personal preference but the way the player's ship moves confused the heck out of me.

@hyprgloo, @sinnis, @hare-software, @miracl, @dark-prince-zen, @shozou, thanks a TON for the feedback, guys! The retry button was unfortunately one of those features that had to be cut (that sounds kinda weird, I know)

@max6333 I can't agree with you about the control scheme here. It's probably a matter of preference. I played with arrow keys in most PC shmups and it was great for me. Thanks for the feedback nevertheless, mate.

@max6333 ahhh, I see. Sorry about that. I didn't remember there's a layout like that, pretty sure the rest of the team didn't either.

@eatthepath Oh, but the very best stuff is at the end of the game, you know? Thanks a lot for playing!

Devil Warship Makujin by Ceuteum 2018-08-14T14:17:59Z

@tulipekoni That's interesting, because we were going for controls like in Sinistar or Bosconian and those are pretty old games. So not exactly pushing boundaries, haha. Thank you for playing!

Great little puzzle game. The graphics remind me of a Game Boy game, which is really cool. Loved the artstyle itself, too.

The level design is clever and satisfying. And that last level... Well played man, well played.

I'm from outer space by N00ByPaPa 2018-08-14T10:27:54Z

Awesome graphics and artstyle. There's no way not to love playing a huge eye monster from space like this. It's actually pretty cute.

The game itself is very fun and I loved the way you played with the theme. I thought that the placement of the upgrade panel and ability timers was distracting: you always have to look to the corner of the screen while the main action is somewhere else. A shame about no sound, but it's no problem.
